the bios run on the the delta ilsr is made by Phoenix Tech LTD.
in the msi bios upgrade web page there are listed two bios procedures:
AWARD and AMI
there is not listing for Phoenix.

isn't live update an automated process?
if i choose DOS as you suggest isn't going to be made in one step? or i will need to boot from a floppy which will be genarated automatically by the Live Update?
thanks
PS My apologies for the lengthy questions but I don't dare to flash a BIOS yet. I never done it before.

  • MSI K7N2 Delta ILSR Bios v.7.6 ??When??

    Hello,
I just asked myself when MSI is going to publish a new Bios Update above the 7.6 for the K7N2 Delta ILSR mainboard !!! I think it's time for a new Bios update, because of the few problems with this mainboard !!!!

He has confirmed the ports are present on the board....
I have seen this in earlier Nf2 Pre Delta boards where it was there but if you had disabled it, and then flashed the BIOS, it would dissapear. The only way to get it back was to flash to an earlier version, make sure it is enabled, then you can flash to the latest.
That is why I always clear the CMOS when starting a new build. You may have a board that may have been fiddled with, believe it or not, it does happen from time to time.
Have you tried the Default BIOS Settings Option in the BIOS? Perhaps you loaded the Performance option and that is why it is hiding?
    this worked, thx a lot

  • [nForce] MSI K7N2 Delta ILSR; bios, neither windows recognize IEEE1394

    Hello,
Since 2 years I have used a msi motherboard. Now since I dont have IEEE1394 of an external card anymore (Audigiy), i tried to connect my digital camera with the IEEE1394 to the motherboard. Rebooted my pc, windows doesnt recognize new hardware. i'm going to look in the bios, and see that my bios (bios 7.8) is different from the one explained in the manual (see pic). I tried to downgrade my bios to 7.2, to know if it is the 7.8 version that has the problem. but it was the same, no option for IEEE1394.
    Normally have you this:
But I dont see this option for the IEEE1394 in my bios....
Thx in advance for helping me

  • K7n2 delti Ilsr Bios update question

Well bios updates fix these ram issues? I have Kingston hyperx 3500, was on the ok list for ram, dont thank it is now.  ;(
MICRO-STAR k7n2Delti ILSR latest bios and drivers
    AMD 2800+barton
    Fx5900 Gainward videocard
    2 512 sticks of Kingston hyperX 3500 Inslot 2&3 at 2222
    antec pp400watt Ps

Yes, I did mean the CPU.  Corrected it now .......
Thanks, I've done that and it's now showing 1800.  Much easier than updating the BIOS.
My temperatures have gone up a bit, though.  CPU is now 47C (was 44C) and system is 37C (was 35C) in PCAlert4, and I'm only on the net and playing mp3s, so it's not exactly hard load!!.  Is this OK?  I really worry about overheating since my old mobo was unstable at lower system temps than this.

  • MSI K7N2 Delta ILSR - RAID BIOS Option ???

    hi ho,
i have my 2 storage devices pluged into the promise 376 onboard controller. they are not connected as a real raid (not mirror nor real stripe). my OS is win2k on the first sata device and everything was fine for a long time.
but now when my system boots, it detects the ide drives and then i see the irq board.
right after that the system stops and tells me 'disk boot failure'. so i don`t get the chance to configure my raidcontroller or my sata devices.
it is as the controller is deactivated. i remember a bios version where you could activate and deactivate the sata controller. but in my bios (right now it is v7.8) there is no such option.
    i have tested so far:
    - reset cmos
    - flash bios v7.5 to 7.8
    - disconnected sata drives
anyone with similar problems or any suggestion?

watch the bottom of the screen after pressing Enter on the "Welcome to Setup" screen. There will be some moments of files being loaded, and then you should see a message appear which says "Press F6 if you need to install a 3rd party SCSI or RAID driver". This message will only stay on the screen for a couple of seconds, so press F6 as soon as you see it appear. After this is done, you will see other messages appear, and it will act as though nothing is happening, but eventually a screen will appear which will allow you to install the drivers for the sata controller.
specify a device press S, select "win 2000 promise fasttrak 376 controller" it will read floppy and load, dot not remove floppy yet, continue win2000 install it may nead to access floppy to finish installing raid driver, did you do it like this.
try making some floppy boot disks and boot to floppy instead of cd.

when you say there not listed, where did you see this? they wont be listed, windows will search for fasttrak controller so it will see sata's conected to it with out you knowing, so long as you load the controller from floppy that came with mobo as above.

