Diff. currencies for GL a/cs in one COA?

Friends,
1. What is the significance of having different currencies for GL accounts in one chart of accounts?
2. Can one coy code have one currency and other coy code have different currency?
3. If fiscal years are different for 2 different company codes with USD and INR currencies respectively, how do you generate combined reports in USD currency?
Will surly assign points.
Thanks

Hi
CoA is independent of comapny codes. So u can define one chart of account and assign it to as many company codes as possibles.
However CoA contains two segments
Pl read the following link for CoA
http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_02/helpdata/en/e5/078d0b4acd11d182b90000e829fbfe/frameset.htm
So u have Char of accounts area which is common across all company codes.
Where as company code segment may be different for different company codes which may contain currency field status variant and other related settings.
You normally defined currency at the company code level
So company codes which contain same chart of account may be posted in different currencies. And they may be assigned to different fiscal year since they are the assignment at the company code level and not at the chart of account level
If you want to merge or consolidate companies with different currencies then u need to maintain group currency.
This is fist defined at the client level tcode SCC4 and then at the company code level as parallel currency or additional currency (type 30)
When u are posting at locan currency which could be INR and if u deifne USd as group currency system will tranlate based on the exchange rate defined at the echange rate table
Then you consolidate ur accounts either through consolidation module
Hope this will give you some idea about CoA, Group currency and consolidation

    Hi, Expert,
Is it possible to assign different currencies for multiple line items in a AP invoice?
    Eg:
One vendor is supplying raw materials from different regions, and we have to raise one invoice with different currency rate  to each items
    regards,

    Hi Sanju,
It is not possible to assign different currencies for multiple line items in a AP invoice.
Try to book the different documents(different correncies for a single vendor in a A/P Invoice).

  • DIFFERENT Currencies for PO Line Item

    Hi Frndz,
On a Purchase Order with more than one line item, the different items can have prices with DIFFERENT currencies?
In my case first line item currency is getting copied to all line item and after that, currency feild is grayed out. But client want me to configure different currencies for different line item if possible.
    Thanks,

    Hi
Currency filed is depending on Vendor master.
In Vendor master u'll define the currency.
IN ME21N, if u enter the vendor it will automatically default.
    Check it out.

  • F110 Payment with different currencies for a vendor

We want to run a payment in transaction F110, where we have different currencies for the same vendor.
An example: We have a debit invoice on 100 € and a credit memo on 50 SEK.
When the payment is run, the currencies are not summarized into one record but two separate. One for each currency. We would like to have it in one record. Is this possible?

    Hi
you can adjust the payment currency for one of them to be in same currency as the another one and you will see at F110 that the program read both document in same currency

in the third activity (General act)  in cost tab i put a currency is different than project currency& company code currency and tried to save the project, the message appears.
note: Company code curr same as projet curr & controlling area curr

Conversion error in company code currency for general costs activity 0010
    Message no. CK443
    Diagnosis
For cost activity 0010, a conversion error occurred in the currency of the company code to which the material is assigned.
    Procedure
Check the global settings in Customizing to be sure the exchange rate for conversion into the company code currency is correct
    Thanks

    Hi Yassin,
I believe you have maintained exchange rates for rate type M as per your config in OPSB.
Now do one thing, maintain the conversion rate for P for those currencies in OB08 and then save your project.
    This will solve your problem.

  • Program position with any currency for availability check - PS/IM

    Hi,
    I have the following scenario:
    1. Controlling area currency is USD. Local currency is BRL. We do purchase req.(CJ20n) for materials and services in USD, BRL and EUR. The P.O. is done in a second moment through MM.
    2. Investment program uses USD for checking availability control. The currency for any program position is also USD.
    3. System performs the availability control using exchange rate cat. "M" in OB08. We buy within one of those 3 currencies (USD, BRL and EUR), it translates to USD, and then we see how much was committed in USD.
Because of these differences between dates in exchange rates, the client wants the system to perform availability check with any currency.
For exemple: if we have USD 1000 in program position on 04.15.09 at rate of BRL 2,40 we would have BRL 2400 to purchase. If the P.O. is posted in a different date with a different exchange rate we would have more (or less) value to purchase depending on the rate, say 06.15.09 rate is 3,0 we would have BRL 3000 in local currency.
The client doesn't want this to happen. they want to commit only the first value.
They want that in IM program position would have for branch XYZ 3 different limits, one for each currency say 1000 USD, 2000 BRL and 1000 EUR. When P.R. is done it would check what currency is buying, perform availabilty check and then commit only the value requested and avoid increase or decrease values in local currency.
As long as I know IM standard doesn't work this way. Some thoughts and ideas would be a great help.
    Best Regards,
    Ubiratan Chaves.

