Design confusion

hi, I've been writing this program for a while now and its starting to get a bit confusing. In one class I have three functions - one for retrieving an integer, one for retrieving a string and another for retrieving a coordinate from a file but I don't know how I should throw the Exceptions:
   public int getInteger(String content, int fromIndex) throws Exception {
      int integer = 0;
      int index1 = content.indexOf('(', fromIndex),
          index2 = content.indexOf(')', fromIndex);
      if(index1 > 0 && index2 > 0) {
         try {
            integer = Integer.parseInt(content.substring(index1+1, index2));
         } catch(NumberFormatException e) {
            throw new NumberFormatException();
      } else { throw new IndexException(); }
      return integer;
   }this extracts the first integer in brackets (int) from a string but I want to put this method in a try block evertime I call it and catch the exceptions that occur. My two questions are:
can you throw an integer (like in c++) with java?
and
will the NumberFormatException be thrown even if I don't catch it and then throw it because you can call the parseInt method without placing it in a try block.

the IndexException was just to identify what exception occurred - its just an empy class that extends Exception. that why I was asking if i could just throw an integer value like in c++:
// exceptions
#include <iostream>
using namespace std;
int main () {
  try
    throw 20;
  catch (int e)
    cout << "An exception occurred. Exception Nr. " << e << endl;
  return 0;
}I don't know if it is forbidden to post c++ code in a java forum but i've done it anyway.
thats from the c++ language tutorial:
http://www.cplusplus.com/doc/tutorial/exceptions.html
I basically want to know wheter the number between the brackets was an invalid integer or if the string contained the brackets in the first place.
what were you meaning about overdoing the exceptions? what other way could I do it.

  • Printing design confusion.

    hello adobe forumers.
    im confused to the max cos im new to the printing industry,im afraid to get jobs that require printing cos i get confused wiht the pixels and resolution.
    any pro advise would be appreciated.
    if im asked to do a banner that is 4meters tall by 4meters width which is more than 30,000pixels.to put a photo which is 40cm hight and 65cm wide 300resoltion,how is it possible for me to scale it to fit the canvas which is enourmous with out the picture blowing to bits,when scaled to 100%?if i scaled the photo to fit the canvas would it pixelate to the maximum?anyone got any link tutorials i can catch up on?
    whats size photo or picture would be appropriate?
    sorry for seeming so low i.q but im into web stuff :-P
    thanks.

    so the thing is that it doesnt matter if the photo is 300dpi,the photo must also be large in size in order to be scaled to the required banner your saying?
    e.i the banner is 4meters by 4 meters and the photo is 30cm by 40cm 300resolution if the photo would have to fit the canvas which would be 400cm x 400cm it would be more essential and a great help is the photo size would of been way bigger lets say 1m by 1m?that would reduce the chance of pixelating during print?
    thank you.

  • Data loading at different levels

    We are using Oracle 10g and AWM 10.2 tools to re-write the current Oracle Express application. We have created couple of standard cubes in AWM and it works fine. The design confusion is in one of the case. It is explained below
    We are planning to load targets into one of our AW.
    Following are the details
    Dimensions hierarchy
    1. Time Year==> quarter==> Month
    2. Point Of Sale(POS) Worldwide ==> Region ==> Country ==> Territory
    3. Origin Worldwide ==> Country ==> Territory ==> City
    4. Destination Worldwide ==> Country ==> Territory ==> City
    Measure
    rev_tgt
    The challenge is, the target are set in the warehouse at different Point Of Sale levels. i.e. For some POS the targets are set at country level, for some they are set at territory levels. e.g. For India the revenue targets are set only at country level where as for France the targets are set at all the territories of France. The requirement is to show targets at all the levels in the POS above where it is set. The bottom line is that the data is not availble at a fixed level and the dimesion levels are fixed and cannot be ragged.
    Query:
    How we can design a cube that loads data at different levels and then aggregate the same across all dimension including the higher level of POS dimension.
    Solution in the existing Oracle Express
    In the current Oracle Express, what we are doing is since we have control over the aggregate program, we have created two aggmaps one with POS and one without. We do two step aggregate for the first one we limit the POS to country level and do a rollup using the aggmap that includes POS. Then we limit POS to all and aggregate using the aggmap without POS.
    Can you please assist us on how to implement the above with the AWs.

