Developing ADF app with JDEV10.1.3.5 on OAS with 10.1.3.4 runtimes?

Hi,
I've migrated an ADF app from JDev 10.1.3.4 to 10.1.3.5
My query is, how does this affect the server? Do I need to update the server runtimes to 10.1.3.5 as well,
or can I leave the server running on its current runtimes (10.1.3.4) ?
Any advice?

Well, it's certainly better to update the adf runtime too, as you never know when and how it bits you if you don't do it.
You can test it you, but as you need to do a full test leafing nothing untested it's simpler to update your OAS.

    Hi,
    I know what is happening, but i do not know why.
    The taskflow has a jspx whith a component binding.
    That binding points to a pageflow scope bean, defined in the taskflow.
    That bean also is used to get the parameters when the taskflow is called.
    I printed the bean hashcode, and for my surprise the parameters are passed to a different bean instance that the binding bean, the beans hashcode are differents.
    Why ? Is that a bug ? What do I have to do ? I need to set the binding to the same bean that gets the parameters.
    This is the component with the binding inside a jspx
    <bpm:processEditor id="processEditor"
    taskflow="true"
    inlineStyle="position:absolute;top:0;left:0;height:100%;width:100%;"
    binding="#{pageFlowScope.processEditorHost.editorComponent}"
    host="#{pageFlowScope.processEditorHost}" messageListener="#{pageFlowScope.processEditorHost.processMessage}"/>
    And this is the bean definition for the taskflow
    <managed-bean>
    <managed-bean-name>processEditorHost</managed-bean-name>
    <managed-bean-class>oracle.bpm.composer.beans.taskflow.TaskflowProcessEditorHost</managed-bean-class>
    <managed-bean-scope>pageFlow</managed-bean-scope>
    </managed-bean>
    For now I did
    final FacesContext context = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    if (context != null) {
    final ELContext elContext = context.getELContext();
    elContext.getELResolver().setValue(elContext, null, EDITOR_COMPONENT, editorComponent);
    To save the component and then i can get it again.
    final FacesContext context = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    ProcessEditor processEditor = null;
    if (context != null) {
    final ELContext elContext = context.getELContext();
    processEditor = (ProcessEditor) elContext.getELResolver().getValue(elContext, null, EDITOR_COMPONENT);
    The problem is that the component is not serializable.

  • How to develop web app by ADF Faces rich web client ?

    i want developer web app by adf face rich
    but have not adf rich tag library in jdev 10.1.3
    how to develop by adf rich?

    Hi,
    don't know what you mean by ADF Faces rich web client, but if you mean our Ajax component set, then this is not yet available outside of Oracle. If you mean ADF Faces as we have it in JDeveloper 10.1.3, create a JSF page and step through the creation process, toggle the ADF Faces libraries to make ADF Faces available

  • Customization of Human tasks the BPM Worklist App with ADF App

    Hi All,
    We are building a custom ADF application which aims to combine several business process human tasks to a unified interface.
    And how to integrate the Human Task Flow BPM Worklist to my ADF App.
    Otherthan that
    To the BPM Worklist App we want to do customizations also like
    1.Want to customize to apply our own custom skins to customize banner logo, title to the BPM Human Task Flow App.......
    2.And based on the logged in user/role we wanted to restrict the features of the Work List App.
    Say for Example should not provide the Facility to Add New Page if the logged in user is not an Admin, like wise no provision to add or modify or delete the Worklist Views like that...
    How to get control the App based on User/Role
    Any help or pointers would be appreciated!
    I have ADF Experience from projects Using JDeveloper 11.1.1.5.
    But, for me this is the first BPM case.
    Renuka

    Hi Renuka,
    There are basically two ways to create an ADF UI for a BPM Task:
    1. Generate it from the task
    2. Create a ADF Taskflow based on Human Workflow Task
    Since I tell this by heart, I might be slightly wrong in the terms.
    You probably want to try the second option. It is accessible from the "New Gallery". You'll have to provide the Human Task from the BPM project, but then you can build up the ADF Taskflow by your self, based on the customizations of the rest of your application.
    Should not be rocket science for someone with ADF11g experience. Since it is not my dayly job, I need to figure it out every time again ;). But I did it in the past and it wasn't so hard.

