Disable color conversion when PDF export

how to disable color conversion in my sample scritp?
pdfExportPreset = app.pdfExportPresets.add({
                name:"sample preset",
pdfExportPreset.standardsCompliance = PDFXStandards.PDFX1A2001_STANDARD;

actualy, if you need PDF-X1A standard, it's not as much about the export preset as is about the workflow. PDF/X-1a requires all fonts need to be embedded and all images need to be CMYK or spot colors. So if you have RGB images, they will be converted to obey the standard.

How can i set Color Conversion field in Export to PDF dialog to No Color Conversion when creating PDF Export preset? i have done a bit of searching and have found where it has been recommended to set effective pdf destination profile to use no profile but it doesn't seem to be producting the expected results.

Yes, it seems that i had to make the change after creation, not while creating the preset. thank you.

  • Font color changes when I export to pdf

I'm using Pages 08 still, and I'm creating newsletters, should be simple enough.  But when I export to pdf, there are portions of the text that change color.  For example, I have white text and a brown background, and for some reason the text changes to black.  The Pages document still shows it as white, it only happens with the exported pdf document.  I triend deleting the brown background layer, re-exported, but the font color still changes.  Thoughts?

You have not said what version of Pages '08 you are using nor what version of OSX.
For problems like these usually simply updating both Pages '08 and the version of OSX to the latest versions, fixes the problem. That does not mean upgrading to Pages '09 or OSX 10.8.2, just the latest of those you have installed.
Failing that you need to look at what color model your text is. Stick to the cmyk that OSX's pdfs use and avoid rgb which is screen color.

  • My film looses color saturation when I export it to Quicktime Movie from FC

My film looses color saturation and punc when I export it from Final Cut Pro. I have tried Compressor, but I think Compressor is quite difficult to use.......
I did add color in FCPRO with Color Corrector and the saturation slider......
Probably not the best way. But I think using Final Cut Pro is a challenge and using the other applications like COLOR etcetera is a quite heavy task to overcome.....

No - it has no effect whatsoever on either the original captured footage or what is in your project.
    It can do no harm.

  • Disable print option in PDF export

Hi guys - I'd like to use the PDF export of slideshows as a quick way of generating documents for clients to view, but during tests I find the resulting PDF allows for pages/images to be printed.
How would I switch this option off? Can I switch it off at all?
    TIA for any help offered.
    Cheers,
    Anndra.

    Here is what you do.
If you don't have the complete Adobe Acrobat software, buy it. About $199 as I remember. Then you can adjust the PDF file in the s/w. Then resave the file.
AFAIK, that is the only way. I tested it [I have Adobe Acrobat] and it works.
I don't think there is any other way.

  • How to disable color cartridges when printing black?

Is there a setting to disable color ink cartridges so that my printer prints black and white documents using only black?  Selecting just "grayscale" or "black and white" doesn't stop the printer from using the color cartridge to "make" black.  I know there's a setting somewhere in OSX to bypass using the color cartridge (I've done it before), but I just can't seem to find it now.  Any thoughts?

I have not ever seen that option in System Preferences/Printing.
Are you quite sure that selecting Greyscale after selecting Quality & Media still requires the colour cartridges?
I ask this because I also have a Pixma (different model) which uses two different black cartridges, one standard size, the other twice as big, and I have always assumed that that is specifically to allow black-only printing.
But if it, for reasons known only to Canon and God, also needs the colour cartridges, it can't be much!

  • Gray color background in PDF exported from Crystal Report not printing correctly in Digital Printer (CMYK)

I am processing a crystal report on RAS server, and exporting it to PDF, using the RAS Dlls.
    Dim Report As ReportClientDocument
    Dim crExportData As New ByteArray
    Dim crExportType As CrReportExportFormatEnum
    crExportType = CrReportExportFormatEnum.crReportExportFormatPDF
    crExportData = Report.PrintOutputController.Export(crExportType)
A gray background is applied to an object in crystal report, with RGB color code (216,216,216).
On exporting this report to pdf, the color appears as required.
However, when printing this PDF in a digital printer (uses CMYK color format), the color changes to Pinkish Gray.
The color remains gray as required, in other printers.
Is there any way to make the exported PDF CMYK compliant?
    Please help.

From the info, I have no idea what version of .NET and CR you are using...
How is the printing from the CR designer?
How is the printing to another printer, say HP?
Do you have the latest updates for Digital Printer (CMYK) installed?
How does a plain pic with grey background print from a .NET app? (E.g.; is this a CR issue, or a framework issue? See:

  • Colors fading on PDF export from Illustrator/Indesign CS2

    Hi guys,
I can't figure out why colors are fading when exporting to PDF.  I've had this issue for a long time and am finally fed up with it enough to post.  I'm in the RGB space in Illustrator (and transparency blend in InDesign).  I'm using CS2 and Acrobat Pro 7 on Windows XP.
    Any help is appreciated, thanks.

