Deleting Library Items with Action Script

Is it possible to delete the library items at runtime?
I am loading b.swf in a.swf. After some time b.swf unloads and c.swf is loaded inside a.swf. Though the b.swf unloads but the library items of b.swf remain there and conflict with the library items of c.swf. c.swf has some items with the same name as in b.swf. c.swf shows the movieclips from the library of b.swf with similar name.
I think the best way would have been to load these assets externally instead of keeping them in the library if we want to destroy them at runtime. But, we have a large number of already constructed files. Ability to destroy the library items at runtime will also help maintain memory usage in limits.

If you have swf files in your library, that is not a good way to implement a design.  You should load all swf content dynamically at run time.  You cannot delete anything compiled into the file, such as library objects, as far as I know.

    The script is initiated from a Nagios quick action which will use nrpe to pass the host as parameter and make the nscp service, which runs as local system, run it. It works perfectly on servers that have no uac enabled, but I can't get it to work on servers
    with uac. I've tried numerous options, but none seem to work. Any tips or advice to get this working with Powershell v2 code on servers with uac enabled is highly appreciated.

    Hi Willem,
    one thing to note: I don't see why your script itself has a hostname parameter.
    One way around UAC has always been the Windows Task Scheduler. If you register a task as System run and triggered by an event, you can simply call the event locally (which doesn't require admin permissions) and it will perform the task.
    I don't know how your Nagios construct works and the script by itself doesn't make much sense. If you want advice on how to do this without resorting to tasks, I'd need to know more about the system you are using.

  • Can access c++ library from flash action script by using SWC lib?

    We want to develope a Flash application based on Windows CE 6.0 R3. The application aims to communicate with middleware libraries written in C/C++. Is it possible to create SWC file using the c++ library file so that we can load this as a component in fla project for accessing the library functions from flash action script 3.0? OR Is there any simple way to access c++ library from action script?

    I don't think Alchemy will help you.  The reason is Alchemy does not give socket capabilities beyond what Flash provides.

  • Flash Pro CC to CS6 fla issue - Bad library items and new library items with unicode names

    I've noticed a strange issue when opening fla files in Flash Pro CS6 that have been edited in Flash Pro CC. If there are library items in the fla with names that include symbols such as ">" or ".", unicode named symbols are created and the original symobls are unuseable. There are many symbols that cause the issue and the symbols just have to be a part of the name.
    Steps to reproduce:
    1) Create an fla file in Flash Pro CC.
    2) Add a single movieclip to the library with a symbol name of ">".
    3) Save the file.
    4) Open the file in Flash Pro CS6.
    Results:
    Library contains 2 symbols, one named ">" and one named "&#062".
    Expected:
    There's one library symbol named ">".
    After that double clicking the symbol named ">" will do nothing and instances of the symbol will have all their content removed.
    This issue is breaking a JSFL script I wrote that loops the library items. When the script attempts to access item.layerCount the script errors out. My team is blocked from using Flash Pro CC in combination with Flash Pro CS6 because of this issue. The only good solution I can think of is to all switch to CC at the same time to avoid converting our fla files to CS6 from CC.
    Any info on a fix for this issue would be appreciated.

    The dialog you get when you open the FLA in CS6 is that new features may not be available in CS6 so you should save it to a new file to avoid corruption. There's no "save down" from CC to CS6 (yet). So opening the file in CS6 isn't advisable in the first place.
    That said, library items are supported between them both so to your point, yes, I get the same exact behavior. A single symbol named ">" in CC produces 2 library items in CS6 named ">" and "&#062", and the original item is lost. Although I'm not sure where I'd classify this issue being you shouldn't be opening a newer version file from an older version of the application. I did also try XFL, same issue. If they decide to create a save-down to CS6 and this still exists, I'd consider it a bug.
    As for a fix, I think about the only thing that comes to mind is identify the characters causing issues and run a JSFL in CC to rename the library item temporarily to something you know will work fine. Then once back in CS6, run the JSFL opposite to convert them back to what you want. e.g. "this > that" to "this XYZ that" in CC, then "this XYZ that" to "this > that" in CS6. Shouldn't be too hard to map as long as the replacement is unique.

