Declaring a variable in the Script?.

Hi,
Will it be possible to define the variable in the form?..
I have used the DEFINE statement, will the define statement behave as a constant?...Please see the below code:
Defined the variable - 'l_barcode_flag' with the SPACE.
In the perform am changing the variable to X. will it work?.
/:          Define & l_barcode_flag& = u2018 u2018.
/:          perform get_barcode_for_shop_papers in ZPPPF01
/:           using      &WWORKPAPER-WORKPAPER&

I can't use the Driver program to define the variables.

I am working with the evaluation version of labVIEW as well and I have run into another error. I am using a MATLAB script node within a for loop and attempting to pass the for loop counter variable into the script. When I run the code it brings up a 1047 error and says "LabVIEW failed to send variable to the script server. Server:"" ". I looked up the error online which seems to have roots in a failed auto initialization of MATLAB. Is there something that I can do in labVIEW to fix the problem or is it strictly a MATLAB error?
I really appreciate your help.

I'm using Labview 8.6 and Matlab 7.9 2009b on windows 7 (64bit)
when I tried to open the Lorenz Diff Eq.vi....it woes not work and gives the error

I think there is no inital communication for opening the MATLAB server

How to specify a variable in the script logic

I want to pass a variable from the process chain using the prompt statement.
I want to refer to the variable name in the script. When I used the following statement in the script file, I got an error when validating the statement below:
//Increase Wage and Salary & Personnel Exp. by entered percentage
[P_ACCT].[#CE0004020] = [P_ACCT].[CE0004020] * ( 1 + $WS_PERCT$ / 100)
Syntax error:Reference Error: $WS_PERCT$ is not defined
One of the how-to guides indicated that I should use the dollar sign before and after the variable name.
Can someone explain how to specify a variable name in the script.

I tried using the syntax with the # sign (as shown below) but when I validate the code I get an error. The message indicates there is an issue with $WS_PERCT$.
Syntax error:Reference Error: $WS_PERCT$ is not defined
P_ACCT].[#CE0004020] = [P_ACCT].[CE0004020] * ( 1 + $WS_PERCT$ / 100)
Can you please advise if am missing something here in the code.

How to declare variables in the script

My total data is coming from standard print program.
i copied standard form into zform.
i am dispaying regup-skfbt and regud-wrshb in my layout set.
now i want to deduct regup-skfbt and regud-wrshb and display in layout set only.
for the above issue how to solve.

ex: perform (performname) in program(program name)
     using (regup-skfbt )
     changing(regup-skfbt )
goto se38 in the attributes types select the subroutine pool
in tht write as follows:
form <perform name> using in_par
                                changing out_par
read table in_par index 1.
write ur code depends on ur business process
modify out_par index sy-tabix.
endform

I have found similar questions, but with previous versions of Labview and Matlab and no resolution. Could someone please enlighten me? I'm using Matlab 7.4.0 (2007a) and Labview 8.2 and this is the error I get when I try to input a 1D array into a matlab script node.

I have made a zcopy of sales order standard program(ZRVADOR01) and sales order standard script(ZRVORDER01). now my requirement is , in the displayed script there is info window. In that window customer number with field vbco3-kunde is displayed. but the requirement is they want this customer number in the address window. but when i run the transaction with debugging , it is not displaying this vbco3-kunde value in the address window.how to transer this value from this info window to address window . i have tried with set parameter but it is not working. i have tried by declaring a variable in the copied z-standard program and calling in z-standard script but still it is not displaying the value. please let me know the solution for this issue as soon as possible.

Displaying variable in sap-script

       I need to pass a variable to an existing sap-script. But that window is not calling form the print program. It just called dynamically, which contains current date and time. In that window i need to pass the variabe. But the value to the variabel is coming from the print program. How can i pass this variable to the script now...pls help me.

Getting error when passing variable to Matlab script

I am using LabVIEW 2013 Version 13.0f2 (32bit) and MATLAB R2014b (Version: 8.4.0.150421) in Windows 7 Professional Version 6.1 (Build 7601: Service Pack 1).
I am trying to pass measured data to a matlab script to plot but I get errors.
I have made a small program to make the problem easyer to solve and I get this error
Error 1050 occurred at LabVIEW: Error occurred while executing script. Error message from server: ??? Reference to a cleared variable A.
. in MatlabTest.vi
I tried the solution mentioned in http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/4475BC3CEB062C9586256D750058F14B though it was intended for an older version. This gave me this error instead
Error 1048 occurred at LabVIEW: LabVIEW failed to get variable from the script server. Server:"??? Undefined function or variable 'num'.
" in MatlabTest.vi
The problem occures when I try to access the input, in other words I can have inputs to my script as long as I do not use them.
How can I solve this?

I shold of cours have realised that that was what happened but I always use the three clearing lines (close all, clear all, clc) in the beginning of a script to make sure that no old and irrelevant data corrupts my script and did not think about when the inputs were generated.

