Different GC time on identical servers

I have 3 identical servers in a clustered environment with the same hardware and applications, even the java arguments are the same. However, I am seeing a different GC timing across the 3 servers. One of the servers is doing major GC at about every 5-10 seconds for about 2.2 seconds (this one is doing major GC only). One of them is doing major GC at about 40-60 seconds for about 2 seconds. The other one is doing major GC at 20-30 seconds for about 1.8 seconds.
I can understand even the servers have the same applications, they are probably serving out different pages. But what's the best way for GC tuning? Is this mean GC tuning will be server specific and NOT applications specific?
Thanks.

The 10g is the client which the code running faster then the 11g
You keep making statements like that but so far you haven't posted ANYTHING to support them.
And you said this:
The execution time of the same pl/sql procedure is different, in those systems.(They are running the same code from the application).
but you haven't posted:
1. ANYTHING to support that statement
2. ANY any actual execution times
3. ANY info about how you measured those times
4. ANY info about what the procedure actually does
5. ANY of the code for the procedure
6. ANY info about whether the 10g client user is the same as the procedure owner and the 11g client user.
The procedure executes on the server - the client isn't involved in the procedure execution.
That procedure 'could be' doing different things with different tables and objects if it is defined as INVOKER RIGHTS and the two client 'invokers' are different users.
If you want help you need to SHOW us the code and how you are executing the code and how you are measuring the times, etc.

  • BPC taking far too long to install on 2 of 3 identical servers

    Hi all
Has anyone ever found a situation where any of your servers take much longer to install BPC than one or more of your others?
    I have 3 identical servers:
    Hardware:  HP ProLiant DL360-G5
    CPU:                2 x Quad-core 2.33GHz Intel Xeon
    RAM:          3.25GB
    O/S:           Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard x86 SP2
One of them installs BPC in around 8 minutes, but the other 2 each take around 1.5 hours.
The main verification is in the folder C:\BPC\Websrvr\BIN
The timestamps on the files on the fast server are all within 3 minutes (134 files, from 14:17 to 14:20 on the date of installation)
On the slower ones, the timestamps are 15:24 to 16:24 for the same files (it took about 1hr 5 minutes to install this last time)
As soon as the "Copying files" section was done, the rest just stormed through to the end of installation.
It seems really odd that 2/3 would have this problem.  If it was just 1 then I would assume that there is an issue with the hardware, but for 2 to have the same issue ???
Finally, we run McAfee on these servers.
I disabled it completely on the slow ones, and even left it switched on on the fast one, to see if I could slow it down, but nothing.
Everything went through in exactly the same way.
Can anyone offer any help, as we are wondering if this could be indicative of performance issues to come as we load these servers up with users at some future point.
    Thanks
    Craig

    Thanks Akim.
I copied a 13GB file and found one server completing in 9.5 minutes and the other 2 taking 15 minutes
I found that the Array Read/Write caching on the servers was different.
On the fast one, it was set to 50/50 Read/Write
On the slow one, it was set to 25/75 Read/Write
Once I changed the setting, there was still a bit of a diffrerence (which I'll continue looking for), but the slow servers are now transferring the file in under 11 minutes, so a big percentage difference there.
    Thanks again for the pointers

  • Error in report RSPOR_SETUP : "Different Server Times"

    Hi,
I installed BI 7 and I have configured the communication between BI and EP.
When I execute report RSPOR_SETUP to verify the configuration, I am getting the following error message at step 12 (Maintain User Assignment in Portal):
    2. Compare SAP BI and EP Server Time
Different Server Times could be a reason for retrieving always an invalid SAP Logon Ticket.
SAP BI Server Time:             09:08:16   2007/03/23
SAP EP Server Time:            Fri Mar 23 09:08:16 EDT 2007
The time is identical, but it seems that the format I causing me problem.
How can I configure the date format in EP and BI ?
    Best regards,