  • Sharing Weblogic instance with Forms and ADF apps

    We have both Oracle Forms and ADF (10.1.3.4) apps that we are planning to deploy to Weblogic. We are looking for the best approach for the architecture. Our user base is small (30-50 users) and the concurrent demand will be low as well.
    Options we are considering are:
    1. Two separate Weblogic servers, one for Forms and one for ADF
    2. One WL server with 2 domains, one for Forms and one for ADF
    3. One WL server and 1 domain serving both Forms and ADF. We'd probably create the domain for Forms initially then deploy the ADF apps to it as well as the ADF runtime libraries.
    Are there any tips as to what we should consider in making our decision?

    1. Two separate Weblogic servers, one for Forms and one for ADF
    this will actually segregate the applications.. both application will work independently.. still have to consider about the memory leaks as running two separate servers will take lot of resources.. no common library files access..2. One WL server with 2 domains, one for Forms and one for ADF
    rather good approach..works well.. still each will work independently.. no common library dependencies..3. One WL server and 1 domain serving both Forms and ADF. We'd probably create the domain for Forms initially then deploy the ADF apps to it as well as the ADF runtime libraries.
    both application can refer to common libraries..

  • Best practice to develop internet app integrating with backend R/3 modules

    While we wait to upgrade from R/3 4.6c, going forward we want to stop investing in ITS Flow Logic applications.
    What is the best practice around using backend RFCs/BAPIs to expose SAP functionality as a web application that is accessible on the internet? One thought looks like using WAS 6.4 - utilizing JRA to call RFCs and using JSP/Servlet; another is to use Webdynpro based development. Will appreciate some architecture advice along side - especially if we also wanted internet surfers to set up user accounts. Thanks!

    Hi Vito,
    I do have the same situation as you and also some of the guys mentioned above as well. I have Portal only users and also users who uses the SAP GUI.
    Thus, what I would advise, taking into consideration of audit as well, is to have the below scenerios:
    1) Users who login to backend with SAP GUI on Citrix only
    We have changed the system parameter: login/password_change_for_SSO=2
    The password change dialog box appears and the password must be changed (input: old and new password). Also we have setup SNC (CyberSafe) so that in our SAP GUI, users can click on the system with SNC setup and login to backend without having to enter userID and password
    2) Users who login to backend with SAP GUI on client (local)
    Users will login with userID and password
    3) Portal user with SSO and no login to backend vwith SAP GUI
    Portal users will have their password deactivated.
    Explaination to Audit for Portal users:
    We have 90days password reset on Windows (AD). So our Portal users are respecting the audit request of having 90days password reset, but instead of having it in SAP, its in our Windows. Furthermore, SSO is setup as such that the coinnection for these Portal users to the backend is secure.
    We are not able to set login/password_change_for_SSO=3 as we have sites which does not use Citrix. Thus, these sites will have local SAP GUI install.
    Hope that can share some experience of mine to those who are also in my past situation.

  • ADF app

    Hi All,
    I developed a brand new ADF application and deployed in weblogic server.
    It works great.
    When I try to run the same app in ipad (one with iOS 4.3.3 and another with iOS 4.3.2) safari browser, it does not work.
    Does ADF application work in iPad at all?
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks

    My ADF application is divided into 2 sections.
    Top section using af:table list records from the view object.
    Bottom section has a pannel tab form. Display details for the row clicked from the top section.
    Both the section has some buttons like commit, rollback, display future data etc.
    When the page is pulled up in iPad 1 running iOS 4.3.3, empty page with no data/button is displayed.
    I can see all the labels, color - skin changes etc.
    Thanks

