Decimal Place Incorrect

Hi,
I am using obiee 11.1.1.5. In reports we are able to see 2 decimal point but problem is that when we are going to export that report it is showing incorrect decimal. (some time it shows 2 or some some time up to 10). Can please anyone help me how to resolve it or it is bug of OBIEE 11g. Do we have any patch available for that??/
Plz reply as soon as possible.......
Thanks

Hi,
If you are talking about Excel export you can try to fix that in excel by changing the column format (right click -->format cell(s)) .
Also it depends of you need ,you can avoid this by changing the column data type in obiee : add cast(xxxx as char) to the column formula.
hop it helps

  • PO print preview displays incorrect setting in decimal places

    Dear Experts
Please help me on the following condition.
I have a problem in print preview of a PO. It displays the incorrect setting for decimal place in currency.
It shows USD 1.404,00 whereby the amount should be USD 1,404.00
This only happens to a certain vendor that is doing PO for the first time from that country
    Example:
I'm creating a PO for vendor 123. Vendor 123 is located in country A. No PO has been created for any
vendor in country A before. When I saved my PO, in print preview, the decimal setting is not correct.
But when I'm creating another PO, for vendor 234. Vendor 234 is located in country B. There have been
several POs created for vendors in country B before. When I saved my PO, in print preview, the decimal
    setting is correct.
Both vendor 123 and vendor 234 is using currency of USD.
Is there any other setting with the vendor master in regard with the currency decimal setting for each
country for the vendor? Or something that I've missed out?
    Diagnosis:
I've checked with the user profiles->default-> decimal notation. It displays 1,234,567.89 correctly
I've also run OY04, but the decimal setting is correct.
    Thank you
    Regards
    Syukri

this has nothing to do with print preview, it is just basic country setting (OY01) how a quantity and value is written on a PO to a vendor is country xyz.
German uses to comma to seperate decimals, while USA uses the point to seperate decimals
this would be the German version 1.404,00, and this the US version:: 1,404.00
so if an American sends a PO to a German vendor, then the document will show 1.404,00 so that the German can understand that he wants 1404. (and not 1000 times less)

  • Decimal places on the result row is incorrect

    Dear Expert,
I met a problem that decimal places on the result row is incorrect.Anyone can help me?
On key figure balance,we do the currencies translation, also we set the key figure should have two decimal places.
We set a fomular to calculate the total result of Account A,B,C.
(Total result = account Aaccount Baccount C).
If we manually sum up the balance of account A,B,C displayed on analyzer, which are rounded to 2 decimal places, the result should be 601.25(100.61200.38300.26),but the actual total result executed by query is 601.24.
In fact we need the result 601.25 instead of 201.24.
I take the example as following:
    Account      Balance
    Account A  100.61
    Account B  200.38
    Account C  300.26
    Total result 601.24
    Thank you in advance.
    Best Regards,

your "problem" is, that BEx is not totalling the "displayed" values but the real values
try a summation on the following in Excel:
    100,605
    200,375
    300,26
then format the cells to show 2 decimal places only
do you see the result changing?

  • Percentages Incorrect - Not accurate to decimal place

    Hi Experts,
I have a report that will generate sales quantities split by company and the associated % of total sales.
The sales % displays to 2 decimal places but the % is the integer before rounding. i.e. if the % should be 6.99723% it would display 6.00%
How do I get it to round correctly to display correct % splits?
The QTY for each company is calculated via a filter on the total sales qty by company name and the % worked out by dividing the filtered column by the total column.
    Please help!

    Hi
in rpd only, apply cast( measure as real).
here measure is your functionality to calculate % value.
If you are not getting then apply cast( column as real) for each column that you are using to build the % formula..
    Also try this,
and again apply round( whole functionality , 6) and now in answers data format of column properties, select decimal places to 5
And what is the query BI Server is generating for this column, seee.. so that you can easily debug.