  • ASE for Solaris x86

    I really need a developers edition of ASE for Solaris x86. The current versions that are available are only for Linux or Windows. Is there anywhere I can get the Solaris x86 version??

    You haven't mentioned which ASE version you're looking for so I'm going to assume a newer/recent version of ASE 15.7 is sufficient ...
    For quite awhile now all ASE downloads (IR, GA, EBF, SPxxx) have contained the entire code line (ie, you don't have to find a GA release and then apply a smaller/delta ebf patch file to get the latest version).
    If you've got access to the EBF downloads @ sybase.com you should be able to download a recent copy of ASE 15.7 for Solaris/x86.  During installation just pick the developer license version (the install will generate a generic *lic file for the developers version).
    While there may be a way to download the file from the SAP website(s), I wouldn't have a clue since a) the SAP websites are poorly-designed/confusing and b) SAP is clamping down pretty hard on what Sybase related downloads are available and to whom.

  • The design of this website is confusing and hard to use.

    Adobe are regarded as the industry standard of design software, so it seems ironic (or embarrassing) that this website is so poorly designed. I came here simply wanting to post a question about Flash Player but found it the whole experience to be confusing, bewildering and frustrating.
    I will list my ten major criticisms below:
    1. ILLEGIBLE FONTS
    Many of the site's styles (eg discussion titles) use horribly small fonts, to the point of being illegible and nauseating at normal viewing distance. I have to lean forwards towards the screen to read it. I have never had this issue with any other site I visit. The font used is not a screen font and is simply not suitable for being displayed at that size and looks quite ugly (eg lower case 'e' has no hole). In addition, some of the styles use almost illegible colors (eg gray on lighter gray). This kind of "minuscule" typography might be perfect for a small space (eg application control panels), but for a website displayed on a modern computer monitor (at least 1920 pixels wide) it is totally inappropriate. And my monitor is large, I dread to think how small the text would look on a small screen.
    2. UNCOMFORTABLE LAYOUT
    The layout spans the whole width of the screen, making it very uncomfortable to use the site. All the important elements are aligned either to the left or the right of the screen, with a vast gap in the middle, meaning that one has to constantly dart one's eyes (or neck) back and forth, which is made even worse by the small font size which requires a person to "move in" towards the screen.
    3. LACK OF PAGE TITLES
    To add to the sense of disorientation, many of the key pages don't have a title, so you simply do not know where you are or what you are looking at. For example if you go to the main list of all the communities (forums.adobe.com/places), there is no title; nothing to tell you what you are looking at. Likewise, if you do a search, there is no title (eg "Search results"). Having titles at the top of pages is fundamental to web design so people don't get confused about where they are.
    4. THE "FORUMS" DON'T LOOK LIKE FORUMS
    I was brought to the "Using Flash Player" page by an external link, and when I arrived I was just totally confused about where I was and what I was looking at. The page title "Using Flash Player" didn't tell me I was in a discussion community. The page is littered with so many different links and features it is hard to know where to look and what the purpose of the page is. The page does not have a sense of being a discussion forum. I expect a discussion forum to have the word "discussion" somewhere at the top, with a list of threads and information such as last post, replies, views, as well as a way to see how many threads there are in that forum and a way to navigate between pages and see older threads. Not to mention all the strange buttons which I will mention in my next point…
    5. MYSTERIOUS BUTTONS
    A good website uses terminology and controls that people recognize and understand. But all the buttons on this site are strange. At the top of each discussion forum we have "Overview", "Content", "People", "Sub-communities" and "Follow". I can honestly say I have no idea what any of those mean or do (with the exception of "Sub-communities"). Websites should use clear, unambiguous language so that people know what the controls do and are not clicking on the "unknown". If your site does have unconventional controls that people are not going to be familiar with, you should have tooltip popups which explain, to make it easy for newcomers. I have clicked on those strange buttons but on the whole I have not been able to work out what they do. The "People" button would seem to be a way of finding users/members but surely that is a rare function and it should be at the foot of the page not in a prominent location? Likewise when you do a search, you must choose whether to search for "Content", "People" or "Communities". Most people will have no idea what the first two of these options mean, I certainly don't. It's just a very weird site.
