Default VAT codes in TRIP interface in SAP TM

Hello Forum Experts,
Due to the new european legislation to VAT treatment in EU, it is now more conveniently possible to re-claim VAT spent in EU member countries as a part of the EU directive.
As our company has global presence in 132 countries, when we create a trip, VAT rates are displayed for all these countries.  Can we change the setup to display only UK and other EU Member states' VAT codes and block access to other VAT codes that are for rest of the world countries(non EU states).
1. Can we achieve the above ?
2. If yes, which table keeps this info and how do I go about blocking access to non-EU VAT rates in TRIP interface ?
Any help would be great.
Rgds
Mohammed.

Anantha,
All am trying here is when you run TRIP t-code, you are able to select expense types and also select pre-defined VAT/tax codes for each transaction selected.  Now, due to EU legislation, VAT spent in EU member countries may be re-claimed but at my current client, we are able to see VAT codes not only for EU countries but for all countries(our client has presence in 132 countries).  I want to limit this view so that vat codes for only EU member countries are available for company codes in EU region.  I want to know how to achieve the same.
Appreciate any advice on how to achieve this enhancement!

  • Default VAT code for TRIP abroad

    Hello,
    I have a problem with VAT code applied for TRIP Abroad using credit card integration.
    For example, in case User "X" from Spain travel to Germany. When we record TRIP manually, system gives always the default VAT code as mentionned in the customizing (Travel management -> Travel expense -> Master data -> Control Parameters for Travel Expenses -> Define Global Settings), which is 0% for international trips.
    When we record the trip using functionality of credit card receipts selection (the green buttom is TRIP transaction) and for abroad trip, system select VAT code as it is indicated in the expense type settings, and not the 0% VAT code which configured for international trips !
    What can be the reason ?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    The Tax code that is given in Expense Types has more priority over the tax code given in the Global parameters.
    If you want 0% tax for International trips, create new Expense Type specific for International expenses, assign the 0% tax code and, restrict them to Trip Schemas of International trips.

  • VAT code mandatary status fileld for Account; from the sap tables

    Hi All,
    I need a big favour from you all on this FI requirement
    As you all know in SAP FI transactions (FB01), we enter account and some of them need VAT code as mandatory enrty;
    I need to write a sql to check whether VAT code is mandatary for account or not from the config sap tables;
    Can I know the table name and the filed names related to this
    Many Thanks
    Iver

    HI,
    No specific table tells you whether particular account requires VAT code or not.
    This is based on the GL account tax details maintained. In the FS00 - GL> in "Control tab" based on the tax category it will ask the VAT code.
    Without maintaing the details as said above , you can't use the tax code while doing FB01.

  • VAT code

    Hi,
    for evry documents posted with this Account : "XXXXXX" i want to have specific code of VAT like : "Y1". so i want to force users to choose this VAT code when they post documents with "XXXXXX" (it is treasury account).
    please advise
    good points for good reply
    regards

    On the GL account master record, in the control data enter the tax category e.g. Y1.
    SAP help for the tax category;
    Define the tax code which can be used to post to the account. When posting to this account, the system then checks whether the tax code in the line item is permitted for this account.
    This is useful if you always post to this account using the same tax rate. When you post to this account, the tax code is defaulted and can no longer be changed (for example, the account Domestic trip costs taxed flat rate in Germany).

  • Default VAT Group display 'funny' characters at List of Accounts

    Hi,
    Using SAP Business One 8.82 (8.82.079) PL: 14
    l would like to display "Default VAT Group' in the list of accounts, l have setup the form setting accordingly; however the list of accounts display characters different from the expected... look like encryption key...
    Yes, the customer do have encryption setup for users, but i suppose it should not affect default VAT Group code view from list of accounts.
    You may refer my print screens for more details.
    Any idea?

    Hi,
    This is standard behavior if you choose encryption for users. Please refer SAP help file:
    Define encryption for a user for the following confidential data in the system.

