Debugging across projects

I have one application, which has a main project with other include jars which i deploy as ADF jars and then add it to this project.
now when i run one page of the main project it calls the task flows from the other ADF jars and displays some graphs on the page. is there a way i can debug the ADF jars code while running the main page of the main project which calls the task flow of the ADF jars.
please post your queries if the problem is not clear
Thanks in advance

how do i put a break point in the other projects source code which would be encountered while debugging one page from the main project ?You put the breakpoints that you want anywhere in the code, and you enable remote debugging for the specific project. You start remote debugging on the specific project by right-clicking on it and select Start Remote Debugger. This will attach JDeveloper to WebLogic. You run the main application deployed on the stand-alone WebLogic directly in the browser (not in JDeveloper). The application breaks directly into your specific project in JDeveloper.

    Hi Memalyn
    Essentially, the bare issue is that you have a 500GB hard drive with only 10GB free. That is not sufficient to run the system properly. The two options you have are to move/remove files to another location, or to install a larger hard drive (eg 2TB). Drive space has nothing to do with SMC firmware, and usually large media files are to blame.
    My first recommendation is this: download and run the free OmniDiskSweeper. This will identify the exact size of all your folders - you can drill down into the subfolders and figure out where your largest culprits are. For example, you might find that your Pictures folder contains both an iPhoto Library and copies that you've brought in from a camera but are outside the iPhoto Library structure. Or perhaps you have a lot of purchased video content in iTunes.
    If you find files that you KNOW you do not need, you can delete them. Don't delete them just because you have a backup, since if the backup fails, you will lose all your copies.
    Don't worry about "cleaners" for now - they don't save much space and can actually cause problems. Deal with the large file situation first and see how you get on.
    Let us know what you find out, and if you manage to get your space back.

  • Debug multiple projects in Jdeveloper 11.1.2.4

    Hi all,
    I have 2 projects (tcp/ip server and client) in one workspace. How can i set up the jdeveloper so that I can debug both projects simultaneously. For example in Microsoft Visual Studio I have an option Debug->Start neu instance for each project independently.

  • Does the dependent task/milestones across projects in a Master project get updated automatically?

    Hi
    We have a master project which has 5 sub projects in our PS 2013 environment. The milestones in the sub projects have dependency across projects with in the Master project.
    Would like to know, if we update a milestone in one of the sub projects, would it automatically update the other milestone in another project (which has dependency)..?
    Please suggest.

    When you open the sub-project, you can see the corresponding linked tasks in grey color. As soon as you modify, can see the changes in the respective linked tasks.
    Later when you open the other sub project, you will get a prompt like "Links between Projects 'project name'"
    choose the task and accept the changes, later click on close.
    Then you can see the changes reflected in the respective tasks.
    Not mandatory to open the master project and expand.

  • Debugging a project!

    Hello !
    I have installed Sun IDM 7.0.1 and I am suing Net beans 5.5 IDE as a development tool. I was trying to debug a project and I get the following error :
    " com.waveset.util.WavesetException: Server exception: java.lang.NullPointerException"
    I have made sure the server is up. It gives me a message saying that it was trying to deploy where in it asks me to provide credentials so that I can log in.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Yes I did do the "Set Identity Manager Instance" and I was using for the CBE target :sandbox changed to dev and switched back to sandbox. At that point when it launched the console i cud log in and everything was working fine. But later WHen i was trying to debug the project ( I am using full and not the remote) it didnt let me log in. And Identity manager instance wasin Embedded when i was changing CBE target and so I left it at athe same embedded level.

