Delta infopack

Hi,
I have a delta infopackage in which there is a restriction
EX: Doc type = u201CSALu201D which is in production and running daily.
Now the user wants to delete that restriction and requires everything in BI. Now what happens if I delete SAL from infopack and run the delta run
1. Infopackage will extract all the document types into PSA without history of other doc types OR
2. Ends up with error.

ok....the delta package selections are not set manually. they are the combination of all the valid inits done so far.
so, you have a init with doctype = SAL.
when you run the delta infopackage you will have as sel criteria SAL.
now you do a second init with only (eg) INQ
when you run the delta infopackage you will have as sel criteria SAL and INQ.
so if you want to have all (and you don't want to delete the existing delta), you need to make sure you run also an init for all the doctypes not equal to SAL.
a good guess would be from AAA to SAK and from SAM to ZZZ.but of course you need to double check.
hope it's clear now. you can easily test this in a development system....create multiple init packages, let them run, and then run the delta package. you will see it combines the selection criteria of all your infopackages.
as a remark: make sure you don't have any overlapping criteria in the inits...the load will dump

How to initialize delta for a new data target

Hi
I have an ODS from which there are several other targets getting updated thru an export datasource. The delta initialization happend some 6 months back. I now have a new ODS into which i need to load the data from the original ODS. How can i initialise the delta to my new target without changing the delta initialization of the other targets and continue the delta for all of them together?
can i use the same initialization for my new target??
If i do a full update and then a initialise w/o data transfer, will the further delta bring the data from the correct point, is there a possiblity of data loss??

Hi Ajay,
the steps are as follows.
1 delete the initialization. open infopackage >> menu scheduler >> Initialization options for source systems >> delete the request thats there.
2. Now go to the Update tab of the infopack >> select option Initialize Delta process >> check the option initialize without Data transfer
3. Goto Schedule tab and start the job.
here the data targets will be all the targets the infopack loads.
4. Create a new infopack
5. goto Data targets tab >> select data targets >> put a check on your new ODS/Cube
6. Goto Update tab >> select the option Full update
7. goto menu Scheduler >> select Repair full request >> put a check on Indicate request as Repair Request >> hit OK
8. Goto schedule tab >> start the job.
9. Continue with the existing Delta infopack that was load the old ODS/Cubes and make sure your new ODS/Cube is also cheked for the delta.

Delta load problem in process chain

Hi,
I have ODS givng data to another ODS. The init of this flow was done manually...Now i have created process chain in which further processing has variant as "execute infopackage" as the delta package made .. now when i check this process chain its giving me error ""Delete init. request
REQU_49LKNGG0SE5966D3S7SQYYDQX before running
init. again with same selection"" .. Actually this is not the Init req which i ran manually..this is the req which was run when i ran this process chain... what shld i do to add only delta IP in process chain so that i dnt ve to delete init

hi,
first load all the init loads from the ods to cube. then u have to create the delta infopack and include that in the chain.
create the int info pack under the infosource 8<ods name>
trigger that infopack, create the delta infopack under the 8<odsname> infosource , and you have include that in the PC.
Please do changes in your process chain.
Local chain 1 - start -> load to ods -> activation of ods ->further processing(remove the infopack in this process maintain variant).
Lcoal chain 2 - start -> delete index ->load delta to cube -> create index -> roll up (if needed)
Main chain -> start -> local chain 1 ->local chain2

Delta load - LIS extractor to several target - test load to single target

Hi
I want have a daily delta load from a LIS extractor to 3 targets (ODS's). I would like to make a test delta load to one of the 3 targets (because it has been reconstructed).
Will it cause any problems if I make a delta load from the LIS extractor to one of the targets and not all of the targets? Will the records that I loaded in my test load arrive in the two other targets when the daily delta runs later on?

Hi Torben,
you can do this if you first load the data to PSA, because when you load the data with delta infopack the delta queue will be reset in source system. But the data will remain in PSA, so you can upload again (to same infoprovider or different one if update rules exists) from PSA.

