  • Can't create DataSource in BI engine within Solution Manager.

    Hi Experts,
I am doing development in the BI Engine (BI 7.0) within Solution Manager GSB 100 for our client to do Capacity Planning on XI.
I have created all the BI Objects but I could not create Application Components and DataSources from Modeling -> DataSources.
Note: The Source System for BI is Solution Manager, so everything is done within GSB 100 (Solution Manager Development / Test environment).
Can anyone help me with this? Or do I have to go to RSO2 and create a Generic DataSource and then Activate it in RSA5 and Transfer from RSA6?
Your time in this regard is much appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Chandu

    Hi
You should have Authorizations assigned to your Role for Creating Application Component.
Yes, you have to Create the Application Component for DS at RSO2 -- Activate the Same at RSo2 (Hope you know you can see only Standard BC at RSA5) -- Transfer the Same at RSA6..
You can Create the Application Component at InfoSources Area -- RSA12.
    Hope it helps and clear

  • Storage documentation in Solution Manager

    Hello everyone!
I have some difficulties with methods of storage documentation in Solution Manager.
I know that we can hold docs these ways:
    1. Documentation which are assigned with roadmaps. These docs are connected with different phases of implementation or other projects.
    2. Documentation which are assigned with business-processes in transaction SOLAR01- Business blueprint. I like this way, but the problem is that we should describe all process for which we want to hold docs.
Is there any possibility for storage like some kind of place where we can store docs and can easily find this documentation with help of key words for example...
If anybody know any other way I will be very appreciate...
    Thanks…

    Olga-
Yes it is possible to report on and search for documentation by keyword. You will still need to maintain a structure in the Blueprint Transaction in order to take advantage of the functionality. Here are the steps.
    <b>1.) Maintain Keywords</b>
In the Project Administration Transaction (SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN) you would select the Project Standards tab and the Keywords subtab. When you press the Project Template button on the bottom of the screen you can maintain your desired keywords and then use the black arrows to move them in or out of the Project Keywords "queue". After saving, you would use the black arrows again to move the newly created keyword into the Project Keywords queue (again). Flag the Documents radio button and Save.
<b>2.) Assign Keywords to Documents Loaded against nodes in the Business Process Structure</b>
In the structure that you created in SOLAR01, highlight the node to which the document is loaded against and choose either the General or Project Documentation Tab on the right hand side of the screen (depending on which tab you loaded the document to).
Highlight the document and click the Attribute button
In the Keywords box select from the drop down one or several Key Words that you maintained in step 1.
    Save.
<b>3.) Find documentation with help of key words</b>
From the menu bar select Environment --> Project Analysis --> Assignments --> Documentation.
In the Document Keywords box, select 1 or more Keywords to search on.
    Execute.
When your search results appear you can double click on the Document to be taken to where the document is loaded in the structure.
    Hope this helps.

  • Managing the development within solution manager landscape

    Hi
We have a development system (SMD) and a production system (SMP). SMP is the domain controller and manages the change requests of R/3 DEV, QAS and PRD. Now we want to start deploying enhancements to the functionality in the solution manager itself. I created a maintenance project in SMP and activated the change request management. The maintenance cycle is generated showing SMD as the Development track and SMP as the production track. The status is changed to development with release along with the normal activating and unlocking of the tracks. A change request is created in SMP with the component as SMP system. When I try to create a transport request or try log onto the system, the system is raising different types of error messages. Ideally, it should have created transport requests in SMD and should have navigated there for us to perform the required configuration/development. The error messages are System SMD, client 110 not found when trying to log onto the system and when trying to create a new transport request, it raises the exception with below detailed description.
"A technical problem occurred when RFC function module /TMWFLOW/TASK_START was accessed
    Message no. SOCM_ACTION_LOG 025
    Diagnosis
An exception was triggered when an RFC module was called.
    The module is /TMWFLOW/TASK_START
    System Response
The system terminated processing. The transaction contains errors.
    Procedure
Check RFC connection NONE to the Solution Manager.
    Procedure for System Administration
To analyze the termination, you can activate the assertions in the socm_rfc checkpoint group.
    Additional Information:
    Exception CX_SOCM_RFC_SYSTEM_FAILURE occurred (program:
    CL_CHM1_INSTANCE==============CP, include:
    CL_CHM1_INSTANCE==============CM00C, line: 140).
There is no RFC destination in the specified target"
Our basis person is also unable to troubleshoot this. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

    Hi Srinivas,
1.Check on the RFCs in SMSY for the SMD and SMP.
2.In the SMSY logical component when you click on the transport route is it showing the proper Transport route as you intented?
3.In the transport route is it client specific?
Please checkon the above and revert back for any clarification.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Avinash.

