Descriptive Flex Field

Hi,
We have created DFF in PO Forms uses MTL_PARAMETERS Table in Test instance. We would like to move it to prod instance. How we can proceed further.

Most sites simply recreate it in the production instance e.g. follow the same steps (you documented) when you did it in test.
There are some commercial products available that do this.

Issue with Supplier site descriptive flex field upgrade from 11i to R12

We ran into some issue when upgrade Supplier site descriptive flex field from 11i to R12.
In 11i. we defined descriptive field on JG_PO_VENDOR_SITES. in the segment definition, we defined one of the attributes default value based on Form Field Value, and the statement is like this:
SELECT decode(:SITE.COUNTRY,'IT','AP ITALIAN TRANSACTIONS','AP AUTOFATTURA') FROM dual
All above worked fine in 11i, whenever the flexfield field is open in forms, the default valuse shows based on the real-time value in :SITE.COUNTRY.
In R12, Supplier site management is in HTML format. There is no forms, which means no form value. Do you have an alternative soluction for implement the same logic in R12?

It seems you have created Address Location DFF in self service in OA Framework.....
I have created a Address Location flex in OA Framework . It dipslays the segments properly but i dont want to display the segments if they dont have any value.
I only want to display segments with values . The segments with null values should not display at all...
i.e , if Address Line 2 value is null , it should not display Address Line 2..
If you have done this, pls let me know how to go abt it.

How to attach a Key Flex Field to Descriptive Flex Field

I would like to know how to attach a Key Flex Field to Descriptive Flex Field(when I click my DFF, I should see my accounting KFF values) using forms personalizations in 11.5.10. It would be great if someone could help me.

I'm not sure what you mean by referring to forms personalization. If your requirement is simply to be able to enter an accounting KFF via a DFF then you need to attach a value set of type 'Special' to your DFF segment. These are much trickier to get right than other value set types so I would suggest some careful reading of the flexug and also taking a look at some of the seeded value sets of this type.

for example :
we have DFF on PO_HEADERS carries some information on the POs i need to import it into OBIA Datawarehouse and RPD
So , anyone have an idea to help me in this ?

Ahmed,
if you dont want to edit any mapping, then you can populate the data into some un-used column in the ETL and change the name of the column in RPD.
Though this is not a good approach, but you can try this.

Changing descriptive flex field value

I have looked and looked through the flexfield functions in the administrative responsibilities and cannot find the field I'm looking for to change the label for a flexfield. The navigation path to get to the flexfield is below:
AR RECEIVABLES MANAGER responsibility > COLLECTIONS > CUSTOMER ACCOUNTS > ENTER CUST # and find > CLICK CUSTOMER BUTTON > CLICK DFF FIELD IN UPPER RIGHT TO VIEW FLEXFIELDS
Can someone tell me how I can find the descriptive flexfield's name (Help->Diagnostics maybe?) and search for this thing to change it? Which fields do I need to search for in which form? I have tried searching everything I know to search.

Let me try to help you.
Why I did was drilled down to DFF in Application Developer Responsibility.
1) Flexfields --> Descriptive --> Register.
2) Query for "Receivables" in Application Field and "Customer Information" in the Title field.
If you wana see the segments for the particular DFF
1) Flexfields --> Descriptive --> Segments.
2) Query for "Receivables" in Application Field and "Customer Information" in the Title field.
3) Segments Button. Before you change the name the segment or add additional segment Uncheck Freeze Flexfield Definition

I want to add descriptive flex fields in RA_CUSTOMER_TRX_LINES_ALL table
but when I go to the Descriptive Flexfiled Segments all the items include title column is disabled.
Please advice me at your earliest convenience.

Is this a PL/SQL and/or SQL question? Or does this relate to some module of the Oracle Applications suite (or one of the other application suites Oracle has purchased, like PeopleSoft or Siebel)?
If you're asking a question about the latter, I'd suggest asking in the appropriate forum for the particular module this table relates to. If you're asking about the former, you'll have to explain what "flex field" means in terms of SQL or PL/SQL...

