Default value in receiver file adapter
Hi Experts,
I am doing JMS to FILE scenario, receiver file structure got 100 fields, i need to create the file with all 100 fields, if anything doesn't exist in source side i need to put empty value in the receiver file, i know i can achieve this using MapWithDefault node function, but i got more than 100 fields.
is there any simple way to cheive this ????
Hi Hareen,
If the source field does not exist even the reciever side field occurance 0..1, the field is not coming in recever structure after the mapping, so in the file it is not creating empty value, for example if the source side 20 fields exist after the mapping target side only 20 fields appearing in target xml because we have 0..1 occurance.

Receiver file adapter command line
hi,
i am just wondering how to use command line on receiver file adapter.
i am not clear how to use this.
please modify on the following command!
anyway, i have to call java application after put some files by receiver file adapter.
cmd.exe %Fjava ./javacalltest
it did not work..
please guide me.
Command Line
An operating system command specified here is executed before or after a file has been successfully processed. The default value is an empty character string (no command).
When the operating system command is called, the file name currently being processed can be specified with the following placeholders:
%f (file name)
%F (absolute file name including path)Hi Ogawa and Laurence,
Have look at :: /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2007/02/08/xipi-command-line-sample-functions

2)Linux:

Note:: First try using the comands on O.S if they work then only use them in Adapters.
Hope it will help.

Blank line in receiver file adapter content conversion
Hi,
I am using a receiver file adapter. Everything is working fine. Except that a blank line is put by the file adapter between each records. It is a flat file format.
I have used the stting below. How do we remove the blank line?
Recordset : ACCTHDR,BATCHDR,TRANSREC,BATCHTLR,FILETLR
ACCTHDR.fieldFixedLengths 1,7,4,9,8,665
ACCTHDR.absoluteRowWidth 694
ACCTHDR.addHeaderLine 0
Thanks
Sachin KHi,
.endSeparator
The default value is a line break (no explicit separator after the last column; instead the structures are arranged line-by-line).
If you enter a character string here, the system adds it to the last column as a closing character. You can also make this specification in addition to NameA.fieldFixedLengths. To include a line break following the closing character, you must explicitly define it by attaching ´nl´ (including the quotation marks) to the string.

Configuring Receiver File Adapter for J2SE
Hi All,
I have a scenario in which i need to convert the IDOC data into a fixed length file.
I did mapping according to the output structure of the file.
My Output file format is as follows...
Document1 document2 document3 etc
Each document contains different fields with different lengths
In XI-FIle adapter we give Recordset structure : Document1,Document2,Document3.
But while configuring Receiver File adapter in J2SE.
There is no option mentioned in J2SE Adapter.
http://saphelp.border-states.com/EN/95/bb623c6369f454e10000000a114084/content.htm
Please throw some light on the same.
Thank You
Regards,
Reehanas far as i read the document, what i understood is that the J2SE adapter has a limitation.
your XML structure should be as mention in the link;
To convert a table in XML format to pure text format, the document format must be the same as that which is generated by the sender file/FTP adapter in mode FILE2XMBWITHROWCONVERSION (with the default value <row> for the structure) and the sender JDBC adapter. This means that the document structure looks like this:
<resultset>
<row>
<column-name1>column-value</column-name1>
<column-name2>column-value</column-name2>
<column-name3>column-value</column-name3>
</row>
<row>
<column-name1>column-value</column-name1>
<column-name2>column-value</column-name2>
<column-name3>column-value</column-name3>
</row>
</resultset>
This is an example for 3 columns and 2 lines. The number of lines and columns is, of course, unlimited. The XML elements in italics can be defined by the user and the elements of a line must be grouped within an element of type <row> </row>.
So cannot take the recordset structure as we have for the normal File adapter. -
Sender_interface_name in Variable Substitution in Receiver File Adapter CC
Hi,
as per this page : http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/bc/bb79d6061007419a081e58cbeaaf28/frameset.htm
it says:
Variable Substitution (Target Directory/File Name Scheme)
If you set the Enable indicator, you can enter variables for the Target Directory and File Name Scheme. Enter the names of the variables and references in the table.
● Enter each variable that you reference in the Target Directory and File Name Scheme fields without the surrounding percentage sign under Name of Variables in the table.
The variables can refer to attributes of the message header or elements of the message payload.
○ If the variables are to refer to an attribute of the message header, add the prefix message: to the name of the variable under Reference. You can specify the following attributes of the message header:
sender_party, sender_service, receiver_party, receiver_service, interface_name, interface_namespace, message_id, message_id_hex
Can we not access sender_interface_name and sender_interface_namespace are not mentioned in above list of variables.
Is it not possible to access sender_interface_name or sender_interface_namespace as variable substitute parameters from within Receiver File Adapter Communication channel.

