Desktop Media Tab Help

I have a new Verizon Centro. The help information that came with the Palm Desktop by ACCESS doesn't even mention the Media tab. The Centro user guide isn't any help either.
My immediate problem is the naming of my expansion card. On the Centro it is just named "Card." In the media section of the Palm Desktop, however, it is named "Expansion Card 1." Is there any way to rename it in the Palm Desktop?
Are there any directions anywhere for using the Palm Desktop Media tab?

Thanks, aeisha_anis, but renaming the card on the Centro doesn't rename it on the Palm Desktop media tab.
I've found it really hard to get information about the Palm Desktop as well as what is going on inside the Centro.

Desktop "Media" trouble--HELP!

All of my data from my Palm Tungsten E transferred over to my phone including photos that are old and I don't want them on there anymore. Every time I try to open "media" on the desktop it freezes up my computer. I have tried to delete the photos on the handheld but I cannot figure out how. Can anyone help me?? Thanks!

After deleting the pictures you may want to set the conduit for the media to Handheld overwrites desktop before you sync.

I do not have the people and media tabs to allow me to import photos from my iPhotos ,i only have the elive, quick, guided and expert tabs, can anyone help please?

Im having problems importing from my iPhotos, i just bought photoshop elements 13 and mac book at the same time and am on a bit of a learning curve, i noticed that on all tutorials there were People and Media tabs which i cannot see, all i can see is elive, Quick, Guided and Expert, can anyone please help?

Elements consists of two separate but interrelated programs: the editor, where you work on your photos, and the organizer, which you can use to organize them. You are looking in the editor. To see the organizer, click the organizer button in the welcome screen or at the bottom of the editor.
Now, do you want to keep your photos in iphoto or in the organizer? That's a choice you must make, sooner or later. The organizer does include a get photos from>iphoto command, but that will copy all the photos in your iphoto library to a new location and make organizer databases for the copies. Is that what you want to do, or do you want to use iphoto to organize your photos, in which case you would not use the PSE organizer?

Seagate Desktop Media Drive issue

Hi Folks
I have a 2TB Seagate Desktop Media Drive. It has been backing up using time machine with no issues, however, I keep getting this message come up:
The disk was not ejected properly. If possible, always eject a disk before unplugging it or turning it off.
The pop up message is becoming annoying, any help or advice would be gratefully recieved.

Same thing here. I bought I cheap Seagate 2TB external USB drive for Time Machine and after the Lion upgrade I get that message constantly. It's really annoing becuase when you're typing and that alert pops up it immediately hijacks whatever you were doing.
Any solutions?

I can't upload photos from Aperture or IPhoto to an outside website. The Media tab under devices is not even there. How do I upload my photos?

When I try to upload multiple photos to a few online printing websites, the Media tab under devices isn't there. Also, the aperture and iphoto are under photos in the sidebar but I can't access any sub-folders or photos at all. Please help!!

So im safer using footage that is remotely being pulled from iphoto...

using footage that is imported into FCP from imovie?
Is there anything i can do in fcp to make this footage more reliable or safer or more stable as i pull remotely from iphoto?

Why can't I browse finder under the media tab?

When I go to the media tab to insert a movie, there is no option to browse the finder? Why is apple trying to force me to use I-photo?

Thanks for the responses. I'll just keep doing the drag and drop. I don't appreciate Apple's attempts to force me to use the ancillary software of their choice, especially when they don't seem to want to serve my business needs. I love Iphoto for my personal photo collection. Another case of Apple not serving business users very well. I have two libraries of photos, tens of thousands in each. Personal photos and work photos. I use Keynote for work. Iphoto won't allow me to create two libraries, and I don't want work photos mixed in with my personal photos. Albums don't help. So my work photos just live in my own organized series of nested files found through finder. APPLE!! PLEASE START THINKING ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS USERS!

There is no plus sign and going into optins and changing settings has not worked. I have uninstall FF and reinstall-keeping my personalization-and that was no help.
Right clicking on FF Icon to open a new tab, or going up to FF drop down tab and clicking on new tab both do not work.
Help everything opens a new window not a new tab. there seems to be no way to reset this or to chose a different optin. I just downloaded new tabs at end addon and it didn't do a thing.

I need to use my iMac to run some Windows software and was thinking of using Parallels Desktop 9 to help with this. Do you still have to partition your drive with Parallels and does this leave you open to viruses?

You do not have to partition your drive - Parallels creates a disk image which contains your Windows installation. You do have to exercise anti-virus measures in the Windows partition, although such malware cannot affect the Mac filesystem.

Media Tab Missing in Publishing Site

Hello
I have a Publishing site created with the Publishing template. I edit the default.aspx page of the site and click 'Add a Web Part', I then select Media and Content and pick the Media Web Part. I then edit the web part, but I don't see the 'Media Tab' in
the ribbon.
I tried creating a new page but it still didn't show.
Does anyone have any ideas why this is not working?

