Default E71 Facebook App

Hey Everyone,
I just installed the Facebook app for the E71 from the Ovi store......what a mistake!!!! This app is terrible.
Does anyone know where I can get the old default Facebook app that comes on the E71? I know it is just an app that goes to m.facebook.com. I currently have a bookmark on my home screen but I'd like to have a proper icon.

E71 Latest OVI Facebook app no good!!!

Having downloaded the latest facebook app from the Ovi store specifically for the E71/E72 phones I honestly thought
it would have been thouroughly tested with all the bugs ironed out before release.....................how wrong was I ????
After the initial instal the program seems to work fine once logged in..................great :-)
However once I log out then try to log in again all I get is the screen showing "Loading" after its connected.
Tried this twice now with uninstall/ re-install same problem :-(
Poor show if you ask me & I wish they wouldn't offer apps that dont work as they should or have not been properly Beta tested as even "free" apps cost some people money :-(

i download it through ovi, install.... and i cannot find the program anywhere on the phone... the rest of the stuff installs fine, but facebook is nowhere to be seen....

I have just updated my Facebook app to version 11.0 - and don't like it - is there anyway for me to get back the previous app - I think it was 6.0 but not positive -

I Have just updated my iphone 5 Facebook app, to version 11.0 and do not like it. Is it possible for me to go back to my previous version?

Okay, I found the answer myself. Going to about:config and setting browser.showQuitWarning to true, restored that option and brought it back. Thanks to anyone who is about to post. If this is false by default, it has got to change.

Facebook Apps do not display properly in Firefox

Certain Facebook apps don't properly display in Firefox.
Some forms or articles (content) are cut off and don't diplay all fields or buttons or text,
not allowing completion and submission of forms or reading all of text.
Mac OS X 10.6.8
Firefox 8.0
These same Facebook pages display properly in Safari 5.1.1

That content is in a not scrollable iframe.<br />
The height of that frame is probably set via JavaScript to the correct height after that iframe has loaded and that didn't seem to have happened in your case and you only get the default height of about 600px.<br />
You can try to right click in that frame: This Frame > Open Frame in New Tab
Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
* Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
* Firefox > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Facebook app stopped working

I cannot get my facebook app on my iphone4 to allow me to post status updates or check-in places. It used to work just fine, now it just stopped. It keeps saying the error message below if I try to check in & if I post a status it lets me type and click post, but then the status never shows up. I've emailed facebook support & reported the app problem but nobody (not surprisingly) responded to my complaint. I uninstalled & reinstalled the app and I still have the same problem. Everything is up to date on the phone. Basically the app is just a read only for the news feed & profiles, etc. Any reason why it stopped working or where I can go for someone to fix it??? Thanks!!!

Thank you for your post. Please try and perform a soft reset on your device using *#7780# the security code by default is 12345.
Performing a soft reset will not delete any of your data, however it will restore all your device settings to how they were when new.
If you are still experiencing problems with this app then plug your Nokia Asha 31 into your computer via usb and install(or reinstall) the latest software version using Nokia Suite.

Facebook app from Nokia store won't detect data

My Facebook app on my E5-00 will only detect the wifi at my house and nothing else. So, when I'm away from home I cannot access this app... The settings on the app doesn't provide a choice of what data I want to use, so what can I do? I've already deleted and downloaded again several times with the same results. Help

When you highlight Internet (not open it), does that have a small flag, at the right hand side? That is the default connection which you can change via Options. Now we have checked the destination Internet is the default connection. After that, when you open Internet, do you see an access point which matches your network operator?

Facebook App closing when trying to view albums or 'photos of me'?

Since I updated my Facebook app to the most recent update, everytime I go to the sidebar and press photos to view photos of me or albums the app just closes.
Any idea why or how I can fix it? I cant access any of my albums or pictures. I've tried going to my profile and selecting photos from there also but the same thing happens.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
* Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
* Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

TS1702 Can't access my photos with Facebook app

After resetting factory defaults on iPad I too cautiously didn't allow Facebook to access my photos on my iPad. Now I can't work out how to authorise it. In settings neither app can see the other. Any advice gratefully received

As first step, go on Settings of oyur IPad by pressing the appropriate icon on your "home screen".
Now select the voice "Privacy" > "Photos" from the menu that showed you, find the Facebook App and moves the stick on the right to allow it.

i would like to print msgs from iphone facebook app,inbox messages,which i hav unfortunately deleted on my computer facebook inbox,how do i print msgs..i have an epson iprint app n epson printer...