    6. INCONSISTENT LAYOUT
    Another confusing thing is that there seem to be as many page layouts as there are pages! Every different page I have been to has no common elements or common menus, everything changes. Even different community pages have different features and different layouts. This leaves you feeling totally disoriented. A website's basic controls and menus should not keep shifting around, it leaves the user with no sense of continuity; it cripples their understanding of how the site functions; and it prohibits them from distinguishing between a page's controls and its content, since both keep changing around.
    7. BUGGY
    I am less critical of bugs because I know that inevitably they happen, and likewise will inevitably be resolved. But in my brief time using the forums I came across plenty of bugs, two are on the main welcome page:
    A) First of all, a pop-up box appears which says "Say Something" inviting me to click on the pencil icon. I then click on the pencil icon and another box appears with options. However, the "Say Something" box is still there and it obscures the box below it. You can't click on it, so you have to click off both boxes, then the "Say Something" box is active again, then you can click on the small "skip" button, and then finally you can click on the pencil icon again and see what was there all along. Not a serious bug, but clumsy.
    B) Also on the welcome screen there is a link at the top which says "New to the community? Check out our guidelines". I didn't hesitate to click on this because by this point I felt totally lost and confused and wanted all the help I could get. I clicked on that button and it took me to a page called Community Guidelines. I clicked on the first link ("Find answers to questions") which took me to an error page ("Unauthorized. Access to this community or content is restricted. If you think this is a mistake, please contact your administrator or the person who directed you here.
    8. TERMS AND CONDITIONS
    Finally, the terms and conditions upon signing up are unreasonably long, to the point of being prohibitive. If someone is having a problem with their software, they don't want to have to spend hours reading through terms and conditions before they can even get to ask a question. It is completely out of order to force people to read all those terms and conditions, and especially forcing people to re-read the whole thing any time there is an update. It is simply laziness on the part of the admin. They could carefully go through the terms and conditions and identify the key elements which have been changed and provide the user with a neat summary, thus saving thousands of people many hours of reading. When I take out a mortgage on a house, I have terms and conditions to read, and I expect there to be a lot. But when I simply want to sign up to a discussion forum, I do not expect a similar level of terms and conditions. People can go to, say, Yahoo or Google or YouTube and discuss these issues freely without having to read any terms and conditions at all. By putting up all these barriers you are just turning people away.
    9. IDENTITY CRISIS
    Finally (and in conclusion) I would say that the site doesn't seem to know why it exists: whether it is aimed at helping the general public or amusing technology lovers?
    I would have expected a site like this to be aimed at the general public, since it is promoted as a help resource by Adobe, and covers a very wide range of products, meaning that a very large and wide range of people should be expected to visit it.
    However, the site gives the opposite impression. It has what I would call a steep "learning curve", with complex page layouts, full of unconventional controls and features, as well as the emphasis on community. This would all seem to suggest it is more of an exclusive site aimed more at techy people who want to "hang out" here and become regular users. I feel it is excluding laypeople and casual visitors who are simply seeking quick help.
    To put it another way, the design of the site seems to be geared much more towards its regular users than those the site is supposedly trying to "help".
    If you want a good example of a good, clean, elegant design that is easy to use, go to www.google.com you will notice that the controls are simple and easy: the eye is immediately drawn to the central part of the screen where the main controls are and there are only two buttons. Then if you want to see more advanced features you can go to the smaller controls which are tucked away in the top right corner and do not distract anyone.