  • Decimal places for JPY currency in change documents

    Hi Gurus,
For opportunities in SAP GUI the change documents for JPY show incorrect numbers.
The number is divided by 100 (two decimal places added).
Checked the CDPOS table and found the values already divided (two decimal places added).
SPRO->General Settings->Currencies->Set decimal places for currencies is set for 0 decimals for JPY.
Is there any way I can get correct values in the change documents?
Please advice. Any hint is useful.
    Thx,
    Martin Kuma

    Hi Naren,
Thank you for the tip, however the TCURX table is changed via customizing and should be changed only during the system initialization.
What I would like to do, is to assure that the system displays the values in change documents correctly. It should apply the currency conversion for the data displayed the same way it does for all the tables.
Do you have any idea, how should I do this?
    Regards,
    Martin Kuma

  • Decimal Places in Hyperion Enterprise

Since upgrading to Hyperion Enterprise 6.5.1, we have lost the ability to see any values beyond the decimal point. I can go to View and select decimal places, but it used to appear in the bottom right corner of the Data Entry screen as Value: 7195.1548869 now all I get is Value:7195
Does anyone know how to get that Value to show all the decimal places?

    Hello,
During operation, you must neither delete currencies used nor change their definition of decimal places. Amounts in posted documents could become invalid or incorrect as a result.
You cannot subsequently use R/3 standard functions to make a consistent change to the number of decimal places of a currency in the R/3 system that is already operatively used because the system interprets all amount values on the database according to the number of decimal places of the reference currency that is stored in the system.

  • Decimal Places in Purchasing (multiple currencies)

Is it possible to change the price field to accept more than 2 decimal places in purchasing documents (contracts/PO) in a live production system for multiple currencies ?

    Hi Raja,
No, if the said currencies already have transactions since, in SAP  the values are stored without decimals. This the warning of SAP
<b></b>In a productive system, you must not delete the currencies in use or change the decimal places. This could make amounts in documents already posted incorrect or invalid.<b></b>.
But you can denote in another way viz.
    1 Kg of material X = 0.012 / Kg
can be denoted as 100 kgs = 1.2

  • Changing Decimal places in table TCURX

    Hi There
We have a business requirement to change the decimal places in table TCURX from 3 Decimals to 5 Decimal places. No previous postings have been made in foreign currencies.
If no transaction data has been posted in foreign currencies yet, will this have an impact?
    What will the impact be?
    Regards

    Hi,
    Refer to this SAP text:
In the R/3 System tables currency fields are stored as decimal figures with a variable number of decimal places. The decimal point is not stored in the field in the database. Instead, each currency field refers to a currency key field. In this transaction you assign the number of decimal places to this currency key uniquely. Example: If you have set currency USD to have two decimal places and you post an amount of 100 USD, an amount of 10000 USD is stored in the currency field in the database. Not until this
amount is processed further or is output does the system use the currency key from the reference field to determine the number of decimal places via this table. In this way the table content can be interpreted correctly for further processing or formatted for output with the correct punctuation. If after posting you changed the number of decimal places for USD, for example, to 3, the existing field content of 10000 would be interpreted for futher processing or output as 10 USD (10.000). This would mean that the contents of tables across the system would, for all currency fields containing an amount in USD,
be interpreted incorrectly by 10 per cent. To change the number of decimal places for a currency already in use, you must convert all the tables in the R/3 System that contain currency fields, so that the data integrity remains. This cannot, however, for both organizational reasons and under the runtime
aspect be carried out in a productive system. The following changes to the TCURX table can
thus lead to the loss of data integrity if you make the changes in a productive system or transport them into a productive system:
o Change to the number of decimal places of an existing currency
o Deletion of an entry from the TCURX table (corresponds to changing the decimal places to the standard value of two decimal places)
o Insertion of an entry in the TCURX (corresponds to changing the standard value of
2 decimal places to a different value), if this is a currency code that already exists
Uncritical changes are any made to this table during the Customizing of a new installation or the insertion of TCURX even during operations, if the currency codes have just been entered in the TCURC table using transaction OY03, signifying that no postings to these currency codes can have been carried out yet.

    Eli

  • Changing of decimal places from 2 to 6 digits

    Hi,
Currently, our PO price and GR/GI quantities are being limited to two (2) decimal places only. However, we want to maintain it into six (6) digits so that we can have a more accurate PO price and GR/GI quantities in our record.
We tried to do this in Tcode OY04 but the system issued as the following warning messages:
    1. In a productive system, you must not delete the currencies in use or change the decimal places. This could make amounts in document already posted incorrect or invalid.
    2. In the R/3 System tables currency fields are stored as decimal figures with a variable number of decimal places. The decimal point is not stored in the field in the database. Instead, each currency field refers to a currency key field. In this transaction you assign the number of decimal places to this currency key uniquely.
Can you please explain to me the warning messages further?
    Thank you.

