Default export location not set to pbk file location
(Pixel Bender 2.1.432154 On Windows 7 64-bit)
After opening an existing .pbk file and going to 'File>Export Filter for Flash Player...', the default location is [Username]\Documents\Adobe\Pixel Bender in stead of the location of the file you are trying to export. Only when you do 'File>Save Filter As', the default export location is set the same as the location of the file.
Is this intentional?
I would prefer the 'Export Filter for Flash Player' to always use the location of the file you are trying to export, not just after you did 'Save Filter As'. It would save me some time .

Ah, I see, when you open PixelBender first then go to to 'Open Filter' and navigate to where your filter is saved, everything works fine.
I usually double click the pbk files through Windows Explorer, or open them from the Project Explorer in FlashDevelop (which opens the file as if it was opened through Windows Explorer). So it seems like this happens when you haven't 'visited' the pbk file through the explorer in Pixel Bender (like 'Open Filter' and 'Save Filter As').
I have the files saved in a project folder ('Z:\Users\[Username]\Documents\Flash\Procedural\Terrain generator\bin\Shaders', Windows 7 is installed on 'Z:\')
So you should be able to replicate the problem by navigating to a pixel bender kernel file that is saved in a non-default location, with Explorer or equivalent. Then choose 'Export Filter for Flash Player'. Which will then show you 'Z:\Users\[Username]\Documents\Adobe\Pixel Bender' in stead of the location where the pbk file was saved. And even though 'Save FIlter As' makes Pixel Bender Remember the last used location, 'Export Filter for Flash Player' does not. Or at least, not for me.

Hello, I am relatively new to XML. I am trying to read an xml document to parse some information out of it. I basically have a large amount of data I want to load into my program. I could program it all in as static arrays, but I thought xml would be easier, and make changes easier.
I am trying to use JDOM, and have the project set up. My problem is when I read the document, it always gives a root element not set exception. Here is my xml file:

d.getContent();Whenever I try to do anything with the contents of the Document, like d.getContent(), it always throws a java.lang.IllegalStateException: Root element not set. It reads the file successfully (as far as I can tell), but it's like the xml file is empty. I can't find anything on the web about this problem, and every tutorial says to do exactly what I've done, but never mention any possible problem. It can find the file, and I can write to an xml file as in other tutorials, but reading one in is a problem.
I chose JDOM because it seemed simplest for just reading in a large amount of data and parsing it out into variables. This is a very simple project, so I don't want to spend a lot of time writing xml parsing code, I'm only using xml because it will probably be easier than hard coding the data. Would a different xml api be easier to use for my purposes?

Hi, I just had an issue with a photoshop document, my mac book temporarily crashed the screen glitches and deleted some vital layers I had constructed (took half a day) I thought I could correct it and saved it a few times in a panic and now i really need to go back to the save I made a day ago, my time machine is not set up and I just realised my files haven't been automatically uploading to cc is there anyway I can go back a day in saves?

Video editing software only needs to save the steps taken to achieve the edit, and references the actual video files from the hard drive. So the saved files are only tiny, and it takes very little drive space to auto save to incrementing file names. I think most regular posters to this forum make a point of updating the file name of a large project every hour or so, and as a direct response to reading so many horror stories like your own. My digital audio workstation works on the same principle; it creates a backup save just in case things go wrong (which--knock on wood--hasn't happened to me) and only references audio/MIDI files that are related to the project.
My advice is to always, always back up sensitive documents. There are lots of ways of doing this, from manually to automatically. (e.g., A lot of higher-end routers let you connect external storage via USB so you can run backup software that detects any changes to a monitored folder over a network and then backs up any changed/updated documents to the connected storage. I prefer to do it myself manually, though.) -

Just wondering if there is a way to change the default location when you export a file - When I press the shortcut key (Ctrl-E), I'd like the location to already be in a specific folder I have on a network.
At the moment, me and my work colleagues are wasting time navigating through folders, when it would be so easy if we could set a default folder! If this isn't possible, is it possible to add a shortcut to the folder on the side of the export screen (you know, where it says Desktop, Network, Personal Folder etc...).
I've tried looking online for answers but can't seem to find any!
Hope my question makes sense, and I'd appreciate any reply

Last night Chrome and Google 1+ locked down my pc because I disconnected plus one. I could not even get to Norton. This morning I talked to Norton and they moved my system to FF, I have two accounts Donnie p grant and Donnell Grant. I play Mafia Wars and a browser must be compatible with Client Addon. I am a gamer and had always used FF but was having trouble and switched to Chrome. When Norton moved my files back to FF she downloaded them but I can't get everything back to where it should be and I do not understand so much of it. Please help me set my FF account back up. Default customer type not set by default
hello,
we are having and issue with the "customer type" not being set by default.
When a new customer is created (when they make a purchase) I would like them to be set as “Retail Customer” as their customer type .
I have set the default customer type to be “retail customer” however this is not applied to the customer.
has anyone else struck this problem? is there a fix for this?

