Degree Audit Callup Point and Structure View of RC's (PIQRULEWB_AC)

Hello,
I have linked a rule container to an academic object (type SC, in this case), via callup point 60 (degree audit). When I am in the structure view looking at this, I notice that the popup text over the callup points icon says "Non-Academic Callup Pnt". I have read a VSR cookbook, and was under the impression that RC's linked to academic objects would have academic callup points. Am I looking at a bug (SAP GUI client 710; server 4.72), or do I have a misunderstanding about the degree audit callup point?
Thanks,
  Eric

Hi Eric,
actually the use of Rule Containers and Callup-Points in Degree Audit is a bit different than how it is used for the academic processes. While you define particular rules like prerequisites using the VSR rule elements for callup points within activities like module booking or admission, in Degree Audit the rules in the rule containers are "collected" to build the audit profile for the student. Also the concept of academic and non-academic callup points does not really apply to the use callup points for audits.
I would not necessarily consider it as a bug that the display shows the callup-point as "non-academic" - however it could be a bit confusing and I suggest that you sent a low priority OSS message such that our development can review whether they could make that a bit clearer to the end-user.

Joachim

  • Moving files in Content and Structure View hangs on Long Running Operation Status window

    Hello,
I have the following issue in a site collection: when I go to site content and structure and browse to a document library, and I select multiple documents, click actions --> move and give the target destination, the screen keeps hanging in LongRunningOperationProgress.aspx
with the message "starting" and the running circle. The files do get moved, but the screen does not come back.
In other site collections this works as normal, and when the LongRunningOperationProgress.aspx page is open, it also states (n of N files moved) or something similar. This status is missing in the faulty site collection.
When I open https:\\<site collection url>\Long%20Running%20Operation%20Status\AllItems.aspx I see that an entry is created here with title "(no title)" and Status "NotStarted".
I have included the ULS log, filtered on the thread ID. I am sure there are some clues there (like Invalid text value.  A text field contains invalid data. Please check the value and try again.<nativehr>0x81020018</nativehr><nativestack></nativestack>),
but I can't figure out where to start solving this problem. The Windows event logs don't give any errors. This issue exists on both web front ends (tested locally). The farm is using 14.0.6106.5002.

    Hi,
From your error message, this occurs when the value you supplied for a text field is larger than 255 characters. To address the problem, store less text in the field
or change the field type from text to note.

  • Content And Structure Page Missing Content And Structure Report Views

    Hello,
In our Sharepoint 2013 farm, we have a site colllection with Turkish Language Pack.
When Farm admin displays the Content And Structure page, he has access to all
Content And Structure Reports from the View menu.
Howeverall other users including site collection admin
could only access to default view from the view menu.
Content And Structure Reports list can be displayed by those users.
I checked the permissions, sharepoint logs with verbose level and event logs but had no clue at all.
Is there any points that should be checked?
    Kind regards
    Serkan

    http://www.learningsharepoint.com/2014/01/28/users-only-see-default-view-in-content-and-structure-in-sharepoint/
To resolve the issue, I started by checking the following :
    1. If the Publishing Features on the site Activated – The Publishing features were enabled on Site and Site Collection levels.
    2. Does Site Collection Admins or another user see the Options – Only Site Collection admins were seeing the extra Options. Other users like with Contribute Permissions and even Full Control would not see the Options.
    3. Lastly, I checked if the Users who are trying to Access the Views in Content and Structure tool had Contribute Permissions on the site –
All users who were experiencing these issues had Contribute Permissions on the site.
So after looking at the above facts, I realized that something is wrong with the permissions on the site and that is restricting these users to see all the View Options as seen by Site Collection admins.
Solution – While checking the permissions I found out that the Top-level Site Collection had NT authenticated users added to it but with a “Limited Access” assigned to it Instead of the required “Read”. Switching the permission for NT authenticated users
(or users who had this issue) to “Read” fixed the problem.
So the moral here is that if in case your users are not seeing any Options other than “Default View” in Content and Structure View drop-down, try giving them at least “Read” permissions at the Site Collection or top-level to make other Options Visible.
If this helped you resolve your issue, please mark it Answered

