Decision for New client creation ????

Dear All
We have a situation described below -
In the SAP clinet we have got several company codes and several plants (More than 100). Now my company is selling 1 plant (e. g. D001) to another company. The new company who is buying the plant is a different group company and does not have any relationship with my company at present. hence it is required to create the new company code and new plant. Then subsequently we have to move all the master data and transaction data from existing plant d001 to newly created plant.
New company is supppose to share the same SAP server which we are using at present.
It is also required users of new company should not be able create/change/view data other than their own company code and plant.
Now we have to option as bewlow -
Option 1 - Create the new clinet itself in our server and then create the company code and plant in the new clinet.
Option 2 - Create new company code and new plant under the exsting clinet.
From functional perspective i feel option 1 is better since user restriction in viewing the data of each can be easily maintained.
I would like to here valuable comments from all of you about Pros and cons about these 2 options or even any other idea to address the situation i have explained. In case any one you have any document which provides information on this topic, it would be a great.

Hi,
Go to T-code SCC4, then go to change mode and press new entry. Now enter a (unused) client number along with a short description and other details.
After that please save the screen.
Check your parameter login/no_automatic_user_sapstar (value should be set to 0).
For details please refer SAP Note 68048 - Deactivating the automatic SAP* user.
After this you need to restart your SAP instance so that the change of Parameter comes into effect.
Now login to the system on Newly created client with SAP* user and PASS as the password.
Perform a local client copy using SCCL t-code.

    Hi Parminder,
    Go to Transaction OPPQ- Maintain Plant paramets, OPPR-Maintain MRP groups and copy the setting from Plant 1000 to your new Plant.
    Then create new items again by copying the standard ones.

  • Requirements to go for new TableSpace Creation ?

    It is a more databse question than SAP,
    What are requirements to go for new Tablespace creation ?
    OR
    Why do we need to create new Tablespace evethough, we have around 7 default tspaces there.
    Eg : In my case TSpace PSAPVERTEX  created; vertex is US tax tool.
    I dont think database stores the application specific data in particular TSpace  like  vertex application -
    PSAPVETEX

    That is not correct. You have one default tablespace on database level or one default tablespace for different users (user settings)... but you can never have more than one default tablespace.
    SAP creates more tablespaces to seperate the data and to structure it... but the definition, which object is stored in which tablespace is specified in the create statement of the object.
    So if objects are for the vertex application.. the create statement includes the vertex tablespace PSAPVERTEX.. if not the objects are created in the default tablespace for the user.

    Hi Manjusha,
    When you create a New PSA, one of the approach you could follow is to know the current structure of the organization. i.e. if its Region wise like North, South, East, West etc,
    i.e.what is the current Personnel Area  (PA ) Structure, based on that you can probe the client how further they want to divide Enterprise Structure, keeping in mind :
    1) How they want to group the Employees for Time Management
    2) How they want to group the Employees for Payroll Management
    3) Benefits
    3) Ensuring that further additions is possible, for Eg: if there are unions which needs separate treatment in terms of Time and Payroll. 
    Eg 1: If Company is ABC and if PA is 1) North 2) South 3) East 4) West etc
    Then PSA can be:
    Option a) In PA North the PSA's can be city wise i.e. Delhi, Chandighar etc similarly In PA South PSA's can be Chennai, Bangalore etc if the client want it City wise.
    Option b) In PA North the PSA's can be Dept wise i.e. Purchasing, Sales, Finance, Human Resource Etc and the same PSA's can be in other PA's
    Option c) In PA North the PSA's can be i) Management ii) Non-Management etc, Later if there are unions to be added you can create another PSA for specific Unions in each PA's 
    The above a just some examples, you will have to jointly take the decision along with Client.
    But ensure that you cover all possibilities and also there is scope for new additions.