Hi ,
Each variable define in the context can be used on the layout of the form and/or in script linked to fields.
This can be done in formcalc or in javascript language , without any problem . You have only to acess the correct variable in the script.
For getting variable in a script you must define the complete name of the variable, example "Myform.Header.Data.Myvariable" get access to variable MyVariable define in the context under nodes Header/Data .

Working with TimeZone variables in UCCx script

Hi Team
I'm wondering if you guys could help me to find out the best way to work with TZ variables in UCCx script.
Because of different countries customer has a branches, I need to setup different TimeZones for each country handled by the same centralized UCCx.
In this post they use Java to work with TZ, however, but I prefer another way to work with TZ variables:

My idea is to work with Time Zone variables in the script, so what I did was to create different TZ variables and each one of the them assigned the proper timezone based on the country, so depending of the Trigger involved (DNIS), I can find witch country this call came from and give the right timezone.
The problem I have is that at the time I want to add or subtract two variables of TZ, I got an error because of the syntax. I've been trying different options, but until now, no luck.
Would you mind you guys who had been working on this let me know what is the right syntax to add or subtract TimeZone variables un UCCx?

My approach in the scripts was that basically I allow the department to set their opening hours in the timezone of their choice.
They have a management web page served from CCX that accepts start/end times each day, and a timezone. That all gets stored in XML.
In the script, based on that information I get the current time in whatever timezone is set, and compare that to the XML open/close times.
Similarly for holidays, I get the current date/time in the holiday TZ and compare the holidays to that.

How to SIMPLY use the %DIMENSION_TO_SET% variables into logic scripts

hello,
I'm using a prompt of type "COPYMOVE" or "COPYMOVEINPUT". In this type of prompt, there are 2 columns of dimension members list, one for defining the "source zone" and one for defining the "target zone" of logics.
The left colum of the prompt (for source zone) feeds the variables %DIMENSION_SET% : %ACCOUNT_SET%, %ENTITY_SET%, %CATEGORY_SET%, etc...and these variables can be used in the logic scripts in *XDIM_MEMBERSET instructions for example.
The right colum of the prompt feeds the variables %DIMENSION_TO_SET% : %ACCOUNT_TO_SET%, %ENTITY_TO_SET%, %CATEGORY_TO_SET%, etc...and I don't know how to SIMPLY use these variables in the logic scripts.
I've found a tricky way to do that but I meet 2 problems :
- it is complicated
- the multi-info instruction (BEGININFO/ENDINFO) seems to be bugged as blank lines are added all the time in the code and sometimes I have to wait for minutes when I try to modifiy the package code through BPC for excel eData/modify package menu.
So the question is how to SIMPLY get the %DIMENSION_TO_SET% variables into logic scripts and use them ? Thanks, R.

finally I've discovered that there is no need of BEGININFO instruction.
One can pass several functions to a logic with one FORMULASCRIPT task. The functions definitions have to be separated by instructions. See below :

Installed the essbase in custom manner and standlone mode nt register with the shared services ,
Is this problem with the custom installation of essbase

If you remove the substitution variable and replace it with the actual value (whatever that is), does the code work? That will tell you if the issue is around the substitution variable or not.

How to pass a variable to the shell script and crontab?

here is my script.....
exp userid=username/password@realdb file=/u02/logical_backup/abc_+$date+.dmp log=/u02/logical_backup/abc_+$date+.log owner=oraadmin statistics=none
i want the exported file name as abc_2101.dmp and abc_2101.log (2101 is a date and month)
I want to execute this script daily at 02:00 AM.
so that i edited the crontab -e as....
00 02 * * * ./u02/script/dailybkp.sh
Now what i want is....
1. is the steps are correct for crontab -e?
2. Is the script of the crontab will execute daily at 02:00 AM?
3. how can i rename the .log filename and .dmp file name daily according to the date. for example abc_2001 is today's date and month.how can i replace with the variable.

sorry....i tested with cp command it was working fine...
so, i thought it should work for exp command also.
but its not working....also its not throwing any error....
the crontab -e is having...
00 02 * * * exp userid=system/password@realdb file=/u02/test/n22.dmp log=/u02/test/n22.log owner=scott statistics=none
also i have tested by calling the script.

its not working
but the below one is working....
00 02 * * * cp /u02/test.txt /u02/test/test.txt
also this one is working....

00 02 * * * /u03/script/testbkp.sh
i listed the chkconfig --list crond
crond 0,1,6 = off
2,3,4,5 are on
what might be the reason?

Declare a variable in script logic

I want to declare variable in the beginning of the code , that i could use later on.
something like.
%fiscalYear% = "2010.INP"
Bu i'm able to do that, and BPC documentation is not really helping.
I'd appreciate any insight.

For this, you need to use the select statement. Please refer to the below link:

The variables declared in the select statement can be used later in the code also.
