Different speed related issue than i've ever heard of ------PLEA​SE READ!

Ok so I've been paying for and receiving 3mbps for a few months now with no problems. I recently upgraded to the 4-7 plan because the central office says my house should receive 5mbps just fine. Well a week after asking for the upgrade I received an email saying it was done, but nothing changed.
By the way, both before and after the upgrade, on my router login page it said my speed was 3360 down.
So they sent a tech support guy over to my house this morning, and he ran a bunch of tests. All of them showed I should receive 7.8mbps with no problems. 
READ THIS PART
So while my router is still stuck saying 3360, my attainable in my status page is 8128kbps
So the "change speed" is run in the home field tester site, which changes my routers speed to 5 something(and a speedtest while it was there verified i got 5mbps)
then it slowly changed it down and down until it reached 448
NOW it's stuck at 448 and won't go up no matter what. So my router is the whole reason it never got above 3360 in the first place. Now i'm stuck with IT stuck at 448, and don't know how to get it to go back up.
HOW DO I CHANGE THE SPEED OF MY ROUTER TO ITS ATTAINABLE SPEED LIKE I PAY FOR?

The DSL connection speed is the lower of either the provisioned speed, or the highest speed that the modem can successfully negotiate with the Central Office. You haven't shown us the transceiver statistics, so it is hard to know where the 8192kbps figure comes from. You need to shows us the transceiver statistics, and that is likely to be enlightening.
In any case, there are two suggestions:
1). Unplug your DSL modem/router for 15 minutes,  plug it back in and see what happens.
2). If that doesn't help, call Verizon and ask them to re-provision your service at the correct level.
My guess is that in spite of the upgrade, you have not been reprovisioned for the higher speed, and that is why you are stuck at 3360kbps (which is the correct speed for 3mbps service). Normally that happens online almost immediately after you place the order.
And there is one other issue, just because you can possibly get 8192kbps at the Network Interface box  (NIB) is no assurance that you can get it where the DSL modem is plugged in. House wiring can be an issue.  (are you sure there are DSL filters on all of the telephones?)
So ask the tech to verify the performance at both the NIB and where you plug in the DSL modem. If the household telephone wiring is an issue,that is usually addressed by putting the existing wiring on a 'whole house' DSL filter, and running a new cable directly from the NIB to the location of the DSL modem.

  • I am feeling so ripped off right now. I have wanted a Mac for years and believed the hype about it's stability and I have had more trouble with this Imac 2011 than I have ever had with a pc. It locks up with several software products from APP store.

I have already had to have a technician to look at it and really couldn't figure out what the deal was.  I was told that the APP store software should give me no problems but the truth is that it locks up on the software. This machine is only 4 weeks old and I am using 37 g on a 1 T hard drive. There is no reason for it to be locking up. Also, when I try to use the help program, it always tells me that I am not connected to the internet even though I have used both the mail program and the browser with no problem just before that. I successfully used the help program on my pc lots of times. I did not need a $2000. plus machine to just get email. I just wanted to unload on somebody that might understand my pain and after checking out this site...I think there is a few of you out there.

    I was told that the APP store software should give me no problems but the truth is that it locks up on the software.
    The apps downloaded from the Mac App Store are written by third party developers, not Apple. If you have problems  with those apps you need to visit the support area for their websites. Launch the App Store, locate the app name. You should see a support link.

    Go to ~/Library/Preferences. Move the com.apple.helpviewer.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Trash. Restart your Mac, try the Help menu.
    If you need help finding that file, hold down the Finder icon in the Dock then click: New Finder Window. From the menu bar top of your screen click: Go > Go to Folder. Type this in exactly as you see it here:   ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.helpviewer.plist    That will take you right to that file.
    (.plist) files stores information about a particular app or in this case, the Help viewer. Often times deleting the .plist file resolves the issue.
    It's fine to "unload"... we understand that you expect your iMac to be stable but there are times when things go awry. That's why we have these forums so that you can you get help.

