Difficulty in page setting to print A4 DOCUMENT

I am writing to bring to your attention a serious issue (my printer can not able to print a page in proper format as show in print preview) and with your service and policy I am very unsatisfied.  Below are the Details of the your Service Engineer  visit at my home.
I am very thankful for service and support today 13 Sep-14 your Service Engineer visited at my place, but after so many attempt he also not able to find out my problem.
Then after he discussed with senior engineer of HP by mobile, to solve and understand my problem.
After discussion he told me “printers can not print document like show in print preview”. This answer is very shocking for me, because my another printer (canon LBP2900B) print document as itis shown in print preview.so  I show him how my canon printer can print, now they agree with me. But he told hp and canon both are different printers, HP printer cannot print document as it is.
After that I  called my  friend who also same   HP LaserJet M1005 Multifunction Printer, I go to his place and check his printer, his prienter can print document as it, as show in print Preview.MY PINTER (HP LaserJet M1005MFP) CAN NOT PRINT same document with same setting as my friend printer(HP LaserJet M1005MFP) can print and your sevice engineer can not aggree with me.  so i attached both print for your consideration .
kindly solve my problem , for specification i attached both print out .

    Hi,
I got the next error message for a pdf document: “Before you can perform print-related tasks such as page setup or printing a document, you need to install a printer"
    Info:
    - version: 10.1.3
    - Default printer: Epson SX110 Series
    - Document: Security properties: Printing allowed - all other security properties: not allowed
    - Same document without security, does print without any problems.
    thanks for quick solution

    Hi,
My printer is correctly installed. I can print other pdf documents without any problem (even the same document if the security settings are not set).
    best regards

  • Can't print: "Before you can perform print-related tasks such as page setup or printing a document,

    Hello,
I have searched these forums but have not found a solution to my problem.
I recently purchased an IOGear USB Print Server (print server only, not USB device server). I was having issues installing and followed a Microsoft support document to try and resolve the issue. It had me remove some entries from the registry.
Hours later, I was able to get the printer installed and working, but I do not know if it was a result of the registry tweak. But now that it has been installed, I cannot get anything to print from Acrobat Reader (I have tried 7.0 and 8.1.1). I get the following error message:
"Before you can perform print-related tasks such as page setup or printing a document, you need to install a printer."
Is there something I should check in the registry to make sure that it will work? I do know for sure that it was working when it was just the printer and drivers installed, it only happened after running the print server setup. I have already tried removing the printers and drivers from the system.
    Thanks,
    Braden

I have a problem similar to those posted here, with one difference. With my printers newly installed, regardless of which one is selected as the default, when I try to print from Adobe Reader I receive the error message we're talking about : "Before you can perform a print related task...."
    Here's the fun part.
If I click OK on the message, ALL MY PRINTERS GET DELETED and, I get the windows message that "Spooler subsystem app has encountered a problem and needs to close"! If instead of clicking OK I switch to Task Manager and end Adobe, I'm fine and can print from other programs.
I can "reset" the problem by deleting the files in C:\Windows\System32\Spool\Printers and C:\Windows\System32\Spool\Drivers\w32x86, restarting the machine, and deleting then reinstalling the printers (which show up again after the restart).
BUT, if I try to print from Adobe Reader again, I get the same cycle of problems.
I am running Windows Vista and Adobe Reader 8.1

  • Pages won't print Word documents

All of a sudden I can't seem to get Pages to print Word documents. Pages documents print fine, but if I send a Word document to the printer, the printer seems to start, but then never prints. I have an Epson Stylus C86. This problem only happens in Pages and only with Word documents.
    Any ideas?

Since it only happens with Word docs, I'm wondering if it's a font issue. For the sake experimentation, try highlighting the entire doc, and change fonts, then try printing again.

  • Printing in Photoshop and Pages sets "change" bit in document

Is there any way to defeat the "change bit" being set in documents after printing? Even if I don't make any changes, EACH time I print (even the same print params), the change bit gets set in Photoshop CS3 and Apple Pages, and then I have to save the document again, or close the window and decline to save changes. VERY obnoxious. PRINTING does NOT change documents!
These apps Do NOT set the change bit on printing:
    Eudora
    AppleWorks
    GraphicConverter
    TextWrangler
    MS Excel 11.1
    MS Word 11.1
    TextEdit
    Xbench
Photoshop CS3 and (Apple) Pages DO exhibit this obnoxious behaviour after EVERY print, even if there are no changes or other actions (except Save) between printings. Every print causes the document to be changed for some reason. These are the ONLY apps which behave this way...
(These are all the apps that I ever print from...)

If the idea is to remember the printing setup in the doc itself, okay, maybe. But they should CHECK to see if the print setup is the same as before and NOT set the Change Bit.
They should also give you the option NOT to save the print setup in the doc itself.
Personally, I think all that should be done in Page Setup, the way it's been for more than 20 years. That is an explicit command to tell the doc what its print params should be. That's where this belongs, NOT in the Print command.
99.99% of people only have one printer, so Page Setup should do it all.

  • How do I page set to print to the edge of A4?