  • Debugging question (project with Ant)

    Hi,
    Could anyone tell me how to debug a project with Ant?
    There is no main class to execute.
    Only Ant script runs it as below.
    Thanks in advance,
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <project basedir="." default="all" name="run1">
    <target name="all">
    <java classname="zeus.agents.ANServer" failonerror="true" fork="true">
    <arg line="Nameserver2 -t 0.1 -f dns.db"/>
    </java>
    </target>
    </project>

    how simple was that... Thanks Mark.
    Now I have another problem - how can I specify deployment targets when creating a new dataspace? I'm using a DspCommonCommands.py script, which targets deployments to any server and cluster in the specified domain:
    targets = wlst.get('Targets')
    wlst.invoke('createDataSpace',[dataspaceName,targets],['java.lang.String','java.util.Set'])
    which results in 2 problems:
    1. targeting projects to inappropriate servers (like AdminServer)
    2. targeting project to cluster and all servers belonging to that cluster (which results in errors when trying to start corresponding request_handlers application)
    I thought I can simply list the names of clusters I would like the project to be targeted to, but it results in:
    javax.management.RuntimeOperationsException: RuntimeException occured trying to invoke operation createDataSpace
    Caused by: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: argument type mismatch
    I can't find the class with createDataSpace() method to check what it's all about and how should I format the target names.

  • Sharing User Defined Variables across projects

    Hi,
    I'm wondering if it's possible to share User Defined Variables across projects. What I have in mind is that I would like to have my User Defined Variables configured in a central location and then insert them into my projects as linked variables so that they update automatically when I change their values. For example, I define a variable named Product_Version that has its value set to 9. Then I insert this variable into all my projects as a linked variable. After 2 months the product version changes to 10, so I change the value of the variable to 10 in the location where it is stored and it is automatically updated in all the projects. Can this be done somehow? I'm new to RoboHelp and I can't find any answer. I've been searching for the solution for some time in the product help, on the Internet to no avail. I even contacted Adobe Support and they redirected me to this forum I used Help and Manual before and their way of dealing with user variables was pretty simple.

    Hi there
    Unfortunately RoboHelp doesn't offer up a way to allow this, At least, not directly.
    However, I do believe I found a way to make it happen, The variables are stored in a file named rhvariable.apj. So what you could do is to add this file as a Baggage File to each of your projects that will share the variables.
    Now you would create a Shared Location as well as a new Category in your Resource Manager. This will create a common location to store the apj file.
    Add the Baggage File to the location. Repeat the process for all projects that are sharing the variables.
    Now, when the variable gets changed in any of the participating projects, the shared location should be updated and you can accomplish the goal.
    However, note that even though you will have what you are wanting, it will still require opening each of the participating projects, synchronizing the APJ file and generating the output in order to update it all. No way I'm aware of to escape that.
    Cheers,,, Rick

  • How to refer a common Skins and Templates across projects

    Requirement : I had created multiple projects in an application, what i want to do is to refer the common Skin and Template created across the project.
    I found the way where i can locate the resource bundle across projects, in Project Properties. Is there any other way like that or any config files to be added to incorporate it.

    1. create the application with Template & create adflibrary jar out of that project.
    2.deploy adfLibraryJar
    3.add this jar in to your project. you will able to see the that template in pageTemplate dropdown.

  • TFS 2012 scrum board across projects

    So we have recently upgraded to tfs 2012. I have a query that I can see in team explorer across projects. Our sprint query has Team Project In @Project, OtherProjectName. In team explorer, this works fine. But when I go to the query in the web interface
    and/or the board, it only shows the work items from @Project. I really, really, really love the board. It prevents me from using the stupid scrum power tools to cut up story and task cards for our manual board. I hope this is something that I can make work!
    Anyone?

  • Hierarchical Calculation of POC across Projects

    Hi All
    I m facing problems in calculation of POC across multiple projects in a specific hierarchy. So that all progress of multiple projects be reflected at the top level specific project. I had maintained the relationship across projects through subnetworks.
    When i run cne2. It calculates the progress of multiple projects. CNE5 represents the progress of all projects individually. I want to have the progress of all projects represented in one top level project.
    I want to use the Progress calculation through concept of summarization. For that i defined the hierarchy but i m still unable to use that hierarchy in progress analysis.
    Regards

    Ok i know it is way way late - try specifying the treecolumn

  • Sharing of Tests across Projects

    Is it possible to share Tests across Projects:
    e.g.
    Say I create a Project say v1.0, with requirements R1.1, R1.2 and R1.3 and create Tests named T1, T2, T3.
    Subsequently, when I create Project v2.0, is it possible to search and map T1, T2 to R2.1, 2.2 for the purpose of regression test coverage tracking.
    Thanks.