    Why is the order of my playlists different on my iPhone than on my computer or iPod?  To clarify, I'm asking about the order of the playlists themselves (should be alpha) and not the order of the songs in the playlist.  I have an iPhone 4S running iOS 5.0.1, and a MacBook Pro running 10.7.2. 

    I beleive when Photo Stream first started it only sent photos to other devices and didn't delete them so you'll have to start fresh. Be aware it can take a little time for the changes to take effect depending on your upload speed of your internet.
    I think to start out you'll have to delete all the photos on each device first which will also delete the new ones from the stream. Make an album in iPhoto on your Mac with all the photos in My Photo Stream. Then delete all the photos on Photo Stream on all devices then add all the photos back to My Photo Stream on the Mac.
    May I suggest setting up a Shared Photo Stream for this purpose and keep the My Photo Stream for the new photos taken with your devices. Also be aware of the 30 day 1000 photo limits on Photo Stream.

    For issues relating to interfaces, a functional person would need to diagnose what is causing the issue & thereby informing the technical person where to fix it, if the issue is due to system setup.
    As regards to the steps, I just wish there was a manual which read something like
    10 steps on how to analyze....
    unfortunately there is none that I have come across or even if one is ever written on those lines will be very specific, so not much of use for your need. A good approach would be to have a clear understanding of what the interface is supposed to do, which would assist you in fixing the issues.

  • Credit management related issue - please respond ASAP

    I have a credit management related issue,
    The requirement is as below:-
    If receivables value is zero for a customer and after a sales order is saved and delivery is created, a check should happen to see if the GROSS (Total including VAT) , not Net, value exceeds the credit limit  for that customer and the delivery doc should be blocked and then del doc will be released by the credit reps using VKM5.
    My client wants the orders to accepted always and delivery notes created but the delivery notes should be  blocked from further processing.  They are then released by the credit reps using VKM5.
    If receivables value is more than zero,then system response is OK.
    I understand that Customer's credit limit is the amount entered whichrepresents an upper limit for the total receivables and the foreseeable receivables from the customer.
    If the  Receivables value is zero, system will not check the credit limt value at all.

    Hi Rohit,
    1.If you don't want to perform check on sales order stage, then you could leave the credit check as blank for the sales order type.
    2.Please leave the field "credit active" as X for the sales order item category. Then even the check itself is not performed, the credit value is updated when saving the order.
    3.The credit price is copied from sales order to delivery document. If you would like to configure which value(Total including VAT) should be taken as the credit price, the configuration is done in V/08. Define the line as subtotal=A. Then the amount is taken as credit price.
    4.You could create your own routine and assign it to OVA8 no check if you want the credit check not being performed when Receivables value is zero. However from my point of view, it doesn't make so much sense to do that. For example, one big order could expeire the credit limit and make the receivalables with a big amount.

    I just upgraded to Mountain Lion and I can't see how to snooze an event alert for other than the preset 15 minutes. How do I snooze events and other alerts for different lengths of time than the default? Sometimes I want to snooze an event until the start time or maybe for a whole day.

    It addresses this exact issue. You'll be able to configure different pre-set snooze times, enter custom snooze times when an alarm triggers, etc. It's what snoozing should've been from the get go.

    Background color in HTML widget is a totaly different color in IE than what is shown in safari. http://web.mac.com/bmoody/Royalfest/5k.html .The scrolling text background is beige in safari and Firefox but blue in IE6. Any insite to what I can change or what the issue is other than microsoft would be greatly appreatiated

    You could try an image file of the color you want to have and see if it will be rendered any truer by IE. Be sure the file contains the sRGB color profile that most web sites use and it should render the same on all browsers except for possibly the brightness.

    You can make the clip that you want to play at 2 fps seem
    that way by just making it longer. Alternately, you could use a
    timed tween.