  • Run a ADF app inside a frame

    Hi,
    We have a ADF app developed with Jdeveloper 11g. It runs fine.
    When we try to add it inside a html frame, it gives this error
    Warning: Unable to load content in a frame. Frame content will load at the top level.
    Any ideas how to work around this.
    Thanks

    Hi Frank,
    Correct. These are not ADF buttons. Here is how it is implemented.
    We are developing a new adf application, ""Employee Maint"" and adding to our existing site page.
    The existing html web page has top and bottom frames.
    The buttons are in the top frame which when clicked show the corresponding page in the bottom frame.
    Button code looks like this
    It is an hyperlink with href="# " onClick="showPage('mypage.html')"><img src="button1.gif">
    The java script, go_main looks like this
    function showPage(url1) {
    parent.frames.bottom.location.href = url1;
    Here is how the page looks.
    Button1 Button2 <<<<< top frame - name "head"
    mypage.html <<<<< bottom frame - name "bottom"
    In the mypage.html(in the bottom frame), "Employee Maint" link is there which points to the new ADF application.
    When clicked this link pulls up a Jdev Application in the bottom frame. THIS WORKS FINE.
    But, after the Jdeveloper page is loaded, when we try to use the "Button2" in the top frame to pull up other page,
    it does not work.
    The reason I see is that ONCE THE ADF APPLICATION HAS SHOWN IN THE BOTTOM FRAME, THAT FRAME is not accessable
    by the javascript when the Button2 is clicked. The parent.frames.bottom.location is inaccessible.
    This works well in IE but an issue with Safari/Chrome/Firefox.
    Is there any solution for this so that the top buttons continue to work even after clicking on the Jdeveloper App.
    PS: The ADF app has the below code in the web.xml (without this code it does not pull up in the bottom frame)
    <context-param>
    <param-name>oracle.adf.view.rich.security.FRAME_BUSTING</param-name>
    <param-value>never</param-value>
    </context-param>
    Thanks

    Hi,
      Check if your wsdl endpoint can accessed properly. If yes, check the soap-binding address is properly pointing to the server hosting the webservice.

    Likely because it's a not self contained and/or it's game and copy protected, so install it via the developers instructions instead, which likely means it will have ot be uninstalled off the first machine, the developer contacted for a new license key before installing on the newer machine.
    If you want it on both machines, you will need to likely buy another license.
    Most developers are fine with transfering license between machines, you have to contact them.
    They just want to make sure it's only on one machine so they are not getting robbed.

It locks up with several software products from APP store. I have already had to have a technician to look at it and really couldn't figure out what the deal was.  I was told that the APP store software should give me no problems but the truth is that it locks up on the software. This machine is only 4 weeks old and I am using 37 g on a 1 T hard drive. There is no reason for it to be locking up. Also, when I try to use the help program, it always tells me that I am not connected to the internet even though I have used both the mail program and the browser with no problem just before that. I successfully used the help program on my pc lots of times. I did not need a $2000. plus machine to just get email. The apps downloaded from the Mac App Store are written by third party developers, not Apple. If you have problems  with those apps you need to visit the support area for their websites. Launch the App Store, locate the app name. You should see a support link.

    Go to ~/Library/Preferences. Move the com.apple.helpviewer.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Trash. Restart your Mac, try the Help menu.
    If you need help finding that file, hold down the Finder icon in the Dock then click: New Finder Window. From the menu bar top of your screen click: Go > Go to Folder. Type this in exactly as you see it here:   ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.helpviewer.plist    That will take you right to that file.
    (.plist) files stores information about a particular app or in this case, the Help viewer. Often times deleting the .plist file resolves the issue.