    Hi there,
This is probably a simple and ridiculous question for those of you who work in publishing - I'm an artist using ID for the first time!
I just want to design a page with colour and lines that go right to the edge of A4 paper. How do I set a page up properly to do this? I'm thinking about when I go to have the pages commercially printed. If I want a whole A4 designed page, do they end up having to print it on bigger paper and then cut it down, or can you set the ID file up so that they can print directly onto A4 - no chopping required!
Many thanks for any help! :-)

That's generally how it's done in commercial printing. Set up your document size to the size of your finished page and let part of your image hang off the edge of the page (called the "bleed"). When printed on larger paper with trim marks, the extra image will be removed, and it will look like it was printed to the edge of the paper, when in fact, it was just trimmed to look that way.

There are photo printers that can print borderless, but unless you know what printer you will be using, it's a risk to assume this is possible. Best bet is to talk to who ever is printing this, and ask what they require.

  • Pages - Share and Print - Email document issue

I ran into an issue today on my iPad2 and wanted to see if it was just me or can anyone reproduce this error. If it turns out to be just me, someone help me undertand how to get around the issue. If it is more widespread, where do I report this so it can be resolved in an future release?
    Here is what happened.
I received a Word document via e-mail. When I opened it in e-mail and chose to "open with Pages" it worked fine. Imported into Pages sans the font (which I've come to expect). Then I edited the document (it was a quick survey I was taking) and then was ready to send it back to the person who sent it to me. I chose the tools icon, selected "Share and Print" then selected "Email Document" and then chose Word as the format. It converted it and attached the file in a blank e-mail ready for me to address and send.
Well, I wasn't ready to send just yet. So I clicked on "Cancel" and then "Save Draft" which it did successfully. Then I went into email, edited my "Draft" in my Drafts folder, addressed it, etc. and sent it on its merry way. Well, guess what? The file did not come through on the e-mail. Just my text.
I tried "copy and paste" of the file after saving as a draft and it only sent the "picture" of the file ICON and not the file itself. I tried multiple times saving it as a draft and then sending and it never worked.
If I send from within Pages right at the time after "Email Document" is selected, it works every time. It seems to only be when I save the email as a draft from within Pages that it will not send the attachment or something happens to the attachment. I did notice also, that if I edited any "text" from that draft and then saved the draft again, all my edited text wouldn't save either. So any "Draft" saved from Pages I couldn't edit regardless of any attempt.
Draft saving and editing within the email application works as expected.
NOTE: Just before submitting this discussion, I tried the above on my wife's iPad2 with the same results. Anything "saved as a draft" from Pages in e-mail, will not send the attachment. Anything sent directly from within Pages and not saving it as a draft, will send the attachment.
There are times I would like to save it as an attachement, should this work? Thanks everyone!
    Edward

I am only vaguely familiar with iWork.com. I know it is a cloud based way to share documents with others, but this is what the send to option does when you work with Pages, Numbers or Keynote on the iPad. I would assume that the function performs the same way in iWork.com. - but it is only an assumption.
"Send to" is the command that will let you send that file to your computer the next time you sync with iTunes. It is the way the iPad transfers the file to your computer - the iPad method of file sharing. You can sync files back and forth from iPad to computer with file sharing as long as the app on the iPad is compatible with a similar application on your computer. In your case iWorks apps on both the iPad and your Mac.
This article will explain it in great detail for you.

    Hi Michael,
Sorry I did not explain this better. The URL that I gave is a your local CUPS page, and you can administer settings for all of your printers from that page. You need to be on the machine that has the printer attached in order to administer it. I am not sure if this suggestion will help, but it's worth a try.

  • Print Attached Documents from Order Release

    Hello Gurus!
We have an issue with a client that needs to print various documents in Word format along with the production order. I have mantained all of the setting in DMS and have attached the documents to the product as well as the production order. What I need the system to do is to automatically print these attached documents. I have used the LV03 setting to print the document list. My questions are:
        1.  Is there a standard function that I am not aware of to print the documents automatically?
        2.  Is there a form in SAP to print documents or will I be able ot create a form using either SAPscript or SmartForms to obtain this function?
Any additional information will be appreciated and points will be awared!
    Thank you!

    Hi Steven,
    1. Get BOM details for order (dokar, doknr, dokvr and doktl).
    2. Get the files (document ) path using following FM
        CALL FUNCTION 'CVAPI_DOC_GETDETAIL'
             EXPORTING
                  pf_dokar     = dokar
                  pf_doknr     =doknr

                  OTHERS       = 4.
    3. Print the documents using following FM.
      LOOP AT t_files INTO wa_files.
        CONCATENATE wa_files-pathname wa_files-filename INTO
                    wa_files-filename.
        CONDENSE wa_files-filename.

  • Is it possible to give each page within one pdf document a specific set of print settings?

I have a complex document (catalogue) that requires printing. There are several different printer settings required and each one is specific to each page within the document. For instance pg 1 is single sided in colour, page 2-3 is duplexed in b&w, page 3-8 is duplexed in colour, etc.... Is it possible to give each page within the pdf document a given set of print settings and then print the entire document as a whole?

