Deploying Oracle Retail Applications in Oracle 10g Application Server
Hi All..
Can anyone help me to know:
How to Deploy Oracle Retail Applications(like RMS,ReIM,RIB) in Oracle 10g Application Server.
Regards.
Hi Ahmed,
It sounds you have not yet had the chance to lay eyes on the installation guides - they are not perfect but should point you in the right direction.
Please start at http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/documentation/oracle-retail-100266.html and check out the install guide per application module.
Best regards,
Erik

Oracle Retail Integration - Partner Oracle Object
Defect 13014494 has been created via Defect Workbench iBug portal request id: (3095192).

Edited by: paula on Jan 8, 2012 6:10 AMVerified this is an Oracle bug and the correct field length is 250.
The Oracle Object for partner CreatePartnerRibObjects should be changed to match the XSD field length:
DROP TYPE RIB_AddrDesc_REC FORCE ;
CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE RIB_AddrDesc_REC UNDER RIB_OBJECT (
addr number(6),
addr_type varchar2(2),

Oracle Retail Products Installation and Implementation
Can individual modules like Oracle Retail Allocation be used as standalone Products, without installing Oracle RMS?
The following point is mentioned in the Oracle® Retail Merchandising Implementation Guide Release 13.2.4 E28940-01
"RMS owns virtually all of the information that Oracle Retail Allocation needs to operate and the information that Oracle Retail Allocation provides is of primary interest/use for RMS. As a result Oracle Retail Allocation has limited interaction with other Oracle Retail Merchandising Operations Management applications. For Oracle Retail Merchandising
Operations Management applications that Oracle Retail Allocation does interact with it is managed through direct reads from Oracle Retail Merchandising Operations Management application tables, direct calls to Oracle Retail Merchandising Operations Management packages, and Oracle Retail Allocation packages based on Oracle Retail Merchandising Operations Management application tables."
So, for implementing Oracle Retail Allocation, is Oracle RMS mandatory?My understanding is yes.
The text you provided indicates that Allocations does not directly communicate with other modules, such as SIM, but instead does so via RMS. When you install RMS without Alloc, you actually get a lot of the database tables & DB package code for Alloc. This gives some indication as to the level of dependency that Alloc has on having RMS installed. -
Hi all,
We are planning to install and test Oracle Retail 11.0.5 in our test box on either 11i or R12. But, come across with many doubts and would like your valuable response for our following questions.
1. How to install and implement Oracle Retail(Retek) in Oracle Applications (11i or R12) ?
2. Is Oracle Retail is already incorporated in EBS and comes as a part of EBS? or is it a seperate product? or available as a patch?
3. If seperate product, customer already using EBS can get the product free of cost? or need to purchase it?
Looking for immediate response...

Deployment of class file in oracle 10g Application Server
Hi,
I have a class file
import java.io.*;
import javax.servlet.*;
import javax.servlet.http.*;
public class HelloWorld extends HttpServlet {
public void doGet(HttpServletRequest req, HttpServletResponse res)
throws ServletException, IOException {
res.setContentType ("text/html");
PrintWriter out = res.getWriter();
out.println("<HTML>");
out.println("<HEAD><TITLE>Hello World</TITLE></HEAD>");
out.println("<BODY>");
out.println("<BIG>Hello World</BIG>");
out.println("</BODY></HTML>");
now I like to deploy(in oracle 10g Application Server) and run this file.
please help me.Hi
You have to deploy Servlet as a WAR File. I hope you already have web.xml file which u can get automatically in eclsipse during creation of servelet. I am not sure what ide u r using here. If u have created servlet in eclipse then I would suggest create a project dynamic webproject if u have not where IDE create all required files autmatiicaly and even you can deploy application from there itself.
If you wanted to deploy manually then follow below steps (if u have war file)
I am assuming you already created a Weblogic Domain and have admin username/password. Start your domain. Login into weblogic console like http://host:port/console and use admin username/password. Then from Deployments section, deploy the above WAR file. In Weblogic you can deploy JAR (EJBs, java files), WAR (web jsp, html, webservices, servlets) or EAR (JAR + WAR). In your case its just a WAR file.

Deployment of simple jsp application in Oracle 10g AS
Hi All,
This is a critical issue. We have a JSP application which uses the plain old java objects to esltabilsh database connection and same old java objects to perform the business logic.
All java file are packed in a jar file and all jsp's and other files(GIF,CSS etc) are copied to a folder.
So what should be the steps to deploy this application to the Oracle 10g Application server.Thanks for the update.
But application is already developed and is Runing in the 9i As and now we have to deploy it to the 10g server.
Some steps that i am following to deploy the application are:-
Steps for the deploying the A+ Web portal in OUGD
1)Copy the “aplus” folder(containing related jsps,css and gif files) and aplus.jar file to
“<<ORA-HOME>>/iAS/Apache/Jserv”
2) Go to the following file
"<<ORA-HOME>>/iAS/Apache/Jserv/etc/jserv.properties” and add the following lines,
#APlus
wrapper.classpath=<<ORA-HOME>>/iAS/Apache/Jserv/aplus
wrapper.classpath=<<ORA-HOME>>/iAS/Apache/Jserv/aplus.jar
#APLUS CONFIGURATION
wrapper.bin.parameters=-DWV_GATEWAY_CFG=<<ORAHOME>>/iAS/Apache/modplsql/cfg/wdbsvr.app
3) Go to the following file
“<<ORA-HOME>>/iAS/Apache/Jserv/etc/zone.properties” and add the
following lines
Append the following line to “repositories=”
<<ORA-HOME>>/iAS/Apache/Jserv/aplus,
<<ORA-HOME>>/iAS/Apache/Jserv/aplus.jar
4) Go the following file
“<<ORA-HOME>>/iAS/Apache/Apache/conf/apps.conf” and add the following lines
Alias /aplus/ "<<ORA-HOME>>/iAS/Apache/Jserv/"
<Directory "<<ORA-HOME>>/iAS/Apache/Jserv">
Options Indexes MultiViews

URGENT: Deployment of ADF UIX application to Oracle App Server 10g
Hi,
Please let me know of documentation of how to deploy an ADF UIX application developed using Jdeveloper9.0.5.2 to Oracle Application Server 10g.
I have already created an WAR and EAR deployment profile. and also an ORacle APp server connection from the connections tab in Jdeveloper.
Thanks a lot.Have a look at the JDeveloper online help (F1) there is a complete chapter about deploying:
http://helponline.oracle.com/jdeveloper/help/state/content/destination.2%7E9%7E1%7E6%7E/navSetId.jdeveloper/oldNavId.0/navId.0/oldNavSetId.jdeveloper/
Basically you need to deploy the ADF runtime libraries (use the ADF Runtime Installer), and then deploy your WAR. -

Oracle Application Server 10g (Application Running)
Dear All Sir/Madam
It is my humble request that please tell me how to run Application on Application Server 10g.
I developed my Application in Oracle developer suit 10g (build internet appliacation), and I am using *10g database*.
Now please tell me the complete procedure who to configure oracle application server 10g on linux.Hello Ghulam,
Notice that you can deploy different kind of applications within the Application Server framework, e.g. JEE applications, PL/SQL applications, Forms Applications etc. Based on what you initially mentioned, it seems that your have developed a Forms application. The above document reference refers to Application Server 10.1.3, which was a JEE / SOA release. You are probably better off with the [url http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_18/web.1012/b14032/toc.htm]Forms Deployment Guide.
One note : Application Server 10.1.2.x is soon to be desupported. Consider to move to version [url http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/forms/downloads/index.html]11.1.2 !
