  • Difference between ITS and Web Application Server

    Hi All,
What is ITS server. Can anyone explain me the difference between ITS and WAS(Web Application Server)
    Thanks
    Harpreet

    Hi Harpreet:
ITS is basically the tool that allow you to use SAP via http. Theres lots of info about <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/0d/654d356560054ce10000009b38f889/frameset.htm">ITS</a> or <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/5f/0ef441ad7bc417e10000000a155106/frameset.htm">WebAS with Integrated ITS</a>
The ITS is a standalone application connected to R3 via RFC connection, In the SAP WebAS the ITS is integrated to the system.
    Hope this help!

  • No difference between High and Normal output sharpening

I was going to post a topic about how small is difference between screen output sharpening settings, when some tests revealed that in fact the difference is nil.
b Can anyone see any difference between Normal and High screen sharpening in applied at export?
I even stacked the two versions in Photoshop with the Difference blending mode on and a Levels adjustment layer amplifying the difference, and even the histogram was showing that I'be got big plain black rectangle.
Sharpening for paper seems to work fine.
    Lightroom 2.3 Windows.

Just took the time to test this on my 'calibration' image and there is indeed no difference in Standard and High sharpening for screen.
Same result with and without resizing image; with and without jpeg compression; with both tif and jpeg files.

  • Difference between admin and normal user

    Hi Community,
how does the user right management works when an admin account is used? In Mac OSX an admin isn't really an admin account  because the user become prompted for the (admin) user password again if he require higher privileges. Microsoft implemented since Windows Vista a similar technique, an administrator account works with a normal user token and if higher privileges are needed, the user will get the UAC dialog to grant higher privileges. This is done by providing the user an admin token temporarily.
Is this the same way Mac OSX works or is this done by a different technique?

For further reading and improving your knowledge security beyond "root" and "sudo", there are Apple's security guides and the US NSA/CIA operating system security configuration guides.  Both of these resources are a little dated, but the underpinnings of the operating system and its security have not changed significantly; what you learn will still be valid, though there can be some features of newer releases (such as the profile manager, the lack of installed Java) that might be useful.
Thanks a lot. The link  to the Mac OS security configuration guide seems to be broken but I took a short look into the Linux guide and this is also very interesting, even if I'm not using Redhat but Debian.

  • MSI application and "normal" application package issue

    Hello,
I have an application (called PRO/II v8.3) that I need to package.
The application is delivered with a .msi installation file or/and a .exe file
Both ways works fine with a manual install.
    - First install with the .msi:
The msi install is the easiest but when logged in as a 'normal' user the msi install fails with error code 1603. Apparently the msi needs Admin right to execute. I called the software provider and there is no other way to execute the installation.
One way to install the .msi through zenworks correctly is to associate the application to the workstation and allow the app to launch in the worsktation reserved memory space (distribution option). But this way isn't correct for us because our users usually switch workstations, and this app isn't delivered to all users...
    -Install with .exe file :
The install process goes Ok. The snapshot seems to be Ok but when delivering the app through zenworks, the application is unable to launch.
It shows a windows installer window again and again.
Looks like the snapshot process didn't took all the files or registry.
I'm unable to find out what is missing.
Is there any way to get out of this mess?
    Any help is highly appreciated!

Ah, well I have always said that the MSI installer is utterly braindead..

Did you do the snapshot on an absolutely clean machine? I use a virgin Xp
    VM for that.
One way, although tedious to find out what it wants is to use
filemon/regmon to see what it loops for

Yes the snapshot is made from a fresh install workstation.
I tried to check the differences between 2 workstations (one with the snapped app and one with a hand made install).
This application has so many files and it's very very difficult to find out what is missing in the snapped workstation.

  • Difference between JSP and AWT applications in MI

    HI,
Can anyone plz clarify the difference and specific use of AWT n JSP appl in MI.
    As far as i understand:
1)JSP works on browser based UI whereas AWT uses native UI.
2)AWT is faster dan JSP but not compatible with SAP appl.
3)We use AWT in appl like DSD n JSP in MAM,MSR etc.
Plz explain in detail wat r the scenarios in which AWT can be used??
    Regards
    Priyanka

    Hi,
I am a little confused about your point 2...... Why do you think it is not compatible?
Well, the thing is: cause JSP is based on HTML it was easier to build nice user interfaces - and AWT always looked a little strange. As well it was easier to adapt JSP to other layout styles to run the same app on Lapotop/PDA. At the end that is pretty much it.
MI is based on the SyncBO concept - so if you access a SyncBO in JSP or in AWT MI makes no difference and so at the end all that counts is: are you happy with AWT layout or do you need something more native/fancy/..... Well, AWT is limited in some areas - JSP give you much more. That is all limited due to the fact that up to MI7.0 MI runs on Creme with JRE1.1.8 support only.
But MI7.1 now supports JRE1.4.2 even on PDA - and so we have SWT available - and so in 7.1 the default UI is SWT (very very basically we could say, this is the AWT direction - but really only if we really want to compare 7.0 and 7.1)
    Hopefully you got it.

  • Difference between LIV and Normal Invoice document

    Hi Guys,
What is the difference between an LIV invoice and a normal FI invoice document.
Are the entries different or something.
In which cases do we go for LIV invoicing.
    thanks
    srik.

