Design Help (XML Messaging)

I have a situation where a client (c program) that I have no control over needs to send an XML message to a remote server (java program). I'm looking at two options, using SOAP or possibly using JMS (something like Websphere MQ).
Using SOAP I'd have to use SAAJ and not something like Axis, since Axis uses JAX-RPC and the c program wouldn't be able to use this protocol? Or can I use JAX-RPC on the java end and not care about what the c program is using? Does anyone know how this works with synchronous communication?
The reason I'm looking at JMS is that I need to be able to guarantee that no data will be lost. Using something like Websphere MQ I can queue up messages so that if the server goes down the messages get processed when the server comes back up again.
The two most important things for me are reliability and performance. It's likely that the amount and size of the XML messages sent will be large.
So can anyone help me decide what's the best design? Any other options?

The "best" design would be the one that conforms with
the way your unchangeable client actually works.
Setting up something that it couldn't communicate with
wouldn't be "best" in my opinion.They haven't developed it yet. I need to tell them what do to, that is, whether to use SOAP or some JMS based messaging service.

Help required download JAXM package (javax.xml.messaging.* pkg not found)

With an intention to sun some sample programmes for JAXM, I have downloaded "JavaTM Web Services Developer Pack 2.0" from Sun's website, but unfortunately I couldn't find the package javax.xml.messaging. Can someone help findout where's this package available ?

The jar file jaxm-api.jar contains the package javax.xml.messaging.
Make sure you have correctly set it to your classapth.

The above XML message is receieved by our oracle queue.Once the message is receieved to our queue.
We have to process the message according to the action(UPDATE ADD DELETE).
From this message we have to process only 3 fields (geo sku lead_time).
These three feilds data should be processed into the SKU_LEAD_TIME table based on the action.
Req1:
IF the action is update then the records should be updated in the "LEAD_TIME_TABLE" table
IF the action is update then the records should be updated in the "LEAD_TIME_TABLE" table

BPM error : Message pipeline PE_ADAPTER unknown XML message not found. Help

Hello All,
I have done 3 steps in BPM
RFC --- BPM --- RFC
RECEIVE step ==> Opens SYNCH ASYNCH bridge and receives RFC request message
SEND synchronous ==> to send RFC request and get the RFC response.
SEND ==> Closes SYNCH ASYNCH bridge and Send's response back to the RFC.
In my last send step (response back) I am getting message
"Message pipeline PE_ADAPTER unknown XML message not found" .

I'm having some trouble implementing a XML Message Body Selector in an automated task. I'm running OSM 7.2.0.7 in a Unix environment and using Design Studio 7.2.1.

Could you confirm on below:
1 ) Are you using multiple automation plug-in external event receivers in the same automation task ?
2 ) And are you having the default Correlation Message property set to 'JSMCorrelationID' in external event receiver?
If your answer for the first question is No, they i would suggest to use Correlation XML Body as
*[local-name() ='Response']/*[local-name()='Header']/*[local-name()='application']
The value of the field(application) in request must match the value of the field in response, in your case it is matching. And you will be reading this correlation id in response processing xquery.

For the Business Rule Engine I did the Carrental XML example. Based on the java application that connects to the BR engine, I created a webservice in jDeveloper and deployed it to my localhost AS 10.1.3. The webservice has a testRule method that accepts a String buf as input. For now, the only thing the webservice does is return a 'do nothing' string. This works fine:

I have deployed my bpel. My receiveInputVariable is of type xsd:string.
So when i run the bpel in my console, i will be asked to give input as string data.
So when i go to the XMLView, it will be like this.

File is picked up but never show the XML message in SXMB_MONI

All,
I am working on the file to SAP integration scenario issue. High level interface design is,
File Adapter picks the file from XI application server and send the data to SAP Application system(in this case ECC) to post data as per the business requirement. The scenario is working perfect since long time and we don't have any issues as yesterday.
This morning, I noticed File adapter picks the file and moved the file to archive folder (based on settings in communication channel) but XML message never shown in SXMB_MONI. I had a look into the RWB to check status of the communication channel. every thing looks fine from communication channel monitoring.
Did any one come across this scenario? What else to be checked to move forward on this issue?

Hi Kumar,
The error message indicates the URL the adapter engine is using to send the data to the integration engine is wrong. The last part of it has somehow become truncated: "type=ent" should read "type=entry".
In the SLD lookup the XI technical system, under the integration tab check the setting for the "Pipeline URL" field, you should see something like: http://HOST:PORT/sap/xi/engine?type=entry if not, you can correct it.
Then go to the XI ABAP client using SAPGUI and in transaction: SXMB_ADM, option "Integration Engine Configuration", check that Corresponding Integ. Server has the same URL, if it has something of the sort of: "dest://...." check in transaction SM59 for that RFC destination name, it should have the correct URL. Also in the specific configuration (using the same transaction), check the RUNTIME->IS_URL parameter value.

