Delivery notification for messages i did not send

I have been receiving delivery notification from the [email protected] about email messages that I never sent from my mac.com account.  They are either delayed or failed.
I understand that a spoof/spam is sending these messages with my email address as the from.
I am receiving 8-12 messages a day now and it has been going on for three weeks now.
I did read some similar questions but there seemed to be no answers on how to stop it other than install a junk mail application to filter all the messages we receive from the post master.  This doesn't stop the the messages from being sent.
I don't want to have to change my email address which many people and systems have.
Is there a solution?
thank you
Julie

There isn't really anything you can do about it. As you have observed, your address is being forged on messages sent by someone else, so it's not a case of messages being sent from your account. I'm afraid there is nothing whatever you can do to stop this, which is infuriating but is unfortunately the case. However it usually stops after a bit as they move on to another victim.

I'd look at the headers (View -> Message -> Long Headers) to see if there's anything in common, then try to create a rule based on that.

  • Error message eprint did not send job model d110 a

i have set up and registered all the eprint as instructed and everytime i attempt to print i get the error message that eprint did not send job help me

    Hey lparker9310,
You may want to check to make sure you are sending from an approved email in the allowed senders list.
Be sure you are sending to the correct email address ending in @hpeprint.com.
Check the options below and make sure the email fits the correct criteria.
If it does, try disabling and re-enabling Web Services again.
You have successfully registered your product, but when you try to send a print job from your mobile device the print job does not print.
    NOTE:
    ePrint does not allow auto-forward.
The following issues will stop a print job from printing:
You entered the printer’s email address incorrectly.
The email was sent to multiple printers or recipients. (HP’s ePrint service only processes emails sent to a single recipient. This protects users from unintended printing.)
There were more than 10 file attachments.
The total size of the attachments exceeded the 5 MB limit.
One or more of the attachments contains a virus or a macro. (Scan the attachments for viruses and remove any macros.)
The attachments were in a format unsupported by ePrint.
Low-quality photos were included in the print job.
    The printer is not online.
You do not have permission to use the printer.
    NOTE:
Check for product updates by going to the ePrint settings on your printer's control panel.
ePrint will cancel a print job under the following circumstances:
The printer is currently busy printing other jobs.
The printer is turned off or not connected to the Internet.
    NOTE:
The printer must be on a wireless network with Internet connection. Connection to the computer is not necessary.
The printer experienced an error and requires attention.
A user at the printer, or the printer owner cancelled the print job.
The printer's ePrint feature was turned off. Turn the printer’s ePrint feature on and resend the print job.
    There was no printable document.
The print job included photos that were too low in quality to print with good results. (resolution needs to at least 100 pixels in length or width to ensure printing from ePrint (100 dpi).
The print job could not be printed at this time due to an issue with the ePrint service. Please try again later.
    NOTE:
Jobs stay on the server for 24 hours if there is a local printer issue. The server checks printer status regularly. (For example: If the printer’s cover is open, the print job prints when the cover is closed.)
Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP.
If I have resolved your issue, feel free to provide Kudos and make sure you mark this thread as solution provided.

  • Getting mail delivery status notification (failure) for emails I did not send.

I've started getting these notices for emails I didn't send. They contain attachments consisting of snippets of prose, like the attachments used to seed malware in Windows computers. Does apple have any protection/removal software for this sort of problem?

Reset, hold both home and power buttons until the iPhone begins to start, usually takes about 10 seconds. If still nothing, connect to Wall Charger and Reset, this can sometimes take about 20 seconds of hold both buttons while on charger.

  • How to block or stop hundreds of mail delivery notices that I did not send

how to block hundreds of incoming email delivery notices that I did not send out

It sounds as though someone hacked into your email account and/or the account of one of your friends and stole email addresses to use as sender and recipient for spam messages.
Since the damage is already done so to speak, there isn't a whole lot to do but: do change your email address and send out an email to your friends that the other emails are not from you and not to open or click on anything contained in them.
Unfortunately, this is happening more and more.

  • SPNego - J2ee did not send request for authentication

    Hi All,
I have configured SPNego and completed all setup as per  documentation. When I use the browser  to access the portal, it is prompting for user id and password. If we manually enter the  id and password on AD, it works fine. Somehow not able connect to j2ee without prompting for id and password.
To troubleshoot this, traced the http traffic using winshark and found that j2ee engine did not send any request for kerberos authentication.
Is there way to check on the server side to make sure spnego is configured properly  and server is able to send kerberos authentication ?
    Appreciate your help !
    Thanks!

Login to your Visual Admin, then go to -->Security Provider -->com.sun.security.jgss.accept -->Krb5LoginModule
Add a Parameter isInitiator and Value false. Save it and take a bounce of J2EE.
This should solve your login page problem Otherwise paste the default trace.

  • Phone Sent Text Message That I Did Not Send

My friend received a text message from me that I did not send.  She showed me her phone, that it came from my phone.
I showed, my text messages and that I did not.
When she responded to it, the message did come back to me.
What my phone hacked?  Was her phone hacked?  What could have caused this?

While I have people tell me that all the time, I also see some of these same people leave their phones on the counter in the next room. This is not in their "possession the entire time" even though they claim it to be. You would be the first person I have EVER seen with their phone in their "possession the entire time". It is simply not the case in most situations.
    Regardless...
You may want to check out THIS app available on iPhones and THIS app available on android devices. It may shed some light on the subject. There are many other available ways to spoof text messages.

  • While I was talking via land line to land line with a friend they recieved text message from my iphone that I did not send. How is that possible?

