Is there a way to validate a software installed in a workstation if its a free ware or a licensed-required software?

Running into two problems:
1. Despite the product actually being used on some computers, Recently Used Apps (RUA) View shows no usage (none in other SW Metering views, either) and not sure what the issue is--SW and HW inventory are both working perfectly fine, as
are the metering processes on the site server. Gives me a lot of false positives for not being used.
2. Have found some cases in which a previous version was installed, and used, then later upgraded, but not used--however, seems no way to filter out just usage for the CURRENT version. Have looked at comparing the SW File Version and the
RUA.File Version, but they are often not identical, particularly if the product was patched.
Is there a better way to determine usage, or a better custom report to use?

Plug-in licensing software

I continue to have trouble with the licensing software
I am using for my plug-in. Has anyone found a good solutiuon? for an Adobe plug-in?

Amazingly there are still quite a few photographers/shops around that don't have high end equipment, cranking out senior pictures on a couple of 3880s, with 2-3 macs/pcs using lower cost monitors. I do the best I can to aim them at reasonable displays (stay away from Frys, procure monitors with ips panels, etc.) but they are reluctant to spend several grand for the premium stuff.
It might do some of you good to roam around the real world occasionally.

How to determine serial number of installed software

I need to deactivate and reinstall my version of Acrobat 9 Pro. The trouble is I have the program on two old computers, with different licenses. This is a Student license I need to move and I have the installation DVD and valid serial number.
Is there any way to find the serial number of the installed versions so I can be sure I'm deactivating the right one?

Adobe acrobat 11 pro monthly subscription, keep getting license software window

I am a single subscriber to acrobat 11 pro, every time I open a PDF I get a prompt to license the software, why?

I don't have a better answer, unless you are not running it as the administrator so the activation is properly stored. Just to be sure, the activation is done in Acrobat itself and not by logging in to Adobe.com -- I am assuming you activate in Acrobat. If that is so, I am not sure what the problem may be and hopefully someone else will drop by with a solution.

Convert from Oracle Freeware to Licensed version

We have a development database on Oracle9i and our Dev Team wants us (urgently) to migrate it to Oracle10g R2. We are planning to use the OTN License version while we are waiting for the license.
My question is, is their a way/shortcut to convert the OTN License version to a licensed version without having to remigrate the database? Any info will be appreciated. Thank you.

Well, not quite .... when you license the software properly for development and production, you have nthe opportunity to purchase support. So the big change is that you will be able to get and apply patches.

Licensing Software Failure

The computer my Photoshop CS3 was previously on is completely broken and my new computer doesn't have a CD drive. I have tried to license the software using the serial number but it is saying that it is invalid. How can I fix this?

I don't know of any free tools (but i haven't looked for any so there might be some). But it ain't difficult to write your own.
1. Create a string, byte array, what ever you want to use with the information you need.
2. encrypt this data with a punlic-key algorithem like RSA
3. ship the private key with your program (you can even hardcode it in your code if you want) and let never ever anyone see the public key
This way your program can decode the information but noone besides you can create a valid license file. Of course someone could "just" remove any license checks from your program. But there is no way how you could avoid this. You could try to make it more difficult but usually i wouldn't care about it. Most customers have better things to do than cracking your code. And for these 99.9% such a license file works fine enough

Trying to open Acrobat, it says I need to "license software", and enter serial

I started the monthly subscription a few weeks ago, and used it fine for the first week. Now it is saying "my trial has expired" and I need to "license the software", and when I go to do that, it asks for a serial #. What serial #? This was a download for a monthly subscription, and it shouldn't be doing this, it's been less than 3 weeks since I downloaded it.

Don't enter a serial, but nearby look for an option to sign in. Signing in is how it knows you have a subscription.

Can't access software from creative cloud-says license software???

I am a creactive cloud user, but when I try to use my software it say "your trial has expired" I am logged in, but the only option it gives me is "License this software" what is the deal I am VERY frustrated!

What happens when you click on "License the software"? Does the application launch or you get any activation error?
Try clicking on "License the software" and it should work fine. If not, tell us the error message.

Every time I use CS6 I get asked to license the software, I enter my serial#, it takes it, and then have no problems using CS6. Until I log in again and it starts all over..

If the info doesn't stick you might also want to check your user privileges, file permissions and security stuff...

I have the same problem
I had to uninstall Photoshop CS6 because of Problems with Extension Manager.
I installed Photoshop over the Appliacation Manager and updated it just after install.
Now not my "simple" Photoshop starts-starting is Photoshop Extended in Trial Mode.
I deactivate the product and have to start PS two times until the "license this product" comes up. I can login with my adobe id and license the product. But after some time not starting Photoshop or after a reboot this is gone and i have a trial version of the extended again and have to the steps again.
I'm a little mad because i thought this problem had been fixed. Before uninstalling and installing Photoshop i didn't have this problem.
I already deleted the entries of the Adobe PCD folder, with no luck.
I hope there's a solution for this?!

I'm currently trying to get hold of a WebLogic Server 5.1 (and a license) to run
on a live (hosted) web application server in the UK (in fact it needs to be for
2 licenses - since it will end up on a Solaris E220 which contains 2 CPUs).
Has anyone got anything like this hanging around that they would be happy to sell
on to us at a lower price than the new price quoted at BEA Weblogic? It doesn't
have to be new - it could be 2nd hand - ie. a company wishing to sell or offload
some of its assets.
I am of course assuming it can be done as simply as this, or is there a catch
in the WebLogic licensing small print that we should know about?
