Default SSID Disappears When Additional SSID Added
Hi,
I have an issue when configuring an additional SSID for an autonomous AP, hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.
Currently there is one SSID configured to use VLAN 1, Bridge Group 1, and the normal dot11Radio0 and FastEthernet0 interfaces. I can associate clients to this SSID without issue.
I then configure a second SSID, and assign it to VLAN 253, Bridge Group 253, and sub-interfaces dot11Radio0.253 and FastEthernet0.253. Clients can associtae with this SSID ok, but now clients are unable to associate with the original SSID on vlan 1.
Is there something key that I would have missed or any particular debug commands to run that will narrow down the problem?
APs are Aironet 1230B's running c1200-k9w7-mx.123-7.JA1.

I needed to specify vlan 1 with the encryption methods and ssid, eg:
dot11 ssid wlan1
vlan 1
authentication open eap eap_methods
authentication network-eap eap_methods
int dot11Radio0
encryption vlan 1 key 1 size 128bit 7 1234567890ABCDEF1234567890 transmit-key
encryption vlan 1 mode wep mandatory

Help with Scripting forms when additional characters added
Hi,
I am new to scripting in adobe professional, I thank anyone in advance for any advice or help they can give me.
I am trying to use the calcuations within the forms that I am putting fields onto. In the process I discovered that the program the forms are within are attaching a pipe and additional characters after the actual name that I have named them. So, I am not able to use even the simple calculations within adobe to "sum" fields. For example: I named the field "1_1Text" and this is what displays when you go into the calculations and pick the fields you want. But the actual name is "1_1Text|1234567" so the calculations will not work.
I take it then I need to use the advanced scripting but I am unsure of the format for a routine such as this. I have a little knowledge of javascript but it has been awhile. There must be a scan to find the pipe and then you should be able to chop off the extra characters since I will never know the characters the program adds on so then I can do calculations on these fields. Then you would have to put them into an array or something to save them? Any help with a script or hints would surely be appreciated.

I think you are misunderstanding me. I use Adobe Acrobat Professional 6.0. I can get the calculations to work correctly if I use the form as it is after creating it.
But these forms are put into an SQL database and they get selected within a VB.net program or ASP.net program (both are used). So these programs (VB.net or ASP.net) are adding the extra characters at the end, hence I do not know the names of the fields when the forms are being filled in. So the calculations do not work with the "original names" that I created for the fields.
I just figured if I created a routine that looped through and chopped off the extra characters these programs put on the end I would be able to do the calcuations and they would work. I believe there is a substring operation within javascript. -
Background colours disappear when question slide added in C4
I recently updgraded to Captivate 4. Since the upgrade I have encountered this problem. I am importing slides from power point. Some of the slides have a blue background. When I add a question slide in C4, the blue background does not show up when I Preview in web browser or Publish the file. The blue background is still there if I don't add any question slides. Any ideas on what is going on and how to prevent my blue backgrounds from disappearing?
Sorry... I was in the process of doing it yesterday, but here's what I did.
I have two versions of Captivate in my laptop, Captivate 3 & 5.
1. I opened Captivate 3 and started a project
2. Create a question pool in Captivate 3
3. I inserted a powerpoint slide with my gif animation in the slide
NOTE: If you want your gif to loop continuously, you must make sure you pause the project in Captivate before the end of the slide. It will not work if you extend the slide duration.
4. After importing the ppt slide with looping gif animation in captivate 3, I copied the slide (make sure you're not copying the invisible click box) and pasted it on top of each question in the pool.
5. Go to your timeline and send the slide to the background if necessary.
6. Line up/design your question slides.
7. Save and close the project.
8. Find the project and open with > Captivate 5
Your question pool should retain the animation.
I am working on creating a "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" game. I've seen it done before, but it always looks amateur. I wanted to do something more polished, with nicer graphics, appropriate sound effects and good transition slides. The gif animation is of two moving spotlights on the background of every question screen. I'd be happy to share a sample if I knew where to upload it to. -
CS6 2D layers disappear when 3D layer added
Doesn't seem to matter if it's classic or raytrace renderer. All non 3d layers become invisible. If I make them 3D, they appear. Strangely, if I nest the comp into another comp, everything shows up only when viewing through the new comp.
I've tried purging cache and memory with no luck. Restarting AE doesn't help.

