Development over two system in the landscape

Dear SolMan gurus.
We face the following issue. Our customer wants to have 2 different systems in the landscape (CRM and R/3 system) under one project. How can we manage to create transport requests (TR) for both systems at onece. Or do I have to create one TR form one system and than create TR for second system. Is it possible ad all? We use SolMan 7.1 SP3.
Thank you for your answers.
Regards,
Petr Syka

Let us take one example
for .e you have
CR1
CRM DEV -
CRM Q-----CRM PRD
ECC DEV -
ECC Q -
ECC PRD
R/3 DEV--R/3 Q----R/3 PRD
CR 2
CRM DEV -
CRM Q-----CRM PRD
ECC DEV -
ECC Q -
ECC PRD
R/3 DEV--R/3 Q----R/3 PRD
now say for e.g CR1 has all the work completed and developer released the Task ...further TR is released and dont worry if some TR is blank that will automatically get deleted.
but CR2 has still TR open and work is going on
so in this case only the TR which is released for CR1 will get imported to respective QA by the background job.
let me know if this resolves the problem

  • Need to change screen colours for each system in the landscape

    hi ,
we are in need of having different themes for different systems in the landscape .
    that is
if i click development system , the screen with 'theme1'
if i click quality system system , the screen with 'theme2'
if i click production system system , the screen with 'theme3'
how to configure this colour setting in accord to the system for all the users

    Hi Susin,
You would do this by changing the parameter sapgui/theme for each system. It uses the Tradeshow theme by default as of Web AS 6.40. As long as the SAPgui itself is set to "System Dependant" then it should work fine.

  • Configuring EarlyWatchAlert for all the systems in the landscape

    Gurus ,
In SDCCN can i configure EARLYWATCHALERT session with targethost as SDCC_OSS
now this has been only for production system . can this be done to all the systems in the landscape ?

    Hi Susin,
As per me i could say the EWAlert only be configured for your production system rather
than the other systems(Dev/QA) existing in your ladscape.
If you are thinking to schedule this Alert for other products(BI/EP/XI) or for other SIDs,
    then yes...please go ahead.
Why i am saying we can only schedule the EWAlert for production system, coz the
the EarlyWatch report uses the SDCC_OSS RFC, which is a copy of the SAPOSS connection. And the target destination refers to SAP's system where one copy of your
weekly shceduled EWAlert report goes to SAP end as well.
Please inform me incase any other queries...
    Thank you,

  • Exception due to UWL trying to access all the systems in the landscape.

    Hello everyone!
We have a problem with UWL in all our environments.
When a user is trying to see his tasks, an error appears at the top of the screen at the end of the update: u201CAn error occurred while trying to connect to the provideru201D.
This happens because the UWL is trying to establish a connection with all the backend systems in the landscape including the ones that the end user has no username in.
Because of that, the SSO fails to this backend system & we get this error.
My question is: how do I limit UWL to access only the relevant systems?
    Thanks,
    Yoav Zilberman

    Hi Yoav ,
Its very easy to solve your problem.
First i would like to explain the your scenario .. so you can get the correct idea of what you need to
    do for your problem.
    Suppose there are
2 user called UA and UB
    2 Roles RA and RB
2 Back-end System SA and SB
Let SA is accessing R3 system and SB is accessing SRM System.
User UA is having SA access and User UB is having SB system access.
Role RA is having  iviews for SA and Role RB is having iviews for SB Syetem
Role RA assigned to user UA and Role RB is assigned to user UB
So in your case when user UA is seeing his UWL he will be getting error for SB system and
UB will be getting erorr for SA system.
I hope you are getting same error ... explained above ..........???????
    Now Solution
Now to solve the issue you need to edit the  Registered Universal Worklist Systems .
Go to the Universal Worklist - Administration from System Administration->System Configuration
Now select your desired registered System Alias and click edit button
now you will see below mentioned attributes
    System Alias: *
    Connector Type: *
    Web Dynpro Launch System:
    User Roles:
    System Configuration Groups:
Delta Pull Channel Refresh Period (in Seconds):
Delta Pull Channel Snapshot Refresh Period (in Minutes):
In above mentioned Attributes ... go to User Roles: and for SA Alias in User Roles type RA
and for SB Alias in User Roles type RB.
That's all.... your problem solved .. just clear the cache and test.
    How It works
From Above case SA Alias will run only for users/groups those who are having RA role same as
SB Alias will run only for those who are having RB role.
So in your case when user UA will log-in only SA will get activated not SB so user will not see any errors
    for SB System.

