Deploying Javabeans on a different server such as JBoss

Hi
I have got a very simple bean, taken from sun site. The bean works fine when it is deployed on the j2ee server that comes with the jdk. But when i move the code over to a different server such as JBoss i get a null pointer exception on the page. On the server it states
"Unable to lookup home: TheConverter ejb/TheConverter not found in defaultWebApp"
Has someone had the same problem and also how did they fix it

It will depend on how you're looking up the resource in your web app.
For JBoss your web application will need a jboss-web.xml file in its WEB-INF directory. This file will indicate to the web container where it will find the named resource in the JNDI tree. You should check on the JBoss forums for a better example but I imagine it would something like this:

  <ejb-ref>

    <ejb-ref-name>ejb/TheConverter</ejb-ref-name>
    <!-- Where the EJB is deployed in the global JNDI tree -->
    <jndi-name>ejb/TheConverter</jndi-name>
  </ejb-ref>
</jboss-web>You'll also need a jboss.xml file in your EJB JAR (in the META-INF directory) that tells JBoss where to deploy the EJB. Again, not sure about this so check on the JBoss site.

  <enterprise-beans>
    <session>
      <ejb-name>TheConverterEJB</ejb-name>
      <jndi-name>ejb/TheConverter</jndi-name>
      <configuration-name>Standard Stateless SessionBean</configuration-name>
    </session>
  </enterprise-beans>
</jboss>You may need to change some of the names I've used to match your existing deployment descriptors.