I repeat.  While I was talking via land line to land line with a friend they began recieving text messages from my Iphone that I did not send.  I am in the middle east and I was calling a land line in Mexico but that should not have mattered.  Moreover, the person I was speaking to told me they had gotten other text messages from me that know I never sent.   I called my phone company (AT&T) and was told the problem was not with the system but with my Iphone.  They suggested someone was using app that mimicked my phone number.   Is such a think possible?

In addition to my iphone I have an itouch.  I only just today created an appleID so that I could use this message board so it seems unlikely that the problem is the result of a misused ID

  • Text messages appearing to be from my number which I did not send

I have recently had an issue whereby I sent a text message to someone in my phone book but when this was received it looked as if it had been sent by a third, totally unknown number.
I also experienced the opposite, whereby someone received a text appearing to be from my number which I categorically did not send.
No-one had access to my phone on either of these occasions (or any other iPhones/iPads I've previously or now own) and it is not a prank of any kind - messages are literally being sent appearing as if they are from a different number than the one that sent it.
How is this even possible and do I have any privacy whatsoever when sending messages or could these literally be sent to anyone with an iPhone (as I have experienced in both directions)?

My Apple ID is on my iPad but the message I allegedly 'sent' was received by the other person as an SMS.
Even if this is the case, I just cannot fathom that this can even be possible. It got to the extent that I was receiving abusive calls from women accusing me of texting their boyfriends when I hadn't! It makes me question how many times this may have happened but gone unnoticed because the recipient had just decided to ignore the message from an unknown number.
How can I trust that my messages won't be being sent willy nilly to random people across the world?!

  • Some received an e-mail i did not send! have i been hacked? what do i do?

Someone just asked if I sent an e-mail to her...and a lot of other people that are in my address list were sent it as well. I DID NOT send it! What do I do? Have I been hacked? Help please.
    Thank you!

Was it some kind of spam?
One possibility is that someone has access to your account. The best thing to do about that is immediately change your password.
Another possibility is that there is malware on your computer manipulating it. This article lists a variety of tools you can use to supplement your regular security software in checking for and removing malware: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware]].
Another possibility is that at some point, someone got a copy of your address book, but they are sending the messages from a different account. Unfortunately, it is easy for spammers to "forge" your name and email address as the sender of a message.
Or maybe it's a coincidence and spammers are randomly mixing and matching from and to addresses to see if they can slip past the filters?
I think without more information from the recipient(s), it is difficult to know which of these is the case. For example, the recipients could compare the message headers for a real message and a spam message and compare the servers the messages passed through. Spam sent by automated means from elsewhere on the internet usually travels through a different set of servers between the sender and recipient. That's what I would expect to find. If they are identical, then I would be more concerned about malware or an intruder on your account.

  • Charged for items I did not ask for and refuse to refund

I signed up for a bundle back in Sept of 08,  which during that time I called a few times because I was charged for channels I did not want or sign up for, they did refund those or at least parts. However now I notice that I am being charged for 6.99 home wire maintence, I did not ask for this, so I called and they said we can't refund that, I asked how long it had been and they said since sept of 08 when I signed up...however vz signed me up for paperless statements, I did not ask for that and when I look at my bill online I cannot see the wire charge unless I go to download paper bill, i thought they were the same thing as what I was seeing online, so I never loked at them- they refuse to give me my money back - they said they sent a welcome letter when I signed up witht his on it, I did not see anything about this. Anyone else have a similar problem? My friends have all had over charges with their bundles. But I do realize this goes way back, but these charges where soemthing I had to basically hunt for, they were not on my online bill that I normally see. Their supervisers refuse to help, any suggestions how to get my money back? They should not be allowed to do this to people?

Hi aa16346....hmmm? allow me to contact billing for you in order to come to a resolution. In a private message please send me your billing account number so I can look into this for you. Sorry for this frustration. Allow me to help, thanks.

  • Friends Receiving Texts from Me I Did NOT Send

Apparently over the past week my friends have been getting a strange poem texted from my number that I did not send them, the text does not appear on my iPhone 4S either, the text says:
"because i've taken upon the challenge
to write a book this month
chup and i have resorted to the one
thing we avoid like a mortal enemy:
    a schedule.
each hour is designated as a workspace
each day has an ample to do list
    we're dedicated to accomplishing
    the work.
    with my time allotted out
and not much for wiggle room
i am surprised to find how much more
i get done in a day.
    yesterday i wrote,
    i cooked
    i worked
    i cleaned
    i fed the baby
    (interspersing)
    i napped
i read books to the children
    and just before sunset
    we hiked the dusty
    shoreline trail.
    it makes me wonder
if having a schedule gives me
    so much more time,
    will my second mortal enemy
    (a budget)
    give me
    more
    money?
thanks Page and dog Dixie for the beautiful evening on the trail.
this month I've decided to write a book while simultaneously breastfeeding my baby and battling the postpartum blues. should be a blast. will i get it done?
    stay tuned . . "
Pretty strange....thanks in advance for any help.

We will need more information to be able to assist you.
These message yoy are receiving are probably just a particular type of spam.  However it is also possible (unlikely) that your email account is being used to send spam, and that these are the bounce messages.
To tell the difference, you need to look at the email headers.  Open the message, then go to the View menu and select Message -> All Headers.
Select the text and post it back here (remembering to obscure your own email address first).
    Cheers,
    Rodney

    Hi,
    Thanks for the response!
The Autoclose_FYI parameter is set to Y already.
Which parameter decides the end date for this type of notifications ? As we see end date is sometimes only 1 min and for others it is 20-30 days.
Earlier the supplier was receiving only FYI notifications like KPN - Standard Purchase Order 3039086, 0+. Now, he is receiving Closed notifications like Closed*: KPN - Standard Purchase Order 3039086, 0_. How come the supplier is suddenly receiving FYI notifications with prefix CLOSED ?