  • Degree audit cookbook and best practise

At Freie Universität Berlin we started implementing SLCM degree audit for the graduation processes of our study programs and face now the challenge to educate our administrators in usage of the tools to define the appropriate requirement catalogs. We are using Version 6.0 of CM.
Since degree audit is a complex process to be customized and enhanced by BADI implementations and objects (rule containers containing requirements) we asked SAP for documentation usable for training administrators with erperienced SAP-CM-knowlegde in other areas.
It seems that such a documentation does not exist yet, neither in help.sap.com nor in the SND-marketplace, so we are now to ask the highered-BPX-Forum.
We search for general documentation and how-to-Documents (cookbooks) about:
    - setting up requirement patterns, requirement catalogs (and versions of them), selectors, filters, figures and performance indices to model the requirements of a given program and anchoring them to the academic structure;
    - If there exists a graphic of a "database scheme" which illustrates the dependencies of the objects used in degree audit this would also be helpful.
Can anyone point us to such documentation?
We would also like to be pointed to/share knowledge about:
    - best practices in the pragmatics how to compile study regulations into requirement catalogs using the given objects, BADIs and SPRO yielding both: accuracy and maintainability;
    - How-tos about enabling enterprise services assignable to business roles or automatic procedures and composable to an example process including
       - the assignment of requirement catalogs to student's study;
       - the creation of requirement profiles for candidates;
       - starting and saving audit runs;
       - propagating their results to internal qualifications;
       - completing degree.

  • All "Site Content and Structure" default views incorrectly showing "There are no items to show in this view"

    Hi All,
On my SharePoint Online site (Office 365) all my “Site Content and Structure” default views are showing “There are no items to show in this view”. For example the “Checked out To Me” view shows “There are no items to show in this view” (shown in screenshot
below). I know this is incorrect and should show at least ten items that have been checked out to me for over two months. I am also a member of the Site Collection Administration and Owner groups.
What I am trying to do is view all the "Checked Out items" within a Site Collection including it's sub-sites.
Is there a feature that needs to be activated to get the correct information from the “Site Content and Structure” default views?
    I hope you can help
    Colin

    Hi Colin,
As I understand, all “Site Content and Structure” default views are showing “There are no items to show in this view” in your SharePoint online site.
    Check things below:
    1. Go to site content and structure logs in site setting to check if there is correct information.
    2. Create a new site collection to check if there are items in Site Content and Structure.
    3. Switch another computer to check if it can work.
If the issue still exists, I recommend you to post it in the O365 forum.
    http://community.office365.com/en-us/f/default.aspx
The reason why we recommend posting appropriately is you will get the most qualified pool of respondents, and other partners who the forums regularly can either share their knowledge or learn from your interaction with us. Thank you for your understanding.

  • Setting in and out points in list view.

I am in list view.  I am showing several favorited clips from one video.  Say I am playing back the third favorited range and I want to select in and out points for that favorited range.  The video is playing and I hit i.  I am immediately jumped from the favorited range I have selected to the first favorited clip in the list.  When I click back on the clip I was setting the in point for I find that it has set the in point where I wanted.  The entrire process then repeats when I try to select the out point.  Set out point.  Jumps up to first clip.  Click back on original clip to get to my out point.
This is very frustrating and makes using favorites and list view a huge waste of time.  Can anyone help?

That should not happen.  Before anythign else, do these two things.
1- Go into the "Final Cut Pro" menu, "Command", and be sure "Default" is checked.   Quit out of FCP X.
2- Open System Preferences (Apple menu), Keyboard, Keyboard Shortcuts.  Click the "Restore Defaults" option.  The issue here is OS shortcuts will override app shortcuts.
3- Launch FCP X and try again.  If that doesn't fix it...
4- Download the free app "Preference Manager" from  Digital Rebellion (dot com) and use it to delete the FCP X pref files.
After you've done all of these, report back and let us know what's up.

