Didn't receive 10% bonus or points for GCU

Hey there,
Just wanted to report that I traded-in about $200 worth of games on 11/2 and didn't receive my 10% bonus during the transaction. Staff said they logged my GCU in when doing the trade, but I'm also not seeing the points on my Account History. Anything we can do to get me that bonus and the missing points?

Sorry to hear your Gamers' Club Unlocked bonuses might not have been applied to your recent trade! As long as your My Best Buy membership information was captured during the transaction, then these bonuses should have applied automatically.

    I just did a game trade in at the store by my employer and while I did receive the 30% bonus, I never received the extra 10% bonus. I even reminded the employee about several times before the completed trade about this and while he was nice, seemed to ignore what I was trying to inform him. I received the 10% extra on top of the extra 30% on Friday when I did a game trade in.

  • I didn't receive the activation e-mail for iMessage. What do I do?

    A bit of background info: I haven't activated my iPhone yet, but I want to temporarily use my Apple ID for iMessage. However, I did not receive the e-mail for the activation. My e-mail is notoriously bad at receiving any sort of e-mail, but I cannot create a new Apple ID.     What should i do if i am already waiting for my code for almost 5 day's and i still didn't heard anything from apple yet?

    Be thankful, I downloaded mine on Friday and spent the whole day Sunday trying to take it off! The can't now my harddrive is failing & I have a Macbook Pro that is bearly 2 years old! Now I have the pleasure of going to the Apple store for face to face tech support since it kept failing with phone support. They said based on the fatal errors my harddrive will have to be reformatted from scratch so they will probably will switch out my Macbook. Bummer!

    I selected the free app from the choices in the ovi store and follow the steps to send to my mobile phone. I entered the phone # as instructed and received a msg that the text msg had been sent and to check my phone for a text msg containing a link to install the app. I never rec'd the text msg containing the link. What went wrong?

    Just forget about this issue..which is a well known long standing one. (Actually it may be Operator related...). Go to OVI Store thru' your phone's browser ... select the application and then the 'DOWNLOAD' tab..

    Earlier today, I had went to Best Buy and traded in a few games, with my gamers club membership included, however when checking my points balance right now online, I don't seem to see anything reflecting the points for the trade in that I had done.

    There is a possibility that your My Best Buy™ account was not attached to the trade-in you made back on 2/28/2015, especially if the 10% bonus for being Unlocked was not added to the gift card you received.  As I mentioned above, it can take up to 20 days for points to officially post to a member's account, and we do need to allow a full 20 days before exploring other options.
    If points for that trade-in do not post to your My Best Buy™ account by the end of tomorrow (20th day), then I will respond to the private message that you sent me to see what I can do to further assist.  You can check your private messages by logging into the forum and clicking on the little yellow envelope icon located at the top of the page.

  • 2 Questions for a New GCU Member: I Didn't Receive 2x the My Best Buy Points and my Welcome Coupons

    Hello, I just signed up for a My Gamer's Club Unlocked membership at my local Best Buy store today, and after signing up for it, I used it when purchasing two games: Splatoon ($47.99 with GCU) and The Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask 3D ($31.99 with GCU). I checked my account after purchasing these two games, and it doesn't seem like i'm getting 2x the My Best Buy points on each game. I may be mistaken about this (I'm still really new to this whole membership), but I believe you're supposed to get 2 My Best Buy points for every dollar you spend on new video games if you have the GCU membership. For example, if I spent $47.99 on Splatoon, instead of getting 47 My Best Buy points, I should be getting 94 My Best Buy points. Similarly, if I spent $31.99 on Majora's Mask 3D, I should get 62 points and not 31 points. On my account, it only shows that I am receiving 47 points for Splatoon and 31 points for Majora's Mask 3D. Maybe it's because the other points I am supposed to get haven't appeared yet and i'm just impatient, but aren't I supposed to be getting double the points for each purchase of a new video game? Also, it might just be because i'm impatient, but where/when am I supposed to receive my welcome coupons for the GCU membership (Buy 2 Pre-Owned Get 1 Free and 50% Off Any Strategy Guide)? I'm really excited for the 50% off coupon so that I can get the Splatoon game guide for $7.50!  Thanks in advance!

    Like your Welcome Packet situation, I believe that patience is going to be the key here. The Welcome Packet can take 2-3 business days to receive, as you experienced with yours. Bonus Points work a bit differently. Any bonus My Best Buy points may take 15-20 days to post to your My Best Buy membership. During this timeframe, they may or may not even show as pending.

  • Bonus points for pre-ordering X-Men: Days of Future Past

    I ordered this blu-ray the same day as I did for Captain America: The Winter's Soldier.  I received my 100 bonus points for Captain America a few weeks ago.  However, when I checked my account this morning for the bonus points on X-Men, it only showed 1 point (instead of 100).  I was wondering what happened to it.  Thanks for any info you can offer.

    We did have a promotion between 8/31/2014 and 9/6/2014 that was offering 100 bonus points with select pre-orders.  This offer was only available on BestBuy.com, there was a limit of 100 bonus points per title, and a maximum of 600 bonus points per member.  If your pre-order of X-Men: Days of Future Past was placed while the offer was valid, then 100 bonus points should post to your My Best Buy account within about 20 days.  You may not see those bonus points emerge as pending or post until after your pre-order is fulfilled.
    If you do not see 100 bonus points post to your My Best Buy account within 20 days of your pre-order being shipped or picked up, then please feel free to send me a private message and I will see what I can do to help.  You can send a private message by clicking on the blue button within my signature.

