Default G/L account description in account assignment

Hello Experts,
We are on SRM 7.0 having an issue with the field General Ledger Account description in default value settings.
We get the default G/L account populated currently but not the description ..Even If we select another account from F4 description field is still blank.
Any ideas how to acheive this without enhancing the standard components?

    Any idea how could this happen?

    have you checked user exit MV45AFZZ? Maybe there is a coding inside, changing the default value when creating a new sales order.

  • Default G/L Account assignment value in Shopping Cart

    Hello Experts,
    Need your help but urgently.
    There is a Requirement of creating new p.Category so inECC New material Grp is created and i repliczte the same in SRM system Development . Now i went to Default account assignment and assign my new P.Cateogry with default G/L account for Cost center.
    It was working fine in Development but when i transport these settings to my SRM_quality system the source system for all the P.Categories Source system changes from QAS300SYCC to DEV300SYCC. i went to BDLS and run old and new logical system  for table BBP_DET_ACCOUNT and source system gets changed but still when i create a Shppping cart default G/L account is not comming  for all the P.Catoegories except the new one which i have created .

    Please see the answer from a development colleague :                                                                               
    - We cannot recommend to transport IMG table V_BBP_DET_ACCT entries          
      from DEV to PROD for the following reasons:                                
      a) F4-help entries of field CATEGORY_ID contains category GUIDs            
         of LOGSYS DEV which may not exist in LOGSYS PROD.                       
      b) If already entries in PROD exist in that IMG table it maybe             
         overwritten.                                                            
    - Recommendation:                                                            
      Please maintain IMG table entries with CATEGORY_ID reference               
      always manually using F4-help (dropdown). Sorry for the inconvenience,     
      but CATEGORY_ID /GUID triggers backend finding and is a substantial        
      and unique key field in every SRM system which cannot easily be            
      reused in other logical systems.                                           
      Also see note 872533 top 3.

  • Linking material Group and the Account Assignment...

    Hi Gurus,
    I have a requirement from the client in which they want to restrict the entry of the Account assignment when a particular material group is enetered in the PO.
    The requirement is actually either to have F (order) populated in the account assignment field in PO (display only if possible) when a material group in enetered in the PO.
    Can anyone advise me of some configration settings for this please?? I know we could be able to do it as a customised setting for the customer and making changes to the PO program but my concern is will it affect the system and infact the PO program itself.

    material group cannot be assigned as default to an account assignment category. The only link that can be formed is between item categories and A/c assignment categories. As some one has already pointed out, determination of G/L account for posting for a specific material group is possible.

  • MIRO, multi-account assignment, error message M8063,

    When I do MIRO referring to a PO with multi-account assignment and Indicator GR-Based Invoice Verification is untick, I receive the following error message u201CDocument does not contain any items Message no. M8063 Diagnosis The document contains no posting lines with a value other than zerou201D.
    But when I make a good receipt MIGO, so I can post my invoice correctly (MIRO).
    The business process is to post a MIRO referring to a PO with multi-account assignment without a GR.

    the GR-Based Inv. Verif indicator in vendor master record is untick.
    however, I can now post ,but before, in MIRO, I have to enter the quantities and the amounts in the multi account assignment dialog box (in MIRO, clic on the buton called Acct Assgt).
    so the question now, why doesn t  the system default the multi-account assignment from the PO?

  • How to make default account assignment category in planned order?

    Scneario Description:
    1. Sales order for a configurable parent item is created in ERP & order BOM is changed & transferred to APO. In APO MRP run takes place for that parent item, which creates a planned order with account assignment category "M" (M:Individual Customer w/o KD-CO.
    2. Now based on the dependant requirement generated for parent item, MRP takes place for one of the child item in ERP & purchase requisition gets created for child item.
    Question:
    1. Can anybody help me how i can make default account assignment as "F" (F:Order) in the planned order of parent item?
    2. PR created for child item also has default account assignment category as "M". we wish to change that to "F".

    The account assignment category maintained in the requirement class for parent item is 'M'.
    No account assignment category maintained has been maintained in the requirement class Semi-finished component (this component is sent for subcontracting).
    The business process is as follows:
    1. Create Sales Order for Parent say ME_PARENT.
    2. Order BOM for ME_PARENT is created and subsequently cifed to APO.
    3. PP/DS heuristic is run for ME_PARENT.
    4. MRP for component ME_COMP is run in ERP.
    It can be seen that purchase requistion for ME_COMP has a/c assgn category as 'M'. It seems that the ME_COMP has inherited 'M' from ME_PARENT.
    We would like to have no a/c assgn category for ME_COMP.
    Any pointers?

