Portal Application deployment problem to Managed Web Server

I'm trying to deploy an ADF application using JSR168 portlets to a Managed Web Server on WebCenter 11g and I'm getting the following error in the log file after running the portal.jsp (I get 'Portlet unavailable' on the browser page):
oracle.adf.model.portlet.binding.PortletBindingException: The metadata for portlet binding TasksPortlet1_1 was not found in MDS.
When I deploy the application from JDeveloper to the Managed Web Server I get the following error (The application does deploy successfully):
Error during portlet export. Portlets will not be available in the target application. Context: input mds repository file path = C:\JDeveloper\mywork\Mindflow\mds. output mds repository file path = C:\JDeveloper\mywork\Mindflow\.mdsExport. input connections file path and name = /C:/JDeveloper/mywork/Mindflow/.adf/META-INF/connections.xml. export ID = /oracle/adf/portlet/export. producer/portlet IDs to export: [oracle/adf/portlet/MindFlowWsrpPortletProducer].
However if I right-click on the portal.jsp page and select Run from JDeveloper and run it within the Integrated WLS it does run fine there.
Is there something special that needs to be set for the Deployment on either the application or project? Or is there something that needs to be setup via the web-based Adminstrative Console (I have verified that the MindFlowWsrpPortletProducer is registered on the Admin console)?
Thanks,
Randy Skold

Thanks for the reply ... here is the answer to your questions along with an update to some more information after trying something different
Did you deploy the WebCenter Managed server from Jdeveloper
I am deploying the application to the WebCenter Managed server from JDeveloper.
What managed server did you deploy it to - a custom server that you created?
Yes this is a custom Managed Server (called MindFlow). At the time of your response the only two servers up and running on WebCenter was the AdminServer and MindFlow.
Did the deployment go through?
Yes
Are there any errors in the managed server log when you access the page?
Yes these where the errors showing that it could not connect with the metadata via the repositories.
Now for the update:
I went ahead and started up the WLS_Portlet managed server that comes with WebCenter. When I did this I got the following error:
WSM-04509: cannot initialize the connection to the data store
I then deployed the Portlet Producer Application to the WLS_Portlet from JDeveloper. I then grabbed the url for the newly created portlet producer and updated the connection on the Portal application. After doing this and updating the portal.jspx file, I then deployed the Portal application to the MindFlow managed web server. I then brought up the portal.jspx page via a browser and was able to bring back results. The only issue now is that while doing this I got multiple MDS errors (including the initialize error above) and not sure if I can ignore these or not. One of the errors received was as follows:
oracle.mds.exception.MDSException: MDS-01258: The value @MDS_CLASS for property class-name is invalid.

AFAIK JSCs JDBC drivers cand be deployed in Sun's web servers then WHY I got this meesage?
    Regards.

    Hi ICON_SS,
I can explain, but the answer is not ideal :( You are correct that the license states that you can use the data direct drivers with Sun servers - but the server needs to have built in code for how to unlock the driver class (per agreement w/data direct, the drivers we have require code to unlock them so the drivers can't be mis-used)...
The Web Server product team is working on releasing such a version as we speak, but I believe it won't be out for several months. But it's coming!

I already deploy successfully to Tomcat 5 and (of course) PE 8. The common denominator with the same problem on OC4J is that both servers are j2ee 1.3 (even if Sun One runs with JVM 1.4).
I copy the jstl 1.0 jars to some directory and enter such directory in the classpath suffix of JVM.
    Do Im missing something?
    TIA

    Hello,
    Try the following:
After deploying the WAR file, by hand, add a sun-web.xml file to
the deployed path in WEB-INF and make sure classloader delegate is set to false.
    <class-loader delegate="false"/>
Now the bundled libs will be considered first.
(After building the project, see a sample sun-web.xml
in the build/WEB-INF folder - change Project view to Filesystem
view, by right-click on the Project top-level node in the Project
    Navigator)
You may need to include JSF jars in the WAR file by
modifying the JSF Support library reference (mounted
by default in the Project Navigator) by enabling all
    libraries for deployment)

  • What is the url for Financial management web server?

    Hi Guys,
I am trying to create a hfm application and I was asked to prpovide the hfm web server url. What is the financial management web server url? Could you help me in finding this url. I am using Hyperion version 9.3.1.

We're invoking the BPEL endpoint from a .NET app using the 'endpoint location' but seemed to be forced to use the embedded version number. For instance we have to say 'http://<server>:<port>/orabpel/<domain>/<process>/1.0' and I can't seem to get rid of the '1.0'. This contrasts to the WSDL location where I can use a browser and remove the version number to get the current default.
Am I doing something wrong? I'd like to avoid embedding the version in the endpoint.

  • Problem with iPlanet Web Server 6

We are getting an intermittent problem with our web server, the users start to get problems connecting to the web site.
I have found the following message in the error log -
failure ( 2390): Error accepting connection -5928, oserr=130 (Connect aborted)
    can anybody help???

    Check out the below.
Problem 4680491. CSS causes oserr=130 in iWS 6.0 logs.
    Workaround
If you are using the Cisco Content Services Switch (CSS) with Sun ONE Web Server and have set the value of the sticky bit setting in CSS to on, the following error is logged periodically in the error logs:
failure ( 2210): Error accepting connection -5928, oserr=130 (Connect aborted)
This is caused not by a defect in Sun ONE Web Server but by the setting of the sticky bit in CSS. To avoid the error logging, set the value of the sticky bit in CSS to off.
Which as been fixed in iWS 6.0 SP5.