Rotation: SupportedFile it under the "one more of those CS6 bugs" category. Though you might try to check, whether the issue actualyl occurs when only running with the internal display. You could simply be running out of resources for all that hardware acceleration crap they threw into the program.

Default SSID for Cisco equipment
We have several wireless conference rooms equiped with Aironet 340 equipment. Most people have Cisco wireless cards for their PCs. I have a 802.11b card for my PC but not the Cisco brand. Short of asking a collegue to let me look through his setup screens to identify the SSID used, I thought I'd try the default SSID used when installing Cisco equipment. (ie. my Linksys card uses the word linksys for cards and hubs as default). Any advice?
Kevin RoseAlthough there's a good chance that using a "default" SSID will allow you to associate, the best method for easy/public access to a network is:
- Set the "Broadcast SSID" option to On in the Access Point configuration,
- Set the SSID on the client to NULL (empty).
This means that almost any client card will be able to associate. However, this means there's *no* security at all for the wireless network.
If the conference rooms are for company (internal) use, it's best to have a proper security policy for wireless access - such as using WEP/LEAP, connecting to the company RADIUS server.
If you still need security, but want company visitors to have wireless access, you'll need a strong firewall policy to stop the general public from accessing the corporate network. -
Why does added text disappear when I move the cursor
After adding text to an unprotected .pdf file the text disappears when I move the cursor and want to add a second box of text. The text in the first box reappears when I double click on the space where the box was. How do I set the text so that it remains visible and printable?

I think the data in the PDF file was filled-in using MAC preview.
One option is to ask the user to fill the file again using Adobe Reader or Acrobat.

First, try to delete the Desktop settings file. First, open Finder, select Go menu > Go to Folder, and type ~/Library/Preferences. Then, delete "com.apple.desktop.plist" and "com.apple.systempreferences.plist", and restart your computer. Finally, change the wallpaper and see if it stays after restarting your computer
If that does not work try
open the Applications Support folder and then look for the Dock folder and open that. There are two files, one of which is "desktoppicture.db". Move this file to the trash and securely delete it. Restart the computer. A new "desltoppicture.db" will be created on startup.
Finally, reset your desktop picture again using System Preferences. -

Since the upgrade to IOS7, the default phone label when adding new contacts in my iPhone 5 is "Radio". Previously the default was "Mobile". It is a hassle as when my iPhone contacts are synched with Outlook via Exchange, the phone number I've entered on the iPhone doesn't show on the default Outlook view as it is a "Radio" number rather than a "Mobile", "Work", "Home", etc number. It is still stored both on the iPhone & in Outlook & I can still use the number to phone or SMS, it is just incorrectly labelled & hence the source of frustration.
Apple please return the default to "Mobile" or alternatively find a way we can alter the default ourselves to "Mobile" or "Home" etc.The following previous discussion may help: https://discussions.apple.com/message/23846793#23846793

I am setting up a controller to go into our existing environment. Our other controllers have a bunch of WLANs set up on them, all mapped to vlans on the switch, with their own SSIDs, keys, etc.
During the setup wizard, the 4400 wants to know the default SSID (Network name).
Can this be any SSID/WLAN? For instance, "OfficeData", mapped to WLAN/VLAN 235 that is trunked to the controller?absolutely! Usually though I create a dummy WLAN with base configs. The remove it and configure my real said once the WLC is fully up. I find that easier than mucking around in the wizard