  • Language Key Default for Account Assignment Search

    Hi,
    We are on SRM 4.0, Extended Classic.  We are rolling out our implnetation from Uk to Italy, therefore have installed Italian Language Pack etc.
    UoM/ Currency etc has been automatically translated .  Our English description for Product Categories will be copied straight over for Italian usage without manual translation. 
    However, when using the 'Find Account Assignment Data' search help.  Language Key 'IT' is defaulted and no entries are found from R3. 
    I want to know if this can either be defaulted to 'EN', even though the user has logged in with 'IT'.
    'EN' would then bring back a complete list of Cost objects from R3.  I dont want to undertake a translation for each bk-end Cost Center/WBS etc to 'IT'.  Or does anyone know of another way to solve this issue?

  • How to default an account assignment in a STO?

    We have a customised account assignment type "Z"
    We would like this type to be defaulted in STO's for some receiving Plants only.
    Do you know if this is feasible to force the system to trigger this account assignement for a defined list of plants?

    It is not possible to define default Acct Assgmt cat for particular plants in STO. Instead you can make it default at client level (irrespective of doc type) for particular users.
    For doing so you need to just maintain user parameter KNT with value equal to your Acct Assigmt cat. You can maintain user parameter in SU01/SU3. This means whenever this particular user run the transaction which includes act. assigmt cat will have default act assigmt cat.

    when creating a purchase order item  with account assignment category - E, system is defaulting G/L account in account assignment tab for that item.
    We have material group defined for this material in material master.
    Please help me in finding why this is happening and from where this G/L account value is considered.

    Ckeck in KA01 and that particular GL Acct. might be assigned to cost element.
    For eg if the G/L account is 400000 in that account on top in menu you will find edit cost element .so check in wether it is maintained.
    once check and reply.
    Check in OKB9 whether g/l account and cost centre is maintained for your company code.

    check the valaution class assigned to the material or the material group (if no material is being used)
    Now goto OBYC, Click on the transaction key GBB, for the account modifier VBR, & for the valuation clqass combination - check the G/L account.
    Based on this combination the G/L is determined auitomatically in the PO. if you chnage it here ... it will reflect in PO at the time of creation.

    How do we set defalut values for the Field "Partial Invoice" in the Account Assignment Tab(Multiple Acc Assignment) of Purchase Order/Purchase Requisistion.
    This field is  not available in Personal settings of "PO Item", also there is no "Parameter ID" available for this field.

    i have got one ticket
    the material is non valuated (UNBW)- when MRP is run - purchase requisitions are getting generated  as having default acount assignment category "U". This is creating problem in automatic creation of PO as U category is not accepted in PO.
    can somebody tell me from where is this acct assignme getting defaulted? is ti config or setting in material master

    this settings is copied from plant parameters settings
    OPPQ - Plant Parameters for MRP  select "External procurement" button,
    here u can see  Assign Account assignment unknown as "U" for Non-valuated materials
    This is copied to PR for non valuated MRP materials
    This is std given by SAP

  • Default the GR based IV check in PO based on account assignment category

    Hi Experts,
    We have the below business requirement based on GR based IV check in the PO. We knows that this can be automatically defaulted by using the two master records.
    1.Vendor master,
    2.Purchase info record.
    But our cilents needs this field to be automated based on the account assignment category.  Because lot of vendors are created without the activiation of this check box also they do not want to go by mass upload transaction to change the master records.
    They want only based on the account assignement category. For example if a PO is created using the account assignement K then this GR based IV is selected automatically.
    Kindly adivce any configuration setting is available to fullfill this requiremennt.

    unfortunately the GR based IV can not be set in OME9 (in customizing).
    In ME21N, if it is normal PO, GR Based IV indicator is not set. But if 
    item category = D, GR Based IV indicator is automatically set by       
    system.

    Hi gurus,
    The scenario is that my client wants to assign a different account than the standard account 660000 to the purchases made against cost centers (Acc Assignment K)
    May I know the Path for changing the defaulted G/L account so the end user dont have to go and change the account every time?
    Also may I know what type of material is best to use in case we want to manage with material all the indirect purchases?
    I mean purchase like office supplies, and other thing like that that normaly are procured with account assing K but with a short text, but now we want to start creating materials for this, but we dont want to keep this as inventory, NLAG is the best way to go for?
    The idea is also that system pick the right GL account from material, but I found in accounting view that system does not let you to put in a valuation class for material type NLAG, any ideas for this?

    Thank you so much for your detailed response and link, My first question is now answered which is a temporary solution to put to all materials a "generic" account in the mean time I will try to figure out how to get the right account for each material
    But the only thing that maybe I didn't explain clearly was the need of keeping this inventory in stock. I DON'T want this materials to be taken as inventory, this would be like expenses consumed right away to a GL account and a cost center, I tried creating material group and assigning a valuation class to it but when creating the PO system is not getting the right account, instead is picking the account mantained at OBYC in the blank entry for VBR.
    The valuation classes I created were properly linked to material type in all steps in OMSK but I'm not sure what I am trying to do is possible with this material type.