  • % DB increase differs for two system from the same landscape

    Hi all ,
I have done upgrade and then unicode conversion for the two system- sandbox and development  from 4.6 C to ECC 6.0 with oracle 10 G and AIX 5.3
On sandbox % db( used db size in DB02 ) increase is 60 to 80 which is as per SAP figures after unicode conversion however on dev it is almost 150 % .
Has anybody faced the same problem before or can you suggest somthing for this tremendous data growth
Also what I have observed is threre are 7 tablespace on sandbox and 8 on Dev with "PSAPSR370" as the additional one on DEV ( PSAPSR3700 is different )
    Please help me on this
    -Ganesh

    Hi Ganesh,
the database growth depends heavily on the content. Which languages do you have installed in your system and which  modules are used by your company?
I think the normal growth should be in a range of zero to 30 percent. The lower end comes from the reorganization effect due to the migration and 30 percent comes due to the fact that most data is normally numeric and numbers are the same with or without Unicode. But in rare situations it could be possible to see much higher values. The reason is, that Oracle, and also DB2, are using UTF-8 encoding if you're running your system as Unicode system. In UTF-8 a two byte Unicode character could be encoded in up to four bytes. That means if your systems contains lots of double byte characters it could grow much more than 30% but it seems unusual to me.
Are you sure that nothing was wrong with your migration?
    Best regards
    Ralph Ganszky

  • I am so disgusted with Verizon CS.  Six hours over two days on the phone to upgade a phone and my plan.  More to come, but I have names, and even a direct phone number to a "supervisor".  I'll be posting more...  The incompetence of EVERYONE (which is alm

I'll be posting all the details of this tomorrow.