  • To everyone with IOS6 Sound related issues & Others

    If you are facing a problem of not having any system sounds, notification sounds, no calls or other software sound related issues I'd suggest you read below it's a stupidly simple fix and it should solve most software issues after an immediate iOS6 update:
    After updating unplug the phone from your computer and leave the phone alone for 5-10 minutes, if you still have problems: reboot, wait a few minutes and all sound related problems should be fixed.
    When I updated to iOS 6 I had lost my system sounds, so I unplugged from the computer, rebooted the phone and still no go. I decided to just let the system "settle in" for a bit, let it lock and when I unlocked after 5-10 minutes sounds were back and everythings up and running again.

    Well, to break it down. After my sounds finally came back (2nd time losing them) last night I decided to restore the phone in itunes. I did it twice. First time I backed up my data. Second time I restored it as a factory iPhone. Both times guess what NO SOUNDS! I also realized that last night I had lost my sounds after charging my phone and unplugging it from the data cord. I still have ringtones (when someone calls), but text messages, emails, and any other alert tones do not work. I cannot turn the volume up or down with the side buttons and also music does not play. It doesn't even have a slide bar at the bottom.
    I am on the phone with apple care now. They seem to not be aware of the problem at all.
    While I was on the phone with them my sounds ended up coming back, imagine that. Hopefully every time I charge my phone I am not going to have this issue.

    1. Select Edit > Preferences
    2. In the preferences dialog, select the "Convert From PDF" category.
    3. In the "Converting From PDF" list, select "Excel workbook".
    4. Click the "Edit Settings" button to view your conversion settings.

    Unable to see filtering options like SEARCH, ASSIGNEE and STATE in User View, I am able to see this in Generic Inbox of BPM workspace
    DETAILED DESCRIPTION_
    I am new to BPM & need some assistance on below scenario-
    TASKS INVOLVED-*
    My BPM process contains 2 tasks
    1.     Initiator task-[Part of Requester role in my JDev Swim lane]
    2.     User Task-To review the request-[Part of Reviewer role in my JDev Swim lane]
    SCENARIO-+
    Flow would be something like, requester enters details in request message & says submit. If request message length is less than 6 characters a review would be required & therefore process flow would go to reviewer task. Reviewer can Approve or Reject the request, if he approves the process will write the request message contents to a file, if the reviewer Rejects the request, requester task would be created again so as to ask requester to enter a message of length>6.
    If entered request message is having length greater than 6, no review would be required. It will be a direct file write.
    CHALLENGE-+
    The challenge is each of these tasks –Initiator task & Review task would be created with DIFFERENT task numbers in BPM workspace, which I do NOT want. I want the Requester tasks task number to be propagated to Reviewer task and I would want to populate this as task number (May be under different column, say Request Id) of Reviewer task as well.
    After reading Oracle BPM docs, I studied that this can achieved using Human tasks-Mapped variable concept.
    I used protected mapped variable/flex variable:*Request Id* in both the above tasks to achieve this.
    PROBLEM-*
    Problem is in BPM workspace’s user view, here we go-
    I created a user view:*HelloWorld* to display the task details, the columns I want are the default columns+Column for mapped attribute:*Request Id*.
    Now even though the Request Id column is populated as expected, I cannot filter the View entries based on Assignee, State or perform any kind of other searches.
    I understand that User views are built based basically on certain filters itself. But post the view creation if user has to make a search-say based on Mapped attribute:*Request Id* in this case, he won’t be able to do so.
    This defeats the entire purpose of Mapped attributes. Oracle document says (check the last bullet point)-
    +"Human workflow mapped attributes (formerly referred to as flex fields) store and query use case-specific custom attributes. These custom attributes typically come from the task payload values. Storing custom attributes in mapped attributes provides the following benefits:+
    +•     They can be displayed as a column in the task listing+
    +•     They can filter tasks in custom views and advanced searches+
    *+•     They can be used for a keyword-based search"+*
    So is this a bug with user views in workspace?
    One more thing that I would like to add-Reason behind using Custom user views is-
    1)     Generic Inbox of BPM Workspace does not give option to make the mapped attribute get displayed/Searched
    2)     I want to customize the Tasklist.