    </listener>
I've added this, and now get a deployment error:

  • Deployment problem in managed server environment

I have a problem deploying a connector as a .rar-file. The file contains the two deployment
descriptors and a .jar-file containing the connector classes. If I deploy the connector
in a non-managed server (for instance the admin server), there is not a problem at
all. But if I deploy the connector to a server that is managed I get an exception
indicating that the resource manager could not find my javax.resource.spi.ManagedConnectionFactory
              implementation.
If I put the .jar-file containing my connector implementation classes into the system
classpath when booting the managed server, the problem is solved. The problem is
that I don't want this .jar-file in the system classpath.
Is this a known bug with any workarounds?
              Environment:
              Windows 2000
              WLS 6.1 SP 3
              JDK 1.3.1

              Hi Leif,
I believe that there is a patch that resolves this problem. Could you please ask
BEA Support for the 6.1 SP2 patch called CR078437_61sp2.jar. You would need to
put this .jar on the front of your WLS classpath. This patch was created for 6.1
SP2 but I believe should work for SP3 as well.

  • Terracotta: application deploy problem (WLP 9.2)

    hi,
when i try to deploy a Portal application on a bea weblogic server (9.2.1), that is enabled for terracotta (added the java startup arguments to the bea server and the client is visible in the Terracotta Administrator Console), the deployment fails and a lot of compile errors are shown concerning bea classes (from netuix.jar and content.jar, see bottom for snippet). for some reason bea wants to compile these classes on deployment.
has anybody seen this same problem and does anybody have a solution or workaround for this problem? must the classes be compiled on the fly during development?
    regards,
    erik

Can you post the entire log messages here.
Its difficult to understand why it failed. I searched around and found that normally this error message needs to be ignored and its not much of an issue. Also, the error actually means that it is trying to some additional classes which it cant find.
Since you are not being able to deploy your web application, we need to see your entire error log.

  • Application deploying problem JDevelopeStudio Edition Version 11.1.1.2.0

Hi we are using JDeveloperStudio Edition Version 11.1.1.2.0 and facing strange problem on few machines, when we are trying to run the application we are getting error as follows:
    [11:00:11 AM] #### Deployment incomplete. ####
    [11:00:11 AM] null
    #### Cannot run application XBSystemMasters due to error deploying to IntegratedWebLogicServer.
[Application XBSystemMasters stopped and undeployed from Server Instance IntegratedWebLogicServer]
Only after deleting our application folder from <C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\JDeveloper\system11.1.1.2.36.55.36\o.j2ee\drs> we are able to run the application for once, again if we try to run it we are getting same above error message.
To run it again we have to delete the above mention folder again by stopping weblogic server then it works properly.Every time to run the application we have to delete the folder.Complete uninstall/reinstall and even formatting of the system is also not working. The same application copied on another system with same configuration i.e Windows xp sp3 it's working there but few machines are giving this problem.
Every time stopping the web server and deleting the folder to test the code is very painful process.
Please let me know if I am making any mistake while installing or configuring JDeveloper
    Thanks!!!

Yes Frank all the development machines are with same configurations i.e XP SP3 but few machines are facing this problem ,undeploy and redeploy is not solving the problem we tried the same.Even complete shutdown of JDeveloper/pc is not solving the problem unless and untill that application folder from drs is not deleted JDeveloper is not allowing us to rerun the application again. We will try to change default user directory hope that may solve the problem. Thanks!!

  • Communication problem between external web server and SAP WebAS

    Hello Experts,
We are having a serious problem over here where we had one external server is pushing XML string using a HTTP-POST request to our SAP WebAS server (a BSP application is handling this request). We are not able to see the request coming to SAP i.e. SAP-BSP is not receiving XML.
Also we found that, if request is routed through another proxy server (apache tomcat server redireting the request) connected through VPN to our network, it works but if the the same server is inside our network it doesn't. Rather in that case it never hits the Apache-Tomcat server itself.
We tried to identify the network issue but it seems it is not the network or any firewall issue. When we had a small Echo server (itu2019s a small Java server) running on our SAP machine, we could see the request coming in. So it is definitely reaching the SAP server but the SAP Web AS is not picking up. Rather what we found that if the URL is simple e.g. http://<hostname>:<port> it works but if the URL is complex like something generated by SAP incase of BSP application it doesn't.
Any idea what is causing this issue?
I tried to look at SMICM trace files but got nothing. Any idea where would find the trace of incoming HTTP requests to SAP WebAS?
    Thanks in advance.

  • JavaFX application deployment problem - Error: Unable to load resource

I am developing my first JavaFX application. When I install the jnlp and jar files on my web server I have no problems using the application from either my development machine (Windows XP) or my test machines (Windows XP & Mac OS X). However, one person evaluating the application reports getting the following error:
Error: Unable to load resource: http://dl.javafx.com/1.3/javafx-rt-windows-i586__V1.3.0_b412.jar
What are the possible causes of this problem and how can they be resolved?

If being able to redistribute the JavaFX runtime is important to you, make sure you let Oracle know. Personally I'd prefer to host it myself or bundle it with an application installer. Being forced to rely on dl.javafx.com isn't acceptable for me.

  • Issue with Feature Deployment when DB and Web Server are on different machine

    Hi,
We are trying to deploy our Custom Processes as site feature.
In Visual studio it shows Deployment Succeeded but feature is not available in Site features.
when we checked “Central Administration -> Manage Farm Solution” it shows below error.
Web Server : The solution was successfully deployed.
DB Server IP : Elements of type 'Receivers' are not supported at the 'Farm' scope. This feature could not be installed.
DB Server IP : Elements of type 'Receivers' are not supported at the 'Farm' scope. This feature could not be installed.
We are able to ping DB server from Web Server .
Also , we are able to add custom fields and lookup manually in web Server and those are getting reflected in DB .
    Thanks,
    Abhijit

    Hello,
I would probably post this in the SharePoint forum as deploying features is a SharePoint process and not Project / Project Server (even if the feature is related to Project Server).