Yes, i can hardcode, thats not a bad idea, i need to create then 3 different Reciever File Communication Channel objects, as I am dealing with 3 scenarios for which sender system and sender interface is different.
>Shabarish Vijayakumar wrote:

yes in this link you provided i can see..
INTERFACE Interface
INTERFACE_NAMESPACE InterfaceNamespace
SENDER_SERVICE SenderService
RECEIVER_SERVICE ReceiverService
RECEIVER_NAME ReceiverName
RECEIVER_NAMESPACE ReceiverNamespace
it seems both INTERFACE (,INTERFACE_NAMESPACE) and RECEIVER_NAME(,RECEIVER_NAMESPACE) are present, may be one is for sender, and another is for receiver.. may be if i use dynamic configuration, possibly my issue would be addressed.. correct me if i am wrong.

Need to get the Mail attachment name as it is to the receiver file adapter
I am doing a Mail to File scenario. I need to get the attachment from the mail and store it on the file server. I am using the PayloadSwap bean in the sender mail adapter. My requirement is to carry forward the attachement name as it is to the receiver file adapter side and store the file with the same name.
Did any one try doing this? I was looking at developing an adapter module but got struck as I could not find whether the attachement name is stored in the XI payload after it has got swapped using the swap bean.
Any help would be appreciated.
VJOops pressed the send key. Take two.
This is becoming a damn nightmare. When I run the adapter I am getting ModuleExceptions. Can you pass your eyes over these Java config settings to see what I am doing wrong. 0 byte txt file using receiver File Adapter
HI,
My scenario is Flat File to Fixed Length File.
Mapping : Based on the condition Reciever node need to generated , In some cases it wont generate any node ( No data )
Receiver Communication channel : I used FCC for Fixed length Format.
Problem : When i am generatingf the receiver file with some data it executes. But when i am generating the file with no data , it fails in the receiver comminication channel.
Could not process due to error: java.lang.Exception: Exception in XML Parser (format problem?):'java.lang.Exception: Message processing failed in XML parser: 'Conversion configuration error: Unknown structure 'ns0:Message1' found in document', probably configuration error in file adapter (XML parser error)'
I need the receiver file to generate with 0 bytes when there is empty data.
can any one help on this.
ThanksHi,
>>Problem : When i am generatingf the receiver file with some data it executes. But when i am generating the file with no data , it fails in the receiver comminication channel.
What happens in this case is, when you send a blank file to PI it processes but once it went to Receiver Adapter, it looks out for some fields because of the FCC settings. So it throws an error/exception because some fields are expected and it is not coming. Because of that you getting below exception.
Secondly, Once you send data with few values or fields it will process in Receiver file adapter FCC and if there is some error it throws error. this is why you getting exception in moni, and other places.

Receiver File Adapter Not Executing OS Command
Hello All!
We are currently running PI 7.1 and wish to use a Receiver File Adapter to FTP a file to a mainframe and override the FTP system defaults.
Tried using the 'quote site recfm=fb lrecl=80' OS command but discovered that this would not work as the Adapter Engine is NOT on the mainframe.
Regrouped a bit and made a second attempt which involved writing a Unix script to ftp a file and override rthe system defaults. The idea was to use the File Adapter to FTP the data to the server, invoke the script and get the file to the mainframe with the proper attributes. The script when executed on the server works perfectly.
However, when the IDoc comes thru PI, the File Adapter ftp's the file ok but the script is never executed.
Any ideas why this is so or any suggestions?
Thank you.Hi Ken,
Script only executes at Network File sharing (NFS) only. It dont work at FTP level.
So you can better write the file on NFS and then within the script to connect to ftp and do your processing.

Receiver File adapter content conversion using StrictXml2PlainBean
Hi All,
For receiver file adapter i am using the module StrictXml2PlainBean, and also i mentioned the module configuration like this
parameter name parameter value

FileTrailer.endSeparator |\n
FileTrailer.fieldSeparator |
Header.endSeparator |\n
Header.fieldSeparator |
TransactionDetail.endSeparator |\n
TransactionDetail.fieldSeparator |
TransactionHeader.endSeparator |\n

But when i send the idoc, The receiver CC is throwing an error
Message processing failed. Cause: com.sap.aii.af.modules.conversion.xml2plain.ConversionException: Invalid structure name encountered during conversion: Transaction at XML element MT_DeliveryOrder,Transaction
My actual structure is
MT_DelvOrder
Header 0...1
Transaction 0....Unbounded
TransactionHeader 1..1
TransactionDetail 0...unbounded
TransactionTrailer 1...1
FileTrailer 0...1
The module is checking for the Transaction node,but i require the rest 3.
Same configuration i have done successfully with FCC without using the module....
So can any one suggest me where i am missing... why the module is pointint towards, the Transaction cant i ignore this node . and continue with the rest???