  • Customizing Documentation from Solution Manager

    Morning,
We made project customizing via Solution Manager, and our customer would like to have a report or customizing documentation from SM. How to generate this document via Solution Manager
    Thank You in advance
    DP

    Hello D;
As mentioned in the previous answer - SOLAR02 is where you can generate the Configuration Guide (SOLAR01 to generage the BluePrint).
My box is down right now - so I'll to respond from memory.  In Solar02, you simply click the matchcode within either the scenario or step.  Then a dialog box will appear with various processes or industry solutions.  You select the ones you need, and those will automatically generate the Scenario/Steps/etc.-> as well provide the config objects and other related transactions.  Some have a bonus of further documentation as well.  Once the "business repository" is updated, then you can select the top left menu path (sorry, don't know the name), and then select the Generate Configuration Guide.
Follow through the messages -> and once the Word document is display (it will be blank) -> Run the Macro (with all capital letters).
This will take a moment to generate the document.
I hope this helps - it's purely from memory.  Once my system is back up - I'll see if you still need assistance and I can guide you better.
    Best of luck,
    Gina

    Hi all,
In Solution Manager 7.1, after creation of Job Request, when i try to click on CRM Document number of the respective Job Request, it asks me to Select Business Role instead of guiding it to the screen of the incident management wherein Job Documentation is to be created from Job Request.
    Kindly assist

    Hi Vivek,
I have SAP_ALL with my user id and have also given role "SAP_SM_CRM_UIU_SOLMANPRO" and selected "SOLMANPRO" as well , but in the resultant incident it does not have the tab of Job Scheduling Management from which we can create job document for the requisite job request

  • Query Regarding Documentation in Solution Manager

Solution Manager Library says that when we do any configuration or testing ,automatically the document(Configuration Document or Test Script) gets generated. Can we have an Overview of how Solution Manager handles Documentation. If Automatic Documentation is Possible what are the settings to be done and where to view the Documents?

    Hi,
You con do it in 3 different levels for example:
    1. At Business Scenario, go to the TAB General Documentation and put all your document related to this Scenario
    2. At Process, same as Business Scenario
    3. At Process Step, same as Business Scenario.
Note: all the documentation for the project you are in this moment must be in the TAB Proj. Documentation so to reference the documentation you allready have on Gen documentation Go to Copy/Lynk and the chose "Lynk to project doc. Tab".

    Manuel.

  • Documentation for Solution Manager 4

    Hi all!
    I’am going crasy…..
At the moment I ‘am just customizing the solution manager 4. In the reference guide – section “create background jobs” – they refer to the configuration guide of the solution manager 4. 0 to get a complete list of background jobs for the solution manager 4.0.
I’ve downloaded the configuration guide for solution manager 4.0 but there is no information about this. I know the place of documentation on the sap market “\solutionmanager”.
    Did anybody know something more?
    Thank you for help!
    Best regards
    Thomas

    Hello Thomas,
Please in spro go to Basic Settings->SAP Solution Manager System->Schedule Background Jobs
The information of this point is more than enough to configure these jobs.
In a previous Configuration Guide you can see:
    Periodic Jobs
    Periodic Job scenario
REFRESH MESSAGE STATUS used to collect responses from SAP for messages
and Issues sent from the SAP Solution Manager
    SOLMAN_ISSUE_STATUS_REFRESH Service Desk
    SM:SCHEDULER Solution Monitoring
    BTC_CMS_COLLECTOR Change Manager
    LANDSCAPE_FETCH Implementation and distribution
    CRM_ISSUE_REFRESH Implementation and distribution (testing)

Solution Manager also works on a ABAP stack just like a R/3 system.
So, as long as you have a developer key on that system, you should be able to SE80, SE37, SE38 etc transactions.

  • Development- InfoCube on Attributes in Solution Manager

    Hi everyone,
I am new to development in BI as a whole but I have a question...
I am trying to create an InfoCube (than query) that will generate a list of the attributes of documentation in Solution Manager.  Does anyone know if this is possible or not?
I already have Solution Manager set up as a source system in the Business Warehouse.  Any ideas of what I would need to do next?
    Please help!

    Hi,
Look for data sources already replicated from SMP system.
If you are not having then first you need to create Data Source in SMP or need to replicate any existing one.
Once data source is availbel in BW then look for fields and define the dimensions for that. If you would like to stage the data in DSO first then map the data source with DSO and then map the DSO with cube.
You need to have some master data objects as well, For example Approver/Payer etc as you need to load the text for all those. You may use the same objects in cube as well.
    I hope it will help.
    Thanks,
    S