    Many of your points are totally legitimate.
    This one, however, is not:
    …To put it another way, the design of the site seems to be geared much more towards its regular users than those the site is supposedly trying to "help"…
    The design and management of the forums for more than five years have driven literally dozens of the most valuable contributors and "regulars" away from the forums—permanently.
    The only conclusion a prudent, reasonable person can draw from this state of affairs is that Adobe consciously and deliberately want to kill these forums by attrition—without a the PR hit they would otherwise take if they suddenly just shut them down.

  • Confused about Designer ES vs full suite...

    Hi,
    I've been trying to figure this our myself by researching all of the available documentation, but I am getting very confused by all of the different products, capabilities and installation/deployment requirements.  I need to determine if we need to purchase the full ES suite and establish a J2EE application server on Windows 2003 Server, or can we just use Designer ES on our Windows XP workstations to create PDF forms that our clients can open and modify using Adobe Reader.
    For our project (Canadian Government department), we simply want to have dynamic PDF forms that can be populated with data from our Oracle database, and then let the user enter additional information and get this data back into the database.  Also, we would like to do some fairly simple scripting like enabling/disabling form areas depending on data entered by the user.  Sometimes our clients will be connected to our network and sometimes they will not be connected.
    I love all of the features that ES can do, I just don't think we're going to be able to get a J2EE application server approved and installed for our project.  This department is Microsoft.NET based and not Java.
    What things can be done without involving a J2EE application server?  Can we have dynamic forms and 2-way data exchange?  Can we use Flex to create RIAs (i.e. Form Guides) from our forms that we can deploy to users?
    Thank you in advance,
    Dave

    Thank you for the info.  After researching some more, I see there is a new version (ES2) coming available "before the end of 2009":
    http://www.adobe.com/aboutadobe/pressroom/pressreleases/200910/AdobeUnveilsLiveCycleEnterp riseSuite2.html
    Also, the description of "Designer ES2" seems quite capable of doing what we need:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/livecycle/designer/capabilities/
    I will just have to wait until there is a trial download available to see if we'll require a J2EE server.  I'm hoping we can just have Designer on our XP machines for creating PDF Forms (and maybe Flex form-guide applications), and our clients just need Reader 9 for entering the data and sending them back to us.

  • Can I say one thing? The design of 3D is too confused!!! I know the drawing 3D and this new tools in Photoshop aren't simple, it's too difficult to understand

    Can I say one thing? The design of 3D is too confused!!! I know the drawing 3D and this new tools in Photoshop aren't simple, it's too difficult to understand

    Photoshop's GUI for the 3d functionality has always been a bit of a bust. And slow, cumbersome, hard to control. Rendering quality remains a major headache (and slow as a snail crawling through mud). Texturing is a hassle, and the 3d viewport one of the worst implementations I have ever encountered.
    Which is why I have always avoided it, and I prefer 3d applications such as Blender, Cinema4d, Max, Lightwave, and so on, for quality work. The 3d functionality in Photoshop is adequate for relatively simple 3d typography, and simple shapes. But even for that type of work I avoided Photoshop.

  • Consider Adobe design software mergence to eliminate design workflow confusion

    Hello! Recently, I start to use Adobe Indesign to design print material, then I found it is much superior than Adobe Illustrator from some aspects(such as functionality,typography,long document,dynamic and organic text style,table,crossmedia and etc.)except some AI features like advanced vector shape drawing tools, but both software similar at interface,commands and operation, so I wonder whether Adobe will consider and is it possible to merge Adobe InDesign and Illustrator to eliminate software collaborative operation gap and confusion, of course, other softwares like Adobe Photoshop and Fireworks, Adobe Incopy and Contribute. that's just my personal suggestion, I found I have to learn so many softwares to achieve a goal which cause me a heavy burden and great focus on it, thats it. Thank you!

    I would rather so-called "bloated" but more integrated design software than several splited software seriously focusing on different kind of jobs. Let me clarify I am not saying merge InDesign and Photoshop, thats insane. I am talking about InDesign and Illustrator. As they both share some same codes, also similar at some same commands, interface and job role. For example, both of them can design name card, postcard, brochure, package. But in their own way. That means I have to remember and compare two kinds of ways to do one job. So I think if the Adobe Creative Team can well-manage and well-organize every module component of the software, thats not big problem at present computer hardware capability, I believe most people can handle it, just how much time does it cost to you. Thank you!
    And Microsoft is doing more and more well in computer design software.

  • Confused Re: Responsive Design Layout

    It appears that I missed the change in Dreamweaver's layouts in my recent upgrades. I used to be able to choose php, and I could then choose between single-column, one or two sidebars, with or without headers and footers, fixed, liquid, etc.
    Now I have Dreamweaver CC, and I can only choose one or two sidebars / fixed width. If I opt for a Fluid Grid Layout instead, there are no options for headers, footers or sidebars - and it apparently doesn't work with PHP. If I change the extension from .html to .php, then I can't write PHP code in it. (The PHP tags aren't highlighted red, at least.
    So I'm thoroughly confused.
    I have several websites with a variety of page types. I started experimenting with responsive design some time ago and generally have the hang of it, but I'd like to start fresh with a new layout, which will hopefully fix a few problems. All of my pages have a header and footer. Most have just one column or one sidebar (usually right), but a few have two sidebars.
    Anyway, can anyone suggest some good layouts to get me started? (I'm using a Mac with Mavericks and MAMP.)