  • K7N2 Delta-ILSR BSOD

    Hi
    MSI Nforce K7N2 Delta-ILSR
    Bios V1016
    Antec True380SPGB True Power 380w
    AMD Athlon XP2800+
    2x512mb Crucial DDR
    1xSATA HDD
    Abit Siluro GF4 Ti4200
I've installed 1 SATA onto the onboard Raid controller, but I keep getting BSOD when either playing a game or watching avi's.  The 0x00000000 message is disappearing too quickly to right down but is saying windows was shut down to prevent damage to the hardware.
Will the K7N2 Delta-ILSR Promise controller work with just one SATA hdd connected, I know that the silicon image controller on my Asus A7N8X-E will support just one SATA connected but will the promise chipset.
I've updated all the drivers but the dreaded BSOD keeps happening.
If it won't it not's a major problem as I do have a PCI sata controller card I can install.
Or are there any issues with the above graphics card and the MSI mobo?
    Thanks for any help.

Yep I've created a array with the single SATA and got Windows installed.
I've also changed the memory settings so they are now 1:1 with the FSB.
I've also altered the advance settings so I'll be able to write down the full 0X00000000 string.
Just set net access up via my PC and got this error report from M$
    Error Message: STOP 0x000000EA THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER (Q293078)

I don't do O\C so nothing to worry about there. My old board is an Epox and is max'd out with no future upgrade room, so that's why i'd like to upgrade.
    Thanks for any help guys.

    rider45,
If you do not need the Break Out Box from the Platinum, I would go with the onboard nVidia SoundStorm. It sounds better than the old Live! and uses less CPU Cycles.

  • HELP me with my K7N2 delta ilsr

Can anyone help me with this problem. I have just upgraded to MSI's K7N2 delta ilsr motherboard. Its all working quite well apart from the fact that the pc wont start up from cold....at all.
When I start the pc from an off state, it runs up the fans and drives, but does not post.
The diagnostic led pannel on the back of the pc shows that the cpu is faulty or not installed correctly.
If I then press the reset button, the pc posts, and boots up just fine.
It does this EVERY time I start up.
I have tried re installing the cpu, which is an XP 2800+ 333 barton, but to no avail.
I have asked a few questions on other forums, but I cant solve it.
These are the suggestions so far.
    1. the psu (I have a Tsunami 400 atx psu) could not be giving out enough power on initial startup, but once the pc is running, it has enough to boot the pc from a reset.
    2. The mobo or the bios could be at fault. I have not flashed the bios, or upgraded it in any way from original, so is there an issue with the original bios on these boards, and 2800 barton chips??? Could it be a mobo fault? The pc runs fine once the machine is booted.? how do I test it?
    3. The cpu could be faulty? but would this not stop it running fuull stop?
    4. my ram. I have a single stick of OCZ 512mb pc3200 ddr, which I was told would make the pc fly. Not shure on that statement, but is this ram compatible?? could this be the problem?
Im fairly new to the upgrade side of things, and I need some help with this one.
Also, Id be really greatfull if some one could talk me through flashing my bios to the latest version, as the thought of doing this narks me a bit...I dont want to mess it up and get a dead pc...

  • MSI K7N2 Delta-ILSR Dead? Help!

