Define a new parameter - SE80?

I need to define a new parameter that should be used/inserted into User Profile - Own Data -> Parameters and after that should be checked into a program (if the user has that parameter or not).
How can i define this new parameter? With SE80? What are all the steps (and how can i define what values should have this custom parameter)?

You can create parameter-id as below.
Go to Tcode:SM30......> Givae table name TPARA...>clik on Maintain
....> GIve the Parametr ID and enter give the Text description
and save.
This way u can carte parametr id.
In the Table for the filed u can assign at data element level.

I suppose you are talking about a report, right? I see 2 potential problems to be worked around:
1- how to pass the comma in an URL parameter, without making APEX understanding it as a separator for multiple parameters?
if you're running the report from a branch in other page, just check the 'save before branching' property.
Otherwise you will have to escape the commas, replacing it by some other character (like a '*', for example) right before submitting the page - of course you will need to add a computation to decode the conversion made (from '*' back to ',') in your report, in a Before Page style.

2- how to utilize the parameter in the context of your query?

Define a context parameter not using web.xml

Dears,
With a web.xml file, it is possible to define a context parameter available in the web app via de ServetContext.getInitParameters method.
Is it possible to define a context parameter not using the web.xml file ? Can I, in a java Class, init a custom context parameter ? (for exampel, init as a context param a key/value pair read from a property file).
PS: the need is that the value (hmac key) currently define in the web.xml needs to be updated monthly. Apparently, under WebSphere (the app server we are using) changing the web.xml of the deployed app it not enought for it to be taken into account.

file).Does it necessarily have to be a value retrieved through the context param ? AFAIK, there's no way you could programatically 'set' an init param, which going by the name, 'init param' is quite understandable.
You could define this value in a property file and read it in, in the init method. You should provide a mechanism to reload the new value after 'x' days. One approach is a Timer that does the job, do have a look at SteveJLuke's recommendations on the same in this thread

I am having trouble with my Mac Mini's ethernet connection. Defining a new network interface shows no ethernet adaptor. Reloading SL from DVD repaired. But SL update lost ethernet again. Will Lion Fix?

I am having trouble with my mac mini ethernet. It had been working for weeks after an update to SL 10.6.8.
Once it went out and i repaired it by defining a new connection from System Preferences ->Network->(left panel service, +).
But yesterday, after a power up. my ethernet was not working again. I tried this old trick to repair it, but the interface choices
listed for '+' a new service did not include Ethernet any more. And the Utilities->System Profiler->Ethernet Cards shows
no ethernet available.
As a last ditch effort i reloaded my original SL from DVD. (I think it was version 10.6.4 but i could be mistaken on the version).
The ethernet worked! But KeyNote wasn't going to work because apparently the version i purchased depends on 10.6.8.
So I upgraded again to SL 10.6.8 (Plus some other updates like AirPort which i don't use).
Now the Ethernet is not working again. I see the same symptoms as before with the Ethernet seeming not installed.
Is this a problem seen by others?
Would going to Lion fix the problem?
Could AirPort actually be the culprit and not SL?
If i stay with my original SL, would i need to repurchase a version of KeyNote for the older version of SL?

While you're at it, resetting the PRAM won't hurt anything and 'might' help is SMC reset didn't work (PRAM does some port control):

Something else you might try .... you don't say how you're updating to 10.6.8, however, if you're using Software Update, you might try downloading the 10.6.8 combo update, which contains all updates to 10.6. Sometimes, Software Update doesn't work quite right, and installing the combo update fixes that. Download the update from Apple's download site at http://support.apple.com/downloads/ , using Disk Utility repair permissions, apply the combo update, then repair permissions again.

How to add a new parameter to a forwarded request?

Hi all,
I have a RequestDispatcher that forwards my request into a servlet. However, if some processing error happens I would like to include another parameter (an error message) in my request being forwarded. Oh, yes, I don't want it to be via GET, but via POST.
So, this
getServletContext().getRequestDispatcher("/ProcServlet?message=nonononononon").forward(request, response);will not serve for my purposes. Also, I don't want to go into directly writing my new parameter into the outputstream... is there another way to do that via the Servlet/JSP API?