    So, I'm back, the OP.
    As briefly as i can:
Two phone family, currently one smart, one dumb phone.  The dumb is eligible for upgrade.
Call into V and spoke with "Anthony" to get info on what plan(s) I might consider as I upgrade the dump to a new iPhone 6.  Currently an old "grandfathered in" Nationwide 700 plan. This was Friday Sept 19.  Get some info, which I assumed to be correct, including the fact, his words not mine, that the "upgrade (device) fee" can be negotiable.
Before I had any first hand knowledge, I assumed that I'd better get a "second opinion" so I drove over to my local Verizon (corporate) store.  Well, I got a different story, including the percentage of my employee discount on service, my employer gives a 20% discount and has for years, I have my current statement / bill in my hand.  But no.... Verizon guy says that is wrong, its only 18%.  I ask him about upgrade fee being negotiable.  He says no, never.  So what had I learned?  That V guy on the phone from Friday was either lying or just ignorant.
Soooooo.... now its Tuesday, Sept 23.  The "BIG" day, day of 3 hours 50 minutes on the phone with SEVEN different V people, all of them telling me something different about what plan(s) I'm eligible for, your employee discount is 17, no 18, no 20 percent.  Yes we can negotiate an upgrade fee, no we can't...  At one point, now a couple hrs into it I say I've had enough, I want to talk to a supervisor.  "I'm sorry sir, supers can't come to the phone"  WHAT?  Well later, once I did speak to a first level supervisor and then a second level I of course found out that was wrong - more lies / misinformation?  The supervisor took the name of that V CS rep and looked at my every growing call log and said that he would speak to the CS rep.
So, nearing the 3 hrs mark into my attempt to find out about plans and buy an upgraded phone for my plan I reach "Brian". I have his direct number.  Apparently he is something more important that the past 6 people I've spoken to over the past thee hrs.  I tell him:  "EVERY SINGLE PERSON I've spoken to so far has told me something different, and or contradicted what the last person I've spoken to has said!!!!!"  Yes you can have 2 single line plans, no you can't, to get this plan your upgrading device has to be on the "Edge" plan, no it doesn't, your employers discount applies to the bottom line, no it doesn't, only to the data, and on, and on, and on.
Sooooooo I tell Brian, "here's how its going to go...  YOU are going to wave the upgrade fee.  I don't care where the money comes from, V or right out of your pocket.  I've been on the phone for now closing in on FOUR HOURS...."
Sooooo he agrees.  I laugh and tell him, "You know, it has nothing to do with the money, not its all about screwing V as much as I can, and wasting yours and V's time."
He says, order your phone and plan this week and I'll call you Friday (today Sept 26) and then credit your account the fee.
Soooo yesterday (Sept 25) I call in to do just that, order the phone and plan, WHICH I was told really the only plan that would suit you would be a More Everything Plan.  So, ok that's that.
I speak to a CS / Sales rep.  I buy the phone and then we go on to the plan.  I tell the rep THIS WHOLE LONG STORY, and it looks like we are heading towards the More Everything, BUT she says to me, "you know, you could do that Single Line plan for BOTH of your phones?"  I say "WHAT????"  I was told by two reps NO, and two reps "Well.... maybe".  This plan gets me everything I want AND saves me $10 a mo.
Sooooo we go for that, BUT.... I can't change my plan (from current Nation Wide 700) to 2 two single line plans until I activate my new phone (which will be 4 weeks until I get it - iPhone 6), SOOOOO once it arrives I HAVE TO CALL BACK TO V and switch - how much fun will that be??? MORE time (hours?) with V.
So we agree.... The rep says I just have to transfer you to our automated system where you'll agree to terms and conditions.. Fine.  Up comes the computer voice... and.... it says "hello.... you are upgrading your device (123) 555-1234 (it gives a real number), press 1 if this is correct."  WHAT???? That is NOT the phone number of my device  ***?  The auto system gives me the option to press another number to "enter a different number", so I do, AND......  The call disconnects.
Now... If I could track down ANY ONE OF THE PAST 8 PEOPLE I'D SPOKEN TO OVER THE PAST TWO DAYS, YOU'D BE READING ABOUT ME - "Upset customer KILLS everyone at V".  I AM SO ******* ****** OFF AT V... I'm now into 2 hrs today, plus the nearly 4 hrs the other day on the phone.
Soooooo.... I call back, have to tell the story again, this time to "Nick" in N.Y.  Nick says just go on line to your account, you can accept the terms there.  Well, what do you know....  It works, amazing.
But....  Nick says great and reads back the info on the phone I bought and says "...and I see you are on the More Everything Plan..."  WHAT, STOP, STOP, STOP.  I tell Nick, "Nope, I am not, I never agreed to that, I'm waiting, keeping my old plan for 4 weeks until I get the new phone, THEN I'm to call back (oh joy) to V and upgrade my plan"
Nick say's well you have the More Everything plan, and it is costing you $10 more a month, BUT I can't un-do it because there is a purchase (my phone) in progress... I am not BEYOND MAD.  We are now at SIX HOURS TOTAL TIME ON THE ******* PHONE OVER TWO DAYS.
I ask to speak to Nick's supervisor.  Melanie comes on the line.  I, weather she wants to hear it or not, TELL HER THE ENTIRE STORY, that when (and GOD help him if he doesn't) Brian, the top end supervisor calls on Friday (today) to check on my experience buying the phone / upgrading the plan AND to credit my account the upgrade fee, I'm going to have to tell him about EVERYTHING THAT'S HAPPENED TODAY and about the TWO MORE HOURS ON THE PHONE.  Melanie says, yes you do now have a More Everything... All I can do sir is apply a credit back to your account for the difference in cost between your old (what was my current) and the new More Everything (the plan I NEVER agreed to be on).
So, that is where we are as of now, Friday Sept 26 AM.  "Brain" said he'd be calling by noon-ish Pacific time. I've got his direct number, and If I don't here from him by noon, his phone will be ringing off the hook very 30 seconds until he picks up.
My experience to simply upgrade one of the two phones on my plan and the plan itself HAS BEEN A NIGHTMARE.  VERIZON is sooo SCREWED UP.  NO TWO PEOPLE KNOW THE SAME INFO, and the INEPTITUDE displayed is sickening.

