Debug not working in CF8
I just upgraded our test box to Coldfusion 8. Everything is
working great, the only problem is that none of the debug is
showing up. I have my ip address entered into the system and
debugging turned on. The code does not have a settings tag to not
show debug.
Has anyone else ran into this problem or is there anything
special you need to do differently then CF7 to get debug to show?
Thanks
Well... even though the upgrade brought all the settings over
from CF7, the debug settings weren't implemented. The setting was
checked like it was implemented but it wasn't. To fix, uncheck and
save your settings. Then recheck the debug setting and save.

OC4J JSP Debugging not working for all the jsps
Hi,
Initially I was not able to debug jsps using Eclipse and OC4J. The jsp debugging started working once I made the below changes:
1) global-web-application.xml is modified
Changed the attribute development="true" in orion-web-app
Added the below init param for the JspServlet
<init-param>
<param-name>debug</param-name>
<param-value>class</param-value>
</init-param>
If the jsps are present in a sub directory under the webcontent none of the breakpoints are working. I am still be able to view the jsp pages on the browser.
Tools: Oracle 10g Application Server Standalone version(10.1.3.5.0), JDK5, Windows XP, Eclipse Indigo
Project Structure:
Test (Eclipse Dynamic Web Project)
-WebContent
Sample.jsp ( Breakpoints are working)
-subF (Folder)
SubSample.jsp (Breakpoints are not working)
-WEB-INF
web.xml
Debugging worked for http://localhost:8888/Test/Sample.jsp
Debugging not working for http://localhost:8888/Test/subF/SubSample.jsp
Any help is highly appreciated.

DannyThis tells there is not enough main memory (not disk space) for the program to run.
- You can look the dump in ST22, it will have suggestions on increasing the ROLLAREA??, you can forward that to Basis.
- Most likely you will not have any more memory to assign so the above may not be feasible. Try to rework your query so it works with less data. -
Flex Builder 3 Beta 3 Debugging not working with latest Flash Player Debug
First to emphasize that never had such issues with Flex
Builder 2 Beta 2 and Flash Player 9.0.47 Debug version.
I downloaded Flex Builder 3 Beta 3 and installed it. Then
trying to debug any Flex app (old or newly created) does not work.
I don’t get any errors, but after some research I saw
it’s nagging up on trying to connect to the Flash Player
debug version.
1. Uninstalled old versions of Flash Player (FP).
2. Downloaded latest debug version of FP 9 (9.0.115) and
installed it both for IE and Opera (Netscape-compatible).
3. Installed Flex Builder 3 Beta 3.
4. Created a simple Flex app.
5. Ran it in debug mode.
6. Showed a small window with title “Progress
Information” and a progress + text: Waiting for Flash Player
to connect to debugger…
7. Two minutes later I got the error: “Failed to
connect; session timed out. Ensure that: 1. You compiled your Flash
application with debugging on. 2. You are running the debugger
version of Flash Player.”
Any idea what is wrong? I tried to download an older debug
version but then FB 3 Beta 3 raises the error it’s expecting
version 9.0.115. I searched to download FB3 Beta 2 (because I
deleted it after downloading Beta 3) but unfortunately Adobe did
their best to wipe it out from their links.
Any help is welcome.

-DimitarHi Dimitar,
Did you close all the browsers (and applications which use
Flash Player) when you install Flex Builder 3 Beta 3 or Flash
Player? You can try manually installing it from <FB install
location>/player/ directory. Here're some
installation/unintallation instructions of Flash Player:

Debugging not working in weblogic portal
When I am running my portal app built on weblogic portal 8.1, its throwing an error cannot start debugger. App might not be deployed properly.
I have redeployed 2-3 times, and its running also fine, but debugger is not working.
when the app domain starts few exceptions are thrown like,
primary key voilated,
jms connection pool could not connect
Can this be the reason?well, from a debugging perspective, the application errors should not prevent a debugger from attaching to the VM. Can you be more specific about when you say the debugger is not starting?
Thanks

I am not seeing traces in the xsengine trace log; nor am I able to effectively set breakpoints in the Web Editor and stop page processing. I'll start by defining roles and configuration, describing actions that aren't working, and then finish with 2 questions.
ROLES AND CONFIGURATION
According to the developer guide, the following configuration and roles need to be in place for tracing and debugging to work. This is our current role state:
User assigned Debugger role
To change Trace level, user assigned TraceAdmin role
User assigned TraceViewer role, child role of Developer
To view tracing, confirm the following configuration. This is our current config state.:
In the xsengine.ini file, the debugger > enabled node is set to true
In the xsengine.ini file, the httpserver > developer_mode node is set to true
ACTIONS
To start tracing, set the Trace level for your package, e.g., debug. Include a trace call in the code, e.g., $.trace.debug("testing debug trace"). In the Web Editor, run the xsjs file, and in the resulting browser window, click the Call Backend button. Here is where my issues begin: there is no Call Backend button, in any browser version.
To start debugging, set breakpoints in the Web Editor by clicking the line number. A breakpoint is indicated by a red arrow on the line number. Then run the page. The page should stop processing at that point. (You can also set breakpoints in Hana Studio by running in Debug perspective, and setting a debug configuration. I tried this also, but was unable to create a desired configuration for port 443; this is a separate issue, outside the scope of this discussion.)
QUESTIONS
What am I missing in setting up tracing?
What am I missing in setting up debugging?
Thanks in advance for any guidance.
BillKrishna,
Thank you for your response. Running breakpoints in the Hana Studio debug perspective has its own set of challenges for us. The web server is using ssl, and thus is set to port 443, rather than port 80(server instance number). I have not been able to successfully create a configuration for running xsjs scripts through Hana Studio. But I'll keep trying.

