Default portal with maximised portlet

Hi,
I would like to know if it is possible to have a maximised portlet in a portal page and more precisely as an home page (I have only seen minimised status in properties editor).
Thanks.
PS : I'm using WLP 8.1

Sandeep,
Maybe what you are really needing is to do some performance cycles. A good place to start are the Perf scripts from the Portal (http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/portal/files/portal_performance.zip). I'd also read a bit more about the Performance folder in PortalStudio as it might get you some hints on where to look (http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/portal/performance_10g1014.html).
Also the part of the portlets to render at the same time or give a timeout for certain portlets in case the performance is not acceptable, Portal 10.1.4 may bring the features you are looking for. Please visit the Portal Configuration Guide for the Portal 10.1.4 in OTN and you may check this there.
I hope the above helps you a bit further... at least as a start...
Cheers,
Pedro.

  • I can not hide borders in/with Java portlets

    I not know, is this Oracle bug, but:
    1) I have unchecked "Show borders" in Default Customization. - This helps not.
    2) In R1 was methods show/hide Borders. In R2 these methods was not!!!
    N.B. !!! These methods is not deprecated, but in R2 these methods not exists! Why?
    3) In R1 I have possibility to construct in edit/default customization form with buttons Apply/OK/Cancel. How can I construct this form in JSP (Default customization)?
    4) In xml_tag_reference_v2.html is:
    Usage with class oracle.portal.provider.v2.render.RenderManager:
    <renderer class="oracle.portal.provider.v2.render.RenderManager">
    <showPage>string</showPage>
    <autoRedirect>boolean</autoRedirect>

    <pageParameterName>string</pageParameterName>
    <renderContainer>boolean</renderContainer>
    <renderCustomize>boolean</renderCustomize>
    </renderer>
    renderContainer - Defines whether RenderManager should automatically render the portlet's container (border and title) before and after processing/invoking the page.
    renderCustomize - Defines whether RenderManager should automatically render the portlet's container (border and title) in "Edit" and "EditDefaults" modes before and after processing/invoking the page.
    My question: if I set renderContainer to FALSE, then I do not have border with Java portlet. But, I do not have customization form buttons in edit/default customizations!!! I have set renderCustomize to true, but this not helps.
    Can any help me?! I must hide borders, who comming with JSP portlets. Thanks in advance.

  • Display different portal page or portlet depend on user's

    can I display different portal page or portlet depend on user's
    profile,such as: if user's gender is male, display a portal
    page named "malePortal",if the user's gender is female, display
    a portal page named "femalePortal"

    This can be accomplished by using Entitlements Segments.
    You can define them in EBCC. you will have to define a user profile which
    will contain user information (like gender).
    Once you have two segments defined, you can use portal administration site
    to configure entitlements for pages and portlets.

    a custom IP class. If you just want to show different content based on auser profile
    value, take a look at "Content Selectors" in EBCC; this sounds like aneasier way
    to get where you're trying to go.
    I don't think there's a way to display different portal pages/portalsbased on user's

  • Integrating Weblogic Portal with Oracle BPMS

    Hello,
    I need to integrate the Weblogic Portal with the OBPMS, but i need to show only the portlet with the work list. Anyone here already did something like this ?
    I have a tutorial at Oracle with that but in this document says that i need to :
    Add the following portlets by dragging and dropping them from the Design Palette View:
    Menu Action
    Work List
    Instance Detail
    The tutorial is :
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13154_01/bpm/docs65/config_guide/index.html?t=modules/enterprise/wlp/t_WLP_Config_Overview.html
    But i need to show only the worklist , its possible ?
    the section with the portlets is : http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13154_01/bpm/docs65/config_guide/index.html?t=modules/enterprise/wlp/t_WLP_Config_Overview.html

    Here's my thoughts on how I think this works. I think you need to have an Authentication Provider or Identity Asserter that plugs into the WLS Security Provider framework that understands the Oracle Access Manager provided token (or whatever mechanism OAM is using to pass the user credentials). That piece will be responsible for creating the principal and groups in the WLS security framework. In WLP, you use Visitor Entitlement Roles to secure things like portlets. The visitor entitlements roles can be defined by many attributes (user profile, date time, request, etc). One of which is the groups that the Authorization Provider or Identity Asserter reports. You might want to post this in the WebLogic Portal forum as well.