Delta issue in CRM datasource

Hi all,
There's a DS 0crm_oppt_h from which delta records to be loaded into BI.But delta records are not getting pulled into the BI system.
I have checked the settings for delta records in bwa5,bwa7,smw01,smw02,smqr, everything is fine. But still Iam not getting the delta records.
Is there any thing am missing in checking or is there any other way to pull the deltas from CRM datasource.

Hi,
First of all, CRM datasources will not have setup tables....they are not part of LO Extraction
Secondly, Did you check in RSA7 and SMQ1.
Please check RSA7 first and see if this DS is available and check the if the no of LUW's is not equal to zero.
Then check SMQ1 too.
if the entries for this datasource are zero in either cases....it means that there is no new delta data that has to be pulled into BI.
To test if the DS is working fine, make some data postings on CRM end. Then Run RSA3 and check if it picks any delta on Source system side.
Also check and RSA7 and SMQ1 again. once u find the new entries in the these T-codes, plz run delta Infopack and DTP

InfoPackage - Delta Update

Hi,
I noticed something strange. I created an InfoPackage in Dev with delta update and promoted to Q and P, but I don't see the radio button 'delta' in Q or P at all. Is it common? I could not find any thread on this in the forums.
Another issue is I am trying to create a delta infopack for 0Customer and 0Material master data load, but I don't see that option in D. Please comment.

you always have a way to include your info pack to process chain from RSPC.
open your process chain -> click on info source icon on left side -> find your info source -> select your info pack -> drag and map to your chain based on your requirment and sequence. only thing is to run them daily add Delta info pack to chain.

Delta and Full Load question for cube and ODS

Hi all,
I need to push full load from Delta ODS.
I have process chain.... in which the steps are like below,
1. R/3 extractor for ODS1 (delta)
2. ODS1 to ODS2 (delta)
3. ODS2 to Cube ---> needs to be full load
Now when i run process chain by further processing automatically ODS2 does init/delta for Cube.
How can i make it possible for full load ??
can any one guide anything in this ?

Hi,
1. R/3 extractor for ODS1 (delta) : This is OK, normally you can put the Delta InfoPack in Process Chian
2. ODS1 to ODS2 (delta): It automatically flow from ODS1 to ODS2 (you need to select Update Data automaticall in the Targets at the time of ODS creation)
3. ODS2 to Cube ---> needs to be full load :
This you create a Update rules from ODS1 to Cube then Create InfoPackage in between ODS2 and Cube then do full loads. You can delete the data in the CUbe before the load ann dthen do Full load to Cube.
Note: In ODS2 don't select Upadate Data autmaticlly to Data Targets

How to create a event and assign to task

How to create events in BW and assign to any process..
Like i want to complete a delta load and do the full load.
After finishing the delta load, full load has to be triggered.
So can anyone help to creating the events in bw and assigning it to the prcess.

Thanks for the reply.. we are not using the process chains instead we are using the infopackage groups. I created the event in SM62, But how should i assign this new event to my delta load.
In full upload infopackage, in selection option i can give the event there in "after event"
But my doubt is how to assign my event to the delta infopack

I understood and read all the threads regard to update types.
But Stll not cleared.Pls clarify me as they are simple one.
1. When datasource is DELTA Capable, can it be changed or also used as FULL UPDATE? how?
2. When we re-initialize, I see there is an option of "Transfer with data" and Transfer without Data". May I know in what scenario we apply the above two options.. and Why?
3. How to know whether delta is working or not in R/3. ? Also how to check the DELTA created fro STD Datasource?
When a datasource is delta enable, so all changes and new records are fetched onlly through RSA7, right? Can we see that in RSA3 extractor with update mode FULL, is it possible? when do we check with update mode DELTA and other options in RSA3?? becoz I see the use of RSA3 is only at start point or the last end point which is your last delta..nothing else//

Even thought the data source is delta capable you can always do the full upload. Ex - 0MATERIAL_ATTR, 0CUSTOMER_ATTR