InDesign CS4 Debug not working on Windows
Dear All,
Two days back I purchased Bronze ASN memebership. This is the first time when I am trying debug version of InDesign. I have installed InDesign CS4 Debug on both Mac & Windows. On Mac it is working fine, but on windows it is not working.
Debug Indesign is not getting launch and asking for re-installation. I have re-installed 2-3 times. Release version allready installed one my PC. I have tried with differeent combination like "install without Release version of InDesign", "insatalled on different drive", etc.
I hope some one can help me to resolve this issue.
Regards,
RajeevI think the Adobe terminology is Required not recommended, but the
recommended build environment for CS4 plugins is Visual Studio 2005 plus
service pack 1.
As has been said many times on this list, and I can confirm from painful
experience, you may have problems if you try to build your plugins with VS
2008.

Authentication and Debugging not working -- since Saturday, July 12
Hi everyone,
Since Saturday (July 12), the iTunes U launcher that my institution uses (a Moodle block) has ceased successfully authenticating users. From all the looking I've done, nothing has changed from our side, although I am having to do the investigation remotely, and can only be about 95% certain of that so far.
I'm also not able to use the debug string to see what credentials are being sent to iTunes U, because there appears to be no difference in the launcher process, whether debugging is enabled or not.
Is anyone aware of any changes or glitches in the system in the last few days? Any information at all will be very greatly appreciated.
-JRWoolamaloo lives to help with such problems. Woolamaloo is an application specifically designed to access your iTunes U site without any CGI, BlackBoard or Moodle building blocks, etc. It accesses your site directly ... using any credential you supply. In effect, you can use it to "be" any user at your site. It can even show you Apple's debug webpage (if you want to see it). You can use Woolamaloo to verify that your site is not working ... or that it is and you have a local problem. You can find out and download the app here:
http://itunes.uic.edu/Woolamaloo.html
It comes in both a Windows and Mac OS version (though I admit to having a Mac OS X bias). -
I have both CS3 and CS4 web preium installed on my system. I
have started working in CS4 and found that the debug window will
not work. I created a new Flash CS4 fla and added some breakpoints.
It seems to run without stopping at the breakpoints and displaying
my trace statements. I have a ticket into support but no one has
answered it yet. I remember this happening when I installed CS3 web
pre but can't remember what I did to fix it. Is a uninstall of all
the products neccessary? Or should I just uninstall Flash. Any
comments welcome. I hate calling support and talking to some person
in another country that does not have a clue how to fix
ANYTHING!The text in the output window reads:
Attemping to launch and connect to Player using URL
F:\CS4\NewTest.swf
I have a breakpoint in there but the movie seems to ignor it
and does not show anything or stop. When I close the swf debug
window I get:
Debugger launched failed. Debug session will terminate.
Then I am back in. I think this happened in CS3 as well but
can not remember what I did to fix it. I have made my own workspace
and have tried others as well with the same results.
THanks for getting back to me. Right now I don't have time to
uninstall and reinstall. Project deadlines and all that. I am still
using CS3 on the same machine.
I really like the new interface design you guys built! Really
helps with my Windows Vista Ultimate and issues with Flash CS3 as
well.
Thanks for getting back to me. -
Flex debug not working in FB3r3 on web apps
I am developping a Flex application for an Apache Tomcat 5.5
server.
I installed eclipse 3.3 with the FB3r3 plug-in (after
uninstalling Flash as requested). To test all was well I created a
simple web application with server type 'none' the Flex debugging
worked fine. However, if I set the server type to J2EE with a
Tomcat 5.5 server the Flex debugging does not work with the same
application.
I have tried switching web browser from internal to default
system (IE) (the browser used with the 'none' application), but
this didn't help.
What have I missed? Any help appretiated.Well... even though the upgrade brought all the settings over
from CF7, the debug settings weren't implemented. The setting was
checked like it was implemented but it wasn't. To fix, uncheck and
save your settings. Then recheck the debug setting and save. -

CFHTTP and Scheduled Tasks not working after CF8 Upgrade
I have recently upgraded to ColdFusion 8. My scheduled tasks
in the ColdFusion Administrator do not work anymore. I ran them
manually without the ColdFusion Administrator from the server and a
local machine via Internet Explorer 7 and they work. I tried to run
the same scheduled task with the same URL via CFHTTP in a CFM page
and this does not work. The logs are not giving me any error
messages. Has anyone run into this? Is this a bug with CF8 or even
an IIS issue? ColdFusion is on a Windows 2003 SP2 server.