  • "Freeze/Unfreeze" and "New View" buttons of the Structure window are gone

    Hello everyone!
I'm using jDev 11.1.2.1.0 and for quite some time now I realized the "Freeze/Unfreeze" and "New View" buttons of the Structure window are gone.
Have they moved or hide somewhere else, or they are gone for good?
    Thanks a lot
    ~apostolos

Looks like this has been intentionally done
Eliminate Freeze & New View (also in PI). These options were confusing users and for those who understood them found them not very usefulCourtesy - http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/jdev/jdev-11gr2-nf-404365.html.
I'm not really sure though what you need to do if you actually need those features

  • Audit Policy and Event Viewer

    Hi everyone,
I'm a junior IT auditor seeking for answers about audit policy and event viewer.
First of all I would like to know what are the difference of log that we obtain from audit policy and event viewer?
I would like to know that can event viewer show these logs:
    Audit account logon events
    Audit account management
    Audit directory service access
    Audit logon events
    Audit object access
    Audit policy change
    Audit privilege user
    Audit process tracking
    Audit system events
    Thanks in advanced :)

    Hi sally_scrubb,
As you said, if you configure audit policy, it can provide broad security audit capabilities for client computers and servers. And if you configure this policy, you will find the related events in the Event Viewer.
For your information, please refer to the following article:
Audit Policy Settings Under Local Policies\Audit Policy
In this article, you can find the several links which deliver more detailed information about the items which were listed in your post. From the links, you can learn how to configure the item, what you can get from the item, and the related events about
    the item.
    Hope that helps!

    Hi Lakshmi,
Could you please share with us how it was solved.
    "CALL METHOD lv_current->get_properties
    IMPORTING
    es_attributes = lv_search."
Did you get any values in lv_search ?
Because while using value nodes for search view (which inherits from advance search controller  class), the above method does not return any search values entered in the fields.
Please let me know how did you solve it.
    Thanks & Regards

  • What is meant by change pointer and change request

    hi,
what is meant by change pointer and change request in sap r3
plz can u any one notes or link on this , or if possible briefly tell about this..
i am looking for clear idea on this..
    thanks
    Ruban

