Deploying packages through a script

Good day Experts,
I have a SQL script that compiles ~10 package specifications and then 10 package bodies. Before executing the script I set these "Set define off; set scan off;". The problem is one of those package bodies wont compile. The script just stops without any error message or log.
I presume its something with the package it cant deploy. However since the package is around ~8k lines long I cant pinpoint whats the error.
Does anyone have a idea what could be wrong?
Best regards,
Igor

May be "/" is missing at the end of packages. They all have /. I couldnt find anything on the internet so I started cutting the package till I finally deleted this characters that were commented:
select chr(14), chr(23), chr(15)
from dual; After that I could execute the script.
Best regards,
Igor

  • Group Policy - Issues deploying software packages through GPO

    Hello everyone,
I am having issues successfully deploying MSI packages through group policy.  I have set my computer account up in its own test OU in my domain, but yet the software will not deploy.  Example, I'm trying to deploy AVG Anti-Virus and make sure it
is installed on each and every PC in my domain.  As for the GPO, I set it up as an assigned package and pointed to the location of the package with the UNC file path (visible to both the DC and my computer that is part of the affected OU)
On the domain controller, I get these messages in application event logs:
Beginning a Windows Installer transaction: \\hs-dc2\software\avg\installavg.msi. Client Process Id: 9048.
Ending a Windows Installer transaction: \\hs-dc2\software\avg\installavg.msi. Client Process Id: 9048.
This shows up when I refresh GP on my computer.  I run gpresult /h GPReport.html and get the following message:
Software Installation failed due to the error listed below.
    Fatal error during installation.
Additional information may have been logged. Review the Policy Events tab in the console or the application event log for events between
The software is in a share on the domain controller that is visible from my computer, and permissions are set where "Everyone" has read access.  I have tested the package on my computer and it installs
correctly if I do it manually, so it's a good package.
I'm at a loss.  I am admitedly very new to GP management, but I'm pretty sure I have covered all my bases here.  I humbly ask for any and all help that you all can provide.
Thank you all very much, have a great weekend!

    > Magnolia_Schools.exe
    What's that???
    > \\hs-dc2\software\avg\installavg.msi
    > <file://\\hs-dc2\software\avg\installavg.msi> /qb addeploy=1
    /qb ADDEPLOY=1
    Uppercase matters (:
A bissle "Experience", a bissle GMV... Wenn meine Antwort hilfreich war, freue ich mich über eine Bewertung! If my answer was helpful, I'm glad about a rating!
I should have explained, my apologies.  The InstallAVG.msi is the package I have GP deploying.  it is a package that AVG wrote for us that goes in, uninstalls the two previous antivirus softwares we have on our network if it is present, and
then wraps it to run magnolia_schools.exe which installs the AV software.  I am uninstalling AVG now and will try reinstalling with
    \\hs-dc2\software\avg\installavg.msi /qb ADDEPLOY=1 and report back.
also, the only logs I found that were around the time of the install attempt were such as these:
    1: 2905 2: C:\windows\system32\appmgmt\MACHINE\{06ee0d46-cd5f-4216-a09f-2aeb573aa5ba}.aas
    1: 2905 2: C:\windows\system32\appmgmt\MACHINE\{06ee0d46-cd5f-4216-a09f-2aeb573aa5ba}.aas
    Does that tell you anything?
I will say this, if this means anything...now that AVG is installed, the event logs are changing from an error %%1603 to this:
Failed to apply changes to software installation settings. The installation of software deployed through Group Policy for this user has been delayed until the next logon because the changes must be applied before the user logon. The error was : %%1274
The removal of the assignment of application exe2msiSetupPackage from policy Install AVG failed. The error was : %%2
So it acts like it's at least seeing that the package is installed...and reacting differently, correct?
    Thanks so much

  • Error: Failed to acquire connection while exporting a file using SSIS package through SQl Server Agent job.

    Hi Team,
I am running a sql server job which is loading data to a sharepoint document library.File is an excel format and is getting loaded

I am not able to trace the error of loading data from a sharepoint library.library. Sql agent jobs works fine when i give local path. The
account which is running the sql agent job is the same who has access to document library.I also tried to run the job through proxy account. I am using a xml configuraion to store my credentials.I am able to palce the same file to a network drive in the same

    Thanks,
    Arsa..