    Well, that's a bit of an issue. I need something with some obvious horsepower in ram and on the harddisk. Since apple manages memory and code differently than a windows machine, I have no idea what to buy. Do I need a dual processor or not?
    So I'm in the store and I register online to the ios sdk, because they are quoting a readme document that details the full system requirements. But it's nowhere to be found. I am then told that I have to download the whole sdk to get access to this readme document. Funny, but I haven't bought the system yet to download it to.....chicken and egg, right?
    So can someone out there please tell me how much it's going to cost to get into the game, to create the magazines with video content, similar to National Geographic? I don't want to buy some cheap leopard machine only to find out that I can't upgrade the memory or that I have to get a different machine because what I bought was inadequate for my applications, because it wasn't fast enough to process etc....
    To develop a magazine with video and photo content, similar to National Geographic, what system do I need to purchase, and what are the exact specs on memory and processors etc....
    thanks!

    I know nothing about iOS; however, the best machine, IMO, would be the new 27" i7 iMac. Get 3rd-party RAM to go to 16 GB, and get the video card update. Whether or not you want an SSD is a personal choice. For me, it's not worth the cost, just get a 2 TB internal HD. That's all the hand-holding I can offer.

  • Issue after deployment of ADF App into Standalone server.

    Hi
    I was able to run my ADF App from Integrated server, but after deploying the same APP in standalone server and when we access the Page.
    I am getting the following error of " AM Definition not Found in the log". the exact log is below. Things are working fine in integrated but breaks in standalone.

    You won't believe if I say the issue because of a minute error.
    for some reason the AMImpl.xml and its class files were getting created in different directory where as the DataControl was referencing the different directory, when I changed the proper directory for classes files to generate things started to work fine.
    As long as the creating the deployment profile, I think I did right. So all is fine at my end.. thanks for your links, it was really helpful though.
    Thanks
    Thyagy

  • File download from a portletized ADF app running in webcenter spaces.

    Hi,
    I am having trouble downloading non static files from a portletized(with ADFPortletBridge) ADF application running as a portlet producer in Webcenter spaces .
    This is my scenario :
    Jdev : 11.1.1.3
    Webcenter : 11.1.1
    The ADF app has a query page, that uses the af:query component to do a query and display results on a table. This table data need to be exported as a file with some changes like splitting address to component city and state columns .
    The ADF app makes use of af:filedownloadlistener to get this(HTML formatted file with an .xls ext is our current preference to get it to open in excel, but could be anything) done . The ADF app works just fine, but as section 30.2.5.5 in the web center dev guide points out http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/webcenter.1111/e10148/jpsdg_bridge.htm#CACBHDEF
    > The <af.fileDownloadActionListener> component is not supported.
    The actual behavior however is that the export happens when triggered, but the component keep serving up the same file it created the first time it got invoked every subsequent time. The same file is served even across sessions.
    The alternatives I've considered so far are :
    1. <af:exportCollectionActionListener> - Exports what you see on the UI table. Would not work for us, because our exported data is different than whats on screen. (eg: whole addresses are displayed as a single column, but broken down as component city and state columns in exported data )
    UPDATE : <af:exportCollectionActionListener> exhibits the same behavior as <af.fileDownloadActionListener> in a portlet environment. The first time after deployment it works, and every subsequent time (across sessions) it serves up the same file it first generated.
    2. redirect to a servlet - admittedly half baked idea - fiire an action that will generate the report, then put it in sessionScope , redirect to a servlet that would pick up the report from session and stream it to the user by setting the servlet's response content type. Very unsure if this would fly in a portlet environment (sorry, I'm new to portlets) and even if it does, section 30.2.5.2 in the web center dev guide says :
    Do not redirect or forward a request within your JSP. JSR 168 only supports requestDispatcher.include(). The use of httpServletResponse.sendRedirect() or requestDispatcher.forward() results in exceptions and errors. Am I overlooking some feature that would let me do this or whats the recommended method to achieve this functionality of exporting a file generated at run-time in a portlet environment ?