With respect to Dictionary Change pointers means all the changes done to dictionary objects.
All the change logs with respect to tables are stored in CDHDR and CDPOS table
Change Pointers in broad sense are used with respect to IDOC
Change Pointers & Reduction of IDOCs.
Applications, which write change documents, will also try to write change
pointers for ALE operations. These are log entries to remember all modified
    data records relevant for ALE.
Following Steps must be followed in case of Change Pointer.
    1) Goto Transaction BD60.
Note down the Details of the Message Type for which change pointer has to activate. Details like Function Module, Classification Object, ALE object Type etc.
    E.g. ZDEBP3
    2) Next step is goto transaction BD53
    Click on change button.
First select the segment for which the fields has to modified (either remove or
    add ).
It will show the fields in a pop-up window where the user can select, deselect the respective fields.
Save the settings for the Message type. Don’t forget to activate the change pointers by clicking Activate Change pointers button on the main screen.
    3) Once the activation is done system will reset the settings for the Message type in Change pointers (BD60). Maintained the old settings for the Message type.
    Check this FAQ
. Do you really need change pointers?
You need change pointers to distribute changes with the ALE SMD tool. If you do not use this tool, you do not need to write change pointers.
You can deactivate change pointers and activate them again with the transaction BD61.
    2. Do you really need to activate change pointers for this messages type?
If some messages types are no longer to be distributed by change pointers, you can deactivate change pointers for this messages type.
You can deactivate change pointers for the message type
    and reactivate them again.
For reduced message types, deactivate the change pointer with the
    Reduction tool (transaction BD53).
    3. Are there still too many change pointers to be processed?
The change pointers are analyzed with the transaction BD21 or the report RBDMIDOC in ALE and flagged as processed. If the change pointers are created periodically, this report should also run periodically.
    4. Are no longer required change pointers reorganized in time?
The report RBDCPCLR (transaction BD22) to reorganize the change pointer should run periodically. Depending on how many change pointers are created or processed, you can schedule the background job hourly, daily or weekly. You should delete all obsolete and processed change pointers. You can also use this report for specified message types.
We come across change pointer technique while dealing with master data distribution thru ALE/IDOCs
When we want to reflect changes made to master data(i.e customer master, vendor master, material master ...) visible to other clients listed in customer distribution model, we follow change pointer technique.
    What is customer distribution model?
A customer model depicts various messages (master data, transactional data) exchanged between the systems and establishes a sender and receiver of data
A customer model is always maintained on any system for the entire distributed network of SAP systems, so it must be distributed to various systems in the distributed network.
These r some details regarding change pointer technique which u may find it usefull.............
The change pointers technique is based on the change document technique, which tracks changes made to key documents in SAP, such as the material master, customer master, vendor master & sales orders. changes made to a document are recorded in the change document header table CHDHR, and additional change pointers are written in the BDCP table for changes relevant to ALE. BDCPS table stores the status of changed documents processed or not.
The process for distributing master data using change pointers involves the following steps.
The application writes change documents. SAP maintains change documents for
several objects in the system, such as materials, customers, invoices, and bank data, to provide an audit trail for changes made to an object. A change document object represents a set of tables for which changes are recorded. For example, the change document for the material master is named MATERIAL and it contains the various tables of the material master object, such as MARA and MARC.
When an application transaction makes changes to an object, the application writes change documents, which are stored in the CDHDR and CDPOS tables for each change made to an object.
    Tip
Execute transaction SCDO to see a list of change document objects and
    their tables.
The SMD (Shared Master Data) tool writes change pointers. When changes are made to an object, the SMD tool checks the ALE settings and consults the ALE distribution model to determine whether a receiver is interested in the object that was changed. If the system finds an appropriate receiver, the system creates change pointers in the BDCP table that point to change documents in the CDHDR table.
The ALE programs analyze change pointers and generate IDocs. SAP provides
standard function modules that read the change pointer table and generate IDocs for the objects that were changed. These programs are designed to ignore multiple changes and create only one IDoc. For example, if a material is changed four times before the function module is invoked, only one IDoc with the latest data from the material master data is created. The function modules are invoked by a standard report, RBDMIDOC. The selection parameters of this report allow you to specify the message type for which change pointers are to be analyzed. Configuration
you must carry out the following configuration steps to enable master data
distribution based on changes to the object.
Step 1: Enable Change Pointers Globally
    Transaction: BD61
This option enables the change pointer process globally. Make sure that the flag is checked.
Step 2 :Enable Change Pointers for a Message Type
    Transaction: BD50
This setting is required for activating change pointers for a specific message type.
make sure that the Active flag is checked for your message type.
Step 3 :Specify the Fields for Which Change Pointers Are to Be Written
    Transaction: BD52
For standard master data objects such as the material, customer, and vendor objects, SAP already provides a list of fields for which change pointers are written. If you are satisfied with the standard set of fields, you can skip this step. If you want to add new fields, you must add entries for the required fields. If you are not interested in IDocs being generated for changes to a particular field, you can remove it from the list. For example, if you do not want to distribute the
material master for changes made to the Catalog Profile (RBNRM) field, you can delete this entry from the table.
Step 4: Changing a Field in the Master Data
Change a field in the master data object for which the change pointer is enabled. For example, if you change the net weight of a material in the material master data, a change pointer is written.
Tip : You can verify a change document and change pointer by viewing entries in
    tables CDHDR and BDCP, respectively.
Step 5 :Executing Program RBDMIDOC to Process Change Pointers
Execute program RBDMIDOC to initiate the process of generating an IDoc. On the selection screen, specify the message type. For example, you can specify MATMAS. After you execute the process, it displays the number of entries processed.
    Note :
Normally, you schedule this program to run frequently and start IDoc
    generation for different message types.
Step 6 : View the idocs in WE02/05

  • Line type and structure.

What is the difference between line type and structure?
one real time use of both.
instead of line type we can directly use the corresponding tables.
    Points assured.
    regards,
    Prabhu.