Is that the WebDAV method that you are suggesting here to map the n/w drive?
Its kind of webdav but you will be using windows nw drive to store data
yes, I am able to create the file to D: , but didn't check with the C:.
Try with c:, as c: require special permisssions

  • Jerky performance in iBooks widget and Animate Deployment Package

    Hi folks,
I'm making a interactive children's book using Edge animate as I wanted it to be full of rich interaction, animation etc. My plan is to make the whole book in Edge and then drop that Edge file into either iBooks author or Adobe DPS. When I preview the work in Chrome through the actual application of Edge it plays perfectly, really smoothly and with no lag at all.
However, when I export as an iBooks widget or use the Animate Deployment Package option and preview through either iBooks or DPS then I see a marked reduction in performance. There is a slight lag between tapping an item and the animations starting and they play through in a slightly jerky fashion.
I read a discussion on these forums where the person said they had noticed the same thing when they had used symbols in their work. Unfortunately, because of the complexity of my project, I have to use symbols. Is this just how it is?
It's not absolutely dreadful, and if if that's how it is then I can live with it - but I would prefer it to be as smooth as it appears on my browser previews.
Any thoughts or suggestions on what I can do to improve the performance?
    Thanks,
    Tom.

    Hi Elaine,
Thanks for getting back to me.
The largest graphic that I animate is 1024 x 768, but I didn't notice any particular drop in performance between larger items over smaller ones. I did notice that bitmaps suffered more from the jerky framerate than DIV elements created within Edge, but I guess that's to be expected.
Most of the images are .pngs because they need to be character's arms, legs etc to make the figures animate, so that must be the issue I guess. I've probably just been spoilt from seeing it run so smoothly on my desktop browser!
The 'symbols' comment was something that I thought was odd too - I only mentioned it as it had been brought up on the forums in relation to playback issues in iBooks.
Anyway, like I said it's not dreadful so I'll just have to live with it as I can't optomize the graphics to not have transparency in this instance.
    Thanks for your time,
    Tom.

  • WSUS Updates to Available and Required collections - multiple deployment packages?

Hi, I'm trying to follow various documents but cannot find a single unified methodology for how WSUS updates are now supposed to work
I am creating software update Groups and trying to keep them under 1000 updates each as they take 2 hours or so.
So i have a Pre2103, All2013, 2014January to May, 2014 June to September and starting from this month i will do one monthly
My Client base is servers or workstations. I have 2 collections - Available (DCs SQl etc that need manual intervention) and Required (everything else)
So i now create a deployment package for each group - but now i have to do that twice? Once for available collection and once for required collection? Am i missing an easier/better way of doing this?
Once these have all been set up do i then have to deploy them with an ADR? Inject them into the Gold image of my workstations?
I would like the internal WSUS to work exactly like (or as near as can be) to the way microsoft's works. EG if i take a vanilla windows 7 or 8 build and connect it to my network, it gets the GPO, installs the client then goes to SCCM and gets alll the updates
to bring itself up to date without me having to then go back into SCCM and create a specifc deployment of job or to manually send out anything.
Or will this only work when the collection gets updated and is aware of the new computer?
    Thanks