  • Integrate OAS Portal with E1 - WSRP Producer

    Hello,
    I want to integrate OAS Portal with E1. I am following: "JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools Release 8.98 Portal Reference Guide for All Portals and Platforms" and I have a doubt about how to register a new WSRP producer for Oracle Portal Server.
    I am working with:
    - OAS Portal 10.1.4 (integrated with Windows Server 2003 SP1)
    - JDE E1 8.12 Tools 8.98
    - Each one are in a different physical machine.
    I am not sure what is exactlly WSRP producer. In the manual, it says that it is: JDE E1 HTML Web Server.
    When I amb in the second step to register the new WSRP (Provider Description (WSDL)) I have the following error:
    "Internal Error *(WWC-00006)*
    Unexpected error: *ORA-00932*: Inconsistent datatype waited an IN argument at position 2 that is an instance of an Oracle
    type convertible to an instance of a user defined Java class has obtained an Oracle type that could not be converted to a java class *(WWC-35000)*"
    In WSDL URL I have specified:
    http://HOST_E1:8083/jde/wsdl/WSRPService.wsdl
    And if it is acceded via web browser, the result is:
    - <definitions targetNamespace="urn:oasis:names:tc:wsrp:v1:wsdl" xmlns="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/" xmlns:bind="urn:oasis:names:tc:wsrp:v1:bind" xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/soap/" xmlns:wsdl="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/">
    <import namespace="urn:oasis:names:tc:wsrp:v1:bind" location="local.wsdl" />
    - <service name="WSRPService">
    - <port name="WSRPBaseService" binding="bind:WSRP_v1_Markup_Binding_SOAP">
    <soap:address location="http:///HOST_E1:8083/jde/WSRPBaseService" />
    </port>
    - <port name="WSRPServiceDescriptionService" binding="bind:WSRP_v1_ServiceDescription_Binding_SOAP">
    <soap:address location="http:///HOST_E1:8083/jde/WSRPServiceDescriptionService" />
    </port>
    </service>
    </definitions>
    1) Is correct this result?
    2) In which file can I find the port number that I need to register the WSRP?
    I am not sure about this port, but it is the number port to enter to JDE's Web (http://HOST_E1:8083/jde/E1Menu.maf)
    3) Is necessary to do any step before?
    Thank you and regards

    I have found the following manual:
    "Oracle® Application Server Portal Developer's Guide 10g Release 2" - Configuring Your Application Server to Run JPS-Compliant Portlets (including Data Sources's Configuration).
    I have followed the necessary steps, but when I tried to test it (Registering and Viewing Your Portlet's Section (create a WSRP Provider)), I have the same errorr:
    Internal error WWC-00006
    Unexpected error ORA-00932
    WWC-35000
    I have verified via web browser my WSRP Producer WSDL Page, and it is correct.
    I have tested with different users (orcladmin, portal, etc), even I have included them in PORTAL_ADMINISTRATORS group. But it doesn't work...
    Another thing I have tested is to apply 4640471 patch, although I am not sure it should be necessary, because in ReadMe file, it is only for Solaris Systems, and I am working with Windows Server 2003 SP1...
    I am really desesperate with this error, do you have any idea to solve it?
    Thank you and regards.

  • Default view state of portlets

    How can i specify the default view state of portlets. I want to set the portlet state as view everytime when page loads. Currenlty weblogic loads the last portlet state.
    Iam using weblogic 10.3 portal and also enabled Asynchronous desktop rendering feature.

    Hello,
    I'm not sure what you mean by "when page loads"-- if every time the page refreshes you reset the portlet state, you would never be able to use any portlet states other than "view". However, if you wanted to change the state every time the page very first time the page becomes "visible", the easiest way to do this would be to have the portlets listen for the onWindowActivation event, and reset their state to "view" when you receive this event.

  • Integrate Portal With Microsoft ADS

    Hi,
    I need to Integrate  portal with Microsoft Active Directory service, so that users can login with into Portal with ADS Authentication.
    What are the required for Configure EP To ADS.
    i have the LDAP Service User Account.Other than this what i required to configure.
    Please provide me the steps need to configure,
    Thanks
    Subbarao Chinta

    The links above should help you do the basic configuration for Portal and ADS integration.
    In addition to the links above -
    If you are planning to create users (with passwords), configure LDAPS.  This can be done by using Certificate Authority on the ADS server and importing the root certificate to the Portal server.  I would also make sure the security policies on both servers match.  The default port is 636.
    Otherwise, the default port is 389.
    If you plan to read other custom attributes from LDAP, modify the datasource configuration file.

    If you want to create LDAP accounts with different account properties, modify the ume.ldap attributes in the com.sap.security.core property sheet in Config Tool.

  • Portal with multiple layout !!!

    Hi,
    I've seen a lot of questions in this Newsgroup regarding the development of a
    portal containing multiple layouts, but no clear answers was given.
    If the only way to develop a portal with multiple layout is to not use the portal
    framework, please could you give me a detailed approach how to do it (maybe there
    is Howto document somewhere ...) !
    Thanks for your help, I'm stuck and unfortunately not very familiar with the product.

    Thanks Phil,
    OK, then could you explain me how to build a simple portal without the portal/portlet
    facilities, but taking advantage of the personnalization tags available.
    - e.g. Which APPLICATION_INI I need to setup ?
    I appreciate your help

    Julien - BEA's next portal release (version 4.0) will
    have complete support for a variety of different
    layout templates. There will be a selection of layouts
    out-of-the-box as well as the ability to provide your
    own custom layout. Also, "tabs" will be added to the
    portal and each tab may use a different layout template.
    Version 4.0 is scheduled for Fall 2001.
    With previous versions of the portal product, you will
    need to edit/customize portalcontent.jsp and the jsp's
    it calls. The layout Html is spread through them, so it
    is not a fun excercise.

