AshwiniHi,
OC4J jar files are shipped with BAM and are by default installed in C:\oraclebam\oc4j. However if you choose a non default location for BAM install you have to update the classpath in BAM Administrator in Enterprise Message source types and restart BAM.
Also see the section "4.5.1 Classpath for Message Queues" in install guide.

In Design failed to update error code 49
/Just installed In Design CC and then it wanted to update, clicked on update and I get a message to contact support (49). Can anybody advise where I go now please
SallyAnnStone this indicates the installer was unable to write to a critical directory/folder. I would recommend reviewing the installation log files for the update to determine the specific failure. You can find information on how to locate and interpret your installation log files at Troubleshoot install issues with log files | CC - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cc.html. You are welcome to post any specific errors you discover to this discussion.

I am facing the same issue with both DS 1.2 and 1.3 client. The trace file is similar to the one Bhavanam has indicated. None of the suggested solutions are working, the ones that are described in:
Error "Could not initiate connection. Check the Web Service URL" when using BI Platform connection
OS: Win 7 SP1 32 bit
IE 9.0.8112.16421

Login Issues to SAP HANA from Design Studio
Hello All ,
I am pretty newbie here so the question might seem a bit elementary .We are trying to connect to our SAP HANA environment from Design studio .When we are pinging the XSEngine URL it is responding properly .But when we are trying to connect from Design Studio the following error occurs .
Here is the landscape we have designed so far :
HANA Server is installed .
BOXI 4.1 SP 5 server is installed .
HANA and BO servers are communicating through SSL .
Design Studio Add-on is installed on BO server .
When we tried to explore the path using HANA explorer we found the path mentioned in the error screen does not exist .
What we need to do to overcome this error ?
Regards,
Sourav RoyHi Sourav,
As mentioned by Karol, you have to deploy the DS-HANA Addon on your HANA System.

Error :- while accessing JMS topic messages in Design Studio
Hi,
Am getting this error while clicking update button in Design Studio to populate a dataobject using JMS Topic messages sent by oracle Bpel manager.
IMessageSourceReceiver->messageReceive: javax.naming.NoInitialContextException: Cannot instantiate class: oracle.j2ee.rmi.RMIInitialContextFactory. Root exception is java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: oracle.j2ee.rmi.RMIInitialContextFactory
Can you tell me where to find the class and how to use it to resolve the problem?
P.S:-
If you can provide any document how oracle BPEL process manager use JMS topic to send message to Oracle BAM and display in reports.
Thanks in advance

We are trying to get to our oc4j container on our BPEL server. We have the following settings on our created message sourcein BAM architect:
Initial Context Factory: oracle.j2ee.rmi.RMIInitialContextFactory
JNDI Service Provider URL: opmn:ormi://hostname:6003:OC4J_BPEL
TopicConnectionFactory Name: java:comp/resource/ojms_ipl/TopicConnectionFactories/iplerror
Topic Name: java:comp/resource/ojms_ipl/Topics/iplerror
ojms_ipl refers to the datasource on our BPEL server that is defined in application.xml.
Where is the class located?

Unknown Error in Design Studio
Hi Experts,
I'm still a bit new in Design Studio so I don't have much info in the area. Anyway, one of our users
have suddenly experienced getting this uknown error.
It was working a week ago and then when they updated in the BW-side. He said that they did not change anything in the BEx query level.
Rather they have added a restriction on Organisational Unit Hierarchy with a single value in the BW system.
The error that they are is:
"Uknown Error
While processing the current request, an exception occurred which could not be handled by the application or the framework.
Log Id: 3f64a89d-a6a6-495f-bf87-2da0444f44c6
Failed to process request. Please contact your system administrator.
To facilitate analysis of the problem, keep a copy of this error page.
We are sorry for the inconvenience"
Who you have any idea as to what might have caused this and what could be the possible resolution?
Kind Regards and Many Thanks,
MarkThere is a hot fix for 1.3; it would not apply to you on 1.2 and it looks like you are on SP2 for 1.2

Planning function and planning sequence of Design studio new features!!
Hi Experts
Recently I have updated my design studio to 1.3 and happy to see many new updates. Meanwhile i saw some new features add planning function and planning sequence.
As per my understanding, Using this features we can enter data at run time. My query is here
Is it like we are entering data at run time and see the changes in current data(chart series)
Ex: Add discount for product 10% and relevant data(in chart) reduced to 10%
or
Is it like integrated planning? Once we enter data in run time and it saves in BW planning cube?
I am totally confused with this feature.. Can any one help me to get clear understanding on this please !
Regards,
Mathivanan MHi,
maybe these two article can help you:
#1 Planning in Design Studio 1.3
#2 Planning in DS 1.3 - Using different script methods for planning
As i unterstand, it's only possible to write back in BW.

Hello Experts,
We upgraded our SAP BO from 4.0 to SAP BO 4.1 SP5 and also updated our Design Studio from 1.2 directly to 1.4.
Upon testing the existing application in Design Studio it so happens that the existing application is sucessfully executed in local mode. However it does run from the BI Launchpad.
I tried creating a new application in Design Studio 1.4 whick works fine in both local and BI launchpad but my previous created application in 1.2 (now loaded in Design Studio 1.4) should also work, I don't know the reason why it dosen't work.Need help on how to proceed further.
Attached is the error which I get when ezecuting application in BI Launchpad.
Reply Awaited.
Best Regards,
Niyati S.Hi Tammy,
Sorry none of the mentioned steps get synced with my situation since I have no problem executing new applications from BI Launchpad but only my old ones.
I read the article http://scn.sap.com/community/businessobjects-design-studio/blog/2014/11/26/ds-14-server-installation and it mentions just smooth execution of existing Design Studio application after updating to 1.4. Wish that would have been the case with me too!
Looking forward to finding solution of the problem.

check any of this solution works for you.
try using executing with eclipse.exe -clean
or

Design Studio not reading plan data input - How to debug it?
I am using Design Studio, created a grid and using a Java program I am sending events info into EL. I checked in BAM object > Content and it is getting updated with the new data, however, the Update button in DS is returning with 0 rows updated.
I set the DEBUG log level in the BAM/*.config files but I still get no many debug details..
Is there a way to confirm/test the EL is working from DS?
Can anybody clarify to me what setup is needed specific to EL/DS that maybe causing this issue?
thanks in advanceHi,
If your plan is reading data from a queue that java program is sending data to and updating a data object and the you have a grid, grid would not show anything.
Grid is only used to initially test whether data is coming through, once you have done testing you remove and put the BAM Insert/update transform to send data to BAM.
Also you use the Plan monitor in BAM Administrator to run the plan automatically.
Hope this helps
Thanks
