DELETING PRODUCTION DATA

Hi,
Currently we have a data error issue.Hence we need to delete the entire data and reload it again.Currently we have delta loads.Can you please provide us with the best possible way to delete and reload the data.
We are thinking of deleting the data and then doing a init load t start with and then do a delta load later.Is it fine?
Also ,can you please tell us about wht we need to do in the source sytem with the SETUP and all.

Since you have data error issues.
You have to do reinit and load data from source system
To do this :
1) First of all delete your old init.
2) Pull data from outbound queues using job control if its LO.
3) Get a quiet period.
4) Fill set up tables in this quiet period.
5) Do Init.
6) Later on schedule job control
7)Pull deltas

Check if the function module RSDMD_DEL_MASTER_DATA works out for you.
Couple of import parameters:
I_IOBJNM -
Give infoobject name
I_T_CHAVL---Characteristic values
I_FLG_FORCE_DELETE-- to force delete
Use I_FLG_SIMULATION to simulate first and then delete..
Try writing a ABAP program which can pass those 300 entry values to I_T_CHAVL..
Let us know if it works or not..

Selctive Deletion of Production Data

Hi,
Is it possible to selectively delete the data from Solution Manager infocubes? (like systemwise, datewise ) we have a requirement from customer where they want the Production Solution data to be fresh from the day of Go Live. Whatever the
data(EWAs,Reporting,Alerts...etc) that is already present in the Solution Manager System for production systems needs to be erased. We do not want to delete entire solution. How do we acieve this?

Cannot delete master data because it is in use by a query

Hi, all.
I am trying to delete some master data and it is in use by a query according to SLG1. Is there a good way to delete the master data content without deleting the query?

Hi, Pavan.
The master data is not used anywhere else since I have already cleared all the cubes and DSO. The only thing the SLG1 is complaining is the query.
Actually, the reason I am doing this is because the data on the system is kind of old. After we refresh the source system with production data, we are trying to repopulate all the cubes again. I am wondering if we actually need to delete all the master data. Doesn't re-initializing the master data will do the job? If that is the case, is there any reason to delete the master data?

How to delete the data in the compressed infocube

hi, bi gurus
we are facing a problem in inventory management the info cube in BW production
normally every time inventory cube gets compressed that means the data will be moving to F fact table to E fact table
now the problem is we are having some bad data for latest five requests in this cube as we all know compressed data
can't be delete by deleting request in the request tab the only way is go for selective deletion but i don't find any selective
option in the cube we are PSA data for that five request which having correctdata please help how to delete the bad data in the
info cube and load the correct data which we are having in PSA

next we need to do compression also or not
and how to reload the data from PSA to Infocube becuse if request still avaliable in info cube it will not allow me to do that

Data deleted in data targets

Hi Gurus,
By mistake I have deleted the data in production from some data targets
all the data is still available in PSA (for 9 months).
This happened in two data targets from two data sources.
No. of records are not even 1 million.
Total no. of request for each PAS is 279.
Is there a way I can load the data in parallel or something.
which can complete the task faster. Right now I am selecting each request
and loading one by one.

If you are in 3.5 goto reconsturction and select all requet you need to load and go for reconstruction which will reconstruct all request one after the another. No manual intervention necessary.
incase of 7.0 do a init without datatransfer from PSA and give a full update request for 3 months and load all the data which will help you in completing the data load faster.

Deleting Cube data takes up all DIA processes

Good day
We are in Bi 7.0 and I have a problem that I cannot find an answer for.
I have created a process chain where I delete cube data with event "Complete deletion of Data Target Contents" among loading data again etc.. When this process chain starts and get to the deletion part it will use up all the DIA processes in production (SM50) and bring it to its knees for more than an hour. If I do the same thing in DEV and QA, with the same amount of records (1 200 000), then it deletes within a few seconds. I deleted the contents manually in prod as well and the same thing is happening.
What can I do to rectify this or where can I check why this is happening?

