Deliver to an email whose address is not listed as accepted domain

Hi Exchange experts!
I have a question regarding transport servers behaviour for smtp addresses that are not listed in accepted domains.
I have a mailbox with a secondary smtp address :
[email protected] , and aaaa.com is not listed as accepted.
Assuming that mx record for aaaa.com is configured correctly with my server IP. I tried sending an email to that address and it is delivred. This made me confused about my little knowledge. I thought exchange would reject such connection.
Can any one help me to understand this behaviour? (antispam agents are disabled and forefront protection for exchange is installed on hub server.)

I mean your organization public domain name (external domain name).
Based on my known, I understand that if we use e-mail address policy to assign e-mail address to users, such as aaaa.com, the aaaa.com must be included in accepted domain.
If we customize an e-mail address for a user mailbox ([email protected]), we can add aaaa.com as accepted domain, or needn't add it.
Only if there is a DNS MX record on public DNS server, we can send message to the user with
[email protected]
If I have any misunderstanding, please free let me know.

    Firefox doesn't do email, it's a web browser.
    If you are using Firefox to access your mail, you are using "web-mail". You need to seek support from your service provider or a forum for that service.

  • My Address Is Not Listed In Maps

    Hi all.
    Apparently my address doesn't exist. When Maps locates me, you can see my house and street no problem, but type in the address and it doesn't exist. I've reported it via Maps 3 times since launch day but they've still not updated their database. I could understand if my house was only recently built, but it's well over 40 years old! I can't do that involves my home address, I have to set 'home' to a property near mine, which then means I can't send my details to anyone as they're incorrect. It's been more than long enough for the database to have been updated, *** is going on?!
    I'm now at the point of returning my 5 under UK consumer law as not as described/faulty.

  • Routing Email to Un-Accepted Domain Internally

    Hi All,
    This is a bit peculiar. But it’s been bugging me for some time now. Its nothing like I need to implement or need this, but just a concern to understand mail routing.
    I was able to route email to
    [email protected]
    back in Exchange 2003 to a mailbox hosted inside mydomain.com. I didn’t add the email domain to accepted domain as we say now.
    As per the reading and available information from MS for Exchange 2013, it is possible to route emails only if we add the email domain to the accepted domains list.
    Even the email policy will not let you save information if the domain is first not added in accepted domain.
    If you delete an accepted domain that's used in an email address policy, the policy is no longer valid, and recipients with email addresses in that SMTP domain will be unable to send or receive email.
    However adding
    [email protected]
    allowed as an additional SMTP address to MAILBOX ENABLED local user (I’m not talking about external contact or Mail Enabled user here)
    We typing
    [email protected]
    new email GAL resolves it and lets me send email to the local user. (Even if I hide the user I believe it will work)
    I’m trying to understand what is happening here and why it is accepting the email addressed to gmail.com(delivering it to local mailbox) instead of routing it out to internet.
    Any reference to this in MS article.
    Doing this in a accepted domain scenario makes sense, by how it works without the domain in accepted domain list works. How does categorizer works.
    My Findings:
    *The categorizer resolves the message sender by searching for the address in the ‘proxyAddresses’ attribute in Active Directory.
    *The categorizer also resolves the message recipients by searching for the addresses in the ‘proxyAddresses’ attribute in Active Directory.
    *The categorizer also checks to verify that the mail attribute exists in Active Directory, and stamps the mail attribute as the SMTP address.
    *For local delivery, the categorizer marks the recipient as local by setting a per-recipient property on a message indicating the destination server for each recipient.
    So,
    Q:If we don’t have domain mentioned in accepted domain, is exchange going to accept email for it at all?
    A: NO (Microsoft says)
    What I think what MS means is Accepted Domain basically refers to emails coming from outside the exchange, which will not be accepted.
    That would refer to the ‘SMTP Receive’ process of submission (
    From SMTP Receive through a Receive connector).  But internal would be process of submission (Through a transport agent and would bypass the Accepted Domain check.)
    Let me know your views and test results if you happen to test it.

    This however gives arise to another doubt.
    How is NDR generated for non-existent internal email. Let me know if my understanding is correct.