    Wow, Bootstrap looks interesting, though maybe a little intense; kind of like Drupal.
    In fact, I've been thinking about upgrading to WordPress or Drupal one of these days, but it looks like Bootstrap does a lot of the things they do.
    Bootstrap is just a responsive framework unlike Wordpress and Drupal which are first and foremost Content Management Systems where developers produce 'template themes' - most now responsive.
    Bootstrap as far as I'm aware is not a CMS.
    If you want good looking out of the box design themes then dive into Wordpress it might be for you. Personally I don't like the bloat you get with it and the code either.

  • Confusion about observer design pattern

    Hi all,
    I have a case related to observer design pattern and I feel a bit confusion.
    Suppose there is a gui class which consists of 2 buttons connect and disconnect to the network and a socket class handling these two operations. Then socket class will inform the gui class if the operation is success or not. By applying the observer design pattern. gui class is observer and socket class is obserable. however I feel confusion as observer will send a command e.g. connect to observable.

  • RF confuses me as a web designer

    It is meant to visually layout web pages for multiple devices using css and html, but you can't output the layouts into html or css and the code it does create can only be viewed correctly in chrome which most of the people that come to the websites I develop are using IE or Firefox, some use chrome but not as many as IE or FF.
    I like the visual layout aspect of creating the css and doing the media queries but I can't wrap my head around the usefulness of this tool for me if I can't actually export or have the code it creates actually work in browsers outside of chrome.
    I do understand the logic behind this software and who you are targeting this for.  It would make things a lot easier if instead of wrapping into a proprietary format the output is just straight html and css assetts.  That would solve the issue between those designers and developers that would take the files and import them into other software adobes or 3rd parties and make it easy to actually work with the end result.
    I have been using MUSE as it is simple to work with the output but it creates 3 seperate versions of the site where RF just uses media queiries and you have one site and no duplication or little of assetts.
    Though like I said, RF really confuses me because it looks nice and you can do neat things with it EXCEPT actually use the designs you create as they don't work in anything outside of chrome.
    I am waiting on the full version non preview release because I would use this all the time if I can actually have my designs work on the full web, as of now it is nice eye candy but I don't personally see any real use for this other than maybe a PR build up for the Creative Cloud.
    If there is an actual way to use this software let me know because it really confuses me right now.  I can't export my designs and I can't put them on the web because they don't work except in chrome.  I don't see a use for this software for any practical web design use.  Teach me how to do this if it is possible, please.
    Thank you.

    I've just been looking at RF as learning more about responsive design is something I've had on my to do list for a while.
    As far as I can tell, with RF, once you preview the project in Chrome, it generates HTML and CSS files in the projects Assets folder.
    So I assume the workflow is:
    1. Do a mockup of your layout in RF, creating the rough layouts for the difference sizes / devices.
    2. Preview in Chrome.
    3. When you're happy with it, pick up the HTML and CSS that gets generated as the bare bones layout in Dreamweaver and go from there.
    I've pretty much just used DW for years, and have sometimes thought it a little confusing over the last few years with Adobe releasing quite a lot of lower key programs and services, not helped with them changing names along the way.
    But I get the impression its all starting to come together now with the Edge stuff, and that really they are optional tools to support DW, that help out with a very specific task. In the case of RF, just getting the initial responsive layout sketched out.

  • I am confused its all too technical and non design oriented

    What is Flash Builder, Burrito, Catalyst. Panini - I have used Flash for years and want to create iPad Apps with the technology. I am not a programmer so want to use premade components. All the documentation is confusing and obviously written by engineers - it leaves me more clueless than before. Is there any where I can just get an overall picture of what to do and what to use in what order to achieve a simple throw - nav type App with each screen of content being an interactive page of a childrens book.
    I am making the seperate pages in Flash but need to put them all together in a wrapper to make a system that works. I saw something about a throw nav in the Burrito tech page but have no clue how to get it working. I also want to style the look of look of the whole thing, not use the default graphics.
    I am going to Refresh in Melbourne on Thursday and hope that this time the presenters will demonstrate more slowly and speak English not GEEK.
    Can anyone demytify this whole process and is there anywhere that its explained so us "dumb" designers can understand. Yes I  can write simple code and get around Flash as I used it for years in my job as a mulitmedia designer but I need some help understanding what all these bits do and how to use them. Where is this mystical place where you just drag stuff out a library and use it to create the interface- seems to me from what I have seen in online tutorials you need to create reams and reams of code
    Do I first use catalyst or burrito, then what? Do I take it to Flash to Package? I have signed up with Lynda and watched the training on Burrito but it all makes it as clear as mud. Seems like if you want to use Flash and the other bits you need a degree in programming - what happened to it being more designer friendly?