  • Two SLDs in the landscape

    Hi
We have ECC6.0, BI and EP7.0 (Nw2004s) in 3 different boxes (one for each). The Sld is configured in the BW box. Now I would like to configure the SLD in the EP box.
Is there way where I can transport the SLD to the Ep system? If yes How?
Also if I create a 2nd SLD in the network will i cause any problem, what are the considerations I need to make.
    please let me know
    Thank you
    -Regards
    Luke

    Hi Luke,
I'm not sure if you can transport (move) the SLD from one box to another.  I do know you can have multiple SLDs in the landscape.  and you can even transfer information from one to another.  You can get general SLD information here:  http://service.sap.com/SLD  but i found this guide helpful.  http://service.sap.com/~sapidb/011000358700003772322006E
    Hope this helps.

  • Can two systems share the same WAS

    hi,
i have installed EP system and also a BW system.
i have installed EP on WAS. can i use the same WAS for the BW system or do i need to install another instance of WAS in the BW system.
please provide some inputs into this,
    thanks,
    uday

    Hi Uday,
You can install EP, BW both on WAS, no need to install another WAS instance for BW alone.
We have installed EP,VC,JDI etc in single WAS instance.

  • It has been over two hours since the update started

How long do these updates generally take, I am new to Apple TV just got moine for Christmas..  Can someone give me an approximate. Or is there something wrong with my download

Mine just finished step 1 after 3 hours!

  • I have invested over 6 hours on the phone and with my Verizon Authorized Rep. trying to get the Bonus 1 Gig of Data for myself on the More Plus Plan.  Cut and dry situation but today was told I have to wait about 7 days until they can get me "an answer" o

Basic question is why are any of the minimun 8 Verizon reps that I or my Authorized Verizon Rep (at Costco) spoke with unable to resolve a very simple, straightforward issue that should have been resolved in 15 minutes max.  Instead I (a 14 year verizon customer) have been given the runaround and have invested over 6 1/2 hours in trying to get someone to acknowledge that I an owed 1 GB of Bonus Data on my new phone on our new plan.  My wife got hers.  I am just venting now as I intend on returning the phone tomorrow (I got it Thursday) and turning around and getting an identical new phone.  This was suggested to me as an option by both the Rep who sold my wife her phone and the rep who sold me mine as that way I would not have to contiinue dealing with this ridiculous state of affairs (they indicated that my Free gig request was being sent to another department and that it would be about 7 days befor they get an answer).   Just Venting  .  Thanks