    Hi jennyskop
I assume that is not feasible ...You need to give the print command again and select the respective pages and their settings !

  • Auto adjustment of page orientation causes printing issues with documents that have a page width greater than its page height.

    Hi,
Since an upgrade from Word 2003 to Word 2010, we are experiencing printing issues with certain
documents that have a page width greater than its page height.
In Word 2003, it was no problem to set the page width greater than the page height while setting the page orientation to "portrait".
In Word 2010, this seems impossible: despite leaving the page orientation to "portrait", if one changes the page width/height as stated,
Word 2010 automatically adjusts the orientation to "landscape". Resetting the orientation to "portrait" will flip the page's width/heigth settings.
This behaviour causes printing problems: the page prints out 90° rotated.
I do not believe this is a printer driver issue: I tried several different printer drivers, and all give the same (bad) result. Setting the printer driver's page orientation settings (before printing) makes no difference, as
Word 2010 seems to force the page orientation settings.
Inserting the documents 90° rotated is not an option, since it causes problems with the printing margins.
This is very annoying, since we have to print official documents of a municipality (driver's licences).
Is there a workaround for this issue?

  • Document could not be printed - no pages selected to print

I am running into this well-known issue with several documents, but unfortunately none of the fixes I have come across have worked. Some background:
    -Using Windows 7 Pro
-Happening with both Adobe Reader XI and Acrobat X, clean installs. and happening on multiple computers, with multiple printers, with multiple domain users.
-Have tried repairing both installations, no success.
-Have tried disabling protected view, changing size of the fit, letting printer determine colors, printing in greyscale, changing setting for "view documents in PDF/A mode" to "never."
-Print as image works, but quality is unacceptable.
-It seems to be isolated mainly to Xerox printers, as I have no issues printing to an HP printer. I am trying different models of Xeroxes with no success, however. I have reinstalled printer driver and verified updated driver for all, issue persists. Printer models are Xerox ColorQube 8700X and 9203
-The PDFs are from different sources, so I can't pinpoint it to one website. Documents contain various financial info, so I can't post here. Any help would be appreciated. I'm probably going to have to try a different pdf reader for these, but that is not ideal, since multiple people need to print these and are comfortable using Adobe software.

I was also receiving the message "The Document Could Not be Printed" I am on 10.6.4 with Acrobat 9.4.1. I did not get the second part of the message though "There were not pages selected to print". Anyway, I got mine to work by going to Preferences - Print & Fax. I selected my printer and clicked Options & Supplies. Under the driver tab I changed the "Print Using:" box to Generic PostScript Printer. I'm not sure if this is what you are supposed to do. I'm not an expert but it worked for me so I am going with it.

Type TextEdit into Spotlight (magnifying icon top right on the menubar) to quickly locate and open it.
It is the basic Text/Word Processor (but actually very capable) that comes with all Macs and a good place to test differences if you hit a problem.

  • Why the window setting the printing disappeared when I try to select the page number of pdf file

When I send the pdf file to the printer and try to select the page number to be printed by entering (e.g., 4-10), the page for setting up printing work suddenly disappeared.   As a result, I could only print pdf files from page 1 to the end, if I want to print any document.   I have no problem with printing word documents.  Thus, it should not be problems related to printer, right ?
Your help is highly appreciated !

What is your operating system?  Reader version?
You mean the Print panel completely disappears when you enter some page numbers?

  • Set custom page size for printing

I want to set a custom page size for printing some PDF three and four-page musical scores to roll paper on an Epson 1290 using Adobe Reader 9.3.4 on Ubuntu 10.04. The printer properties in the print dialog has a media size option, and one of the choices is "custom", but having chosen "custom", the dialog does not allow me to add the actual page size to the lpr printer command. I can see that when I choose "custom", the lpr command is
    lpr -P Stylus-Photo-1290 -o PageSize=Custom etc
but what I need for a three page output, for example, is
    lpr -P Stylus-Photo-1290 -o PageSize=Custom.297x630mm etc
and I can't see how to add the actual custom paper size. If I Ok the media size choice dialog with it just set to PageSize=Custom, I can see from the output preview in the print dialog that the actual page size that has been chosen is letter. The online Adobe doc for Reader 9 printing (http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Reader/9.0/content.html#heading2.3) says "For documents that are larger than the standard page size, go to File  > Page Setup.  Create a custom page size before you print your  document". The problem with that is that there is no "Page Setup" option on the File menu in the Unix version of Adobe Reader, only a "Print" option, which is where I already am.
If I open the PDFs in Evince, it allows me to add the custom page sizes I want, but as Evince doesn't have the option to print multiple pages per sheet I can't use it either...

Yes, it used to work, and the resize zoom bar used to work too (now its grayed out). I don't know if this is a "who's to blame for it" thing, but its not getting fixed and its pretty bad that no one seems to care enough even to respond. I found my own solution by opening it in Gimp. Just right click and select open with other ...Gimp and it will import into it. In the Gimp Print dialog, you have a scaling percentage in the "Page Setup" tab, and size settings in the "Image settings" plus loads of other stuff including multiple copies.