  • Tax Code Determination - default tax code for sales

    Under the tax code determination window i have set the default tax code for sales as VAT@4% and I have save it.  but when I open the sales quotation , order or any other sales document the tax code is not appeared.  what could be the reason?
    thanks
    SV Reddy

    Is ur "Determination Type" is 'Material Type'?
    FYI from Help file,
    When you enter item information in the marketing documents, system will check the item master data. If the item classification for the tax is:
    Material Item
    The tax code determination for material will start.
    Service Item
    The tax code determination for service will start.
    When you enter service information in the marketing documents, the tax code determination for service documents will start

  • Automatic VAT code during fixed asset PO creation

    Hi all,
    We have a classic AUC acquisition process : through MM with IO allocation.
    My question is = is it possible to automatically affect one VAT code relating to fixed asset acquisition during purchase order creation? (and not VAT relating to goods and services acquisition, we have to distinguish both with french rules).
    The person in charge of PO creation don't have to choice between VAT codes, this is the reason why VAT code has to be affected automatically.
    Thanks in advance for your answer.
    Best Regards

    Hi Ocean,
    if you use as91 you have to enter as followed:
    ***.acquis.val.     120.242,00 <- enter
    ***.down paymts
    ***.reval.of RV
    ***.invst.grant
    Accm.ord.deprec     70.809,18 <- enter
    ***.Spec.dep.
    ***.unplnd.dep.
    ***.reserves
    ***.reval.O.dep
    Net book value     49.432,82 <- calculated automatically
    ***. interest
    Reval. posted
    Ord.dep.posted     3.340,06 <- enter
    Pstd.spec.dep.
    Pstd.unpl.dep.     0,00
    Res.posted
    Of course SAP reverses the amount because it is entered as ord dep. posted (this means current fiscal year!!!) insted of accm. ord. depr. (depr. up to 31.12.2007)
    The ***. depreciation up to 31.12.2007 has to be enterend in ACCM. ord. deprec.
    The *** and posted depreciation from the current year has to entered in ORD.DEP.Posted, pls. have a look at my calculation.
    How to correct the fields Ord.-dep. posted and Accm ord. dep? This depends on many parameters:
    Have you carried out the datantransfer already in the P-System????
    Any other postings for SAP AM already carried out
    How many assets have to be changed.
    You can reset the Companycode in AM (only recommendable if deprun is not posted and no other postings - retirements, aquisitions transfers have been entered). Then start a new upload
    Even lsmw and a BI-recording as92 with the last screen could be a solution.
    At least if you have only a few assets - correct them manually - it's not worth the effort to create a BIR and a LSMW - the user is faster.
    Best regards

  • More than one VAT code on one line item?

    Hello,
    Running ECS SRM 5.0.
    Is it absolutely impossible to set more than one VAT code on one order line in a SC or PO?
    Can this be acomplished by using a user exit or anything?
    This demand comes from a public sector company which pays different VAT dependent on what they use as account assignment. In some orders when split account assignment is used, it might be two different VAT codes on the same line.

    Hi
    Which SRM version are you using ?
    As far as i know, this is standard SRM functionality as it not feasible to have multiple VAT codes against one line item.. This is not possible .. Please confirm the same with SAP by creating a Customer OSS message.. Do let me know...
    However this is possible by making the code as per your business requirments using BBP_DOC_CHANGE_BADI.. However, since i have not tried this.. You need to try this yourself..
    Hope this will answer your query..

  • I defaulted input help field (pick list) but SAP CRM still asking for one

    We are running SAP CRM 7.0.
    Some fields as you know are dialog / pick list fields.
    What I mean by this is they are input help fields where you
    can click a little square (in sap crm 7.0) to the right of the text box
    and it brings up a dialog screen of values that you can select from.
    Here is an example screen shot of what I am talking about:
    http://img834.imageshack.us/img834/5676/imageschak.png
    So what I have done is implemented the GETTER function for this input help field so that by default it has a value.
    The code is like so:
    method GET_CURRENCY.
    CALL METHOD SUPER->GET_CURRENCY
      EXPORTING
        ATTRIBUTE_PATH = attribute_path
       ITERATOR       = iterator
      RECEIVING
        VALUE          = value.
          if value eq ''.
            IF sy-langu EQ 'E'.
              VALUE = 'USD'.
            elseif sy-langu EQ 'D'.
              VALUE = 'EUR'.
            ENDIF.
          endif.
    endmethod.
    Here even is a link to this method that I created: Field Currency of Context Node BTADMINH - How to set default
    The method works great it sets the default of the currency to say USD.  When I click the create button to create an opportunity the field currency is set to USD, this is great because it makes my job easier that I dont have to click the input help button and select a currency, it is already there.
    But once I click the "Save" button for an opportunity I get a small error in the error notification box that tells me I need to select a currency!  But why is this happening a currency already exists?  So If I click the input help (the little button) and reselect the currency value USD then save my opportunity this error goes away.
    The question is why does this happen?  I need it so that the default currency value is recognized by the SAP CRM system.  Why do I have to go back in and re-select the currency if it is already set?  Is there some sort of consistency check or something I need to do to eliminate this problem?
    Here is a screen shot after creating an opportunity with the default Currency set to USD (this means I did not select USD in the dialog input help it was defaulted by the getter method:
    http://img832.imageshack.us/img832/3011/enteracurrency.png
    Only if I go back into edit mode and actually click the little square to bring up the dialog of values and select USD does this error go away.  Why does this happen ?

