Default report display for Project Info System: Progress Analysis Report

T-Code: CNE5
At the Progress Analysis Initial Screen, I chose the fields from the menu Views > Choose Fields, Then I saved the Variants as Test_Variant ( GoTo > Variants > Save Variants )
Every time I run the report, it will run the Test_variant but once I logout and login again to run CNE5 Test_variant will not be used.
Can I set the default variant, so that every time I logout and login and run the Progress Analysis(cne5), Test_variant will be used as default.

If you want the same variant should default to all the users then you can assign the variant in SE93 to transaction CNE5. write your variant there-->save.
Other option is to look at possibility of creating screen variant using transaction SHD0 for CNE5. Take help of ABAP in this case.

Using OneDrive as default save location for project

I installed VS on 2 different computers and want to develop from both of them at times. Either my desktop of laptop. Therefore I want to store the project files on the Onedrive folders that are mapped on my local machine.
I have changed the default save location for Projects and also the other Registry Settings in HKCU... to onedrive/projects folder. But once I create the project from on PC and try to open it from another I am getting the following error.
the file xxxx.csproj : error : The project file could not be loaded. The filed cannot be accessed by the system.

I haven't test this issue about onedrive mapped folder. But may I ask this question: Does the location exist in your PC or is it just a mapped virtual drive?
In my point of view, when you tried to open a project from your folder, it is possible that the file is being used by onedrive synchronous process. Or Visual Studio cannot find the specific file because the file has not been uploaded/downloaded to the path
you want to search?
I don't recommend you set the default location to OneDrive folder, it is not reliable for you to do this because the synchronous process of OneDrive is not certain by us.
If you want to store your projects online, the recommend way is to use Visual Studio Online

If you want to store projects using OneDrive, please try create your projects on local drive and upload your file to OneDrive and then download it from some other sides to us. I think this is the best practise for you.

Default Settlement Rule for Project Definition

Hi Viewers,
I am having the requirement that, when i create the project, automatically system should create the AUC asset in the project level.
I tried and I am able to make at WBS element level. I need at Project level.

Hello,
In Customizing for the order type it is set that orders should be settled periodically (default rule PP2). However, this is not supported for subordinate orders in the collective order.
For this collective order, the system sets the default rule to PP1 regardless of the settings predefined in the order type. Then the collective order is subject to full settlement.
200060 - Periodic settlement in the collective order
Please check if you have any custom development for settlement.
If not then raise this to OSS.

Error in the "Project Info System" report

I am trying to execute the report CN52N and in the Delivery time field get the value as 0 instead of the value from Purchase Info Record or the Material Master. Can anyone please help me regarding this.

Defaulting person responsible for projects and project tasks

Hi,
My customer needs to use the project resource management for staffing the cProject tasks so that these are available in the dashboard view for tasks. However, in stead of doing this manually for all the tasks it is wished that tasks that are not staffed manually (or in the template) are staffed by the person which created the project.
Is there any possibilities for doing this in cProjects 4.0? Have anyone of you done something similar?

You can try with the following two alternatives.
1. a customer report, which call the
    Bapi BUS2175 method change.
   or the related function modul. BAPI_BUS2175_CHANGE.
    the importing parameter RESPONSIBLE_ROLE_GUID of BAPI_TS_TASK can    be used.
2. The Badi dpr_attributes may fulfill your requirement too.
But in bot case, I think, a role has to be created and and the person
is assigned to the role before,.

Default file location for project files

When I create a new project how do I specify an alternate destination for the files rather than my home folder

IMac (8,1) As Display for Dell Laptop...

Hi All! I just picked up a Dell Inspirion laptop for expanded music production (FL Studio) but the screen is a bit small for my liking as I'm used to the 21.5 screen of the iMac. I wanted to know, is it possible to use the iMac as a display for the Dell? SInce this is a pretty old model of the iMac (8,1) it doesn't support Thunderbolt; so with the other options, will it be able to work? If so, how? Thanks in advance for the answers!

Not directly, no. Your iMac doesn't support Target Disk Mode that would allow you to connect another computer directly. Whether there's software that would allow the iMac to be used as a network display for a Windows system, as ScreenRecycler does to allow another computer as a second display for a Mac, I don't know, but that would be your only option for using the iMac as a second display.
Otherwise, you can take control of your Dell from your Mac via Microsoft's Remote Desktop Client. But it might be more time and cost effective to just pick up a larger LCD screen for your laptop. You can find 24" LCD monitors for well under $200 these days.

MRP for Project MD51

Hi all,
I have a problem that is showed below:
Our general stock is 100 for material ABC (procurement type is F: external procurement).
We have 3 project stock for 3 WBS element. They are
        - Project stock 1: 0
          OrdRes: 50
        - Project stock 2: 0
          OrdRes: 30
        - Project stock 3: 0
          OrdRes: 60
Total requiment for 3 WBS element is 140.
When I run MRP for PS by tcode MD51, the system generate 3 PR for material ABC particular for each of OrdRes.
1. I think that the system will generate 3 transfer posting for each of OrdRes, doesn't is? That is the first system.
2. The system will generate one PR (quantity 40) to cover 3 OrdRes based on current stock (quantity 100), doesn't is? That is the second question.
3. Are there any distribution key to distribute auto from general stock to project stock? And when I run MRP by MD51, the system will generate PR with quantity exactly for each OrdRes, doesn't is?