By default its always "Transfer with data". Most of the cases transfer without data is used for error fixing. Ex: By mistake you have deleted few sales order from your target using selective deletion. Now you want to reload that data. So for this you need to fill up the setup table for those orders and do the repair full load. After this you need to restore the delta. So to restore, you need to run init infopakcage without data transfer. This is put the timestamp on RSA7
3. How to know whether delta is working or not in R/3. ? Also how to check the DELTA created fro STD Datasource?
Extract the init infopackage, then in the source system add a record. Then in bi run the delta infopack.
Goto RSA6, search the datasource and double click, there is a check box called Delta update. If this is ticked it means its delta enabled.

You can check delta mode is rsa3 by selecting update type u201CDu201D only if there is active delta init. Only where there is data in the setup tables you can check with full update. Otherwise it will say 0 Records extracted.
Most of the cases it is used to see if the extractor is working fine or enhancement are working fine.

PSA is never a delta. It is the datasource which is delta. DTP will pickup all the requests that have not been loaded into the target using the delta. DTP is from PSA to target not from source (ECC) to target providers.
Ex: data loaded from ECC to bi psa ---REQ 1
Run the DTP, DTP will pick REQ1
Nextday
ECC to BI ---REQ2..
Run the DTP, DTP will pick ONLY REQ2
Delete entire data from Cube and Run the delta DTP, DTP will pick up REQ 1 and REQ 2

How to change date selections at Infopackage data selections in production sys

Hi All ,
we are loading data into Infocube from datasource ,one process chain for delta init with data transfor ,which has data selections at infopackage say 06.2014 and other process chain for delta which has same selections at infopackage . Now I want change this data selections at Infopackage level .
I Have tried to change these dates in data selections at infopackage level , tho I have changed and saved to future date at delta initial with data transfor ,it's keep coming back to 06.2014. Of course data selection at delta Infopackage level is faded .
I Want to set future date with delta int with disturbing delta loads . How to do it please .

Change filters in an infopackage

i use an ancien version of BW (V3.5 i think) and i can get to change the filters in an infopackage.

Below example should clarify your doubt.
You can change your filters in Init Info-Package. Let' s say you have initialized your Init InfoPackage with only one company code
1001.
So, your Delta InfoPack is bringing delta records related to company code 1001 only.
Now , you added two more company codes 1002 and 1003 in the init selection. Subsequent deltas will bring data for 1001 , 1002 and 1003. So, its the upper maximum of all your delta inits.
But you do not have old data for 1002 and 1003. If you are doing Repair full request then you can get old data of 1002 and 1003.
But things to check here , whether you have all the Key Figure as overwrite here before pulling repair full, else KF values will be doubled. In that case you can do repair full request with selection to avoid duplicate values there.

lemme explain what i did.
I loaded the masterdata on a infoobject in a full upload .. then installed the process chains.. and the process chains had the init delta infopack in it .. so when i executed the process chains, the init has been done.. I assume.
Now when i go back to process chains and execute it again, this is the msg the system throws at me. As this process chain is a part of meta process chain.. so i'm not able to execute it .. when i'm trying to execute the meta process chains... its dumping me. I have a few new records that needs to be loaded.
When u say that i included a wrong infopack in my process, the ones i'm using are pretty much out of box solutions(content), so i dont think it has something to do with the wrong info pack....What do u say?
When i showed to the other guy he said, material XXXX is not loaded yet, attribute change run didnt take place, and another material YYYY is still in version M ...
What do u think i should do?

BD61 change pinters...

Iam not familiar with this tcode...Iam trying to load material delta infopack...initally I was getting an error
The extraction program does not support object 0MATERIAL
ALE change pointers are not set up correctly
Errors in source system
Then I tick the checkbox in BD61 ...Change Pointer Activated : Generally
Now I could able to run the infopack without errors but no data always...Do I need to run any job in R/3 to get the material detla?

By activating the change pointers tcode BD61 I could able to load the deltas