No I was considerate, etc.  The root of the problem stems from the fact that when I went to get my new phone I asked the salesperson if I should sign up for the new plan or if my wife should do it the following day when she buys her new phone (also at a Costco but in a different state).  The salesperson said it made absolutely no difference so I elected to have my wife do it.  When she did the next day she got her free Gig and her salesperson told her that I need to call in to make sure I get the gig that I am entitled to as well.  That's when the runaround started with the first call  consisting of me basically advising Verizon of what the promotion consists of, etc.since they insisted that it was one gig per Plan, that there were no exceptions to this, etc.  As mentioned they wanted to know where I got the information that it was one gig per qualifying phone. (Both the rep and her supervisor obviously were not aware of how Verizons heavily touted More Everything plan works). They told me finally that I needed to go back to the Costco where I got the phone.  I did.  The salesperson apologized numerous times to me for advising me that it made no difference who signs up for the plan or when.  She then spent over two hours on the phone (with me next to her) attempting to explain to Verizon what happened, how it was her fault, and how I was clearly entitled to the Bonus Gig since I also had a qualifying phone.  Finally she was transferred to someone who authorized the Bonus Gig (since I was clearly entitled to it) and who indicated that it might take 24 hours to show up on my new Plan.  72 hours later, no change, and the runaround continues some more.  The only reason I even came to this forum was to let off some steam since no one could give me an answer..  It's clear that I am entitled to the Bonus Gig yet the last supervisor I spoke with told me that he could only pass the request on to another department via e-mail (no direct contact, etc. even though I gave him the name and employee # of the Verizon rep who indicated the Bonus was approved) and that an answer should be forthcoming in about 7 days.  I was very cordial with everyone I spoke with as I understand that they take their direction from the top.  The countless hours I have spent dealing with this situation is something that no-one should have to go through, particularily someone who has been a Verizon Plan customer since about year 2000.  Everyone seems to agree that I am entitled to the free gig but no one seems to be in a position to help this customer.  Its a horrible way to treat someone.  I talked with the original saleslady today and told her I would be in tomorrow to turn in the phone and get a new one along with the gig I was entitled to.  She said that would be fine and wouldn't be a problem but that she would be happy to try calling Verizon once again to try to resolve the issue.  I indicated that I'm done with wasting time taliking with well-meaning and courteous (and I assume underpaid) employees who I assume are pretty much directed from above that any concessions they make, even if the customer is entitled to them, will reflect badly on their employee evaluations .  Good thing I am retired or I would really be worked up.  They only way I would consider even talking to Verizon anymore on this is if they were to waive  the $60 in upgrade fees my wife and I paid for the new phones.  I hope this explains the situation to your satisfaction.  Thanks.

  • Indexing a NAS across two systems for Spotlight

Hey all. I work for a graphics department of small business. The resident IT guy doesn't know anything abut the Macs that we use for all our designwork, so its kinda up to me to figure out all this stuff here as the resident nerd among my coworkers.
Anyways, we currently have two systems in the office, a 2012 Intel iMac running OS X 10.7, and a dinosaur orignal Power Mac G5 running 10.5. We have a ton of files spread across both systems, and use Spotlight to pull up stuff we need quickly (as I'm sure most of you do as well XP)
However, despite both systems being on the asme network with sharing enabled, we can't index the others drive to enable spotlight searching of the other systems content. This makes sense as I don't believe OS X is able to index another systems internal drive. So I was thinking of getting a NAS, consolidating and moving all the content we use from both systems onto said NAS, then indexing that drive on both desktops, alowing us to easily spotlight search for everything we normally use on both systems.
    I know you can easily set up a local USB or Firewire drive to be indexed via Terminal, but I'm not sure if the same thing applies to a NAS. Googling around has brought up some conflicting conjectures from multiple sources. I figure before I drop $150 of company money, I'd get a second opinion if I'm on the right track here ^_^;
Thanks for your time, appreciate any advice you may be able to provide!

  • Is a one server with two system IDs configuration valid when using MSCS

As the last step in my upgrade from BW30b to BI70 I need to introduce Java.
My newly upgraded ABAP BI70 system is running on a Microsoft Cluster and it was my intention to add Java as a separate system(SID).  When doing this it appeared I would be able to add the two systems to the same cluster group by selecting "Support of multiple SAP systems in one MSCS cluster" but this resulted in errors and I have found note 967123 which tells me not to chose this option when using MSCS.
It appears my options are a separate server all together or an ABAP+Java install which limits our upgrade options on each stack.
If anyone has found a work around for this I would be very interested.
    Thank you

    Hi Helmut,
Not sure how the D-Link works, but it looks like it has Wireless 802 also from the specs, so the Ethernet & Wireless would each have an IP & different MAC addies.
I always thought one Mac address can have only one IP address.
Nope, you can prove this to yourself on your Mac, In Network>Show:>Network Port Configurations, highlight say Ethernet, Copy, give that another IP Manually if you wish...

  • Where is the landscape/protrait button on the print menu?

I want to change the orientation of a photo from landscape to portrait by cropping the two ends of the landscape view, in effect zooming in on the people and leaving out the scene.  I get the photo as I like it in iPhoto using the edit feature.  When I go to print, however, the program retains the original orientation and cuts off the heads of the people.  How do I get the program to print what I see in iPhoto?  Where is the portrait/landscapt toggle button on the print window?