    Sure!
    (well, with some work)
    What you need is a Smart Playlist
    Create one using File>New Smart Playlist
    Then set selection options to Comment field > contains > In playlist (type it in)
    Make sure live updating is checked
    Next, add comments to multiple items (songs, audiobooks, etc)
    On PC use the control key to select multiple items
    On the Mac, use Apple (a.k.a "Command") key
    Then from the File menu choose "Get Info"
    At the prompt: Are you sure you want to edit information for multiple items? click yes
    Add a comment to the comment field (i.e, same thing you entered while setting up the Smart Playlist)
    You are done. Now click on the smart playlist, it should contain all items with " In playlist" in comments field
    Someone may have created a program that automates this, but, I think this may be helpful to you as a start

  • Dreamweaver CC Library Item with rollover link produces two body tags. Why?

    I have a library item which is used in two pages and works correctly if it does not contain a rollover arrow with a link taking you to the top of the library item. This produces the following near the top of each of the containing pages:

    The problem arises when I insert an image rollover with a link up to #top (which is defined as above).

    It can be seen (shown in red) that the Library Item has correctly transferred the onLoad instruction to the containing page's <body> tag and at the same time altered the address of the GIF image from '../images/xxx.gif' to 'images/xxx.gif'. [The root folder with the various html pages has a number of subfolders including 'images' and 'Library']. But now, unfortunately, the containing pages have two <body> tags with the second one pointing to the wrong location for the GIF image.
    Would someone please explain what is going on. I can think of three possibilities: (1) I may be doing something really stupid, (2) there may be a bug in Dreamweaver CC or (3) Library Items may not be allowed to contain anything "complicated" like a rollover. I did see a very old (2007) discussion in this forum suggesting that Library Items were rather limited in what they could contain, but over the intervening six years I would have expected things to have improved.

    Thank you, but in that case I'm not sure I understand the purpose of Library Items. Before I added the Library Item, there was nothing to preload. When I add a rollover to the Library Item, Dreamweaver creates the preloader instruction within the Library Item. Then when I include the Library Item in an html page, Dreamweaver controls where the preloader is put.
    Do I then need to manually edit what Dreamweaver has done? In this instance it would have been almost as quick to have ignored the use of a Library Item and copied and pasted the relevant code into the two pages and manually created the revised <body> tag with a preloader. In my relative inexperience with Dreamweaver, I just thought that using a Library Item in multiple pages would save me some effort when I wanted to change the content of the Library Item. As I said, the Library Item worked OK until I added a rollover within it.

  • Unable to delete line item with 0 quantity in Invoice.

    Hi Experts,
    I came across a Invoice which reflects in VF04 as pending Billing due list. When i checked at the inter company Invoice i came across a line item with "0" quantity and price as zero, interestingly the replinishment cross company delivery document  for the same line item for "0" quantity had a Batch assigned to it.
    Now the issue is cusotmer has selected the line item with XX quantity and have selected the accounting document to be generated but the line item with "0 was left over and now still reflects in VF04.
    Customer does not want to reverse the full cycle to resolve the issue since the document was created a year back.My Question  is can we get the line item with "0" quantity to clear accounting so that it will not reflect in VF04.If so what will be process to do that.

    It is  not possible to delete this line item, you can discuss with your client and delete it from the table.
    And now coming to the reasons why it has come into the invoice & Delivery
    1. The Batch Item category must have been configured as relevant for billing...check this and make it irrelevant if the client does not do batch specific billing. --- This will stop the batches from coming into the invoice.
    2.  Check for the batch item category in delivery if Zero quanity is allowed...if it is allowed make it not allowed and make it an Error message, whenever there is a zero quantity system will give a message.