Have you ever used the transaction RSBATCH? It controls how many processes are allocated to particular BW batch functions (e.g. DTP loads, Data deletes, etc.). In RSBATCH, go into the Mass Maintenance of All Settings for Parallel Processing. You should be able to find the delete that you're having an issue with by selecting the appropriate process type and the correct process variant. Compare the settings in Prod to your more manageable settings that exist in Dev and QA. This would most likely be the place I'd start looking.

SRM 5.0 Delete product from COMM_PRODUCT

Hi,
I want to delete a product from SRM that is replicated from ECC, when I run COM_PRODUCT_DELETE_SINGLE I am getting error message ' DELETION WITHOUT ARCHIVING IS NOT ALLOWED IN PRODUCTIVE ENVIRONMENT'. Can't I delete product without archiving? Can some help me out on how to archive a product in SRM (infact, I will be archiving abt 50k).

Archiving is a cross application process, hence the procedures remain the same except for the Object and Tables being archived across all areas.

Problems with archiving and deleting products created in CRM

In the process of deleting products it is my understanding that one should first arhive the product.
Reading the SAP help guidelines I was able to determine that there are various steps for accomplishing this, the first of which being Preprocessing.
While carrying out this step an error was found that the product attempted to be archived could not be processed due to the fact that it was still used as a component to an installed base.
However this is not the problem, once the correction was made I attempted again to carry out the preprocessing but I keep getting the message that the product "will not be checked again in archiving until 30.10.2006".
It seems that somehow the system limits the attempts archive products in a limited period of time.
My question here is:
Is there anything I can do to change this? How can I attempt to succesfully preprocess the product without having to wait for date specified by the message?

I was able to delete the product by reading the suggestions on another topic posted. I adhering the solution at the bottom of this post.
However I was still not able to solve the initial problem concerning how to archive the product.

You are right by your approach to update from PSA to ODS as u have wrritten before. Just got to PSA tree select the PSA request and choose update Immediatly or scedule for update.
(and if u have 0FI_GL_4 but u r not using it ..it is fine. I was telling that in case u have that and you are trying to use somethin with 0FI_AP_4)

How to delete hierarchical data?

I have a table with hierarchical data. I want to delete data based on a condition, but maybe this condition is only present in the topmost hierarchy.
In my example I have rows identified by id and a changed_by containing the id of the row that replaced (invalidated) this row. From these I want to delete data where descr in the leaf nodes is 'A'.

MD16 is the only option to delete planned orders in mass.
During MRP run if you choose - Delete and recreate plan order mode. Automatically the unwanted plan orders
2) Delete Purchase Requisation,
Execute MD04, in that it will display the created PR's
Check in tcode MD62 whether you have any demand for that material which you are getting PRs first delete requirement here/
Then run MRP by tcode MD03 or MD02 giving input of material and plant. In the initial screen of MD03 / MD02, make field planning mode - Delete and recreate planning data
Is that Old PR Firmed.
If yes remove the Firm indicator and Re run the MRP with planning Mode 3.
It removes the PR from EBAN.
Now check in MD04
OR,
Use Mass change transaction code MEMASSRQ or use BAPI (BAPI_REQUISITION_DELETE) to do the same.
Or
Use ME57 with layout ALV, in this also u can delete PR
If you want delete PR manually then
goto ME52N --> enter PR number --> select line item --> click delete button
or
goto ME52N --> enter PR number --> Item --> Tab Quanties/Dates --> set tick mark for closed check box

Attribute change run fails - "Error when deleting the data record /B05/X.."

Hello,
I get the error message "Error when deleting the data record /B05/X.." on doing the change run.
I have already done RSRV on this objects and found no errors, but still the activation fails.
please give your suggestions ASAP to fix the issue as it is on production system.

Attribute change run could fails due to 2 reasons-
(1) attribute xchange run is already runnnig for any toher object(monitor lock) (check by thi prog-RSDDS_CHANGERUN_MONITOR)
(2) data is loading deleting from the object on which attribut changerun is running.(go in a manage tab and check)
check this two conditions and rerun the attribute changrun again from program - RSDDS_AGGREGATES_MAINTAIN and give the master data name in the selection.