    Hi Jack,
Please never try to change the decimal places in PRD system, you will be in deep deep trouble.
Let me give one example , If the current decimal is set to 2 digit and you are going to change it 3 digit, then  USD 100.00 will become  USD 10.000 for the already posted document.
Please not that, the decimal places are not sotred in the database, when you run a tcode to see any posted data the system queries the currency table and see the value for the decimals, if it finds 3 in OY04, it simply places the decial point afer 3 digit from right, if the decimal is set to 4m it will simple place the decimal point after 4 digit from right.
    Hope this clears your doubt.
    Best Regards
    Hari K.

  • More DECIMAL places for MM price-Not Global

I have read the <u>many</u> postings on decimals. However, I have not seen the exact scenario I'm inquiring about.
I want to increase the decimal places from 2 to 4 for the cost of materials we purchase (i.e. supplier price), but I do NOT want to set this as a global aspect for the company when dealing with numbers/currency.
It's not just a simple matter of setting a different unit of measure, because let's say we order a reel of capacitors - the reel may come in qty of 1,000 or 2,500 (only one example). So, we really need to set price by (ea). The problem is that many of our parts price at .0014 (example) and in SAP that shows a cost or price [depending on where you're looking] of zero. Plus, the Purchasing agent sends a PO with incorrect price information.
<b>It would be very helpful if anyone could tell me how to increase the number of decimal places for specific fields as opposed to globally.</b>
    Thanks you!!

The right tool to do that is the pice unit. This is in the system for ecatly that purpose, to provide more precision in prices. It has nothing to do with unitz of measure that is used for logistical purposes.
If you have a price 0f 0.0014 each you can set a price unit of 1000 and will have a price of 1.40 for 1000. You still can have only 500 or even 1 on stock. the calculation done if you receive your 2500 will be 2500 * 1,40 / 1000 which is of course the same as 2500 * 0,0014
    best regards,    Udo

  • Changing Decimal Places for Currencies (Table V_TCURX)

    The instance is ECC 6.0
We need to change the decimal places for a currency from 0 to 2 decimal places. Is there any impacts of doing that?
Also need to add some currencies which are not in the table. Is there anything need to be careful while doing this. If this table is updated, do we need to update any other tables also which may be impacted?

    Hi,
It is not recommended that when postings have already been made, that a change in the currency be done, as amounts posted can become invalid or incorrect as a result (ie USD 100->1.00), which is most critical in production environment Please go through the note 137626 When you made changes via OY04, the effect of which is across all clients.
To change the number of decimal places for a currency already in use, you must convert all the tables in the R/3 System that contain currency fields, so that the data integrity remains. This cannot, however, for both organizational reasons and under the runtime aspect, in a productive system.
You must never change decimal places in a productive system if you have documents posted with this currency. Such a change could lead to inconsistencies in these documents already posted.
In case you really decide to use decimals you may consider to use SAP conversion services for them to convert all documents aready posted as explained in note 434349.

  • XL REPORTER DECIMAL PLACES

Although may be selected for a Company 6 decimal places (e.g. prices, rates, amounts) XL returns only 2 decimal (in Report Builder and Report Composer). Is there a possibility to increase decimal places in XL? Rounding makes serious differences in results.

Please refer SAP note no. 896207
The following is the content of the note.
You have to edit the registry to change this. Do the following:
    1. Go to Start->Run in Windows and enter "Regedit".
    2. Go to HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\iLytix\XLReporter\Settings and add new string value (Right-click and choose New->String Value) and enter "FloatDecimals".
    3. Press Enter and double-click to enter the decired number of decimals.
Note: This will only affect figures in the Report Designer, and not Report Composer.
Incorrectly editing the registry may damage your system. System registry changes should therefore only be performed by an advanced user who is prepared to both edit and restore the registry. For details about the system registry, please refer to Microsoft Registry Editors help system.
Kindly provide Points if this has resolved your query.