OK i'm doing this now. As in the initial message i posted, everything up til 14th October is
done and dusted. I have 4x Software Update groups. Pre2013, All2013,2014JantoMay and
    2104JunetoSept
For each of these groups, i created a Folder under the root All Software Updates", filtered
my searches and moved each grou of updates into its own folder for neatness, as well as a
    "Superseded and Expired" folder
To deploy each of these i HAD to create a deployment package for each. Only done "Required"
so far so i have 4 Deployment packages.
So, now i am going to step through what i think i need to do to set up updates released on or
    after 14/10/2014
I have no software update group or deployment package for October's releases and no ADRs at
    all.
Just a list of 232 updates in All Software Updates. I deleted expired and superseded etc.
In this view, there are 64 Assets total. 7 unknown!!? What does this even mean? How do i find
out which are unknown? In the all device list, they are either clients or not. Nothing says
    unknown!! Anyway thats for later...
    I have 2x collections. WSUS-Available (x23) and WSUS-Required (x41)
None of the 232 updates are downloaded and theres a mixture of required not required and
    percent compliant. .
I have a workstation on the domain and have run a windows update (updates managed by my
system administrator) and it says Up to date - and it takes ages.
If i change this to "Check fromo Microsoft" i get 42 important updates and 34 optional
updates available. This is my target scenario to hit from SCCM WSUS
    OK here goes.
I select all 232 updates and move them to a folder called 2014October
i go to Automatic Deployment Rules and Create a new one called WSUS2014Oct-Required
    select Patch Tuesday Template
    Collection is WSUS-Required
create a new software update group
    Auto Deploy
Released last 2 weeks - every update classification
Run on a schedule - every second tuesday
    Client local time
1hour / as soon as possible
    default/default/default
now i need to create a new deployment package. Call it WSUS2014Oct
Point it at sources and a folder called 2104October
Now i choose Download software updates from a location on my network and select the local
    drive "E:\WSUS\WSUSContent" folder
So now i have a "Required" ADR and i click Run Now
BUT now i need to do one for the Available group as well. I notice that during the ADR i
    cannot select Required or Available.
So i guess i need to suppress reboots on Servers then?
Also if i am using the same deployment package, why do i need to reselct the download
location again? its the same updates
Also, now that i have 2x ADRs the first one i created creates the deployment package and the
second ADR now points to that deployment package too so i now dont have separate packages to
    monitor
Also, after running them both i get errors and no software update groups are created. So im
guessing thats the problem as the error is 0x80070002 the file you specificed could not be
    found
also get error on the available group saying Auto Deployment Rule download failed
This is ridiculous. Why does creating an ADR allow creation of a SUG if it doesnt work.
    Very frustrated

  • Importing HTMLDB application through sql scripts

I have a question regarding importing application in HTML DB. We have developed an application in one of our instances and now we would like
to deploy the same in all other instances (around 180 instances). We will copy the schema objects through export / import from the backend (through a script). But to import the application, we need to logon to htmldb (from frontend ) and import it.
As we have to do it across 180 instances, its very difficult to do it after login to htmldb and import the application. We would like to know if we can import an application and workspace by running the sql scripts ( created by exporting application and workspace on source instance) in the sqlplus prompt.
In this regard could any one please let me know about the following things.
    1. Can we directly run the sql's (which were created when we exported workspace and application) in the target database?.
    2. If yes, from which user we should run this sql script (Presently we are using HTMLDB 2.0 version)
I have also noticed the following schemas are locked in the database.
    FLOWS_020000
    FLOWS_FILES
    FLOWS_010500
    3. Are there any extra steps which we need to do it after running the sql scripts in target instance.
    4. Is there any way to delete the application and workspace from backend (i.e sqlplus) incase if we need to re-import the same application and workspace.
(This situation arises if we need to make any changes to the application after deploying it in the data center.)
Your help in this regard is highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    Suneel

if we can import an application and workspace by running the sql scripts ( created by exporting application and workspace on source instance) in the sqlplus prompt
    Yes, you can.
    1. Yes.
    2. The workspace export files need to be run as the FLOWS_nnnnnn schema (depending on which version of HTML DB is the active one, you seem to have both 1.5 and 2.0 installed). Yes, you would need to unlock the account first to do this.
    3. If your application needs external CSS or Javascript or image files, you need to copy those over using standard OS file copy tools
    4. Importing a application using SQL*Plus deletes the existing application first so you are fine. You would never need to delete a workspace, a workspace is just a "shell", a container for all your applications.
    Hope this helps.

  • Deployment Packages Empty, WSUS syncs fine

    Hello everyone
I have a 2007 r2 SCCM and 3.0 WSUS environment.  I am trying to troubleshoot why my deployment packages are empty.
Looking at WSUS content folder, I have nearly 15 GB of data in there that appears to be all of the update information required.  However when I attempt to Download the updates through SCCM from the internet, SCCM attempts to download, appears to show
that it is finished but each update says "Unable to contact server - timeout".   Now I know this server can access the internet since WSUS has no problems connecting to Microsoft Updates.
Is the server being contacted the WSUS server?  I downloaded the superflows on this but it really wasnt clear to me.  if the server being contacted is Microsoft Update, then there really should be no reason why there is a communication issue since
the Proxy is set up through SCCM and WSUS uses that info to contact Microsoft Update.
What ends up is that in the directory where the updates deployments are stored, is a whole lot of empty GUID.1 directories, and no updates are deployed.
if you folks have an idea, please fire em off...
    Matthew

    Hi,
it is actually the computer where you run the sccm admin console that does the downloading of updates so you can use another computer with the console installed instead of the sccm site server.
The WSUS server content is never used when you use WSUS together with SCCM, it is only used to download information about available updates that the then shown in the admin console and by the clients when the clients scan for updates, then they use the wsus
server as well to download information about which updates it sould scan for.