I tried reproducing the issue in my SharePoint Server 2013 by creating a site collection of Publishing Portal. Then I created a new page, and inserted a media web part. When I click on the web part, WER PART tab and MEDIA tab were both shown in the ribbon.
Then I tried any possible reason, I deactivated publishing feature in site feature, then the media tab still existed. After I deactivated the publishing feature in site collection feature. The media tab disappeared and all ribbons in WEB PART tab greyed
out.
I’d recommend you check the if publishing feature is activated in site collection feature and site feature. Could you edit this media web part properties? Did the issue occur in other site collection with publishing feature activated? Did the issue occur
with admin permission?

Printing prefs - using "VDP" and "Media" tabs

I have come across an issue where I need to use both of these prefs when printing to a RIP that holds my "master". For some reason, I can not select a "master" under the VDP tab and at the same time define a page range under mixed media. (it tells me I can not use both)
My final goal (to clarify) is to have the 150 page variable data document alternate between 2 paper trays on my printer while also using the 2 page "master" file I saved to the RIP. I need page 1 of the master to merge with 1,3,5,7,9etc.. and to use tray1 while page 2 of the master merges with 2-4-6-8 etc...and use tray 2 on the printer.

InDesign doesn't have a "VDP" or "Media" tab as part of its print dialog. What printer/RIP are you using? Sounds like something you need to discuss with your printer vendor who apparently supplied a fairly sophisticated driver.

No iPhoto pictures in the Media tab

I'm looking to make a slideshow in iDVD but can't find any of my iPhoto pics in the Media tab. How can I update my iLife'09 Media Browser to include iPhoto and iTunes data?

There seems to be a jackboot coercion to eliminate a multi-window view in Firefox to the point where, in the current iteration, there is a permanent single space wasting tab in the header.
Like many I have many programs open, spreadsheets, text and graphic editors, sometimes 2 or more browsers.
ALL are easy to find on the task bar until they are obscured by tabs.
I followed the gravitational pull toward tabs for mobile use.
There they can be justified.
They are counterproductive in desktop usage.
Even the developers tab-killers have been eliminated.
Do we all have to accept tabs like GMOs and fluoride?
Is there a hope for a full desktop view in Firefox?

I am familiar with far more alternatives than you could suggest.
This question is for Firefox developers please.
For you less experienced home users with just one PC I will explain again.
There is a client base that prefers windows to tabs for business reasons, regardless of OS, and purely for ergonomics.
With several programs open, spreadsheets, graphic displays, sometimes 2 or more browsers, ALL are easy to find on the task bar until they are obscured by a browser with tabs open in one stack.
I see tabs as a current fad, useful for small screens on low res phones.
Tabs in apps on mobile devices is just fine.
There we use a finger or stylus.
On desktops, we use a mouse.
Current smartphones and tablets, have comparable resolution and utility to desktops.
They just lack power. That will change.
Firefox is the preeminent browser.
It is a mainstay of Linux and Linux appliances.
To push it toward "tabs only" as if just for phones is a mistake.
When MS Windows 8 is used in business it is used always in desktop mode, and with a mouse, not panes.
That's why business rejected it when released.
When the mouse disappears, tabs may become useful on desktops.
For now the mouse is here to stay, and so should the windowed browser.
As much as I dislike Internet Explorer, it has a simple "no tabs" option.
So should Firefox.

QM Desktop - Report tab displays blank page

Hi all,
I'm currently running UCCX7.0(1) with QM2.7(3) and i'm facing the following issue.
Thru QM Desktop - Report tab, an IE page will be displayed to show the available reports that we wish to run. It's trying to launch the following link https://<ip.address>:8448/QMR/Login?signature=49B7E14D173A2...E10D664 However a blank page is being displayed.
I remember seeing this a while back where it's something to do with the report templates, files, etc missing / not installed correctly.
a) which folder is storing the report files?
b) is there a way to load the missing files without reinstallation?
c) any other reason why this is happening?

Quick update
I manually change the url from :8448/QMR/xxx">https://:8448/QMR/xxx to :8088/QMR/xxxx">http://:8088/QMR/xxxx and this time the QM Reporting System page is displaying according.
I don't believe there was any option during install/postinstall that enable us to specify if we want to use SSL or not. Any ideas?

PSE 11 - Cannot add people tags to photos from Media tab

I upgraded from PSE9 to PSE11 and now the tags are separated on the right side, with the people tags below a line from which you can no longer add these tags to photos.
How am I supposed to add people tags to new photos?

To see imported keywords for people, in the Media tab click the menu:
View >> People Recognition
To add new people tags click the button on the task bar Add People and let the software run.
