DECT phone and a BT R15 answer machine

I have a Panasonic DECT phone and wonder if I can connect the R15 to the BT master socket and then connect the DECT to the R15.  Will it work or will it cause damage?

Hi I assume the answering machine you have is the response 15. I cannot see that it would cause any sort of damage to anything, as far as it working OK the best advice would be to try it yet again cannot see why it would not work.

  • Query re dect phone and wired phone on same line

Quite long winded but wonder if someone could help please.
I had a dect phone plugged into the master socket. Due to working from home and need for better functionality than the dect phones could give me I bought a Converse 2300 wired phone and plugged it into the master socket.
I then moved to dect base unit to an extension socket in another room.
The dect phone when plugged into the master socket always showed caller ID.
The Converse which is now plugged into the master socket also shows caller ID.
However, I'm having a couple of problems with the dect phone I've relocated to the extension socket.
Firstly, I get a dial tone on the dect phone but when I try to dial a number I hear the key tones but it then just goes back to the dial tone rather than actually dialling the number.
Secondly, caller ID is not displayed on an incoming call on the relocated dect phone - instead the screen just says 'External'. Called ID is however displayed on the wired Converse phone.
I suspect there's a setting somewhere on one of the phones but I can't for the life of me work it out. Or do dect and wired phones not work together on the same line?
Any advice would be much appreciated!
    Thanks in advance.

Hi, it sounds like there could be a wiring fault with the extension socket, there would not he any settingsbon a phone that would solve the problem. Is there broadband on the line? If so try changing the ADSL filter.

  • Problem with answering machines and PSTN voice mails

    Hi,
We are experiencing issues when we place a call to the PSTN and it is redirected to a answering machine, for example if I place a call to my cell phone and it is powered off normally it will be  answered by the voice mail of my celular company, but in this case whe have two strange behaviors:
1.- the call keeps ringing like my cell phone were available.
2.- the call is connected but we are experiencing something like one way audio, we cannot hear audio from the voicemail, but checking my voice mail on my cell phone I realized that I am able to leave a message.
This two issues occours randomly and for both home answering machines and cell phones voicemails, with regular calls we have no problems.
    we have:

  • Receiving a fax on a shared voice/fax/answering machine configuration

I have changed my phone service to Uverse and I no longer have a unique incoming fax number.  I share the same number with my incoming/outgoing voice and fax.  The "answering machine" is built into my service with AT&T.  I can send a fax without a problem.  During the fax setup process the report says "After answering a call, if you hear fax tones, you can receive the fax manually by either pressing the "Start" button on the printer control panel or by pressing "1 2 3" in sequence on your extension phone.  You can hang up the extension phone after the printer answers."
I can successfully receive a fax when I press the Start button; however, if I press "1 2 3" on my phone (not wired...just a remote) the machine does not accept the fax.  Am I doing something wrong?

    Hi @TonyW63
Since you are doing what you were told, I don't think you are doing anything wrong, I do however think what you were told may be slightly incorrect   I think I remember these, press the 1, 2, 3, instructions applying to some of the older HP fax machines, but I do't believe it works with the newer machines.
Now, it is possible I am incorrect, but we could try something. Do you have a corded phone? Maybe if you try the 1, 2, 3 sequence on a corded phone instead of a cordless it may work.
Frankly, I thought if you picked up a phone call, not knowing it was a fax until the tones started, if you hung it up quick enough the fax would pick it up without you having to do anything, this I suppose only works if you have auto answer on. Based on your description, I guess you don't use the auto answer because then it would interfere with your voicemail
Let's try the 1, 2, 3 with a corded phone and if that doesn't work I will do some further research to see what I can find.

  • BT Freestyle 750 - answer machine messages have wr...

    Hi All,
I have set my handsets to the current day and time but the answer machine quotes the wrong day when speaking the message received details - it always 2 days out ie. later than it should be - when it should quote Wednesday as the day of the message Monday gets spoken out. Any idea why?
    How can I correct this?
    Thanks. George

    Hi georgeturner,
Are you given the option to change the year? I had a look at the userguide and it mentions changing the "date" without really specifying if you can select the correct year - another customer on the forum had a similar problem and by updating the year it fixed the problem for him.
Let me know how you get on.

  • I can be sitting right in front of my phone and dont see that i have gotten a call or text no sounds no thing until look to see if ive missed ant

Getting no alerts or anything to let me know I recived a call or text

Are you certain that your volume is turned up?
If you go to Settings...Sounds do you have a ringtone set for calls and a text tone set?
If you choose different tones here can you hear a sample of the various tones?
Is the mute button on the side of the phone turned on (red indicator means phone is muted)?
If you play music or visit a website with sound (utube, radio staions, Pandora, itunes radio, etc) can you hear it?
If you ask Siri (if you have a newer iphone that supports it) a question do you hear her response?
What model phone and ios version?
Answers to these questions would help narrow down the cause of the problem.

  • Can I use my PB as a phone and answer machine?

    Hi.
I use Palm desktop as my diary and it seems to have the ability to dial phone numbers. Could I use my bluetooth headset the same way as I use it in Skype, only to talk on my landline? Is there any software that will act as an answering machine if someone dials into the computer?

  • Hi all, i can't sync over wifi between my iPhone 4 and Windows 7 64 bit, wifi sync works with the same phone and my Windows 8 machine, tried solutions from other threads with no luck, just thought i'd see if anyone else had any ideas, thanks.