  • App-v5 Packages through SCCM2012

Hello, I have a question about deploying applications through SCCM 2012.
Applications deployed through SCCM, their shortcuts have the following path:
    "%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Microsoft\AppV\Client\Integration\A959139A-75BD-4A77-AC79-C1B5407F9B06\Root\Adobe Dreamweaver CS5\Dreamweaver.exe"
    This path resolves to C:\programdata\appv.
When deployed via App-v Management server they get this path:
    "%LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\AppV\Client\Integration\A959139A-75BD-4A77-AC79-C1B5407F9B06\Root\Adobe Dreamweaver CS5\Dreamweaver.exe"
I understand C:\programdata\appv is the master repository for the packages so why is SCCM pointing to the master copy? On the SCCM client I don't see any App-v folders in the users profile so where are their settings stored?

The difference might be caused by the 'targeting' of packages. Both, ConfigMgr and App-V Management Server allow to target packages to users/user groups and/or to computers/computer groups.
When you target a computer, publishing ('shortcut creation') is done to the 'all users' profile

  • Having issues deploying packages in sccm 2012.

I am having trouble deploying packages to my environment. From what I can tell with the trouble shooting I have done so far. The run with admin rights is not passing through to the clients. If I use a standard software package .exe or .msi (like adobe, MS
Office) the package or application installs fine. However if I use, powershell, vb, .bat, straight command line
MsiExec.exe, They all fail to what seems like it’s not passing the admin right through because I get the UAC prompt and install fails. How do I get the admin rights to work with the other forms of installs so I can push them out silent like I do with .exe and
    .msi applications?
    Thanks
    Tony

So first, you can absolutely use Applications for more than just MSIs; for an example see:
    http://blog.configmgrftw.com/configmgr-2012-application-deployment-by-example-user-exe-deployment/
For packages though, the setting is in the program and is on the environment tab in the Run Mode box. Packages merely define the source files, programs define what to do with those source files like the command-line and rights to use.

  • What share and NTFS permissions must I give users to deploy software through SCCM?

What share and NTFS permissions must I give users to deploy software through SCCM? I have one folder with all of the applications and would like to know.
    Thanks
    James A+, Network+, MCP

That still doesn't help. We're not prying, we're trying to help but we honestly have no idea what you are talking about. The more and better details that you can provide, the better we can help.
"Because I want to know" adds no value and does not help us help you. We need technical details -- we can't see what you are seeing and we can't read your mind.
And, you didn't really answer any of my questions.
I'll take another wild-guess though: If you are talking about the source file locations referenced within packages and applications, users do not access those. The computer account for the systems hosting the SMS Provider needs read access to the location(s)
specified. Yes, this means both NTFS and share permissions assuming they are being referenced via a UNC.
Finally, there is no service account. If you've changed the account that the SMS_EXECUTIVE is running under, you're are now in a completely unsupported state that will have many issues. If instead you are talking about the Network Access Account, that is
*not* a service account and is *not* used to access content source files.
Once again though, we're simply guessing because no one has any idea what you're doing. Please provide actual, technical details.

The BPF has been given access to the BPFTEAM and also to the user discreetly.
All other steps, like Input SChedule, Report   of the BPF are working.
But when i am clicking the Data Manager step, it is saying that
"THE PACKAGE DOES NOT EXIST OR YOU DO NOT HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO RUN THE PACKAGE"
But after clicking OK to the above message, i can open the package through the Run Data Manager option form the action pane and then run the package
I have given the Data Manage Package access right to the BPF Team throuh EDATA>MANAGE TEAM USER ACCESS.
Please let me know how to go ahead with it.
    Thanks & Regards