    I called SET_CURRENCY right after setting my value and the error is now gone.
      SET_CURRENCY( EXPORTING ATTRIBUTE_PATH = ATTRIBUTE_PATH
                    iterator = iterator
                    value = value ).
    Got the tip from Pieter who has a good blog on SAP CRM: http://sapcrmweblog.blogspot.com/

  • Posting invoices in F-43 where items have different VAT codes

    Hi,
    I am not sure whether I am in the correct forum so just boot me into the correct one if I guessed incorrectly.
    I have to start by saying I have almost no FI knowledge and it seems no-one in the business has enough FI applications knowledge. I am thus flying blind.
    So while the company I am used to working in has MM integration which makes things a lot easier, they set up a sister company where they only want FI.
    The sister company is located in UK and I set up tax codes for them
    0%, 17.5% and the other 0%.
    Our finance team advised them to use f-43 to enter the invoices, attach the vat code and away they go.
    The problem comes when some items on the actual invoice has 17.5% and some have 0%. This means the vat % on the total varies.
    They are requesting the ability to override the % or the vat value, but still have the invoice recorded with a VAT code so that they can run VAT reports.
    I am sure that there must be SAP standard ways to solve this, but I don't know yet where to look and I don't have enough time to really start from scratch.
    Any help will be useful.

    Hi Charl,
    What ever you  are asking is against the procedure.... System has to calculate the VAT amount based on the stated percentage....
    So you can not chagne the VAT % or VAT value while posting the transaction.... But what you can do is to change the Tax base amount....
    When you are posting the invoice, system automatically takes the invoice value as bais for tax calculation, but one can change the Tax base value. So if user changed that value, system calculates the VAT amout on the modified base....
    In this way you can change the VAT amount....
    Thanks  & Regards

  • Dcs interface with sap pm

    Dear experts,
    can anyone explain me the basic steps and information  regarding dcs interface with sap .
    i want to do this sap implementation for the thermal power station.     i want to generate notifications and work orders when the parameteres of particular equipment crosses its range.
    how the important parameters from the dcs is linked with sap server.  how i can get the data from dcs and pass it to the sap system.
    can anyone give the helping hand.

    Hi,
    You can use XI as a connector instead of ALE to connect mySAP ERP to SAP Business One. The DI API is the connector for SAP Business One.
    The DI API or Data Interface API is part of Business One and the Business One SDK. B1i exists to easily connect mySAP and SAP Business One without typical coding that would be required simply by using XI to connect with SAP Business One and mySAP. B1i contains all of the connections, pre-defined content, message handling and error correction for common business scenarios to connect these to systems. Without B1i, you have to hand code everything. If you are not connecting with SAP Business One, then you may not have a need or requirement to use B1i. There are more detailed whitepapers here from the SAP Business One main page on SDN. You should have a look at those.
    You should have SAP Portal authorisation to access the following info. Go to sevicemarketplace -> smb -> SBO -> Install'n'Updates->Updates->Updates for SAP Business One->SAP Business One Releases prior to 2004->SBO-MYSAP INTEGRAT.TOOLKIT 1.5.
    You can find there an presentation how to Integrate SBO with mySAP via XI (https://websmp203.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700002285912003E.ppt)

  • Vat Code Determination

    Hi,
    I've looked at past threads relating to the config of vat code determination and it seems that our current config setting for the tax calculation is set up correctly. Currently the config is defaulted to 'Tax Calculation occurs in backend' .
    However on creation of the PO in SRM the vat code has to be manually set in the PO instead of defaulting automitically say for example if a foreign vendor is selected.
    I've tested creating a PO manually in the R3 backend and there the tax code is automatically set.
    Any ideas on why it is not doing this in SRM?Is there anything else i should look for?