Hi,
This Menu item only works if you have Buddy Lists (any other account other than iMessages).
By default there are two accounts in Messages when you first start it up.
The iMessages one requires the Apple ID but the Bonjour one only needs to be Enabled (Check box in the account settings)
Bonjour is the one that uses the fact Macs can "see" each other on LAN and then uses this to Instant Messages to other Computers (Macs) on your LAN.
Once the iMessages account has an ID it should be logged in.
In the Main Window select the "To" spot.
Type in your name *as it appears in the Contacts App > My Card.
Select your iPhone Number.
Send an iMessages to your iPhone Number.
The main window should then show the sync of the received message of the iPhone making it look like you are talking to yourself.
If you have not already the next step is to add the Apple ID in use in iMessages on the Mac on to the iPhone Settings for Messages there.
this then links the iPhone and Mac for iMessages purposes.
Next in iOS 8.1 and Yosemite you need to enable the "Text Forwarding' on the iPhone. This (if you are close enough to your Mac) should make the Code Number appear on the Mac version
Type the Number into the iPhone.
Now they should "sync" SMS messages.
Summary.
You can't tell other than trying to send an iMessages whether the account is logged in or not.
From what you posed I can't be sure if you have done the pairing.

N97 facebook app NEWS FEED and WALL display issue

I've noticed a few people posting on Facebook fan pages for Nokia N97 orig and mini that the NEWS FEED and WALL pages are blank, yet you can login and view other pages such as FRIENDS, PHOTOS and INBOX.
When refreshing NEWS FEED and WALL, the page refreshes with no error, but does not display anything.
I changed all my facebook privacy settings to defaults in case that was the problem, but no luck. Also confirmed that the NOKIA application was allowed to access information in my facebook account.
Any suggestions?

I haven't used the standard Facebook app for over a year ! Try Nokia Social Messaging from beta labs (as mentioned) also Socially really good as an alternative, I use both.

"Incorrect Signature" for Facebook App

Hi all
Just bought a Nokia E71 and downloaded the Facebook application through OVI. However, having tried to run it (and after having found where the damn thing even installed to), I've hit a wall. When I put in my sign-in, it comes back "Incorrect Signature". I think it's got something to do with the connection protocol. Does anyone else have this application working on a Nokia? Is there a way I can tell this particular program to use a different connection? 'Chat' asks what connection type I want to make (MMS, Internet, WAP, etc.), but the Facebook App has no option for this that I can find.

Changing Privacy settings to allow foto upload to iPad Facebook app

I tried to upload a foto fromi pad to Facebook app. I was asked if Facebook could access my FOTOS and I declined. Now I can't upload FOTOS. How do I change my privacy settings to allow foto upload?

If you can't remember the restrictions code then was it on the iPad when you last backed up ? If not then you can restore to that backup and it should be removed. If it was on the iPad when you last backed up then the only way to remove it is to reset the iPad back to factory defaults and you can then re-sync your content back to the iPad - you won't be able to restore to the backup as that will keep the code in place.

Facebook app cant post updates or images

This is really weird & started a month or so ago after an iOS update.
At home my iPod works fine & i have no issues.
At my office, using the facebook app, I can not post a status update or comment on one - it just disappears.
All other forms of messages work fine - it is only & specifically if i post a comment on facebook. (a facebook 'like' or priviate message is ok)
I thought it must be something to do with the wi-fi - but after checking the router there are no weird settings, everything is just the default settings.
Facebook on my office computer is fine (using same wi-fi), all other apps & internet stuff works fine on my iPod at the office too - its only this one 'status update' issue that doesnt work.
Note: Using Safari on the iPod & m.facebook - i CAN post updates, so its just the FB app not working.
What could this be?

Facebook app will not pull up my account!

The facebook app keeps saying retrieving my account but it never does!! It has downloaded my Facebook pictures to my touch pad but that is it. What can I do? I have changed my facebook settings also. My touch pad is only a week old. Thanks!

I may have found the fix to the problem. I tried hard resetting twice yesterday. It worked on the second attempt. Here's what I did:
In the 1st attempt, after taking a backup, I went to Device Info -> Reset Options -> Erase Apps and Data. After the reset process, I let it restore all my apps, and then started the facebook app. Same problem. Even without entering my credentials, it got stuck on 'retrieveing my account'.
In the 2nd attempt, I reset my device the same way and as soon as the restore process got over, I changed my time-zone to US. You see, the default country I select is US, but since I'm in India currently, I had kept the time-zone as India. Also check your region settings are kept as US. Then I let it re-install facebook. After facebook was installed, I shut my device and restarted it. and then clicked on facebook.
And finally it asked me for my account credentials.
Now I switched my time zone back to India and it's working fine.
Lemme know if this works for you.

Purchase in facebook app was applied to incorrect payment type

I just found out that a purchase I made in facebook app was applied to gift card. I did not intend to apply it to that card but to my phone bill which is how I've done before. Somehow the billing changed the default (bill my phone bill) was changed to a card I never intended to have purchases applied to. how do I rectify this so it does not happen again?