Hi all,
i need you your help in enhancing one existing BPM.
the initial state was
file sys-> BPM -> sap R3 (system A) and also sap R3 (system B)
where the BPM is --> recv > sync send(A)->send(B)
file sys send ONE vendor_key in xml format to BPM.
now sysnc send is conected to R3 A through a RFC_A, which send one key field to RFC_A and get the whole record of a Z-table
through that very RFC_A
this whole record is then sent to another RFC_B thorugh send(B), which update a Z-table in the second sap system B.
if the picture is clear, then the requirement is that:
this time i have to design a BPM which will receive one xml file from file-sys, in which there will be multiple vendor key
instead of one.
the xml message must undergo 1:n transformation in bpm to craete xml messages containing one vendo key each.then parallely calling RFC_a with vendor key , get the reponse record from system R3 A, and call RFC_B to send the record to system R3 B.

Please go through the design we made for a bank interface.
- We had generated IDOC XML file, configured partner profiles for the same.
- These IDOC files were sent to the XI systems where where ISO XML files were generated.
- These ISO XML's were in sync with the banks ISO XML.
- They are received from the Banks side and the data is further processed by the banks SAP system.

XML message with no matching workflow instance

I have a JMS application that sends XML messages to WLPI. I want to ask:
1. what will happen to the XML message if it doesn't match any workflow instance?
2. is there a way for the JMS application to know that the XML message didn't
match any workflow instance?

If the message doesn't match any template instance, then the message is sent to
the WLI_FailedEvent queue. However, if the xml doesn't find a template because
it failed the "condition" of any start node, then the message is consumed by that
template -- but the message disappears. :-( I opened a ticket on that one because
I thought that I should still be notified, but BEA confirmed that that is designed
behavior. This is for WLI 7.0

Unable to Execute a Report to send PAN XML messages out of SNC

Hi All,
We are unable to Execute a Report /SCA/DM_TIMESERIES_OUT to send Product Activity Notifications in the form of XML messages out of SNC. We have manitained some Planned Reciepts data in SNC and would like to transfer it out to ECC.
Could anyone help in understanding if we have to maintain mandatory settings before executing this report.

As per the documentation(http://help.sap.com/saphelp_snc70/helpdata/EN/48/6bdb4767a431cbe10000000a42189d/frameset.htm), we have tried both the manual and automatic features to configure the output from SNC in the form of XML messages.
The manual method gave a message "Time series data for selection is empty" and the Automated method could trigger the XML messages on every incoming message from ECC but we are unable to see the Planned Receipts in that XML messages.
Was just wondering if we can see the Planned Receipt info by changing the settings of this report or by using any other simillar report as the PR info is very important for our development.

View is not retuning data when creating XML message through workflow

Hi All,
This is a very critical problem for me. I am trying to send an XML message (outbound) through XML gateway. This is done from a custom workflow. The message creation is done from the standard procedure ecx_document.sendDirect. The data for the XML file is taken from two views (whcih are created in a custom schema and have synonym in apps). One view for header and another one for line information (I am creating an XML for a purchase order).
The problem is when the workflow try the first time to create a message, the views are not returning data. So message creation fails. Now, if we restart the workflow after some time, it will work and the message is created. What could be the reason for this sort of a behaviour ?
I am using business events to trigger the workflow. The data in the table/view will be updated by standard POAPPRV workflow activities. The custom workflow is subscribed to a business event raised from POAPPRV workflow, at a certain point. So this will execute when this event is raised from POAPPRV wf. The subscription has a phase value of 99.

With the BAPI_EQUI_CREATE you can only create PM equipments not IS-U devices that why there is no IS Tab .
You have to use the dialog transactions IQ01, IQ04 or the MM transaction, where you can create devices through a movement.
There is objecttype DEVICE (SWO1) with the following methods:
-> Device.CreateFromData (Create Equipment Master Record)
-> Device.Create (Create Equipment Master Record)
-> Device.CreateISU (Create IS-U: Modification for IS-U)
Please check whether you can use method Device.CreateISU for your requirement.

XI have to break/split XML-File into N times a XML Message

Hello,
Can anyone help with this one. I guess this is not an easy exercise but I need to solve it urgently.
XI gets a XML-file from a system.
This file has N times a element <XBT>.
Every time XI gets such a file the number of <XBT> is different.
XI haves to break this xml into N xml messages according to element ><XBT> in order to send them to Sap sequentially.
For example the following XML file have to split up into 2 xml files (the elements XBT occurs 2 times)
How can this be done?

This is pretty standard procedure if you are posting these messages to R/3. As was pointed out in the weblogs above, when using IDocs you don't need to do any tricky configuration. Just make sure that your XML structure is set correctly (ie: 1 to unbounded, etc) to the limits that you want, and XI will automatically loop the mapping process for each instance of the <XBT> item that it detects in the source message. You mentioned:

Well, you don't actually split it into two XML files per say, XI just processes the source message straight to multiple IDocs using the IDoc adapter.