I have already contacted apple thru email, twice. I don't see that they have an option for a call back for a missing iTunes balance, I did however see where I could get a call back(and did) for not being able to sign in on another device to make a purchase. This problem was resolved quickly for this device. I told this rep about the unresolved problem of the missing iTunes balance and he said he could transfer me but the wait times are very long. In my 2 email correspondences on this missing balance issue both times I was told to check my balance history- which does not resolve the issue that I am having to go thru a huge hassle to get my missing balance back prior to my card purchase. I had a balance of $5.86 show on my ipad2 and on my Mac book pro prior to applying the $25 gift card. Then the balance showed only $25 after apply my gift card, now here's what's weird: aprox. A week and a half later I sign in on my iPod touch and shows a balance of $5.30!, but when it has me resign into iTunes that balance disappeared, and the $25 gift card balance shows up. I made NO PURCHASES to use the $5.86/ or $5.30- so I want my money to equal $30.30/ or $30.86 as it should, and I want to not go thru so much to take care of it. To just hope Apple would have a call back option for this type of issue. I won't be buying iTunes gift cards or purchasing thru iTunes if my balance disappears when I do so.
When you tried to contact Support with the card's images how were you trying to do it, on your phone or a browser on your computer ? And have you tried a different browser to see if you get the same error message ?
As well as images of the card they might also want an image of its receipt.

Data disappears when a field is added to report
I have a report that uses two files. The first one has a field called "amount code", and the second includes that code field as well as a description of the code.
But when I link that second file to the first one, data disappears when I drag a field from the second file into the report. The first 10 fields in the report are from the first file, and they look fine. But as soon as I drag in any of the fields from the second file, all of the data in the report disappears. (This happens no matter where I drag that field to...data, page headers, etc.)
I'm pretty sure I have the files linked correctly. Can anyone tell my why this happens?
(When I use the either file by itself, things look fine.)

I think I have it figured out (or more accurately, our DBA figured it out for me).
The problem is that in the main file, the code field is only one digit long (string). But in the second file (the code description file), that code field is 8 digits long, even though only the first digit has any data (followed by 7 blanks). Therefor CR doesn't see any matches.
It looks like the solution is to truncate the field in the code description file so it's only one digit long instead of 8.
But thanks for the help...I'm clearly over my head, and very much appreciate your assistance.

My bookmarks toolbar in Firefox 10.0.2 Mac OSX 10.6.8 suddenly disappeared. View>Toolbars>Bookmarks Toolbar is checked. Dragging URL's to the bookmarks toolbar area no longer works. The gray area appears and disappears when checking/unchecking under View/Toolbars menu, but will not show any or accept addition of bookmarks.
Make sure that toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible: "View > Toolbars"
*Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize"
*Check that the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is on the Bookmarks Toolbar
*If the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is not on the Bookmarks Toolbar then drag it back from the toolbar palette in the customize window to the Bookmarks Toolbar
*If missing items are in the toolbar palette then drag them back from the Customize window on the toolbar
*If you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the toolbar palette then click the "Restore Default Set" button to restore the default toolbar set up

HT203353 Safari extensions disappear when I quit the program?
Why do Safari extensions disappear when I quit the program? They are all from the Apple extensions pages. I started manually adding extensions because the Add This bar disappeared when I clicked the extensions off button and I couldn't find it to get it back. I liked Add This because it added an extra bar below the url box with the extensions in color. I tried to add the Pocket extension to Add This with a supposed installer from the web site but it disappeared when I clicked on it and didn't add it. Now when I add extensions from the Apple Safari extensions pages there are just little grey images on buttons beside the url box. I quit Safari at night and the next morning when I start the program the extensions are gone. They were all enabled which appears to be the default. Also want to know if Add This is no longer supported.
Back up all data before proceeding.
Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
Use the search box in the toolbar of the Keychain Access window to search for an item named "Safari Extensions List". If found, delete it. Quit Keychain Access.
Quit and relaunch Safari. -
Get an additional column added to PWA Page which shows up the resource names
When we got to Project center and open up the respective project.By default the Tasks Summary window opens up.
Where in I can see the ID,Task Name,Duration,Start, Finish,% Complete,Work and Task State.
In one of the request a user wanted us to get an additional column added to this which shows up the Resource Names.
Note:
In the project plan what we publish to the server we used to have a resource name column.
Please let me know if it is possible to add a new column.amavila --
Your Project Server administrator will need to do the following:
Log into PWA with administrator permissions
Click the Server Settings link in the Quick Launch menu.
Click the Manage Views link in the Look and Feel section of the Server Settings page.
In the Project section, click the Task Summary view to open it for editing.
In the Available Fields list, select the Resource Names column, and then click the Add button to add it to the Displayed Fields list on the right.
Click the Save button.
Keep in mind that only your Project Server administrators can perform the above steps. Hope this helps.
