Deleting Cost Centers...

Hi All,
I want to delete a cost center related to some transaction data.
So when i am trying to delete directly some of the cost centers are not getting deleted.
I have reset the transaction data for that particular company code and tried again but it shows the same result for those cost centers.
Even i tried changing the validity period of the cost center is OKEON but it was not changing and throughing the same error saying dependent data exists for those cost centers.
Could any one please suggest me how to delete such cost center....

Hi
SAP does not support the deletion of cost centers when transaction data has been posted. Even if the transactions have been reversed, i.e. the balance is zero. This will create inconsistency in the system, i.e. you will have transaction data with no master data (cost centre) behind the transaction. You should ensure that you really want to do this.

Problems after transfering Cost centers with LSMW

Hi,
I have a problem after transfering Cost Centers with LSMW.
The first Batch input run created all cost centers in one CC Group erroneously - cause they should be placed in different CC groups.
I changed LSMW settings and made another batch input run - now the Cost centers were created in proper groups. I think that I deleted all CC's created in previous batch input run, but now I am not too sure, because there is a problem...
Cost centers exist both in their proper groups and in the one group mentioned by me before. So there is such situation that Cost center appears in Standar hierarchy twice at the same time.
When I delete cost centers - they are removed from their proper groups but the CC entry remains in that one group - all CC are there inactive.
How can I get rid of them. I tried deleting them - but it's impossible - the system doesn't see them.
When I run the batch input again - the same cost centers appear in proper groups and at the same time they become active in the one group. The standard hierarchy group is not UNIQE.
Please advice me how to delete these entries from standard hierachy.

Hi,
Always recommended before loading into live system: upload in test system and check. check again just to make sure all is correct before real load.
In your case you probably would have been best to do a group change after incorrect upload.
Do Ambiguity check in stadnard hierarchy to explore all incorrect entries. Depending on your version yo ucan change in that function (ECC6) ore need to run a report. Before running the report check that CC master records have correct entry. The report is RKCORRH1
Again, try in QA first and run in Test Run

BAPI_COSTCENTERGROUP_CREATE not adding Cost centers to group

Hello,
I am using BAPI_COSTCENTERGROUP_CREATE to add/delete Cost Centers from a group by passing Controlling Area, Group name and Cost centers in HIERARCHYVALUES table.
Though the BAPI successfully deletes existing Cost centers from the group, while adding, it gives error message that 'This function is not allowed in the standard hierarchy'
If anyone has worked with this BAPI before or faced a similar error, kindly revert.

Step 1: Select your Cost Center in OKEW which is assigned to the Splitting Str
Eg: Cost Ctr 1001 is assigned to Splitting Str Z1... Tick the Check box against 1001 under Z1 Splitting Str
Step 2: Do a Single Click on the text "Non Assigned Cost Centers"
Step 3: Press Shift +F6 (Or Click on the Assign Button, next to the Pencil icon)

Delete/deactivate cost centers

Dear Friends:
We have unwanted cost centrs in configuration client.We want to delete them or deactivate them, i.e they are not taken into development system.Is is possible.Please advise?

Hi,
There are two ways to delete the cost centers:
1) simple way: you may find a transaction in customizing which is used to delete testing-purpose cost objects, regardless transaction data existing or not. (did not connect to any system, so can not list the path here, if you could not find, let me know. I'll specify it at later time)
2) a bit complicated way: as dependent data exists in the cost centers, before deleting them via KS04, all the dependent transactions must be deleted from table, e.g. COKA/COSP/COSS/COEP/COBK/..., there are some reports listed in some notes will guide you: notes 45122/549760/51513/175522
But before doing so, thoroughly testing should be done carefully...

How to delete cost/profit centers and groups

I am looking for a way to mass delete profit centers, cost centers, profit center groups and cost center groups. KS14 and 0ke2 works for centers but not groups. Are there any other t-codes or function modules?

Hi,
There is no mass transaction to delete the groups; you have to do it one by one. You can 'record' CATT case, if you have big quantity of them.

Statistical Internal Orders - How can i charge to multiple cost centers

In the master data for the statistical internal orders, I am only able to enter one cost center in the 'Actual Posted Cctr' field. Is there a way to have multiple cost centers and the allocation % for each cost center (similar to the settlement rules on regular internal orders)?

Hiya,
OKB9 works by assigning multiple Cost Centres to the Company Code + GL combination. However, I don't believe OKB9 is your solution - for the simple reason that you wish to post the information to multiple CCtrs, along with posting it to this Statistical IO.
In my opinion, you may have to delete the Actual Cost Centre assignment and, at the time of document posting, assign the True CCtr as well as this IO, or look for a User Exit that will trigger flows to multiple CCtrs along with this IO.
The other option is to make this a real posting to this IO (change the IO from statistical to real), and then settle this cost to multiple CCtrs. As long as it stays statistical, you don't have the liberty of settling the cost.

How to delete cost center - KS04

Hi,
we need to delete the current cost centers however we can not do it due to the fact thar records available in table COKA.
In order to get rid of this problem we have tried to change the valid through date as, for example, 01.01.2011 - 31.12.9999 and tried to delete with these values and got the message cost center can be deleted, KS04, but how to delete it?
i looked for a butto etc to delete the cc but could not find any.
All heplful answers will be appreciated.