check the Note: 816761 and pasted it for you. May be this will help you.
There are new options to define how certain date formats (date, timestamp and time properties) will be formatted.
The following keys can be configured in:
    EP6:
Configuration / Global Services / Property Metadata / Properties: Column "Additional Metadata"
    NW04/NW04S:
Configuration / Global Services / Property Metadata / Properties: Select "Mode: Advanced". See column "Additional Metadata".
    -Format
    Use DateFormat defined patterns, DateFormat.SHORT, DateFormat.MEDIUM, DateFormat.LONG.
    Documentation: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/api/java/text/DateFormat.html
    as values: long/medium/short.
    Example: format=long results in
    Date type -> 17 January 2005
    Timestamp -> 17 January 2005 16:09:23
    Time -> 16:09:23
    -customFormat
To set a customer pattern according to documentation: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/api/java/text/SimpleDateFormat.html
If the pattern is not correct, the default date format will be used.
    Example: customFormat=dd.MM.yyyy hh:mm:ss -> 17.01.2005 04:09:23
    Regards.

  • In  iTunes: why different run times for same track?

I have occasional repeats of the same given track stored in iTunes. Sometimes, the 2 identical tracks show different running times. This happens when one track came from the Net (downloaded before I started using iTunes, then imported into iTunes) and the other comes from a commercial CD. Do you know why the differing times? FYI: In each case, I have checked the endings of both tracks; they are identical, so the music is the same even though one track is rated to run [much] longer than the other. Also, in "Get Info" there's a way to change the running time of a track, but this is no solution: if I enter a shorter run time, the track will truncate itself, and finish playing before the proper end of the song -- if I enter a longer time, I get dead air after the end of the recording. Any ideas?

"will iphone users in Singapore have access to application from other countries? "
No. You can buy from the itunes store in the country in which you reside.
Each country has the same rules:
"SINGAPORE ONLY. The Service is available to you only in Singapore and is not available in any other location. You agree not to use or attempt to use the Service from outside of the available territory. iTunes may use technologies to verify such compliance."

  • 2 different lease time on same scope

Hi, is it possible to add 2 different lease time on same scope.
I have server and workstation on the same scope and I want to give the servers longer lease time, than the workstation.

    Hi
It is possible to achieve this in the Windows 2012 and higher versions of DHCP Servers using the feature of DHCP policies. You can create a policy within a scope. In that policy you can specify the type of clients you want this policy enabled for. The type
of clients can be differentiated based on
    MAC Address
    Vendor Class
    User Class
    Client Identifier
Relay Agent Information (and its sub options – remote id, circuit id and subscriber id)
    in DHCP Server 2012
and based on FQDN along with above in DHCP Server 2012 R2.
Once the policy has been created you can set the lease time for the policy as per your needs. For more details you can look at the blog post entry below.

  • Can i have two different face time accounts on one apple id

Would like to have two different face time accounts, one on mac book pro and one on ipad.  Can I have two different face time accounts on one apple id?

You simply need to have a separate e-mail identifier for each.  One e-mail address would be associated with the mac book, the other separate and distinctive e-mail address would be associated with the i pad.  This is done under one single apple id.  Essentialy, the e-mail addresses are the FaceTime calling numbers for each.

How do i run two threads with different sleep times?
Ive got thread A and thread B, they both update a jpanel.
They both start when i press the start button.
However thread A updates every 250ms and thread B updates every 1000ms. i cant just run them both at 250ms becuase this will mess it up.
So for every four runs of thread A i want thread b to only be run once
Does anyone know how to do this?
    Thanks, Ant...

  • Different execution times for back ground jobs - why?

We have few jobs scheduled and each time they run, we see a different execution times. Some times, it increases and some times it decreases steeply . What could be the reasons?
    Note:
    1. We have the same load of jobs on the system in all the cases.
    2. We haven't changed any settings at system level.
    3. Data is more or less at the same range in all the executions.
    4. We mainly run these jobs
    Thanks,
    Kiran

    Thank you Sandra.
We have no RFC calls or other instances. Ours is a very simple system. We have two monster jobs, the first one for HR dataand second an extract program to update a Z table for BW loads.
Our basis and admin confirmed that there are no network issues
Note: We are executing these jobs over the weekend nights.
    Thanks,

  • Contract - Plant Conditions - Different delivery times for plant

    Hi people,
I have a question about contracts , in transaction ME32K.
    I enter a Contract number
    Edit -> Plant Conditions menu.
Select a plant and I can enter a different Net Price for each item for this plant. How can I enter "Planned Delivery Time" for each item for this plant?
In this case, the vendor has different delivery times for each plant and I cannot enter this information.
Do you know if it is possible?
    Thanks a lot!