Hi all, i can't sync over wifi between my iPhone 4 and Windows 7 64 bit, wifi sync works with the same phone and my Windows 8 machine so the problem seems confined to Windows 7. I've tried solutions from other threads -
Making sure everything is allowed through firewall
    Rebooting phone/laptop/router
    Disabling ipv6
Disabling all networks except the one curently on
    Re-installing iTunes
    Restoring iPhone
No luck with any of those unfortunately so i just thought i'd see if anyone else is still without wifi sync after trying those as well and if you ever found a fix, thanks.

I just wanted to leave a note that it's working now. I'm not sure if it was the latest iTunes update that got it working or that i decided to start a new library instead of using the one i had backed up on Windows 8 (it didn't occur to me to check using the old library when i re-installed iTunes). But if anyone is having this problem, it might be worth trying again with a new installation of iTunes to see if the latest update works for you, and if not, try using a fresh library instead of a backup (by fresh library i mean discard your old library completely and start a new library, not just restore as new iPhone, a whole new library).

  • Keypad and home answer machine

I like to call my house from my phone to see if I have any messages. I dial my number with the phone and when my machine answers I need to key in numbers 1,2,3 to get my messages. How can I get back to the number pad to type the 1,2,3 from the screen I am on without ending the call? Thanks

While you are in the call, as you take the phone away from your face, in the center of the screen, one of the options is the keypad. Page 30 of the iPhone guide shows you the screen. It is available as a pdf file on the Apple iPhone page.
    Hope this helps you.

  • Graphite 1500 Phone / Answer Machine issue

    Hi,
Don't know if anyone can help with this please....we had issues with our original graphite machine as it wouldn't record. Having gone through BT support etc they advised us to take it back to the shop and exchange it. We did this, but now the replacement doesn't work properly either, as it doesn't record all of the message - eg you often miss the person's number or something as it does not record the last few seconds of the call. Does anyone have any suggestions please? It's rather frustrating!
    Thanks in advance.

Aaargh!  Tried the "recording my own message" suggestion.  No good!
Is it worth trying to go directly to the manufacturer?  I am really annoyed about this problem and the fact that it's such a common issue.  Can't BT help the customers that have invested in these telephones?  I have 3 phones and the main base, so it wasn't the cheapest option to purchase at the time.  However, I thought I'd be safe with such a well known company!  Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease help!

  • BT Freestyle 750 cordless phone with answer machin...

    Hi
Can anyone help.  The keypad on the phone is locked and I'm therefore not able to make calls with the phone.  Can only receive calls.  Don't know how the keypad got locked.  Any help would be appreciated.

Er, you could try reading the user guide?
if you have lost it download another one.
I found one on the BT site where it says press and hold the hash key # to lock/unlock.

You must have pressed the # key for a few seconds.

  • Ghost calls, auto answer machine and static interference during calls.

Hi I have so many issues since I joined EE network. It's my first time with EE and the experience so far has been a very disappointing one.
    Don't know where to begin.
The figures below are average number of times.
Static interference - 6 out of 10 calls will experience a static interference. Even after few immediate attempts
Ghost call - 8 out of 10 calls will experience what I call are ghost calls. It's when I call someone it's dead silent, no ring tone but on the screen it shows the call has been received and the timer is on. Really annoying When I have to reach that person immediately. It takes several attempts before the call actually connects.
Auto answer machine - this ones not just annoying to me but the caller whose attempting to call me. It's embarrassing too.
8 out of 10 callers have been complaining to me that they're calls kept on going to the answer machine. But during that time my phones been free and showing full coverage . I know this because I experimented few times where I got the caller to call me after meeting them in person few mins after the issue.
Recent issue that occurred has me monitoring my data usage.
I connected my phone to iTunes on my PC and I noticed it turned on something with a chain link on top of my iPhone screen. I didn't take much notice of it thinking it's probably because I connected to my PC. Couple of hours later I receive a message from EE informing me that I used up 80% of my data. That's when I realised it turned on my personal hotspot. But who was connected to it? I don't remember turning it on and my PC was connected to the router via Ethernet cable. Wifi dongle was disconnected from my PC so it wasn't the PC using up my data. Now I'm having to worry about using all my data before my monthly reload I got another 24 days left before my next reload, which is a long time because I need my data for the line of work I'm in.
I never experienced any of those issues with my previous network provider. Wishing I haven't changed now.

    Hi
    Welcome to the EE Community!
Sorry to hear you are experiencing these problems. I had the same kind of issues when I got my first iPhone 5 and totally understand how frustrating it can be.
The issues you have described sound like a mix of both network and device issues.
Have you had a look at our Coverage Checker to see what the signal is like in your area?
What model iPhone are you using?
    Thanks.

  • BT3920 Quad Phones with Answering Machine from Tes...

Hi, Have bought BT3920 Quad Phones with Answering Machine from Tesco which only has a short User Guide.  Tried to get fuller guide on-line AND tried ringing all the BT Helpline numbers I can find, but to no avail.  It seems BT know nothing about the BT3920 and it looks like it was made specially for Tesco.  My problem is that I need to find out how to access the answering machine remotely and with no User Guide have found it impossible.  Have tried numerous methods but no luck.  Anyone got one of these phone sets who can advise please?

I have now worked out how to pick up messages remotely, but could still do with the full User Guide!  If anyone else gets these phones you have to go into Menu, scroll through Anwerphone selections and select "Ans settings", then select "remote access" and select "On" (it must come out of the factory switched onto "Off").  The default factory setting for picking up the messages remotely is by entering "*0000" on the keypad of the phone you are ringing from, but wait until answer message starts first.  Hope this helps someone else in need!!!