Hi,
I cant get the debugging option working. running latest version on xp.
For example right clicking on remote debug doesn't bring up the dialogue box that asks for ip etc. I have no options on the context menu for "compile" or "compile with debug option".
Colleagues working on Macs have no problems. Even the Linux guy has it working...
I have disabled my firewall. Got the latest version. Complained loudly about the short comings of windows, but all to no avail. Any help much appreciated.
Cheers
RalphI was executing the program using sqldeveloper.bat as when I clicked on sqldeveloper.exe various JVM errors were produced, like this "Unable to create an istance of the Java Virtual Machine Located at path: C:\sqldeveloper\jdk\jre\bin\client\jvm.dll" It turns out that I needed to fix the program such that it ran when I clicked the sqldevloper.exe icon. This was done by adding two lines to the sqldeveloper.conf file as follows
AddVMOption -Xms64M
AddVMOption -Xmx512M
Which seems to have fixed the JVM issues and I can now see the debugger Icons. All I need to do now is work out how it works... -
PL/SQL Debugging not working on VS 2005
Hello,
I'm trying to debug a PL/SQL procedure from Oracle Explorer on Visual Studio 2005 SP1 (German), but it doesn't work. It seems as debugging runs, the process OracleDebugger.exe starts.
I can even stop debugging, and the process stops. But I can't "Step Into", and breakpoints are not reached. The procedure should insert a row, COMMIT is inside (only to test it). The row is not being inserted. When I only "Run" the procedure from Oracle Explorer, it works, the row is inserted.
The Output Windows shows only the following:
PL/SQL-Debugger wird gestartet.
PL/SQL-Debugger benutzt Port 55991 als Listener.
The port is open.
My config data:
- Oracle Server 10.2.0.3 running on development machine. CPUJan2007 applied.
- Visual Studio 2005 (German) with SP1
- ODAC (with ODT) 10.2.0.2.20
- Windows XP Professional SP2 (German)
- Oracle Application Debugging is not checked.
Debugging Oracle procedures from Visual Studio has never worked for me. I've read the forum, but I found no solution.
The trace file for the debugging (after ALTER system SET events = '10590 trace name context forever, level 4098';) contains the following:

NicolasHm.. try setting your port range to 1271 up to 1271 since we know that port works. Make sure SQLDeveloper is closed down.
There was a memory corruption bug affecting ODT PL/SQL Debugging in 10.2.0.2.20 although so far I have only seen reports of it affecting Application Debugging. Maybe it is causing your problem. If that is the case, the odds are decent that this would work on another machine, or it may start working for you after opening random projects, etc. Try doing the debugging with no Visual Studio project open as well. I'll see if there are other diagnostics we can do.
If you could send an email to [email protected] so I can track this, that would be great! -
Forms debug not working in 11g. Working fine in 10g
I am able to attach the debug of runtime with the random port number, but not stopping at the breakpoints. This is happening in 11g environment.
Same method is working in 10g environment. What additional configuration do I need to do to run a form in debug mode in 11g environment.
My configuration is here.
1. in env file, I have the debugger.jar added to Classpath
cusm.env
CLASSPATH=...;....;....;C:\Oracle\Middleware\Oracle_FRHome1\jlib\debugger.jar;...;...;
FORMS=C:\Oracle\Middleware\Oracle_FRHome1\forms
2. formsweb.cfg
debug=no
# Forms runtime argument: host for debugging
host=
# Forms runtime argument: port for debugging
allow_debug=false
[cusm]
workDirectory=/oracleias11g/work
envfile=cusm.env
form=frm_main.fmx
userid=@orcl
lookAndFeel=oracle
pageTitle=Development 11g
width=1050
height=800
archive=frmall.jar,customicon.jar
At runtime from the form
debug.attach;
Then in the forms designer
Debug-->Attach Debug
Enter the random port number and the server and enter.
Create couple of breakpoints in the forms trigger.
and press button in the form.
Now control is expected to come to forms designer, but not stopping at breakpoints.
When Stop debug from forms designer, the runtime session is ending.
Please help.
Thanks in advance,
RaviAssuming you connected to the running form successfully, it sounds like your breakpoint is not being called. In other words, if you put a breakpoint in a trigger that isn't firing then the break will never occur. A simple test would be to add a break in the WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE trigger. Since this trigger cannot be avoided, control will quickly be passed to the debugger at startup. If this works then you can assume what I mentioned, which is that your other breakpoints are not being reached.
Just to be sure, I just tested the Debugger in Forms 11.1.2.1 on Windows and it appears to work correctly. -
Break Points while remote debugging not working in Eclipse

Now why would that be? Am I missing somethiing?
I have built the files with debugging on.
