Detect VM on Win XP where no VM is installed

Hi all,
can anbody tell how i can detect if a Java VM is installed or not installed on Windows XP.
NOTE: Following described here (http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dndetect/html/detectvm.asp)
does not work on Windows XP where no JVM is installed, because the CLSID "08B0E5C0-4FCB-11CF-AAA5-00401C608500" for the Microsoft VM is available in the Registry although it is not installed on Win XP!
Also OBJECT/APPLET Tag can't be used on Win XP where no VM is available, because you get the "Installation when required" message box in the IE!
I know also that the the SP1 includes the Microsoft VM, but I don't will use this! Also its easier for our customers to download the JRE (9 MB) instead of the SP1 (130 MB) ;-).
Does anybody knows how I can detect this using VBScript inside a HTML Page ?
We need this to automatically install the Sun Java Plug-in on the customer PC if no VM is available!
This is very important for us!!!

The example on the following page shows how to detect the version of the Microsoft VM is loaded on the machine. (the example is in Javascript)..I didnt look but I strongly suspect there is someway to tell if it is Not loaded at all from this example.

Imagine: I had a good day!! I contacted the help desk of my lenovo touch 3000 laptop.They guided me how to re-install windows 8.1. Preferred mode: without using the recovery disc, without recovery of user data. After re-installing all additional software like anti-virus -, office 2013, webcam etc. all went fine.I downloaded and installed BBLink and visual C+++ and got immediate access to my Bb Z30 smartphone data. uninstall any acrobat and reader versions, if you have win os clean (Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs) and then install acrobat std.

I got to connect to a database on-premise with the Hybrid Connection.
I have installed the "Hybrid Connection Manager" locally into the SQL Server.
But I don't know if it is correct.
If I have several DataBase servers I have to install the "Hybrid Connection Manager" locally into each one of them, or I can use another server to install the controller?
Now I want to connect a webService on-premise with the Hybrid Connection. I don't know where I have to install the "Hybrid Connection Manager". In the web server? I have tried it, but the install not Works properly.

On android tablet/phone login box fails to appear to enable access to password protected files. says' unable to open file. try again later'. This only occurs where Adobe is already installed

On all the android devices we have where Adobe reader has been installed, no login box appears to enter a password where this is required to read the file. A message comes up saying the file cannot be accessed at this time, and to try again later. The box does however appear where Adobe isn't installed, but as soon as Adobe is installed in order to read the file, it becomes inaccessible again. What do I need to do.

After you install a new hard drive, you need to boot to another drive to initialize it to MAC OS Extended (journaled) format and create the partition(s) on the drive. You do this using Disk Utility. Otherwise, the mac operating install process doesn't see a formatted disk to install to.

Freeing Up Space on The Hard Drive
1. See Lion/Mountain Lion/Mavericks' Storage Display.
2. You can remove data from your Home folder except for the /Home/Library/ folder.
3. Visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQ on freeing up space on your hard drive.
4. Also see Freeing space on your Mac OS X startup disk.
5. See Where did my Disk Space go?.
6. See The Storage Display.
You must Empty the Trash in order to recover the space they occupied on the hard drive.
You should consider replacing the drive with a larger one. Check out OWC for drives, tutorials, and toolkits.
Try using OmniDiskSweeper 1.8 or GrandPerspective to search your drive for large files and where they are located.
I recommend that you also make a backup before proceeding. Just quit the installer.

The Adobe auto updater is highly unreliable.
You need to look for and download the update yourself and then manually apply it as per the detailed instructions on the download page:

SCCM 2007 R2 Query - Look for Win2k8 servers where Terminal Services is installed.

Hi there.
I have been looking all over the net. That's how it feels ;-D. I'm trying to a find out how to create a query that I can use in a SCCM Collection. This query should result in only Windows 2008 Servers where Terminal Services have been installed.
So far I have tried at least ten different ways of doing this. With no prevail. So I hope you guys can assist me.
1) Create a collection.
2) Create a query.
a. The query should only find Windows 2008 Server where Terminal Services is installed.
3) Then I can distribute only to these servers.

Hmm... Well, keeping in mind that from my point of view, there is no reason to not install the client on every box in the enterprise. What's the reason to not install the client? If there's a political reason, like those boxes belong to some other team who doesn't want you touching their servers, why are you responsible for ensuring Terminal Services is installed? Make *them* come up with an alternate method to confirm that.
Just deploy the client and move on.
I cannot think of a single way to determine if Terminal Services is installed without either the ConfigMgr Client installed, or a different administrative tool tell you that. Whether that other Admin tool is a remote script you design & run, or if you have some other tool available (would SCOM be able to be configured to report that? Maybe.), I have no suggestions for you other than logging into each server interactively and looking manually.
Which brings me full circle back to: just install the ConfigMgr client.
Slightly OT: once they have the client installed, you could then create a DCM Baseline so that you could run a report and see which ones might have 'drifted' from the approved configuration.Standardize. Simplify. Automate.

I am trying to develop experimental HLS server and for that i need following cmd-line tools for my MAC-OSX-10.6.8.
I have read some where that these tools are there from OSX version number 10.6 but I have only "mediastreamsegmenter"command on my MAC machine.
I am very new to MAC environment and I don't know how to download/install new libraries and applications for MAC.
Can someone please provide some help,
from where to download and install these cmd-line tools?
I need following tools:
1. mediastreamsegmenter
2. mediafilesegmenter
3. mediastreamvalidator.

I would like to answer to another question, just in case:
Question: Can I dual boot Win7 and Linux on a UEFI capable bios?
Answer: Yes you can. If your HDD is formatted in MBR partition table (or msdos) than you can install first windows 7 and than the distro of your choice. BUT, careful, if you install windows from a DVD media it will convert your HDD in GPT partition table and dual boot will be almost impossible... (or will give you a lot of headache) to avoid this, dump the win7 iso to an usb using Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool. Installing from USB will not change the hdd in GPT partition table.