    Hi Ubiratan,
I understand that you are doing availability control on USD (controlling area currency), although the statement in your point 2. should be corrected - the availability control is not tied to the IM program but to the budget profile used in the project...
Availability control per transaction currency is not possible...you can have availability in controlling area currency, as you have...or in object currency (which for a project in your case would have to be local currency)...you can try this, but it only works if your project hierarchy is using the same currency (I just faced a similar issue and had to also use USD because the proejct had multicurrency WBS in it...)
Bottom line...maybe you can try "adjust" the budget to the currency fluctuations with transaction IMCRC3...the idea would be to use a specific exchange rate type that has the current exchange rate and run this transaction to "trim" the budget to the real exchange rate...
    hope it helps,
    Luis

  • Material Ledger Additional local currencies for company code

    Hi Expert,
I would like to add a second local currency in the "Additional local currencies for company code" in order to have 2 currencies available for material ledger. (Material ledger is not yet activated for this company code)
The second local currency must be the group one "30". Could you please tell me wich valuation I have to choose ? 0 1 or 2.
I went on the SAP library but I didn't find something clear. I tried 1 but I have an error message...
    Thanks and regards

  • Additional local currencies for company code

We are using company code currency INR -The clients wants additional currency USD as 2nd local currency--In OB22 the
2nd local currency -we want to give it to USD
2nd local currency is also by default system is showing INR-
and it is in grey field-how to enter USD for 2nd local currency-
for 2nd local currency we have given the following data:
    currency type: 30 group currency
    valuation 1 group valuation
    exchange rate type: m
CO is active for this company code-
how to enter USD as 2nd local currency
    regards
    joseph

    Hello  Joseph,
Currency & valuation are considered as life blood of ERP systems as such those should be managed intelligently right from the day 1.
Additional currencies cannot be activated once the company code is live!
One needs to evaluate various options available, depending upon your requirements and system & solution landscape.
However due to hugh impact of such changes, it would be better to take the help of SAP SLO services.

  • Source currency in OB22 (Additional Local Currencies for Company Code)

    Hi!
I'm setting up a third local currency for one of my company codes and the only source currency options I have are "Translation taking transaction currency as a basis" and "Translation taking first local currency as a basis".  I need to have my third local currency translation basis be the second local currency  (which is not an option).  I've already set my company code currency and have done postings, so I cannot change that.  Is there a way to add another source currency option?
    Thanks!
    Laura

    Laura,
I don't think there is way to specify second local currency as a basis for translation.  Only options 1 and 2 are available in OB22.

  • Multiple input currencies for a single entity

My client must support multiple currencies for any given Entity.  For instance, Spanish Company #1 must be able to record transactions (sales and purchases/costs) in both Euros and in British Pounds, since both currencies are used by this entity.  Since, by the default configuration, an Entity can only support one currency (LC), I am searching for alternatives.
    Option 1:
Use a user-defined dimension, such as a Geography dimension, as the dimension that is tied to Rate, and modify the FX scripts accordingly.  The Spanish Company #1 will remain in the Entity Type dimension.
    Option 2:
Assign a different dimension as the Entity Type, such as a Geography dimension.  And make the former Entity Type dimension, where the Spanish Company #1 lives, into a user-defined dimension.
Are their other options to consider?
We are planning on supporting multiple reporting currencies (it is currently just USD), so we are reluctant to use Option 1, because the business rules may be hard-coded to the Entity dimension (are they?).  We also plan on performing intercompany eliminations down the road, so we are reluctant to use Option 2, since at that time we will be relying on the entity type for those functions.
Thank you for your thoughts on this.

If you're interested, here's some FX translation logic with account-level override. You may be able to modify this to choose some other dimension as your override -- datasrc, or whatever makes most sense.
// Factors that impact currency conversion:

  • Hi guru's what is the diff between for all entries & joins

hi guru's what is the diff between for all entries & joins

    Hi Vasu,
Joins are used to fetch data fast from Database tables:
Tables are joined with the proper key fields to fetch the data properly.
    If there are no proper key fields between tables don't use Joins;
Important thing is that don't USE JOINS FOR CLUSTER tableslike BSEG and KONV.
    Only use for Transparenmt tables.
You can also use joins for the database VIews to fetch the data.
    JOINS
... FROM tabref1 [INNER] JOIN tabref2 ON cond
    Effect
The data is to be selected from transparent database tables and/or views determined by tabref1 and tabref2. tabref1 and tabref2 each have the same form as in variant 1 or are themselves Join expressions. The keyword INNER does not have to be specified. The database tables or views determined by tabref1 and tabref2 must be recognized by the ABAP Dictionary.
In a relational data structure, it is quite normal for data that belongs together to be split up across several tables to help the process of standardization (see relational databases). To regroup this information into a database query, you can link tables using the join command. This formulates conditions for the columns in the tables involved. The inner join contains all combinations of lines from the database table determined by tabref1 with lines from the table determined by tabref2, whose values together meet the logical condition (join condition) specified using ON>cond.
Inner join between table 1 and table 2, where column D in both tables in the join condition is set the same:

Output a list of all flights from Frankfurt to New York between September 10th and 20th, 2001 that are not sold out:
    DATA: DATE LIKE SFLIGHT-FLDATE,
    CARRID LIKE SFLIGHT-CARRID,
    CONNID LIKE SFLIGHT-CONNID.
    SELECT FCARRID FCONNID F~FLDATE
    INTO (CARRID, CONNID, DATE)
FROM SFLIGHT AS F INNER JOIN SPFLI AS P
    ON FCARRID = PCARRID AND
    FCONNID = PCONNID
    WHERE P~CITYFROM = 'FRANKFURT'
    AND P~CITYTO = 'NEW YORK'
    AND F~FLDATE BETWEEN '20010910' AND '20010920'
    AND FSEATSOCC < FSEATSMAX.
    WRITE: / DATE, CARRID, CONNID.
    ENDSELECT.
If there are columns with the same name in both tables, you must distinguish between them by prefixing the field descriptor with the table name or a table alias.
    Note
In order to determine the result of a SELECT command where the FROM clause contains a join, the database system first creates a temporary table containing the lines that meet the ON condition. The WHERE condition is then applied to the temporary table. It does not matter in an inner join whether the condition is in the ON or WHEREclause. The following example returns the same solution as the previous one.
    Example
Output of a list of all flights from Frankfurt to New York between September 10th and 20th, 2001 that are not sold out:
    DATA: DATE LIKE SFLIGHT-FLDATE,
    CARRID LIKE SFLIGHT-CARRID,
    CONNID LIKE SFLIGHT-CONNID.
    SELECT FCARRID FCONNID F~FLDATE
    INTO (CARRID, CONNID, DATE)
FROM SFLIGHT AS F INNER JOIN SPFLI AS P
    ON FCARRID = PCARRID
    WHERE FCONNID = PCONNID
    AND P~CITYFROM = 'FRANKFURT'
    AND P~CITYTO = 'NEW YORK'
    AND F~FLDATE BETWEEN '20010910' AND '20010920'
    AND FSEATSOCC < FSEATSMAX.
    WRITE: / DATE, CARRID, CONNID.
    ENDSELECT.
    Note
Since not all of the database systems supported by SAP use the standard syntax for ON conditions, the syntax has been restricted. It only allows those joins that produce the same results on all of the supported database systems:
Only a table or view may appear to the right of the JOIN operator, not another join expression.
Only AND is possible in the ON condition as a logical operator.
Each comparison in the ON condition must contain a field from the right-hand table.
If an outer join occurs in the FROM clause, all the ON conditions must contain at least one "real" JOIN condition (a condition that contains a field from tabref1 amd a field from tabref2.
    Note
In some cases, '*' may be specified in the SELECT clause, and an internal table or work area is entered into the INTO clause (instead of a list of fields). If so, the fields are written to the target area from left to right in the order in which the tables appear in the FROM clause, according to the structure of each table work area. There can then be gaps between table work areas if you use an Alignment Request. For this reason, you should define the target work area with reference to the types of the database tables, not simply by counting the total number of fields. For an example, see below:
    Variant 3
... FROM tabref1 LEFT [OUTER] JOIN tabref2 ON cond
    Effect
Selects the data from the transparent database tables and/or views specified in tabref1 and tabref2. tabref1 und tabref2 both have either the same form as in variant 1 or are themselves join expressions. The keyword OUTER can be omitted. The database tables or views specified in tabref1 and tabref2 must be recognized by the ABAP-Dictionary.
In order to determine the result of a SELECT command where the FROM clause contains a left outer join, the database system creates a temporary table containing the lines that meet the ON condition. The remaining fields from the left-hand table (tabref1) are then added to this table, and their corresponding fields from the right-hand table are filled with ZERO values. The system then applies the WHERE condition to the table.