It takes two trips to the crop size/ratio menu to change the orientation. After setting the print size/ratio select the same menu and look at the very bottom of it.

  • How does XI system know the related CMS hostname?

    Hi mates,
We ran into an issue using CMS. We are in the process of upgrade to PI 7.0.
We had the CMS on our DEV system and the CMS Tracks page has the following details.
    <b>CMS on Dev</b>
    <i>DEV URL: DEV
    QA URL: QA
    PRD URL: PRD</i>
In this process of upgrade, we copied our DEV system along with CMS on to EVAL. Before we upgrade DEV box, we tested the CMS that is copied on to EVAL. So we set the following on EVAL CMS
    <b>CMS on EVAL</b>
    <i>DEV URL: EVAL
    QA URL: DEV
    PRD URL: <NONE></i>
We made sure that CMS service user & pwd are correct and exported a namespace from EVAL. Expectedly, it landed in DEV system. It worked fine.
Now, we had an emergency transport to be sent to PRD, so we have to do it using DEV CMS as PRD is specified there only. Before we did this, we removed the settings from EVAL CMS.(QA URL: DEV)
But, when we export the namespace from DEV, the transport goes in to status 'Waiting for Export' and doesnt appear in the consolidation tab of DEV CMS.
We tried to click on the button 'Update CMS', but it did not work. We are wondering if DEV system still assuming that it is linked to EVAL CMS. Do we explicitly specify the CMS hostname for an XI environment (in exchange profile or somewhere else)? Or, does the XI system determine it at runtime?
Please help me in understanding this flow logic between CMS & XI. I highly appreciate your inputs.
Hope I'm clear, let me know if you have questions.
The last thing we want to do is restore the DEV box using the back-up copy.
    thx in adv
    praveen

    Rama Krishna,
    > it doesn't make any meaning if we install XI and ask
    > to USE CMS of different HOSTNAME.(like specifying CMS
    > DEV as "QUALITY").
As I said earlier, not all the XI systems in the landscape have a "separate" CMS. They all are connected to one CMS...it can either be on the same box as XI DEV or XI QA or PRD or Soln. Mngr. Hope you understand this.
Now, my question is...for an XI box should I "explicitly" specify the host name of the CMS?
eg. in my case, I've the CMS on the same box as XI DEV. Now, do I need to explicitly specify the CMS hostname (i.e. hostname of XI DEV) in exchange profile of XI QA & XI PRD?
Coming to the DEV URL, QA URL & PRD URL, I'm talking about setting these values in the 'Tracks' tab. Please refer to pg 31 of <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/f85ff411-0d01-0010-0096-ba14e5db6306">How To Transport XI Content Using CMS</a>
    > XI implictly takes local HostName for CMS.
if this is the case, that means XI DEV, XI QA & XI PRD will have separate CMS...sicne each one uses the CMS on the localbox as you say.
Somehow each XI box is told the CMS hostname.
    Am I clear?

  • ChaRM in two system landscape

    Hello Everyone,
I want to implement ChaRM for BIW systems which is a two system landscape: BIWDEV and BIWLIVE . Is it posible to implement ChaRm in a two system landscape /we need three system landscape only for it.I started the ChaRM configuration work but faced certain issues over which i was told tat Charm needs three systems for implementation. Kindly plz suggest and confirm.
    Regards,
    Somya

    Hey Somya,
2 system landscape will also work with CHARM.
CHARM can also be configured in single system landscape.
But the bottomline is you require in all 3 clients to realize charm.
These three clients can belong to same or diffrent systems altogether.
For you i would say, u will require 2 clients in BIWDEV system ( Say BIWDEV:100 as development cleint and BIWDEV:200 as Test client ).
Now you have BIWLIVE system which is our production system, so you require 1 client BIWLIVE system..
So your 3 clients are ready and Change Request management can be realized..
Please Reward with points if this postv was usefull..
    Revert For ne clarifications ..