    This should be done in COPY CONTROL. Please sit with your functional counterpart to identify which copy control routine is currently being used. Next, in VOFM, copy this routine to a new routine (new routine # should be between 601 to 900) and adjust your new routine per your requirements.

    hay guys, im having trouble with changing my action script to
    allow multiple layers of the same thing in order to show a greater
    sense of depth than the normal application. im using a flash
    toutorial on making a sort of matrix like falling text (

    and im not completely understanding what to change in order to
    accomplish my goal. i tryed to send them a message using their
    contact page, but its broken, forcing me to find a forum. im sure
    it has something to do with the third group of code where it
    identifies what its using. but whenever i change anything there to
    either match the identifiers or movie clip names the action script
    crashes when i test the movie. any help is appreciated.
    im using flash cs3 and made sure to create it all in action
    script 2.0

  • Problem with action script from Schewe and Frasier book.

    I am working on a Photoshop CS3 action script to
    open raw files, do a couple of modifications
    in Camera Raw, exit camera raw and save
    the file as a jpeg.
    I think this should work, because I am working
    on an example out of "Camera raw with Adobe
    Photoshop CS3" by Schewe and Frasier which
    shows the step recorded.
    See page 344 of Schewe and Frasier.
    In figure 9-11 you see, after the open
    statement, 10 lines of details like
    "As camera raw"
    "Model:Canon 350d" etc.
    I get the file path and name line, but
    none of the other details reflecting
    actions in Camera Raw.
    The problem is that in setting up the action, none
    of the steps done in camera raw after I do the
    open get recorded.
    And it works in my old CS version !
    Out of frustration I repeated the action
    script creation in my old CS version and
    it worked fine.
    Any idea where I am screwing up ?

    I sometimes have a day of family

    that I want to put up on the internet
    quickly. I would like to be able to
    apply the "Auto" feature, as in general
    it seems to be pretty good for something
    quick.

    "As camera raw" but opens the .dng file
    rather than the Camera raw window.
    The point is, these important settings
    seem to be saved, which does not happen

  • Help with action script 2.0

    I'm a beginner with flash. I created a flash file on my own.
    I also created a flash file using a slideshow program. Generally I
    like this program. I can insert them into my html with no problem.
    I want to load the slideshow.swf file into an empty movie
    clip in the flash file I created called products.swf. It works fine
    using
    loadMovie("slideshow.swf", call_mb_slideshow); (where
    call_mb_slideshow is a empty movieclip.)
    as long as the all the files are in the same folder. But, I
    need the products.swf file with the empty movieclip to be in the
    parent folder AND I need the slideshow.swf and the slideshow.xml
    file to be in a child folder call musicbox_slideshow. When I change
    the code to this:
    loadMovie("musicbox_slideshow/slideshow.swf",
    call_mb_slideshow);
    It loads the slideshow.swf file into the movieclip fine, BUT
    it doesn't know where to find the slideshow.xml file that loads the
    pictures into the slideshow. It looks for it in the parent folder,
    not the child folder.
    How do I write the script in products.swf so that it knows
    where the slideshow.xml file is? I cannot change the slideshow.swf
    file code in any way. I need to do it from products.swf.

    I can use this code from html. I'm able to say where the swf
    and xml file are. I just don't know how to do this using action
    script.

  • Transparency with action script

    I have a swf file and i want to give it a transparent background to the stage. I understand that it's possible to give it the transparency through the HTML publish setting using the 'transparent windowless' property.
    However, i wanted to know whether there's an actionscript property to give the same transparency effect to the stage. like the opactiy or something (sorry, I might be wrong)
    The thing is I have a external preloader which loads the content swf and when it gets loaded, the stage loses it's transparency.

    you're either misunderstanding what you see or not accurately explaining what you see.
    there's only one html that embeds a swf.  that embedded swf's stage color will be seen (or not depending on the html settings).  no loaded swf's background color will be seen.  all loaded swf graphics will be seen.  everything is this paragraph are facts that you cannot change using actionscript or anything else.
    if you removed the graphics from content.swf there's no way it can "still show".  the below paragraph explains the ways you could misinterpret what you're seeing:
    if you removed graphics from content.fla and FAILED to publish a new swf, graphics will still show.  and, if you're testing in a browser, and fail to clear your cache you may be seeing an old swf version that still has background and other graphics.