I have checked by assign "2" in field individual/collect on tab MRP4. When I have assigned this material to activity in project and release. in MD04, I can't see Order Reservation be assigned in project stock. So, when I run MD51 for project, the system does not generate planned order for this material while I want run MRP for WBS element
Besides, if field individual/collect on tab MRP4 not be assigned "2", the order reservation will be appear follow project stock in MD04. And when I run MD51, the system will not check stock in general stock.
I wonder why SAP does not support for me to run MRP for each WBS element and generate planned order base on check general stock and project stock at the same time?
Can you aupport me to solve this case

Report Painter Drilldown on Cost Element for Project Systems

I am currently working on a report for Project Systems. I am trying to copy the functionality of the Internal Order summary (60I2-001) into report group 6P3. I was able to copy the whole layout and also the values of 6oI2-001 into a copy of 6PP4-001 but when I double click on "Balance" it is bringin up the ALV report that 6PP4-001 is using. I would like to call another report which looks like 6LS0-001 but contains Project System info made in report painter when I double click on Balance. Is this possible? Please let me know how.

1 a & B: You are planning Qty on NWA and capturing costs - labor & Equipment on NWA elements.
When you are having elaborated to NWA-Element level, split your total work on each NWA-element and post labor cost. Thus you will have planned Vs actual costs at one place.
coming to equipment cost - are you capturing using PO through GR?.
2.a : Option1- create a separate WBS elements for materials and plan cost at WBS level. That value would be your total planned cost of material procurement as estimated. Under this WBS elements create NWAs and assign the materials. With this set up you can assign material and procure so that will have actual costs coming from GR.
Option 2: Create a one General Cost activity and assign the total planned cost of material on this NWA.
When you assign the material components, diligently you have to reduce the equivalent amount from the general costs activity. Also note that on component screen, you have to check box "Cost relevant" so that material cost will add to Cost NWA. Let the different materials have their own valuation class and have default CEs accordingly. that would not be big issue.
Please discuss with your MM team to get more information. Also my suggestion is to leave blank CE field in configuration.
The option2 is very cumbersome and high risk but one have to be very cautious to reduce the value from Cost NWA in order to sustain the planned material costs whenever they added.
3. I have answered the relevance of Cost relevance check box in above.

RH7 Reports not Displaying all Requested Info

Has anyone else generated the Topic Properties report from
the Tools menu, and noticed that the report only haphazardly
includes some requested data? For example, from the Options menu
for the report, I selected simply the Topic, the MapID, and any
Conditional Build tags. There are about 2700 topics in the project.
The resulting report did display some mapID info, but not for every
topic that has one. It seemed like less than 50% accuracy there. I
did go to some of these topics and confirm that yes, they do indeed
have a map ID attached to them.
Has anyone else seen this? Any suggestions?

Pause / Resume button combination not working when set to display for "rest of project"

Good day,
I have created a set of four objects on slide2 of my project
1. Smart Object rounded rectangle with text "(playing) - CLICK to Pause" [this is the graphic the user sees]
2. Smart Object rounded rectangle with text "(paused) - CLICK to Resume" [this is the graphic the user sees]
3. Smart Object rectangle, transparent, used as button, set to not display in project - btn_Resume
4. Smart Object rectangle, transparent, used as button - btn_Pause
A. Script assigned to btn_Pause hides btn_Pause and the "CLICK to Pause" graphic, shows the btn_Resume and "CLICK to Resume" graphic, and pauses the project by setting the system pause variable to 1
B. Script assigned to btn_Resume hides btn_Resume and the "CLICK to Resume" graphic, shows the btn_Pause and "CLICK to Pause" graphic, and resumes the project by setting the system resume variable to 1
C. All items are set to display from the beginning of slide2 for the "rest of project"
On slide 2, the buttons hide/show and pause/resume behaviors work correctly.
On slide 3, the correct initial button and graphic appears, and the click sound works when clicked, but no behaviors (show/hide/pause) occur until a good amount of time into the slide: you can click all you want for 20-30 seconds, but nothing works except the click sound. Eventually, the behavior will work.
On slides 4 and following, the correct initial button and graphic appears, and the click sound works when clicked, but no behaviors EVER work.
If the behaviors NEVER, EVER worked, I would keep looking for what I did not have set correctly, but the correct working on the slide where they are set, delayed behavior on the next, and no behavior on the remainder of slides following has me stumped.

I hope I'm missing something obvious here, and I'm more than willing to face-palm if you tell me . Otherwise, I have not been able to find any setting that makes any difference. I would REALLY rather not duplicate the buttons and scripts on every page of the project. Given the blog posts I have seen saying this method should work just fine, I'm hoping there is a side quirk somewhere that I'm missing.

Without clouding with too much explanation, this technique arose out of a need to deal with (in a different project) objects that were grouped, and wanting to deal with the groups in as simple a way as possible, allow for easy swapping of group assets, and having a few buttons do multiple things. The idea of being able to have multiple interactive buttons stacked on top of each other while appearing for the rest of the project led to trying this simple construct before trying something more complex.
You are correct, that there is a simpler solution, which we ended up using because we were not able to get two interactive buttons stacked on top of each other while displayed for the rest of the project to work properly (although that is SUPPOSED to work, as far as I understand).
Here's what we ended up doing:
A) Two smartshapes used as messaging graphics
B) A single (one) interactive smartshape used as a button
C) A conditional action to pause/resume and show/hide the appropriate messaging graphics
D) All three objects (A&B) stacked, B on top.
E) All objects set to always appear on top, and to display for rest of project.
Our hypothesis, then, is that you are not able to stack interactive objects on top of each other and then display for the rest of the project.
If anyone has evidence to the contrary, we would, gladly, take a look.