If you create a column in a list that already has items it will not automatically set that column to the default option. Instead any pre-existing items will have a blank value until/unless the item is next edited. At that point you can chose a value but
it still will not populate with the default value.
That is deliberate as it may be entirely valid to have blank entries and so overwriting those would be much worse than leaving entries blank. -

maddyas you are using text item to write SQL query by the user
so for that you need to use the exec_sql package to parse the text items query and get definitions and values of the columns being
resulted in the result set of the query.
once your query is execute to the desired connection then you need to use fetch the result to the CSV file by use of the TEXT_io package
which will open the text file with .csv extension and you have to pass the each line to that text file with comma separated values as "ss","rr" etc.
or you can use the ole2 package to call the excel application and then fetch the data of exe_sql query to that. -

The docType is properly set when retrieving the values:
String s1 = docType.getPublicId();
String s2 = docType.getSystemId();
String s3 = docType.getName();
When, saving the Doc to a file using the JAXP transform, the doctype doesn't appear?

There is no way of setting or modifying the DOCTYPE declaration in the XML document itself; according to the documentation, this is not allowed by the DOM Level 2 specification. However, you can do it in the javax.xml.Transformer object (this is the object you use to write the xml out):
TransformerFactory tFactory = TransformerFactory.newInstance();
Transformer transformer = tFactory.newTransformer();
transformer.setOutputProperty(javax.xml.transform.OutputKeys.DOCTYPE_SYSTEM, "name.dtd");
...Check the javax.xml.transform.OutputKeys javadoc for more details about the properties you can set for the transformer.

MediaElement can not set Position when file reaches NaturalDuration
I have created a mediaplayer in which I added a button to go one frame forward.
I'm getting the total duration after the media is opened with
mediaPlayer.NaturalDuration.TimeSpan
In this case the value is {00:02:27.7720000}
Every time I click on the button I do

If I let it play, it plays until total duration is reached. Same goes for fast forward.
But if I go frame by frame, I can't get beyond {00:02:26.7720000}
It seems like I can't set the position once it reaches {00:02:26.7720000}.
Also, when I rewind one frame from total duration, it skips to {00:02:26.7720000}.
I tested with another file and that one also has a one second difference in total duration and position.

If I get the position right after I set it, than I do get the right position.
But if I get the position later it will be set to {00:02:26.7720000}, even if I set the position manually to a value between {00:02:26.7720000} and {00:02:27.7720000}, it will jump back to {00:02:26.7720000}That was one of the things I found too.
But that doesn't explain why it does get the right position (and plays to the end) when playing normally or in fast forward.
The only difference is that I get the current position in a DispatchTimer when playing normal or in fast forward.

Bug: Export dpi not set correctly
Export image as jpg
set the constrain maximum size say 6 x 4 inches.
set the dpi, in my case 402 dpi
export the image.
Open the image in PS (or other editor) and look at the image size.
LR has correctly resampled the image but hasn't set the dpi/resolution metadata correctly, it leaves it as 75dpi.In PS, what is the Pixel dimension of the image? if it is very large, then put in 402 and you will see the pixel dimension you want closer to the 6 in by 4 in you want.

This problem happened once before and it was related to adjusting an image size in Photoshop Organizer. I don't use the organizer anymore but this problem has resurfaced!!!
Same problem here.
This has happened on two individual computers both running elements 13 printing to the same printer.
As mentioned above, the users have taken to printing using windows print and fax viewer.
I've done a clean install of elements 13 and restarted the print spooler. no joy