  • Cannot find default Portal error iView DedicationAlerter

    Hi,
    I would like to have the default portal error iView collapsed as per default to avoid showing a long stack trace. The path to the default iView can be set here:
      a.      Choose System Administration  -> Support  ->Support-Desk -> Portal Runtime -> Workload Distribution Configuration.
      b.      Click on folder Workload Distribution Configuration.
      c.      Go to edit mode for service DistributionConfiguration.
      d.      In the field Default Alert iView Name  enter the desired iView path and click on Apply.
    I can see here that the current default error iview is called: com.sap.portal.supportability.isolde.DedicationAlerter
    But where in my PCD can I find this iView so that I can either change a property on it or make a copy to customize? I have done a PCD search and it does not seem to exist.
    Or is there another way I can accomplish the same? I know about the Visual Admin settings like DEVELOPMENT_MODE and DetailedErrorResponse but the problem is that they also remove the first line of the stack trace. I would still like to display that line to help support.
    Br Jan

    From the setting as you have mentioned previously I think it is directly calling the portal component.
    Probably you can have you custom component name in there and see. (download the existing par, do necessary modifications and upload with a different name)

  • How to Intergrate Report to Portal as a Portlet ?

    Hi,
    I have followed the document "Oracle Reports 9iAS Rel 2 (on Unix) : Integrating With Oracle Portal As a Portlet" to run our Reports in Portal. As my Portal is installed in a separated server from our database server, where the reports will query on, how can I create a DB Provider connecting to the database ? In the "Step 1: Set up a page to contain two Reports portlets", I cannot see the schema which I want to connect to run the reports ? Only schemas that locates in the same database with Portal's Repository can be seen in this page.
    Please advice,
    Pham

    hello,
    i think you are talking about two separate things here. if you want to create Oracle Reports, all you need to have is a TNS alias on the reports server machine that allows you to connect to the db. since you are talking about schemas in the portal i have the feeling that you are actually creating portal reports. in this case you will have to create a db link and associated synonyms in the database where the portal repository is installed.
    but keep in mind those are two different things.
    thanks,
    ph.

  • Viewing Actuate Active Portal as a portlet in Weblogic

    Hi
    I need to be able to have a webpage with a portlet on it within which you can
    see Acutate Active Portal.
    I'm not overly experienced in either Active Portal or Weblogic, but had hoped
    using the ActuatePortlets.war file that is supplied with AP (I assume to use with
    IBM's Websphere,) would also work for Weblogic if I imported it into my Weblogic
    Workshop project and dragged it over into my portal application - allowing it
    to become a portlet.
    I can't get this to work, the program asks: "Do you want to create a portlet out
    of this resource?" I click yes and it seems to go in and builds fine. However
    when trying to run the page, it either hangs there forever or the portlet simply
    dosen't show up.
    Any help greatly appreciated!
    Thanks

    You can certainly embed Content Services in an iFrame - just use the URL http://host:port/content/app/explorerPage.jspx
    Alternately you can write a portlet that calls the Content Services web service APIs and exposes the functionality that you need.

  • Reconfigure default portal group

    By default portal group name is constructed with cn=portal.$timestamp. I'm trying to re-configure it so it will simply use cn=portal,cn=xxx....
    Anyone has the procedures on how to do it ?
    I have updated OID/SSO tab in portal, created a new entry in orclapplicationcommonname=,cn=Portal,cn=Products,cn=OracleContext and a new entry in portal group container (cn=Groups, dc=...). However it still appears that OID is looking up the default group.

    Hernando,
    We are actually doing an parallel build and would like to migrate the OID entries from 9026 to 1012 repository. In previous version we only have dn=portal and we would like to keep it the same.
    It is not an important task but just wondering if anyone has done it.

  • Html default portal themes

    Hello everyone.
    First, thanks for read this questions, which is very short and clear.
    I have a hmtl page in KM, and I adopting an specific portal theme, with this code:
    <link href="http://enapbwqas:50100/irj/portalapps/com.sap.portal.design.urdesigndata/themes/portal /Intranet_MVC /ur/ur_7.0_ie6.css?7.0.15.1.0" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css">
    But now I need to adopting the "default" portal theme, so this html page would change with differents themes... with something like this:
    href="http://enapbwqas:50100/irj/portalapps/com.sap.portal.design.urdesigndata/themes/portal/ <% default theme %> /ur/ur_7.0_ie6.css?7.0.15.1.0"
    anyone knows what is the correct code of " <% default theme %> " ?? so the html style would change  dynamically...
    Thanks for your help !!!
    Tony.

    Hi,
    I am suprised that you need to include the link to the CSS file at all - since I thought that perhaps the link is generally included in the portal by default and should be available to your KM resource. My first suggestion would be to remove the CSS link and see what happens (e.g. if you can still reference the CSS classes).
    Remember also that a KM document is just a KM document and not a dynamic resource with scripting capabilities - so you cannot use <%=theme%> placeholder that get populated at runtime. You could write a KM resource filter that parsed the KM document content and replaced the placeholder at runtime -but that is a bit messy in my opinion.
    Hope that helps,
    Simon