  • Missing bonus points for South Park?

    94 points was added to my pending points...I thought 500 was going to be pending? Do I get both the 94 points and a 10 dollar certificate? I talked to someone yesterday, THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT. I called the elite hotline today, the person said they were gonna check up on me, but never came back to the phone and the call ended.
    I am getting tired of bestbuy's customer service. Can you tell me how this 10 dollar promo works? I saw a post about the titanfall console bundle, how a rep said they would receive the 10 dollars and the points for the console. If I get a 10 dollar certificate and the 94 points, thats awesome. I just want somoene to clarify. I want to use this certificate towards infamous second son.

    Thank you for pre-ordering South Park: The Stick of Truth from Best Buy.  I can answer your question today.
    For the Get $10 promotion points will post to a customer's account in about 20 days after the purchase.  While it is common for these points to appear as pending on a My Best Buy account, they may not.
    If for any reason an account holder does not see their eligible points post after the standard time, he or she can reach out to us here and we will be happy to check on that with them.

  • My preorder was cancelled by in store rep, I didn't receive my preorder bonus

    I preordered MLB The Show Anniversary Edition, in store. When I arrived for pickup, the case was crushed. It was the only copy they had.
    The rep told me he'd have one sent to my home. All good.
    EXCEPT...what I didn't realize at the time was, he ended up cancelling my preorder when he did whatever he did to get my $5 deposit onto the new order he placed to ship to my home.
    The preorder bonus was for a MLB controller skin, $19.99 value.
    Last week I spent 20 mins on a call with a BB rep, who I explained everything to, and she said I would receive an email within 2 hours. Over a week later, I still haven't heard back from anyone.

    I've had the chance to review your account and it looks like the points for Madden NFL 15 posted to your account some time ago. If you haven't already done so, I'd encourage you to double-check your points history going back to the date you placed your order. As far as Destiny is concerned though, remember that it can take up to 20 days for pre-order bonus certificates to post once an eligible title has been picked up or shipped.

  • Haven't received points for watchdogs preorder

    I preordered watch dogs for ps4 (Order Number: {Removed per Forum Guidelines}) online for in-store pickup, and picked it up on release day (Tuesday). As of yet the transaction still has not posted to my "my best buy" account... It doesn't even show as pending, just not there. I see there is a place to enter missing purchases but because I preordered it and should receive 500 bonus points, I'm hesitant to enter it there. Any idea why it hasn't posted yet?

    it can take up to 20 days from the date an eligible title is picked up or shipped for pre-order bonus certificates to post, so I wouldn't worry just yet.   • Never Received Points for an Ipad Air Purchase even When No Financing Was Choosen

    I'm hoping to find resolution on this matter, so I'm posting it here. I did call customer service many times and to no avail. as well as the credit card company. It was just a waste of time and I was frustrated at the lack of knowledge (I was told different things), the wait time, and their lack of effort to help you. In my last call, they gave me a claim number as they will let the back office research it. I read a post that the back office was no help as well, so I'm posting it here.
    I ordered an Ipad Air online at a store last June 2014 and at the same time I applied for the credit card with a membership in your program. The guy who helped me told me that I will earn points with purchases and can convert it to a reward certificate to use. Points doesn't expire but when converted to certificate, the certificate does. Anyway, last week I went to purchase something fron Best Buy and ask for my points balance. The lady told me that I don't have a reward certificate, but said I have to open an account online to check my points. I opened an account online and to my surprised I didn't get any points for my purchase. I called your customer service and was told that my purchase was already more than 3 months and too late to report missing points, One customer service told me, it needs to be reported within 6 months. One was even rude and blamed me for not checking and that I should just let it go and stop wasting my time and that sometimes, even when you use your credit card, it fails to attached the purchase. Best Buy Customer Service is really something! I called the credit card customer service and asked why my purchase was not attached to my membership ID when I use my credit card. I was trasferred to the Rewards customer service and was told that points were not given because I choose Zero Financing. I told her  that I choose No Financing and was eligible for double points as stated in my receipt. She put me on hold and consult a specialist. She told me that I choose Zero Finacing and I said that's not true. She trasferred me to the credit card customer service to verify and I told her to stay in the line. She hanged up before the credit card customer service confirmed that I had no financing ( I paid in full when I got my statement). I called the Rewards customer service who opened a claim and told me that the back office will research my claim. At this point, I'm not hopeful, so I'm hoping somebody can help me. It does state in my receipt that I choose No Financing for double reward points.

    Welcome to the Best Buy forum, and thank you for posting.
    Before we get to the heart of the matter at hand, I would strongly suggest saving yourself the time and not calling Citibank again because they have no say over the My Best Buy program.  I would also suggest that you read over the Program Terms because whatever information you may have been told is not exactly correct.  A certificate will be automatically issued based on your certificate preference (defaults at $5) and points can be forfeited if an account goes 12 consecutive months without activity.
    With that out of the way, I can confirm that the iPad you ordered back in June 2014 did post to your My Best Buy account.  You should be able to see that order by logging into your My Best Buy account and scrolling your purchase history back to 2014; however, you were not awarded any points because the iPad was applied to a 12 month promotional financing offer.  As you have come to find out, any purchases that are applied to a promotional financing offer do not qualify for points (base or bonus).
    I do want to apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced, as you should not have had to spend so much time on the phone trying to get all of this figured out.  I am going to send you a private message so that I can gather some additional information and to go over your My Best Buy account with you.  To check your private messages, you will want to log into the forum and click on the little yellow envelope icon located at the top of the page.