    Hi,
LIV is useful for verifying goods which related to MM. When goods purchased or when received verifying the invoice details like quantity, rate, invoice number etc., PO with the invoice. LIV is linked to FI and MM. But FI inovice is creating only in FI, it no where linked to any module.
Entries are different in both cases.

  • What is the difference between abstract and normal class

What will be the difference if I replaced :
    public abstract MyWork {
    [/code]
    by public MyWork { ........
    THanks in Advance
    Tleis

To clear all that up for those guys:
An abstract class must be subclassed or instantiated as an anonymous class. It can have any of the same members as a regular class and in addition it can define abstract methods. Any abstract methods must be implemented by the subclass or else that class too must be declared abstract.
An abstract class is different from an interface. Java gives you only a single ancester in your class hierarchy. You will force an implementation to become a descendant of your abstract class -- and therefore no other. In "object oriented programming", the term "an 'is-a' relationship" is used to describe that relationship between any subclass and its superclass. However you like to put it: this is the relationship you will be defining when you write your abstract class.

  • Difference between Downpayment and normal invoice in updating BSEG table

    Hi,
I created 2 different documents, 1 invoice via FB60 and 1 downpayment request between F-47.
After which i perform a payment run via F110 on both documents and i realised that the bank account id for the document created via F-47 is not updated in the field HBKID for the BSEG table. However, HBKID is updated for the invoice created via FB60.
I would like to if this is correct or if there is any config i need to perform for the HBKID field to be updated for document created via F-47.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
Please, look at the following note 524942. It should solve your problem...

maybe pro*c/c++ is a choice . but if it can't run much faster ,

I'm looking at a new 15" MBP. What performance difference will I likely see between the Radeon 6490M and 6750M? It's a huge jump in graphics memory, but how much will it help me? I'm not a gamer at all, but I do a fair amount of work with photos and video.

  • OBA3 (Customer / Vendor Tolerance) and OBA4 (FI Tolerancde Group for User)

    Hi Expert,
With reference to the subject of this post, could anyone can highlight to me the actual difference between these 2 tolerance settings?
I use OBA4 to set the payment different for cash discount and payment differences, and it works.
Therefore, I wonder what is the main functions for OBA3?  Any inter-relation between this 2 tolerance settings?
Both settings also have the section of "Permitted payment difference"...
In OBA3, the help files says that ... "In this step, you specify the tolerances for vendors. These tolerances are used for dealing with differences in payment and residual items which can occur during payment settlement..."
    Kindly advise.
    Thanks and regards,
    Sbmel

    Thanks for the fast reply.
Therefore, technically to say that if I want to limit the cash discount given or received, from vendor/customer, I can just create "OBA4 setup user wise, and you assign this group to user" ... and from this settings, I just need to create:
    Group: <Blank>
Company Code: My desired company code
Currency: company code currency (defaulted per company code)
Cash Discount per line item to: 0
and at the permitted payment difference section:
Revenue: Cash discount adj to: 0
Expense: Cash discount adj to: 0
    Right?
    Thanks

  • DIfference Between User Exits, Screen Exits, Menu Exits And BADI

Could any one let me know the exact/practical dIfference Between User Exits, Screen Exits, Menu Exits And BADI. ? And why BADIs are more proned to use?

    Hi,
    User Exits:
A user exit is a three character code that instructs the system to access a program during system processing.
SXX: S is for standard exits that are delivered by SAP.   XX represents the 2-digit exit number.
UXX: U is for user exits that are defined by the user.  XX represents the 2-digit exit number
    Menu Exits:
Menu exits add items to the pulldown menus in standard SAP applications. You can use these menu items to call up your own screens or to trigger entire add-on applications.
SAP creates menu exits by defining special menu items in the Menu Painter. These special entries have function codes that begin with "+" (a plus sign). You specify the menu item’s text when activating the item in an add-on project.
    Screen Exits:
Screen exits add fields to screens in R/3 applications. SAP creates screen exits by placing special subscreen areas on a standard R/3 screen and calling a customer subscreen from the standard screen’s flow logic.
    BADIs:
Business Add-Ins are a new SAP enhancement technique based on ABAP Objects. They can be inserted into the SAP System to accommodate user requirements too specific to be included in the standard delivery. Since specific industries often require special functions, SAP allows you to predefine these points in your software.
And why BADIs are more proned to use?
In contrast to above customer exits, Business Add-Ins no longer assume a two-level infrastructure (SAP and customer solutions), but instead allow for a multi-level system landscape (SAP, partner, and customer solutions, as well as country versions, industry solutions, and the like). Definitions and implementations of Business Add-Ins can be created at each level within such a system infrastructure.
SAP guarantees the upward compatibility of all Business Add-In interfaces. Release upgrades do not affect enhancement calls from within the standard software nor do they affect the validity of call interfaces. You do not have to register Business Add-Ins in SSCR.
The Business Add-In enhancement technique differentiates between enhancements that can only be implemented once and enhancements that can be used actively by any number of customers at the same time. In addition, Business Add-Ins can be defined according to filter values. This allows you to control add-in implementation and make it dependent on specific criteria (on a specific Country value, for example).
All ABAP sources, screens, GUIs, and table interfaces created using this enhancement technique are defined in a manner that allows customers to include their own enhancements in the standard. A single Business Add-In contains all of the interfaces necessary to implement a specific task.
The actual program code is enhanced using ABAP Objects. In order to better understand the programming techniques behind the Business Add-In enhancement concept, SAP recommends reading the section on ABAP Objects.
