Description of EEWB field displayed in WEB UI

Hi,
We have created a custom an assignment block in WEB UI, as a part of upgrade activity 5.0 to 7.0, in which EEWB fields are displayed. The requirement is to display the description corresponding to the value of that field.
Details are as follows:
After upgrade, from 5.0 to 7.0, the EEWB fields are available in BOL entity BuilHeader as STRUCT.ZZXXXXX.These fields are just moved from "Available Fields" to "Displayed Fields" in Configuration .
Now the requirement is to display the DESCRIPTION associated with the current value of that EEWB field. The table name for the EEWB field is known.
What are different ways to acheive this functionality? Any pointer is appreciated.

Hi
If the field description is not coming as expected in displayed fields, we can edit the description from the Field properties option of that field from the configuration tab.
If this field's description changes need to be applicable in all the components wherever used, we can change the description from the Design layer so that the changes will be replicated wherever the field is used.

The name of the view is V_PC_DOTC_ITM on which we have the records. On each line item there is a description field which is of type (LinkToAction). I want to enable user so that it can change the Description text (I will handle the action). Also, if you have any idea about updating the database table from here as it needs to be updated in BBP_PCPOS table.

Uploading values for an image field in a web app. Nothing displays in layout.

I've uploaded the values (using the import) for a field defined as an image in a web app. When I try to display the field, nothing shows up. The value correctly shows up when I look at Web App items after the upload / import. I've uploaded the same value in a text field, just to learn what was happening, and the text field displays the image just fine when added to the layout.
I would like to use the image field type, as it's easier to correctly create the link when the web app is updated in the future.
Here is what works in the layout: <a href="{tag_link to page}"> <img alt="" class="column66_award_thumb" id="thx" src="{tag_image thumb}" /></a>
Note that {tag_image thumb} is a text field with the link stored in it. The value for each Web App Item which populates this field is a link to the image. (i.e. /Awards/139.jpg)
Here is what I want to work: <a href="{tag_link to page}"> <img alt="" class="column66_award_thumb" id="thx" src="{tag_thumbnail image_value}" /></a> , where {tag_thumbnail image_value} refers to a field defined as an image in the web app. It has the exact same value as {tag_image thumb}. I just copied the field values in the Excel spreadsheet (saved as .csv) when I uploaded it.
It looks like the image field works fine only when I manually create it in the web app. If this is the case, using the upload capability disables any ability to use the image field type.
Is there a workaround for this? Am I missing something?
The page I'm working on is http://www.e-a-a.com/awards When you view the source, you can see that the small thumbnail images are displaying just fine. (I'm using the text field). Whenever I substitute the image field name {tag_thumbnail image}, {tag_thumbnail image_nolink}, or {tag_thumbnail image_value}, the src value is always null.

Hi there,
To do it properly you need to resize the image. Prefably before you put it into BC. While you can for scale the image in CSS you do not want to do this. Why? Because the images are still very big and likely not optimised as they should be for the web.
This means the page with these images will take a very long time to load for people, and people wont be to happy about that viewing your site.
You need to use software such as photoshop if you have it or iphoto on a mac for example to edit, crop and size images before you upload them. If you do not have anything you can use free web based tools such as this one:

You can also do this within BC itself in the file manager. If you click the image you can see options to resize it. The downside of that is that is done by pure math. It does not know what is in the photo and the results can make the image look squished etc.

Display value and description of one field in alv grid

You can do this with "concatenate".
example:
In you code check where you final internal table is getting filled up before that do this concatenate and then append it.
data t_text type string.
t_text = textfield
CONCATENATE 'Xfield'
                 t_text
                  INTO wa_workarea SEPARATED BY space.

Add EEWB Fields Into BP Contacts Screen In Web Ui

                  I added 2 fields through EEWB for the BP relations screen it is working perefectly in the SAP GUI , i need to add these fields Into BP Contacts web ui screen , the problem is if fields data is already present it is working fine , if want to create new one for the contacts it is not setting the field value in web ui what is the problem help me resolve this problem.

We have a webi report based on OLAP universe. We have a requirement to display the locatoins data depending upon user selection of location and radius.
These are the following fields in the WebI report:
Material No. Packaging Component, Manufacturer, Manufacturer Location, State, Country
389 Carton XXXX Delaware City DE USA
389 Insert YYYY Delaware City DE USA
389 Coil ZZZZ Blythewood SC USA
Business wants 4 selection fields:
Required Radius: 50 miles
Location: Delaware City
State: DE
Country: US
when they enter 50 miles and select location Delaware city, they should get all manufactures within the radius of 50 miles to this City.
Output:
Material No. Packaging Component Manufacturer Manufacturer Location State Country
389 Carton XXXX Delaware City DE USA
389 Insert YYYY Delaware City DE USA
How can I achieve this in WebI?
What are the possible options to achieve this in Business Objects?