    1.Email is searched in AD for matching  EmailAddresses attribute. (Non found)
    2.Next It goes to Accepted Domain list and checks if its authoritative for this domain (Yes, Generates NDR, NO goes next)
    3. Next Its routed to the Send Conenctors for possible match and sent; else If nothing matched it sent via the * Send Connector

  • Send Email not delivering emails to addresses other than yahoo

    Hello,
    I have an application that works well, built with ADDT with custom coupon payment gateway, verification and license download and the final step - sending email to customer after every successful transaction.
    I have noticed that emails are not delivered to my business email account but whenever I change the email address to a yahoo email address and attempt a transaction the email gets delivered immediately.
    The email address is pulled from a recordset from the current logged in user's personal information table.
    Any idea why this is so? Is there a problem in ADDT as I would have believed that public email addresses like yahoo or gmail should be more difficult to deliver emails to as against fully functional non public email addresses.
    I tried changing my password on this forum (Adobe forum) this morning and I got the forgotten password email sent to the same email address that may application has refused to deliver emails to so there is nothing wrong with the email address itself.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks for your response.
    I have contacted the support team managing my dedicated server and they claimed they got an email (sent to their email address) while testing the application (www.ijann.com/onspeed/tell_a_friend.php).
    I tried to send email to another email address (other than yahoo) on my dedicated server and it was delivered immediately.
    So, it means emails are not only getting delivered to yahoo email accounts.
    But my business email address (not on my dedicated server) never gets any email from the application.
    I have just sent an email to the support team managing the shared server where the business email is residing.
    I will post an update when this is resolved. As you implied, it may be with the setting on that email account which is showing "More Aggressive Action" towards emails tagged as SPAM. Maybe the next step is to see the criteria for tagging emails SPAM.

    I send out newsletters to many different people, and have just found out that all those with 'xtra' email addresses are not receiving their newsletters, although everyone else in the group is.

    They aren't getting the newsletter at all, as in also not on their primary address?
    Or are they getting the newsletter on the primary address, but not on the extra address?

My buddy list doesn't see  the other computer even though we are connected on Facetime right now. My name is not highlighted for the other computer. What could have gone so wrong?

    - How did you dlete stuff from the iPod? If you have a 1G or 2G iPod and deleted the stuff by going to Settings>Genera.>Reset>Erase aall contents and settings without being connected to a power source, the battery dies before he erase was comleted since it can take hour.
    - In any event try the following:
    - Connect to a chaging sour for three hours.
    - Reset the iPod and then connect to the computer and try to restore va iTunes.
    Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

    I don't know how rare this is.  I went a week or so without a problem, and now it's starting to recur.  Also, in some instances, an email will look unsent (remain in the outbox on the Treo), but it has been sent, and recipients are replying while I'm trying to figure out what is going on.  Further, it will send the same email over and over during this madness.
    This is a show stopper.  If there isn't a software fix soon, I may chuck this phone in the garbage.
    Post relates to: Treo 800w (Sprint)
    UPDATE:  The problem comes and goes.  The next day, no changes to the treo, everything workeds.  Now i'm suspecting the sprint server, and how it/the phone responds from failing to send while roaming.  I've since turned off roaming, and haven't had a problem for several days.

    Yes,  I am having the same problem.  When I called apple they said that things were "tied up somehow" with another account that has a do different birthday than me.  Uuuuuhh?  So that means someone else can log in?... I have a feeling there is a big vulnerability with the three login options, just like with the current and past password retrieval. Apple had only suggested that I delete my current set up on my serviced and make a new ID and email.
    I Just got a new email and made a new Apple ID account For now. I was hoping the email would work itself out. I assumed If I could make sure everything was verified, not associated with another account, and try to get rid of the alternate id and second email option also used to sign in (seen in Apple ID management)  that could possibly be construed or mixed up with something else that it would eventually free up and become "available" again.  Unfortunately im still waiting In hopes in just needs to recognize the email isn't associated with anything.
    I have had a few major concerns with apple products lately especially with security. My iPhone 4s was hacked too. Some ******* was listening/recording and when I hooked to Internet he sent out the recorded portion that was available.  Talk about ****** up.

    When I go to appleid.apple.com and I login with my work address, I do not see my gmail address listed. Naturally I logged out and clicked "Find Out" under "not sure if you have an Apple ID?" I put in my name and personal gmail address. It responds "

    Which sounds like my gmail address is not tied to any accounts. THIS DOES NOT MAKE SENSE.