Alternative hierarchy for cost centers

Hi all,
Due to reporting needs I have to work on two cost centers hierarchy at the same time. So I decide to use the alternative hierarchy which is a copy of the standard one. I've seen on help.sap.com that it was possible to copy the standard hierarchy, and to modify this new alternative hierarchy.
My problem is that the system doesn't let me modify the alternative hierarchy, I can't delete, replace or add any cost center.

thanks for this reply. I have already created the alternative hierarchy by KSH1, to replicate the standard hierarchy (let's call it CENTRAL), so my new hierarchy (let's call it ALTERNATIVE) is all the same in comparison to the previous one. After the copy the two contains the same cost centers groups, and inside the nodes the same cost centers. For the year 2008, I need to move cost centers in the ALTERNATIVE from one node to another one, so I could compare node by node the 2008-CO postings with 2007-CO postings.
The central point is that my cost centers perimeter is altered every year and I need to compare two cost centers hierarchies at the same time.

Here is a small clarification regarding Cost Centers when i create cost centers the request is not displaying only the at the status line cost center saved message is comming.
Where it is storing how i should transport to quality or some thing..

You can transport all CO Master Data including reports etc.
in the IMG follow the menu path:
Controlling->General Controlling->Production Start-Up Preparation->Transport System Settings->Transport Settings for Master Data
You have to specify Controlling area and Chart of accounts
Normally Master data is sort of static data (that means that it is a changing dynamically unlike GL accounts which is more stable) and unless your project methodology is to create these first in your development system first then transport.
I personally would do this once bulk of master data has been created and transport <b>once</b> only to to a client since the transport will first delete an entry and try to create again, may have issues with this.
Sometimes you will be forced to create this type of data (cost centers, profit centers, activity types etc) in the Configuration client if you need to make settings in OKB9 or 3KEH etc.

I need to delete our cost center standard heirarchy, which has been transported to the new system without its cost centers. In the heirarchy, the name of each cost center appears, but there are no cost centers created. I can't erase these cost centers, but when I try to erase a cost center group, I get a message saying that I can't delete it because it has cost centers assigned to it.
Can anyone shed some light on this?

After uploading all the cost centers,if any one of the document is assigned to that relevant cost center check all documents and confirm it.

Cost Centers Date

Dear Experts;
The FI consultant has created the cost centers with the Go Live date, and as you know the employees are hired from a previous period, so I have to create the positions with the hiring date.
So I've created the positions with starting date 01.01.1990, while the cost ceneters are from 01.07.2011, so whenever i'm trying to assign a cost center to a postion it gives me a msg stating that the cost center doesn't exist with that period.
And there is no option for the FI to change the cost centers date, he just has to delete the current ones and create new ones with another date.
Do you ahve another solution for that?

Hi Lobhna,
As a practice positions and cost center should have the same date if position date is go-live date then it would have been fine.
To avoid this issue all employees are hired in 9999999 default position and before Go-live there is an action Named as Go-live data upload where the actual positions of the person are assigned from the date of Go-live.
One is hiring action with D.O.J of employee and then another action Go-live data upload which sets a cut-off date for Masterdata that all masterdata will be valid from the Go-live date onwards.
In your case if you have already done the Hiring action with actual position, then ask FI if he can delete and re-create the cost centers from date of Go-live and if not then you can delete the assignement of the position with the person in po13, you can do this through LSMW or BDC. After deleting assignment you have to delete the positions through PO13 LSMW.
Then Re-create the positions again with the Go-live date and assign to Person.
All this through LSMW PO13.

Hi ,
You can even transport Master Data from Development Server to Quality and Production Servers. The transaction code to do it is OKE6 But you need to excersise lots of cautions to do this. The following note explains that -
Caution
If, prior to the transport, you have already created master data in the target system (whether manually or through a different transport), this data is lost when the transport takes place.
Since in the target system the master data but not the transaction data is deleted, transporting data into a system that already contains data can lead to inconsistencies. You should therefore maintain the master data in the target system manually.
Example
You have manually created cost centers in controlling area 0001 in the target system. You want to transport cost centers in controlling area 0001 from the Customizing clients into the target system.
If you execute the transport, the system deletes the manually-created cost centers in the target system.
The system then imports the new cost centers into the target system.
In a normal scenario , it is best to avoid taking this route and upload the master data instead of transporting it .

Deleting cost Center.

Hello All,
I want to delete few cost centers. these were reated before Go-live , but now the user staes that they will not be required and can be deleted. No Transactional data has been recorded against the same. the problem that i face while deleting the Cost center when i run the deletion in Test mode using transaction KS04. it says that " Deletion not possible (usage is in table T811C) "
How do i solve this problem

In cost center Master Data, KS03, with your cost center, enter the page and then through the following -
On the Title Bar - Environment - Where Used List - Fixed Assets
It would show, if assets are assigned, the number and details of the assets.
In the same way check your cost center and its environment.
I tried using a cost center which had assets and it wouldn't delete as values (Fixed Assets) were registered with it.
Moreover, the Table T811C and its details can be checked in SE11. The blue highlighted are the fields which have values in your cost center.

Is there a report that already exists where we can run open purchase
orders not received for non-inventory items that pulls the quantity,
price, GL account code, and cost center account code?

Hi,
May be the requirement will not be met in a single report.Please check the t code ME2K with selection parameter as we101 which gives you the open POs for that cost center or range of cost centers.
EKPO gives price details.
and check the table EKKN for GL account and cost center for that PO.
If you want open POs check the T code ME80FN.