Adobe Reader will not set as default application for .pdf in windows 8.1 pro x64
When I install adobe reader the icon/app changes from windows reader to Pick an app, I choose change and select adobe reader, the icons on my desktop flicker but nothing actually changes.Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Default Programs\Set Default Programs\Set Program Associations, Select adobe reader, Choose defaults for this program, PDF is unticked so I tick it and choose save, go back in and it is unticked again??? Right click on a pdf file, choose open with, choose default program, use this app for all .pdf files is ticked, select adobe...Still nothing changes, stays on pick an app. I uninstall adobe reader then the pdf icon changes to and default opens with windows reader again. Reinstall adobe reader and back to the same thing. ???? I am a power user, build configure computers and subsequent software, started with DOS 6.0, learned unix/linux/networking concepts/networking security/server versions of windows/active directory. The only solution I could think of was to hack the registry which I looked for but could not find. I am running 8.1 pro x64, I just discovered that windows reader (which I cant uninstall) has the same problem when adobe reader is installed. Windows will not allow either one to be set as default while they co-exist.
After an extended session with chat only to be told that since Adobe Reader was free they could not help me :-(... I figured it out myself.
I opened a administrator: command prompt window and typed "regedit" Through extensive searching and stumbled on this key located at... HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-2274202122-2588692262-2244265822-1001_Classes\.pdf\OpenWithProgids The S-1-5-21...1001... is my current logged on user, your value may differ slightly. Typically the builtin disabled administrator account is 1000 and when you install windows and create a user account "John Doe" it will have administrator priveleges and be auto numbered 1001, every user account created therafter will increase by 1 ie...1002, 1003, 1004 etc. even if you remove (delete) an account and re-create it you wont get the same number, the system will use the next number in sequence. The old one will have been trashed never to be used again. Again here is the key...

Personally I selected computer on the left side and the went to file/export then chose a file name [01 29 2014 regbackup.reg] and location. Then I selected "OpenWithProgids" and did the same thing,[pdf.reg] this saves a backup of the entire regestry and the key you are about to delete as a safety net. When you are done all you have to do is go to a pdf file, right click and choose open with...Adobe Reader - the box always use this app should already be checked.
I did this and it works yet because improper regestry modification can crash your system I am compelled to warn... Use at your own risk. If you are uncomfortable modifying your registry I would suggest consulting with someone qualified and has resources to do offline registry modifications/restorations which makes it VERY important to do the computer export registry backup. -
Can not set source file for Fireworks png in Dreamweaver
I recently purchased Adobe Design Premium CS5 to replace my CS3, but I have a big
problem. When I export a png in Fireworks to Dreamweaver it does not set the source
file correctly. It places the Fireworks object on the page, but when I select the table
that holds the Fireworks object, the path for the source on the Properties panel is
wrong - it says menu2.png. The correct document relative path is dress_images/menu2/menu2.png.
When I drag the Point to File icon over the menu2.png on the Files panel, it correctly displays
the full path, but when I let go of it, it sets the path back to menu2.png. I can not even type it
in the source box and get it to stay.
Here is the problem. When I click on the Edit button, it says it can't find the png. It is using
the full path from the C: drive instead of the document relative path. If I browse to the png file
and open it in Dreamweaver then click the Done button, it saves the png file but does not change
any of the content on the HTML page.
Fireworks and Dreamweaver CS3 worked perfectly here. Help!
I just tried to do this on another computer. This time when I pasted the Fireworks HTML onto the
page in Dreamweaver it set the path correctly (it was a root relative path instead of a document
relative path). I tried to edit in Fireworks using the Edit button, and it opened Fireworks without
any problem. I made some changes then clicked the Done button. Now the Done button is suppose
to be like magic. It is suppose to save the changes to the png file, make the changes on the HTML
page in Dreamweaver, and change any of the supporting files (images) that have been edited. It
always worked this way in CS3, and anything less than this would be a huge step backwards. In this
case, it saved the changes to the png, but did not make any other changes. The web page in
Dreamweaver is still the same. How do I get the Done button to work its magic using CS5.
Another problem - when I paste the code onto the page, the page looks totally messed up. If I save it
and reopen it then it looks fine. However, this never occurred with CS3. Aren't updates to software
suppose to be improvements?

NathanYes, the web site is correctly defined in Dreamweaver. I teach web design for both high school and
adult school, and I have done this procedure 100's of times with CS3. There is something different with
CS5. I took your suggestion and imported the Fireworks HTML using Insert -> Image -> Fireworks HTML,
but it still does not work. I can edit it in Fireworks, hit the Done button, and the png file is saved but
the HTML page remains the same.
Also, the export does not get the path right, and it will not let me set the path right. The only way the path
is right is if the page that I am pasting the Fireworks HTML is in the same folder as the png. It always
sets the png's path as menu.png. Therefore, if the page is in a different folder, the document relative path
won't find it. This was never a problem with CS3. In fact, you could paste the code using Control-V and it
would work 100% of the time. That is how we always did it. When exporting from Fireworks, I would set
Export to "copy to clipboard" then move to Dreamweaver, click where I wanted the code pasted and do Control-V and presto it would
always work. You could come back a month later, select the table, click the Edit button, make changes
in Fireworks, click the Done button and the changes would be reflected on the HTML page in Dreamweaver without
doing anything more. I have tried it with "copy to clipboard" and I have tried it with "export HTML file". Neither
works. There is definitely something different between CS3 and CS5, and right now I am missing CS3.