Hi all,
I am trying to convert the XML to Plain file in receiver file adapter. I am using module - StrictXml2PlainBean
My target structure is -
<MT_Name>
<records>

</records>
</MT_Name>

and
are at same level.
When I use --
1. Header.fieldSeparator = ,
2. Item.fieldSeparator = ,
3. recordTypes = Header,Item
Then I get this error -
Message processing failed. Cause: com.sap.aii.af.app.modules.conversion.xml2plain.ConversionException: Invalid structure name encountered during conversion: records at XML element MT_Name,records
When I use --
1. records.fieldSeparator = ,
2. singleRecordType = records
Then I get this error -
Message processing failed. Cause: com.sap.aii.af.app.modules.conversion.xml2plain.ConversionException: The element nesting level for the structure MT_Name is too deep (reference: 3 levels, found: 4 levels) at XML element MT_Name,records,Header,Item
To add more details to the scenario, multiple records can be generated but one record will have only one Header, with multiple Items.
Any help in this regard will be highly appreciated.
Thanks,
AbhiHi Abhi,
Here you go....
For your target structure as:
<MT_Name>
<records>

</records>
</MT_Name>
Where I have assumed that
and
are at same level.
DO NOT use any Module just simply configure the receiver channel as below:
In the file Receiver Channel
Recordset Structure = Header,Item
Name Value
Header.fieldSeparator ,
Item.fieldSeparator ,
I have tried this and it works.
Let me know if you are facing any issues.
Cheers

Dynamic file name (Date) in Receiver File Adapter
Hi,
can any one tell me how to create outbound file name with receiver file adapter in format like Name_22-08-2006.dat. I need from a current Date in the name of the message (without any other information). In message payload I dont have that date. Is it possible to use variable from user defined function in message mapping for that name?
Regards,
NaychoNaycho,
that's exactly what I've managed to perform using DynamicConfiguration. Check these links:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/43/03612cdecc6e76e10000000a422035/frameset.htm

Particularly, I've created a Java API for using setDirectory and setFileName methods through mappings. I use XSLT with java enhancement because it's a million times easier to parse and get node values with XSL than pure java.
I'm writing a blog on the subject, if you don't resolve the problem until it's out, let me know.

Dynamic File Name for Receiver File Adapter
Hi All,
How can we use dynamic name for Receiver file adapter?
Can anyone help.
Thanks in Advance
ChemmanzHi Chemmanz,
The dynamic filename generation concept is as follows.
In your filename field. just give a variable with % symbols. (eg: %file% ).
Now, under the option Variable Name Substitution, you can give how the value has to be created.
It can be your interface name, sender service name, etc or it can be some value dynamically from your payload.
For the former, your give
message:interface_name ,etc
and for the payload part you give,
Payload: "your element root which u wanna acecss"
Just check this link out,
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/bc/bb79d6061007419a081e58cbeaaf28/content.htm
And read the contents under variable substitution and it will help you understand the concepts better.
If you have any clarifications, do get back,

FTP Receiver File adapter -- CRLF In output File in Windows environment.
Hi All,
Idoc to File : Receiver File adapter.
I use the endseparator 'nl' and the output file is coming correctly with NFS and It is not working when we are doing with with FTP.
Tested with NFS (Unix environment)
I used the endseparator 'nl' and the output file is coming with CRLF.
Tested with FTP (Windows environment)
When I tested the same the output file is coming with LF.
I tried by using the module "SAP XI Sample/ConvertCRLFfromToLF" which will convert from LFToCRLF.But it is serving my purpose.
Can anyone please suggest how I can get the CRLF in the file while putting in the output directory which is in windows environment.
Thanks
SeemaDo not mention endSeparator in content conversion parameters...by default XI puts newline as endSeparator
It should work for NFS and FTP on Windows -
Dynamic Filename on Receiver File Adapter
Hi,
I am running XI 3.0 SP 14.
The scenario is
SAP R/3 (IDOC) > XI (Receiver File Adapter)> FTP Server
There is no mapping on the XI side, we just drop the IDOC XML on to the ftp server.
I would like to configure a dynamic file name on the Receiver File Adapter where if the 'MSATZ' Field
within the E1EPD04 segment of the IDOC is populated then I would like to send a separate
Filename than the one specified on the 'File Name Scheme'.
Has anybody done this or any suggestion how I should go about this please.
Thank you.
Warm Regards,
RanjanHi Guys,
When I tried to create the User defined function as below, I got the Null value for the "StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION" object.
My code looks like this,(this is part of the debuging code)
Start
public String Create(String a,String b,Container container){
if (container.getTransformationParameters() == null)
return "conf.null";
if (container.getTransformationParameters().get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION) == null)
return "Dynamic.null";
return b;
--End
On the output I get the value "Dynamic.null". I do not know why the object value is Null.
Any suggestion pls.
Thank you.