    Hi
    You can clone projects, but I don't think is possible to map requirements of tests from one project to another.

    Can you provide some background information please?
    Does this happen when you run the app from within jdev or on a stand alone server?
    Have you checked that the jdbc connection you used to build the app is correct (username, password and other connection data)?
    Is this an ADF rich faces application?
    Do you use jdbc url or jdbc data source?

  • Library settings in Jdeveloper (how to make it shared across projects)

    I am using Jdeveloper 10.1.3.4
    I have a folder called com-libraries (which means common libraries) with lots of jar files inside that folder and sub-folders. Currently I have to add one jar file at a time, but Is there a way of instead adding the path of the folder and am good to go?
    Instead of adding libraries for each and every individual projects, I thought of using it across all the projects, like shared libraries.
    I thought of adding it to tools -> Embedded OC4J Server Preferences -> Libraries.
    I add my libraries successfully there. Those changes are reflected in application.xml file.
    But still it does not take effect. I restarted Jdeveloper and but still no help. Is this an issue with Jdeveloper or am I doing something wrong here?
    Is there some other way to use user libraries as shared libraries for all of my projects which I open locally? If yes, then how?
    Thanks in advance for your answers.

    Hi user add the library to the Default Proyect Properties:
    Tools > Default Proyect Properties >Libraries
    You can create a new library with a lot of jars with a particular name "myLibrary":
    Add Library > New or Load Dir.
    Good Luck

  • How to deploy/debug maven project in workshop?

    I've installed m2eclipse in Workshop 10.0. I'm able to download maven projects from a subversion repository. m2eclipse allows right-clicking for maven-install, maven-build, maven-package. Build generates a proper war file.
    But Workshop does not recognize it as a web project so it will not allow me to deploy it to my local server. Anyway to get this to work?
    I know in the past, checkouting out source from SVN/CVS, a project wizard pops up and allows you to set the project type.
    Right now, I'm manually installing my war file to the app server. If I want to do any debugging it will have to be remote debugging. But that requires a few more steps to deal with. A productivity killer.

    The File->import->WAR option might solve your problem.

  • Substitution of Profit center across project structure.

    Dear All,
    Requirement: Need to substitute profit center entered at Project definition level (at all times) to all project elements (WBS elements, N/W header and Activities). Also I need to validate this complete structure for the profit center inconsistency.
    Problem: I have created Substitution rules, which will substitute across all the project objects (only when a new project is created). But if you change the profit center afterwards, it will change only at WBS elements level, however profit center at N/W and Activities will be substituted only when you make some changes to them. To avoid this I have created a validation, which will check across the complete structure.
    Now after changing the profit center using CNMASS for all the objects, even though in physical you can find the new value at N/W header, however while saving it will validate and finds only the oldvalue and hence throws an error.
    Can anyone throw some light on this?
    With regards,
    Harisha

    Hi Martina,
    My problem in detail:
    I am creating a new project structure XXXX (having WBS elements, N/W and Activities) with initial profit center as AA. 1st time while saving the project, profit center AA will be substituted to all objects (I have maintained substitution rules at all objects)
    Now again I will reopen the same project XXXX and I will change the profit center of project XXXX to BB (in the project definition level). With this due to automatic substitution only the profit center at WBS elements will be changed to BB. But not at N/W header and Activities (till you make some changes to N/W or Activity the profit center will be AA only, afterwards if you make any changes to N/W and Activities profitcenter will changes to BB). To avoid this difference I have created a validation rule, which will check the inconsistency of profit center all along the structure.
    Now I am using mass change functionality to change the profit center in onego at all the objects. After making the masschange the profit center at all objects will become BB (but still not saved), however while saving the system validates the profit center and found still N/W and Activities having AA only (in database), so it wont allow us to save.
    If you require further information please ask me again.
    With regards,
    Harisha