    BOOKING-BOOKID.
    ENDSELECT.
If there are columns with the same name in both tables, you must distinguish between them by prefixing the field descriptor with the table name or using an alias.
    Note
For the resulting set of a SELECT command with a left outer join in the FROM clause, it is generally of crucial importance whether a logical condition is in the ON or WHERE condition. Since not all of the database systems supported by SAP themselves support the standard syntax and semantics of the left outer join, the syntax has been restricted to those cases that return the same solution in all database systems:
Only a table or view may come after the JOIN operator, not another join statement.
The only logical operator allowed in the ON condition is AND.
Each comparison in the ON condition must contain a field from the right-hand table.
Comparisons in the WHERE condition must not contain a field from the right-hand table.
The ON condition must contain at least one "real" JOIN condition (a condition in which a field from tabref1 as well as from tabref2 occurs).
    Note
In some cases, '*' may be specivied as the field list in the SELECT clause, and an internal table or work area is entered in the INTO clause (instead of a list of fields). If so, the fields are written to the target area from left to right in the order in which the tables appear in the llen in der FROM clause, according to the structure of each table work area. There can be gaps between the table work areas if you use an Alignment Request. For this reason, you should define the target work area with reference to the types of the database tables, as in the following example (not simply by counting the total number of fields).
    Example
Example of a JOIN with more than two tables: Select all flights from Frankfurt to New York between September 10th and 20th, 2001 where there are available places, and display the name of the airline.
    DATA: BEGIN OF WA,
    FLIGHT TYPE SFLIGHT,
    PFLI TYPE SPFLI,
    CARR TYPE SCARR,
    END OF WA.
    SELECT * INTO WA
FROM ( SFLIGHT AS F INNER JOIN SPFLI AS P
    ON FCARRID = PCARRID AND
    FCONNID = PCONNID )
    INNER JOIN SCARR AS C
    ON FCARRID = CCARRID
    WHERE P~CITYFROM = 'FRANKFURT'
    AND P~CITYTO = 'NEW YORK'
    AND F~FLDATE BETWEEN '20010910' AND '20010920'
    AND FSEATSOCC < FSEATSMAX.
    WRITE: / WA-CARR-CARRNAME, WA-FLIGHT-FLDATE, WA-FLIGHT-CARRID,
    WA-FLIGHT-CONNID.
    ENDSELECT.
    And for all entries,
    this will help u.
    use of FOR ALL ENTRIES:
    1. INNER JOIN
    DBTAB1 <----
    > DBTAB2
It is used to JOIN two DATABASE tables
    having some COMMON fields.
    2. Whereas
    For All Entries,
    DBTAB1 <----
    > ITAB1
is not at all related to two DATABASE tables.
It is related to INTERNAL table.
    3. If we want to fetch data
    from some DBTABLE1
    but we want to fetch
    for only some records
which are contained in some internal table,
then we use for alll entries.
    1. simple example of for all entries.
    2. NOTE THAT
    In for all entries,
it is NOT necessary to use TWO DBTABLES.
    (as against JOIN)
    3. use this program (just copy paste)
    it will fetch data
    from T001
FOR ONLY TWO COMPANIES (as mentioned in itab)
    4
    REPORT abc.
DATA : BEGIN OF itab OCCURS 0,
    bukrs LIKE t001-bukrs,
    END OF itab.
DATA : t001 LIKE TABLE OF t001 WITH HEADER LINE.
    itab-bukrs = '1000'.
    APPEND itab.
    itab-bukrs = '1100'.
    APPEND itab.
    SELECT * FROM t001
    INTO TABLE t001
    FOR ALL ENTRIES IN itab
    WHERE bukrs = itab-bukrs.
    LOOP AT t001.
    WRITE :/ t001-bukrs.
    ENDLOOP.
    cheers,
    Hema.

  • Invoice posting with different currency for the same PO

    Hi,
Can we post the the Invoice with different currencies for the same PO.
    For example.
PO has Qty 100 pcs.  amount 100 USD
    GR   Qty 100 pcs.
Is it possible to post Invoice of 50 pc with 50 USD, and 50pcs with some other currency.
    Any sugggestions pls.
    Thanks,
    Satya

    Hello
As per my knowledge, that is not possible.
And in whjat scenario, we need to do that?
In MIRO header itself we have the vendor currency, so it is not posbile to maintain different currency in different line items in MIRO.
If you want, you can do MIRO in different currency that what is in PO.
In the example given, you have o post 2 invoices, one for 50 qty in USD and the other 50 in different currency in other invoice transaction by giving the currency in basic data-invoice header and then only press ENTER after giving the PO number.
    Hope this helps
    Regards