    Hi,
The basic requirement is for the trading of material which is imported  and for the material which are purchase locally there should be different invoice for such materials,  but while creating the sales order we have only one sales order including all types of materials so in such case we want to create different delivery challans  so that different invoice can be made easily  or only twi invoice for one delivery challan.

  • Different Lead times for supplier in MRP calculation

    Dear All,
We have different suppliers for a material. Different suppliers have different lead times and Min.lot size. Our requirement is when we run MRP system should suggest Pld.Order quantity for the supplier and also take lead time accordingly. I have done splits for suppliers by using Quata arrangement but system is only taking planned delivery time from material master record.
I also defined info records for the vendor and define lead time but still system is taking Pld delivery time from materials master.
    Please help
    Majid Ali khan.

    Hi,
Go to OPPQ, enter your plant then click on External Procurement, there tick the check box Scheduling: Info Rec / Agreement.
This will ensure that the PDT is read from info-record if it exists.
    Hope it clarifies.
    Regards,
    Vivek

  • Can we define different session time-outs for different user types in the DD?

    Hello,
Do you know a way to specify different session time-outs in deployment
    descriptor for different users/roles?
    For example:
Role-A should be invalidated after 10 minutes
Role-B should be invalidated after 100 minutes
Shortly, I would be grateful if you can help,

I don't believe you can timeout a session based on a user or a role. I think
    you can just specify when
all sessions timeout (via the session descriptor). But, you may want to ask
    in the weblogic.developer.interest.servlet newsgroup.

  • Why does the same clip play differently each time I play it?

Playing a flash animation clip in Adobe Media Player plays differently each time I play it.  I'm looking at animation we made that has a left to right move.  Sometimes it plays smoothly, other times it stutters, but the stutters happen at different points each time I play it, and the amount of stuttering changes each time I play it.  I'm trying to decide if the file is acceptable to post on the web, so I'm playing the same 34 second file from my hard drive, each time in succession, yet each play is different.  Boy, if you can help me with this I would sure appreciate it, as it is driving me crazy.  (The same thing happens on other flash players).  And no, the file isn't haunted...

Hello and thank you for trying to help me out. When I click on the itunes icon on my desktop, it does the preparing to install.... on my laptop, when I click on the icon, itunes opens automatically. I really can't figure out why one does this and the other does not.
Apparently, I was not having trouble connecting to the itunes store like I thought. Many other people complain of the same problem I had---the connecting to the itunes store progress bar goes halfway, stops, and then all I see is a blank white page that says itunes store. Well, after playing around, and clicking on VIEW and SHOW sidebar browser, I was able to see the itunes store! Yay!! It was so simple, it was unreal that so many people are having the same problem I thought I was having, connecting, when all that was was a VIEW issue.
As far as my desktop doing the preparing to install, I don't get it. I have uninstalled itunes9 and redownloaded it, reinstalled it. Same problem. Preparing to install. No matter what itunes icon I click on, or even if I click ont he application itself from it's folder. Any ideas?
So just forget about my connection problem---it was not a problem after all. Yet one pc does preparing to install when the itunes icon is clicked on, and the other pc does not. Both are running windows vista home premium. One is a desktop, one a laptop. I can't figure it out.

  • Real-time Blacklist (RBL) Servers are they worth using?

Hi, are Real-time Blacklist (RBL) Servers worth using, and if so what's the best once to use?
    Thanks
    - Cameron

I agree with Joe. Using just Spamhaus is a pretty good approach. Spamhaus is reasonably conservative about blacklisting servers, so it is less likely that you will reject legitimate servers (which can happen with some more aggressive RBLs).
Also, if you are serious about this, download and carefully follow Pterobyte's "Frontline Defense for Mac OSX Server" <http://osx.topicdesk.com/content/view/38/62/>. By implementing his tutorial, you will be fine tuning your server so that it rejects about 70% - 80% of spam before it reaching your content filter. It increases the efficiency of your setup a great deal.
