Differentiating the orders in SNP based on number range but same category

Hi,
There is temporary requirement where we need to exclude planning for certain type of STOs/ASNs from heuristics planning. The categories are same i.e. SAP std categories but number range is different and originating plant is different. We can say that i want filter out the STOs and ASNs originating from particular plant.
Is there any other way than to exclude it from CIF (will have to use user exit) OR through macro functions?
Appreciate your thinking time for this.

I want the material to be planned for in APO SNP but only wish to exclude orders to be seen in planning book e.g.
there is one STO starting with number range 45* and other is starting with 65. I would like to exclued them to be seen in planning book. (both have same categories). Only difference between them is 65 are from one specific location.
This is again a temporary requirement where the stock transport orders and ASNs are not clean and cleaning process is in progress.

I am working on live project implementation.I am having four manufacturing plants.I am having one order type say PPLE, I am having two different versions say CM and CN.Now my requirement is can I maintain two different number ranges for same order types within single plant .
number ranges should be like,
Plant          Version     Number ranges
1210            CM           CM121008...
1210            CN            CN121008
1220            CM           CM121008
1220             CN           CN121008
and so on.here first two digit should be version,then plant and year followed by order number .

Hi manoj,
You cant have two different number ranges for an order type in internal number range, but in external number range you can have two diffrent number ranges
for example for one order you can start with CM1210080001 and other starting from CN1210080001.
Just convince the client to have external number range

Will the change of business partner's number range affect current BPs?

Okay I don't think this particular change will affect the data transfer. If external range is made wider, you are only making room for more numbers given by external sources (like R/3); and ofcourse when you make the internal number range narrow, there will be less numbers generated internally by the system.
( If you reverse or uncheck the external numbering, then it will affect the data tranfer and we will get MW numbering issues).

User exit for material code based on number range

Hi viewers,
Can you please tell me the User exit to be identified for material code t based on the number range (External or Internal)
For ex: LAFAMLP is the material code I want this material code as case sensitive .
It should take what ever case we give.

First goto MM01 transaction code in menu System-> status..pick the program name ,then
Goto SE38 give that program name select Attributes radio button click on Display button,
you will get one popup from the popup pick Package ...
Then now goto SMOD transaction in menu utilities(or/any one of the menu you will find (find option ))->Find this will list out all the possible exits...As follow
mga00001 material master (industry): checks and enhancements
mga00002 material master (industry): number assignment
mga00003 material master (industry and retail): number display

Purchase Order (PO) Inbound with external number range

We need to create a interface for Purchase order Inbound.
The PO will be created in 3rd party system, and the information is sent thro IDoc(Orders05). How do we create a PO in SAP with the same PO number as in 3rd party system.
We have allowed PO with external number range.
I couldnt find a Segment or field where the PO number can be mapped in the IDOC.
Points will be offered for useful informations.

Can anyone send me the user exit for the differnet number range creation for the same order type.
Same order type is used in two different Plants. So our client want to track the production order plantwise.

The number range is defined at order type level ( i.e. client level)
So if you want to use different number range for different plant, then use different order type for different plants.

Alphnumeric External Number range for Equipment category

Hi,
Is there any other option that I can restrict length of external alpha numeric number range except that exit IEQM0003? This exit only applicable or restrict when you save the equipment.
Requirement is like external number range should be like AAA-000 to ZZZ-999. System must not allowed any other equipment number which is out of this range. ( must be 7 character)
As far as my understanding , system use string comparison once you use alphanumeric number range and you can create equipment with 18 char length except special character if above range is maintained.
Please correct me if i am wrong and suggest.

Its not available in Standard SAP, please use the user exit and tell the ABAPER to check the Equipment numbering (count) before entering into Creation screen. In IE01,entering equipment Number, Category and date after completion of this activity when we enter continue icon there u can put a condition to check the length of equipment number. I implemented that user exit and i got the result. its working fine. User Exit: IEQM0003.

You need to check Mb51 report. You may not see Purchase order field in selection screen of Mb51. But in customizing you can bring it. see the belwo config
spro>Materials management>inventory management>Reporting->define field selection for material document list
here for program RM07DOCS(report mb51) add MSEG-EBELN and MSEG-EBELP. and tick output and selection.
Now MB51 is ready for PO input. In desplay you get all transactions after PO in that.

I got the solution but i assigned the default values for weight,courier charge,packing charge,other charges and net charges to ZERO...
and page items to be submited--weight,courier charge,packing charge,other charge..
If i gave --page items to be submited--weight,courier charge--net charge ll be display with out assigning default values(ZERO) for any item..fr tat wat i have to do...

Number range error for some materials when converting into Production order

Hi,
Please I need some help with my error.
When trying to convert planned orders into production orders, I receive an error message saying Internal assignment not defined for number range XX.
The strange part is that is only happening for two materials! Material type is the same one we always use.
The planned orders have also the same type.
Any idea?

I think for these 2 materials system is selecting the order type for which external number range is marked and ingternal number range is switched off.
Can you go to CO01 and create a production order for these materials directly w/o assigning order type on intial screen. check which order type is detrmined by system and check its number range in co86.

PO Number ranges based on company code

Hi all,
I have a small problem,
when saving a purchase order, diffrent number ranges must be assigned based on the company code,
i found that the below user exit can be used, where i can use EBELN as the purchase order number,
but, how to assign the PO number exactly in between numbers, that is how to assign number ranges.
like:
for companycode 2000, all the PO numbers must lie between 10000000 to 19999999.
for companycode 3000, all the PO numbers must lie between 20000000 to 29999999.
The User exit i found is :
   Enhancement: MM06E003
   FM: EXIT_SAPMM06E_001
   Include: ZXM06U17
I am also creating a ztabel, with number ranges assigned to each combination of company code and purchase org.
But how must i assign the EBELN must be between those number range.

Number Ranges for the Serial Number Profiles

We wanted to trace the Goods movement based on the serial numbers. we could make this possible by attaching the serial number profile with relevant procedure (Stock Chk) to the Material.
Now the issue left out is of Number range and the pop-up for the existing serial numbers for the material. Is it possible to define Number Ranges (Ext. / Int) to the Serial Number profile ? Also, to get a pop-up for the serail numbers of material currently in Stock, which can be issued. Currently, I have to get the detail of sr. No. thru' IQ09 / IQ03.

Yes. In IMG under Plant maintenance -- > Technical objects -->Serial No profile.
Here you can create diff profile with difff procedures.
And mention the properties of each.
There is a material master record for each type in the system. For control purposes, the company wants to know which customer received which collector type, and which serial number(s) of the collector type were supplied to the customer, when the individual solar collectors were delivered.
It is therefore necessary to assign a serial number to the customer delivery in addition to the material number.
A serial number master record is created with the assignment of the serial number. You can maintain data fields specific to the serial number in the master record.
At a later date, it may be necessary to enter equipment master records for materials that have already been serialized and delivered to customers, for example, if the producer of the solar collectors also has to perform maintenance activities for the customers and therefore wants to use all the functions available in the equipment master record for a serialized material.
In order to keep this option open at any time, you must define a number range for serial numbers. The numbers assigned from this number range are not the serial numbers but reserved keys that stand for the combination of material number and serial number and the equipment number that may possibly be assigned.
You can also define one or more serial number profiles.
The serial number profile defines how and under which conditions a serial number is assigned for a material.
Note
A material can only be assigned serial numbers after the required serial number profile has been entered in the material master for a specific plant.