Problems when creating a new parameter for a parametric role

I'm trying to create a new parameter for a parametric role, but it seems that it is never updated, because the BPM engine does not return any error.
The scenario is: I have a process that has the role "Brands_Admin", the brands are populated by Web Service dynamically, then the parameters of the role would be those brands. In this case, if a new brand is registered (WS returns a new brand), I simply create a new parameter for the role through the "process administrator" of the BPM Enterprise.
I'm trying to create the new parameter as follows:

In the code above, the BPM Studio will print the new parameter correctly, but in next activity (like a Screenflow) when I try to get the parameters of that role again, there are only the parameters that were registered using the BPM Studio, the parameters that are created programmatically not appear.

When a project that contains this logic to create a new parameter for a parametric role programmatically is deployed in BPM Enterprise, some strange behaviours occurs.
The first is that I cannot see through the process administrator the new parameter that was created for the parametric role.
The second is that if I create this new parameter through process administrator and associate an user to the role that contains the new parameter I cannot access the deployment process. In workspace (authenticated with user that is associated with the role that contains the new parameter) I cannot see anything about the process.

How do I define a new salutation for use in vendor & customer master data?

Can someone please advise how/where I need to go in order to define a new salutation type (eg: to be used in vendor and customer master set up)
We currently have several standard salutations (eg: Mr, Miss) but not some really common ones we use (eg: Dr, Rev, Sir etc)
I guess this might be somewhere in SPRO/IMG but anyone with the answer will be awarded points.

How to Define a new tax, same as WHT - 11i AP

We use 11.5.8 Oracle Payables, We need to define a new tax (royalty tax) exactly similar to Withholding Tax.
In the invoice distribution the tax line should be negative figure which will deduct the payment amount just like in WHT.
Please let us know what type of Tax we should define to solve this and how to apply it in Invoices.

You description of Scenario is indicating that you should withhold a part of Invoice amount i.e the Amount is inclusive of Invoice Amount.
Hence I think WHT is suitable for you.
and how to apply it in Invoices.
Define Withholding Tax options in Payable Options window.
Define a Withholding Tax Code and Group.
Enable WHT at Supplier Site and assign particular Tax group to Supplier Header or Site as per requirement.
Define Special Calender Withholding Tax.
When supplier is selected at Invoice level, Withholding Tax group shall be automatically populated at invoice level, which will take care of Withholding at the time of Invoice Validation or Payment as per Options set.

Get info. (Command-i)
There you will see a place "Open with" where you can select the application for that file.
Hit the "Change all..." button to do this for all files of this type.

PARAMETERS: p_matnr LIKE mara-matnr.
The new parameter displayed in ME28.
Anyhow, i'm not able to change the selection text from p_matnr to "Material Number" as there is no enhancement in INITIALIZATION for me to set the text dynamically. (i'm not able to change the text element via goto->text elements->selection texts as its standard sap).
Can someone please share if you've done this enhancement before?

How to Add New Parameter in Cluster with LabVIEW Executable Program?

   In this VI，it can write the parameter in Cluster to the database (Access 2003).it run well.
   But When I add another parameter in Cluster,such as EE,I have to modify this Cluster. And at the same time,I have to modiy the database (I should add a column of EE).if this vi build to exe, how can I achieve it?Can LabVIEW have any way to increase new parameter EE in Cluster and in Database in executable program?
   Would you give me some advice?Thank you

It's rather unclear what you try to do here. In your first post you talk IMHO about the high level Datatbase Toolkit functions that take a cluster and translate it automagically into the appropriate SQL Query/Update.
Your second question seems to be about the user interface of your application.
Proper application design would mean to separate the user interface aspect from the actual database query in some ways. I definitely wouldn't use the same cluster for both. Also if you simply hide a control on the frontpanel (possible also in an executable) it still is present logically and if you end up using the high level database toolkit functions with that cluster it will result into a query or update of the database with all the data in the cluster, also the hidden ones.