    Hi
<b>The line type of a table type can be defined by:</b>
Specification of a type that already exists (data element, structure, table type, table, view) whose properties are then copied as properties of the defined table line.
Direct type input, where data type, number of positions, and, if required, decimal places, are entered directly.
    Specification of a reference type.
    <b>structure</b>
The table category defines how the logical table description defined in the ABAP Dictionary is represented in the database.
There are the following table categories:

  • Difference between Table and Structure

    Dear SD Gurus,
Can anybody tell me what is the difference between a Table and Structure
    Pls Reply.

Tables are Database, which stay in system for long duration , as good as permanent, untill & unless the data is archived, which is not very frequent. Data at transaction level are captured from multiple tables, so as to meet the requirement. We can view the data in the table through T.code SE11 & SE16. there are certain tables in which data can be maintained as well as displayed. To maintain data, we use T.Code: SM30 or SM31.
Structures are temporary table & hold the data for that particular instance or transaction.

  • Structure & view

what is the difference between structure & view.
    pls answer this question,
    amruth.

    Hi Amruth,
    Structures
A structure is a user-defined sequence of data types.
It fully defines the data object.
You can either access the entire data object, or its individual components. ABAP has no predefined
structures. You therefore need to define your own structures, either in the ABAP program in
which you want to use it, or in the ABAP Dictionary.
You use structures in ABAP programs to group work areas that logically belong together.
Since the individual elements within a structure can be of any type, and can also themselves be
structures or internal tables, the possible uses of structures are very wide-ranging. For example,
you can use a structure with elementary data types to display lines from a database table within a
program. You can also use structures containing aggregated elements to include all of the
attributes of a screen or control in a single data object.
    <b>Views:</b>
    Views
By defining views, logical views permitting access to certain data can be created specially for the application. The structure of such a view is defined by specifying the tables and fields used in the view.
A view can be used to combine the data distributed in several tables. Fields which are not required can be masked out, minimizing interfaces.
The data of a view is derived from one or more tables, but not stored physically. The simplest form of deriving data is to mask out one or more fields from a base table (projection) or to include only certain entries of a base table in the view (selection). More complicated views can comprise several base tables, the individual tables being linked with a relational join operation.
The base tables of the view must be selected in the first step of a view definition. In the second step, these tables must be linked by defining the join conditions. It is also possible to copy the join condition from foreign key defined between the tables. In the third step, you must select the fields of the base tables to be used in the view. Selection conditions which restrict the records in the view can be formulated in the fourth step.
Four different types of view are supported. These differ in the way in which the view is implemented and in the methods permitted for accessing the view data.
Database Views are implemented with an equivalent view on the database.
Projection Views are used to mask out fields from the tables (only projection). The R/3 System implements the access to the base tables.
Help Views can be used as selection method in Search Helps.
Maintenance Views are used for business-oriented views on data. Access to the base tables is implemented using a special maintenance module which can be generated automatically from the view definition.
The join conditions for database views can be formulated using equality relationships between any base fields. The join conditions for the other view types must be obtained from existing foreign keys. Tables therefore can only be combined into a maintenance view or help view if they are linked to one another with foreign keys.
The Maintenance Status defines whether you can only read the view or whether the view data can also be maintained.

  • Error while accessing a library using content and structure

I have a library having document and folder inside it. When I open the library using content and structure I get an error with a correlation ID. When checked the the logs with Correlation ID got an error message "View 'All Document' does not exist."
'All Document' is name of default view on the library.
When I open the library from view all site content the library is being opened.
    Please help!!!

    Hello Victoria,
    Thanks for  the response.
I have tried troubleshooting steps given by you.
Check if the issue occurs with other users. Use another user to access the library in Content and Structure and then compare the results. --
I tried with different users but no luck
Make sure that the user account with issue has permission to view the All Documents view of the library. --
Yes, user Account have the permission
Check if the issue occurs with other libraries in the Content and Structure. If not, I recommend to save the library as
a template including contents and then create a new library based on this template. After that use the new library instead of the old library. --
No other library have this problem. I cannot save the library as template including the contents as the it has many folders and  files. The current size of library is 786 MB
Clear cache in the browser or use another browser to see if the issue still occurs. --
    tries but issue persists.
    Best regards,
    Ratnesh