We are using R12.0.6 and db is 10.2.0.3, Linux OS.
I have checked this Doc ID, which contains following:(below is my checking please)
Solution
1. Follow the Note.877352.1 instructions carefully;
2. Apply the patch 8626820:R12.JG.A;
3. For packages OKL_... and ICX_ ... please now follow Note.754340.1;
4. For the FV_... and FUN_.... please follow Note.758497.1;
5. For the GR_MIGRATE_TO_12 now follow the Note.733646.1;
(for note's step 5 about patch 6997324 open an SR with Support if you require a password)
6. Finally, to drop the view called ICX_PO_VENDOR_SITES_V, just execute in a SQL*plus (user APPS) session: drop view ICX_PO_VENDOR_SITES_V;
My Checking: (I have checked the file version mentioned in below patches also, having same versions of already applied patches)
1: I have check the patch# 8348599 mentioned in 877352.1 not already applied, so should I apply it?
2: I have check the patch# 8626820 mentioned in step#2 not already applied, so should I apply it?
3: I have check the doc id 754340.1 which containg the following patches:

Getting error in Trail Balance Report's accounting flex field values

whenever run the Trail Balance program I am getting some error in Accountng Flex Field value for particular account or transaction.Actually I am not able to find excat error in report why it came. plz tell me how to identify and how to check from backend table's link. Defaulting the mandatory field to space in a flex field - Urgent...

Hi ,
I have a flex field which is used to render address based on the country selected ( Country is an LOV..)
The flex field details are.
Appl Short Name: AR
Name: Remit Address HZ
Type: descriptive
Address Line 1 is mandatory in the flex field configuration.
My requirement is to default the Address Line 1 with space which I am doing by setting the vo.setAddressLine1(" ")
once the VO is initialized and in the screen Address Line 1 is getting defaulted to space.
But if the user removes the space in it and tabs out, even then I have to default the Address Line 1 with space.
(i.e. if Address Line 1 is null then I have to default it to space)
But as it is a flex field it does not have any Action Type. How can I default it if the user makes the field null..
I tried in the VORowImpl to set the value to space if it is null but it is not working...

When the user makes this field as null and clicks on Apply button, the form validation appears saying the field

How do I align a flex field segment using personalizations?

This is my first attempt at an OAF form personalization. I added three DFF segments (read only) to the requisition headers portion of the iProcurement requisitions form. I'll do my best here to try and show what has happened, I hope this will maintain the formatting. So column on the left side of the form looks like this:
                  Description:   This is a test
                  Created by:    Me
               Creation Date:   03-DEC-2013
Confirming Order: Yes
Capital Expense: No
                     Deliver to:   Test
So, you can see that the two flexfield segments, Confirming Order and Capital Expense are way over to the left and not aligning with the rest of the fields.   I'm wondering if someone can tell me how to get those to line up with the rest of the form fields. I have the same issue with a third flexfield segment n the right side of the form. The other fields in the column are Message Styled Text. And if I add a field that is of that type it will line up.   Although, when using that type of field or the flex field, I have to set the CSS style, it doesn't automatically inherit it as I thought it would. I did a view source to see what it was on the other fields then filled that in for the CSS Class for the field I had created. So, I must be missing something else here for these not to line up. Any guidance is appreciated. Thanks.

yes i have used template.fmb only , and am using FND_KEY_FLEX.DEFINE as i mentioned earlier ,
i have not given any where clause -- should we give any where clause to retrieve the data into the combinations(LOV)?It depends on what values you want to retrieve.
i mean my requirement is if i give % and press tab all the valid combinations should be displayed.
its showing no entries found.Did you review 420787.1 referenced above?

How to add an extra columns to accounting flex field value sets

I am working on report customization for standard Account Analysis (180 Char) report. Requirement is to show a column "Parent" in Flex field value set .
Currently its showing columns as Account, description
i need to add parent column
i can not modify segment value sets as they are attached to accounting flex fields
so is there any other way i can achieve thie

If it would help your company to be able to change the accounting flexfield and value sets, I might be able to help. there is software to do this on the market. Sometimes when companies need to develop complex reporting, it's a sign that the chart of accounts, the AFF is obsolete, and it makes sense to change it rather than work around it.

Personalize Flex : Descriptive Flex ... in HRSS

I need your help.
In extra information of employee for HRSS, we have assigned personlaized Personalize Flex : Descriptive Flex ... by specifiying a segment value of EIT (employee loan request). When we press add to use this extra information, on next page again type field is available, which contains all the EIT available to that responsibility and user can selelct anone EIT to proceed.
I need to make read only this field, or this fheid should not display. only the field of this extra information (employee loan request should be available)

Hi Muhammad,
When you are personalizing the EIT you need to personalize the segments against the page.That means you need to personalize the segment in the each page. Then only you will not be able to see those segments. I faced this problem in my one of project and resolved by personalizing each page.