    Hey all,
Well, the other day I was on my computer playing a game when my mobo fan started making an odd noise (as if switching rpm), so I took off the side of my case and took a look inside. Everything seemed to be functioning properly, then I switched my cpu fan speed via the pci slot speed control. As I switched from High-Medium-Low, I noticed that the fan actually slowed to the point where I could see the blades spinning, at least for a second or so. I found that rather odd, seeing as how I've never seen a fan (especially a cpu fan) slow to the point that I could see the blades spin. Anyway, a couple of hours later, I shut down and went to sleep.
The next day I had my comp on for about maybe 30mins to an hour or so when suddenly I heard an alarm from the computer speaker, so I was like, ":censored:?" since I had never heard it before. It was evidently the temperature warning, which I had set to 70C. So I shut down within 15 seconds and opened up the side of my case.
I noticed that the cpu fan wasn't moving at all (usually I'd open the case in time to see the spin-down). So I turned the computer back on and the fan didn't budge, so I immediately powered down, assuming that the CPU Fan had died. Later on, I hooked the fan itself up to a free power cord in my sister's computer and booted up, along with the speed controller, flipping from medium to high to low without any problems.
I then did screwed the fan back to the heatsink in my comp and booted up. I went into the bios an noticed that the rpm was 8k, which is way too high for my fan (normally 5k). So i began switching from high, medium, to low once again, then I saw that the rpm reader in the bios went to 0. So I looked back in the side of my case and saw that the cpu fan was once again dead. At this point I concluded that it was the fan and was about to order the Volcano 12.
A day later I placed the fan inside my sister's computer on a free cord, yet again, and yet again, it worked fine.
I once again put it in my computer to test and this time it worked fine, even while switching between speeds. Unfortunately, I then noticed that the mobo fan was not moving, then began to move.
Well, I'm guessing now that it's simply the motherboard that has a short, since both the motherboard fan as well as the cpu fan have randomly been dying the past few days. The motherboard fan; however, has switched rpm many times in the past from 5k to 3k.
It could also be a PSU problem, but I have Antec 400watt psu and it's been working fine for the past 2 years, so I doubt it. I've had the motherboard for a little over a year. I upgraded my cpu from 2200+ to 3000+ in July. That's also when I bought the cpu fan. The motherboard fan began fluctuating in rpm noticeably back in April or May of this year.
Yesterday, I used the computer again and had it on for about 2 hours or so and I had speedfan monitoring the temps and the rpm. The temps stayed relatively stable: 48 cpu, 44 mobo.
But alas, the RPMs were totally [blame me for the swear filter] up. At one point, both the mobo and cpu fan speeds were reading 0, even though both continued to spin within the case and the temps remained the same. Then after 30mins or so, they cpu fan began reading again at 40,000-42,000rpm, which is obviously incorrect, seeing as the fan is rated for around 5k. I got/get the same readings in the bios, both fans reading at 0rpm as they continue to physically spin.
Also, during a number of times that I've started up the comp within the past few days, the motherboard northbridge fan wasn't spinning at all and didn't begin to until a few minutes into my windows session.
Also, I took out the NB fan and noticed a slight crack in the back of it.
I was considering simply just buying the Volcano 12 and the MSI K7N2 Delta2 Platinum rather than RMAing the mobo. Then perhaps an Antec 550W psu, if necessary.
Any ideas what I should replace and in which order? And has anybody else encountered any similar problems with this mobo (at least with the mobo rpm, which has been a prob for about 6months on and off)?
I bought the mobo along with a 2200+ in July of 2003. I upgraded the ram from 256 to 512 in April 2004 (which is around the time I started hearing rpm probs with the mobo fan) and I upgraded the cpu in July of 2004
    Many Thanks!

Could be a fluctuating PSU that's breaking down power to the MB. You have a whole lot of components dragging that PSU down. With what you have in your rig I would run either an Antec or Enermax 550W. Best way to be sure is to borrow a PSU or buy one from a store with a good return policy so that you can return it if indeed it turns out to be the MB. If I don't have your board here on my bench to test the only thing I can suggest to you is to swap out components unfortunately.

  • NEED HELP - K7N2 Delta ILSR

I really need help. I recently bought my new moboard the K7N2 Delta ILSR and with it a GeForce FX 5600 256DDR, 512 DDD Ram PC3200, an 80Gb Seagate SATA HD, andi have a 2800+ AMD Athlon Xp Barton Core Cpu. The problem i get is that when i try to install Windows XP it says it cant find any hard drives. I saw the other thread that was like this but that one had about RAID so i thought i would ask again. I even tried it with Windows 98 which finds my hard drive and even installed once but after that i tried to upgrade to Windows Xp which didnt work, overwrited some of my Windows 98 files and so that didnt work either and when i try to install it again it gives me errors. PLS help im desperate to get my lan workin with my other PC. I havent changed any options in the bios and i dont know if i have to change anything to make sata work. I dont have a floppy disk either for the hd. I found it in the array thigy as well.

Windows will not find a SATA drive you have to tell it you have one bios will only find IDE drives.
you must hit ctrl F when the screen comes up during boot and creat an array just follow the on screen promps.
If you bought a OEM board and don't have the SATA Promise disk download it from MSI and a Manual too.
    Either a Raid 0 or Raid 1.
It looks like you have only one drive so just tell it that and the array will work.
Than go to your Bois and set Bois to boot from CD first SCSI secound.
Now you can load your OS. When your OS starts to load it will flash a line across bottom of screen asking if you have SCSI hit F6 do so. The OS will keep loading but when its done it will ask for you 3.5 promise disk. Put it in and load the Fast Track 376 program.
When you OS is finished loading it will again ask for this disk as the first time it just loads the drivers to memory the secound time to your HDD.
Good Luck it a little confussing the first time as the programers think there talking to techs not people so use terms that sometimes don't make sense.