    Hello. I am on the other end of the spectrum, vast knowledge in coding but very poor UI skills. My background is almost exclusively Microsoft making it a bit more challenging. Being brand new to Flash Builder but having used Flash 8 a bit I have learned that they really upped the coding knowledge requirements. For example on the button click event  one just gets a click event listener as opposed to a code wizard from flash that normally will do the work.
    I've taught remedial programming at a business college in the past and if I had any advice it would be to commit yourself to learning some beginner coding.
    For this particular product I would focus on strings, objects, events and methods. I have found some free Flash Builder ebooks searching google books or other online free ebook sites. Most of the non-google sites will allow you to download a complete PDF file.  There is much more Flexbuilder 3 content out there than Flash Builder but Flexbuilder 3 is very similar and will help.
    At the end of the day, most of today's RIA tools (Flash Builder, Silverlight etc) are going to require both knowledge in design and coding.

  • An old web designer who's confused...

    Hi all,
    I'm a long-time web and graphic designer, having started when
    Flash was in version 2 and Dreamweaver wasn't even thought
    possible. Pixel spacers and nested tables were (and actually, still
    are!) my basic method of site build.
    Now that I've installed CS4, my world's a bit upside-down...
    no more ImageReady, and everything is CSS based. I know CSS is now
    a necessity (I understand the text styling side of it)... but as
    for layouts...
    Can someone confirm this process for me? I believe now things
    go:
    1. design website in Photoshop, present to client as single
    image
    2. take design into Fireworks and create slices (as per
    ImageReady) and ALSO set up CSS
    3. take HTML file and... do something with it in Dreamweaver.
    So what is Dreamweaver used for now? Can Fireworks be used to
    CSS code the entire site? At what point in the process do you set
    up the overall site structure (traditionally I just work with
    single pages)?
    This is one of the toughest transitions I've gone through in
    my career. I suppose I want to get the basics right before I throw
    myself into the tutorials.
    Many thanks!

    Things are much improved in CS4, however - for example -
    symbols and
    grouped objects will be flattened when you save as PSD -
    simply because
    PS can't understand the assets. You would have to ungroup
    groups to keep
    the elements editable, and break apart symbols. Likewise, PS
    has no
    comparable feature to Pages, so you will need to export each
    page as a
    separate PSD file.
    Vector shapes, vector and bitmap masks, and text are all
    editible within
    PS (CS3 and CS4). Certain vector fills and blend modes and
    some styles
    will not transfer over to PS either, because the effect
    doesn't exist in PS.
    Remember these two applications are not the same. If they
    were, there
    wouldn't be a need for both, so certain things - at this
    point anyway -
    just won't translate going from FW to PS. For what it's
    worth, IMO that
    is a problem on the PS side, not FW. PS still cannot open an
    FW PNG file
    without flattening the entire document. The FW engineers have
    worked
    VERY hard to improve integration when importing PSD's into
    FW, however.
    Many updates have been made to ensure that a PSD design
    opened in FW
    looks much as it does in PS.
    I have no idea how the file will be handled in IR.

  • Confused on how to design a web

    ok, I have been reading this thick book, Dreamweaver CS5.5 the missing manual. I am on chapter 4. Got through the first chapter and managed to create a web page from the excerise material. Now I want to at least make a simple webpage for giggles. I am stuck on where begin. I got some images for a simple page, but i am noticing that I want to design my page in DW. I cant seem to put down on the screen and make it look like something I would want to click on. Do I design in photoshop and bring in most of my work? help.

    Do I design in photoshop and bring in most of my work?
    You could begin with a design comp from Fireworks or Photoshop, but save for web as images only.  Don't pretend that a graphics app can generate decent HTML & CSS code for you.  It won't.
    I prefer to make a rough paper & pencil sketch of my page layout with a few quick notes about my page width (%, em or px),  fonts/colors, backgrounds, etc...
    Then I create (or find) a pre-built CSS Layout that contains all the divisions and columns I will need for the project.   See links below.   From there I can quickly insert my prepared images and semantic text into the HTML document.