    I just recently finished a Solution Manager 4.0 on Windows 2003 server box. Then, I performed some of the post installation steps until I had to create a new client. So, I went to scc4 and created a new client. When trying to get access to this new client through SAP*, the default password did not work and the entries were not created in the table usr02. Also, I tried to insert the missing entries into the usr02 table, but had no success after all.
    I hope some of you can help on this, because I am stucked on it.

    i thing you can check in Document Installation guide Solution manager  on Page <b>108</b>
    If you install a new ABAP or ABAP+Java system, in most cases you do not need to perform the client copy for
    the ABAP stack. SAPinst creates three ABAP clients during the installation, client 000, client 001, and client 066.
    You can use client 001 for production.
    The following procedure describes how to perform a client copy manually. We recommend that you
    use client 001 as source client.
    <b>Caution</b>
    If you want to use a client other than the default of 001 as your production client, you have to reconnect
    the Java part to the production client as described in <b>SAP Note 937323</b>.
    <b>Procedure</b>
    1. Maintain the new client with transaction SCC4.
    2. Activate kernel user SAP*:
       a) Set the profile parameter  
          Login/no_automatic_user_sapstar to 0.
       b) Restart the application server.
    3. Log on to the new client with kernel user SAP* and password PASS.
    4. Copy the client with transaction SCCL and profile SAP_CUST.
    5. Check the log files with transaction SCC3.
    6. Deactivate kernel user SAP*:
       a) Reset login/no_automatic_user_sapstar to 1.
    <b>Caution</b>
       You create SAP system user SAP* on the new client   
       before resetting
    <b>login/no_automatic_user_sapstar.</b>
       b) Restart the application server.

    Hi,
    In CRM E-Commerce BOB Web shop we have a requirement wherein new customer creation should go through a duplicate check. Only unique customers should be created as BP in backend GUI, in case a customer already exists with the same credentials, BP should not be created and user should get a message that the customer already exist in the system.
    Currently the system is not preventing me from creating new customers with same credentials.
    In case anybody has worked on the similar requirement or has any idea about the same, Kindly help.

  • Logical system for new client

    Hello experts,
    I want to copy all users and assigned roles from Quality to the production system.
    But as a safety measure I want to copy the existing users and role assignment from production system too one of the test system.
    For this I created a new client in test system. My question is:
    1) Do I've to create a logical system for this new client?
    2) Is there any other step that I need to take beside creating RFC connection?

    It sounds like you want to ask the client some questions to work out what they want from their BI project.
    You have probably been provided with some information about the client and about why they are talking to your company. Use this to choose some specific questions or to try to uncover particular challenges and requirements for that client.
    Based on the requirements you believe they have, you should provide a high level project plan - i.e. what activities you would do, a rough indication of timelines, number of resources, etc.
    Based on this you can estimate how much the project would cost. The cost side should be validated by the account manager in your company as they may know what sort of project scales they usually take on and what sort of costs they generally find acceptable.

    Hi!
    If you followed the procedure, you should have set the profile parameter login/no_automatic_user_sapstar to 0 and restarted application server. After that you can login using SAP* and password PASS.

    For creating the new Client.Follow these steps.
    Create a new client with Tx SCC4
    Logon the new Client with user ID: SAP* and Password: pass
    Start Tx SCCL and choose the Copy profile and source client.
    Schedule the client copy and you can monitor the copy process with Tx SCC3

    Additional header data is on screen SAPMV45A 0309, additional item data on screen SAPMV45A 0459. These screens contain the Include screens SAPMV45A 8309 or SAPMV45A 8459 as user exits.

  • New Client Creation in IDES ECC6

    Hi,
    I have created a new client (900)  using SCC4 and I have added the parameter login/no_automatic_user_sapstar with value 0 before creating a new client.
    Then I've checked the table T000 (client 900 is availabe) and usr02 (client 900 is not available).
    I have restarted the system, No entries in usr02.
    I want to know whether it is possible to create a new client in IDES ?

  • Default password "PASS" for username SAP* not accepted for new client

    I have created a new client, client 200 in my SAP system. I assigned it to a logical system properly and exist as one of the clients on the system together with the default clients "000", "001" and "066". The problem is that when i try connecting to this newly created client using the credentials Username: SAP*, Password: pass i get an error as follows:
    name or password is incorrect (repeat logon).
    I also tried the password that i use to connect to the default clients and i get the same error message. Please assist.

    Set parameter login/no_automatic_user_sapstar with value 0 in t-code: RZ10 then restart SAP system.
    User SAP* may get locked due to incorrect login attempts. So, delete SAP* record from database level.
    > sqlplus / as sysdba
    SQL> delete from sapsr3.usr02 where bname='SAP*' and mandt='<client number>';
    it should show 1 rowe deleted..then
    SQL> commit;
    Now system will allow you to login with user SAP* and password 'pass'