I am not aware of any specific product, maybe somebody else knows and will be able to advise but every possible source from the web would be different from any other.
If I was in your shoes I would write myself or hire somebody to write a script to pull the data and store them somewhere for then reporting out of them.
This shouldn't be too difficult, as said it only varies depending on what data you need

How to add an input field in the web UI of CRM 2007

Hi everybody.
I want add an Input field in the Web UI Screen. How it is possible.
I want get the information with detailed descriptions if possible with screen shorts.
What type of methods it will be generated and what are the code we entered in those methods.
Take according to any example. But with detailed description.
I am new for the CRM 2007. So, please give the screen shorts with proper data.
Not only adding the field. If any data i entered in the adding field then that will be stored in the tables otherwise no use by adding the field.
So, Can anybody please send a proper information according to this.

If you want to add extra standard fields (like one you mentioned), you can use Component Workbench and Copy the configuration and create your own configuration and make the "Available Fields" appear there.
If the standrd field is not available, you can Add Context Node using wizard and make it visible.
If its a custom field (a new one); you will have to use EEWB and add the fields and then make it visible in the UI using Component Workbench.

How to Change a Default Value from 'High' to 'Low' in a Drop Down Box for RANGE field displayed in Standard Web Dynpro Component. I saw a Default Value set for a RANGE field in View Context When I select that field and click on Display. I am seeing Default Value set it to 'HI'. Please let me know how to change from HIgh to Low.

Error while using new fields added to Web UI through AET

Hi,
I have added three new fields in CRM Web UI of data type 'Numerical' in component BP_ADDR in object ACCOUNT.
But when creating a new account, when I enter a number(say 10) and then press the ENTER key, the number disappears and a zero(0) is displayed in the field.
Now when I again key in the number, it stays and is saved.
Can somebody tell me is there any particular reason for this or while during field generation, I have missed out some entry that needs to be maintained. Please guide me on this.

We have added the following fields: No. of Company Owned Cars, No. of Employees and No. of Employee Owned Cars.
These fields can also be added in some other component, not necessarily BP_ADDR but that does not make any difference.
I have checked that the standard address fields are filled in correctly in the first round of entry itself.
Can you please suggest in which object should we add these fields, BUPA or ACCOUNT?

Wrong description of columns is displayed in PDF view

Issue: I open accoutn plan and clicked on "Print Account Plan" (which will export account plan data into PDF file for printting), from one assignment block the description of column is getting displayed wronglly in print view(ex Last year Amount in Planing block in Account plan, but just "Amount" is displayed in Print View). Please help me on this issue, what could be the issue and what things hould be checked.

Visibility description text form fields in Acrobat Pro

Hi there,
I'm making a lot of forms for a client of mine. The major part I'm doing from indesign CC, but a couple of specific alterations I have to do in Acrobat Pro. There is one thing I can't figure out, lets see if I can describe it correctly;
One of the 'forms' is a certificate clients of my clients will get. In this certificatie is a graphic area in which the account manager, who makes the sell, has to type in the company name of the new client.
So I made a text field for this, but here's the thing:
I'd like to display the description of the field (which is 'Type in company name') visible in the field in acrobat.
1 account manager opens form
2 sees where to type the company name
3 types
4 the description will be invisible with printing
It would be even better if the description tekst becomes invisible after typing, but maybe that's a bridge too far?
Can anyone help me with this or maybe tip me on an alternative?

This is for a text field that you create in Acrobat, whether the form is used offline or online. The script is a custom Format script, which you can place by bringing up the Properties dialog for the field, select the Format tab, set a format category of Custom, and you should see where you can enter the script. Change the string "Instructional text goes here" to the text you want to display when the field is blank.

EEWB fields not showing up in the ET_FIELD_ATTRIBUTE structure of READ meth

Can Spry display another web page within a detail region?

I currently have a non-Spry enabled site I would like to add
Spry to. Basically, it is a story/photo web site and I have
separate pages created already for each photo "event" that includes
text, pictures, etc. Right now I have a menu with all of the
stories that the users clicks on and it takes them to that
particular story. I also use templates to control a common look and
feel and header, but basically, one web page per story (they are
all similar, but varying # of pictures, paragraphs, etc.). It works
fine, but it does reload the web page for every story.
So, what I would like to do is have one region defined where
I have a sorted list of "stories" with dates and brief descriptions
and when a user clicks on one of the stories I would like it to
display the web page I have already created in another
region....kind of like message preview in Outlook. Anyway, I know
it is easy enough to create an XML data set that defines the title
of the story, date, etc., and I could even include a relative link
of the actual web page story in the data set to define where the
web page is. I guess my main question is, how would I display an
entire web page inside the detail div "region"? I know if you just
had a simple picture, it would look something like this: <img
src="images/{@path}"><br/>Name:{@path}, but what tag could
you use to pull in an entire web page to preview inside the detail
div region?

Well I don't know if this is exactly what you're looking for, but you can have a browser window pop up from an event in an applet. If you use something like:
getAppletContext().showDocument(new URL(theUrl), "_blank");
a new browser window will pop up with whatever URL you want.