  • Color conversion to PDF issues

Hello, I am attempting to convert my document to PDF format. My company has STRICT rules on the colour of the logo. I saw in another post about RGB to CMYK settings and I have tried everything from setting them in Framemaker as CMYK, then changing the PDF Document Properties setting to leave colors unchanged, not to conver to RGB or CMYK, Using Postscript and Distilling, to no avail, the colour always comes out incorrect. Any suggestions? Thank You!

    Lisa

    Lisa,
The solution suggested by VAN may work perfectly for you in regard to on-line viewing, but will most likely not work in print.
The solution suggested by Sheila is more general and will also enable proper conversion for prepress PDF's. To do it you'll need to create a custom color map, that remap the RGB-color from Heading1 to the CMYK (or SPOT) color from the logo art.
To create a custom color map in Grafikhuset Publi PDF you simply right-click the Publi PDF icon in the system tray, select the Attended Queue you want to use, and then turn on automatic creation of color maps in the Optimizer section of the pop-up menu. This will prompt you with an interface that allow you to create new spot colors -- next time you print to the queue.
Clicking the "Convert to" field for each listed Gray, RGB, CMYK or other spot color allow you to remap colors exactly as your job require. When finished you can save the color map for later use. You may actually attach it to the queue, so you don't need to enter new information each time you print (If you attach it to the queue you should switch off the automatic color map creation, since its OFF state assure that the analysis phase is skipped and conversion is run directly without prompting).
Note: due to a font-error with input fields in the color map editor you must have XP themes enabled, i.e. the classic Windows 2000 interface still works, but will display text and numbers as WingDings (fixed with a patch coming soon).
    Hope this helps.

  • Disabling "Save as" when PDF is online

    Hello,
I have a PDF form on our server and when clients fill it out I don't want them to be able to file|save the form to their desktop. All I want for them to be able to do is click the "submit by email" button. I looked through the Security Properties section and see the Documents Restrictions Summary but don't see a setting for what I want. Can someone direct me to this?
    Thank you.

Actually, I'm nearly certain you CAN disable the save button on the form. This won't prevent someone from saving a copy of the form, but it would certainly discourage it. (Depending on how tech savvy your user base is, disabling the button might be enough.)
Unfortunately, I don't know how to do this, but I would really like to know. (My user base is very computer illiterate.)

  • How to select color space for PDF export in Aperture 3

If you're exporting a book layout as a PDF for printing by a third-party album company, you may need to specify sRGB as the color space for images in the PDF. That's OK if your book is composed of JPEGs that are already in the sRGB color space. But, if your images are RAW, Aperture will export them into PDF using the Adobe RGB color space by default. Sending aRGB images to an sRGB printer will result in flat, unsaturated colors, as I learned the hard way. Apple tech support was unable to tell me how to handle this, but I stumbled on the answer myself. Select the book in the Library pane. Select File > Print Book. In the resulting printer dialogue window, pull down the Color Profile menu (default: No Profile Selected) and select sRGB or whatever target color space you desire. Then, click the PDF button and select Save as PDF. Presto! Your PDF images will now be in the appropriate color space.

    Hi again, here some updates.
    the issue is still there.
From Aperture, I tried to export to PDF the single images, and they look good (no posterization).
Furthermore, I created a photo book from iPhoto with the same pictures, and exported it to PDF. It also looks fine.
Also opening/exporting to PDF from photoshop does not show any problem.
The problem occurs only if I try to print the book from Aperture (option "print book" -> "save as PDF"), or if I make a book preview before placing the order (I suppose it's the same action).
Is anybody aware of what exactly Aperture does in these particular cases?
    Please consider that:
    1. my monitor (iMac 24") is hardware calibrated
    2. the source pictures are in RAW (so no color profile on them) and (just a couple) in TIFF (16bit, Adobe RGB). I also tried reimporting in the album jpg converted versions, with no better results.
    3. OS and Aperture are updated to the latest versions.
This problem is blocking me from placing the order...
Someone could give some help here?
    thanks in advance
    marco

  • How can I disable color print when using airprint?

How can I print from my iPhone or iPad in black and white only, so as to save my color ink?  I am using HP Photosmart 5510.  I can't see how airprint gives that option. Is there an app out there for this?

That is a function of your printer, you can set your printer to be B&W via it's front panel settings.

  • Why can't I include a color profile when exporting to PDF?

I've a basic RGB illustrator file - no embedded or linked images, just flat colors and gradients.
I'm working in sRGB space and this is reported correctly in the info field at the lower left of the editing window.
    Some issues:
    1. When I look at this file in Bridge it's listed as 'untagged'.  However if I re-open it in illustrator it's reported to be sRGB as expected.
    What's broken here?
    ...and of more immediate concern:
    2. Despite requesting 'Include All Profiles' on the output page of the PDF save dialog I cannot get a PDF exported that includes the sRGB profile.
Same issues in both CS6 and CC - Windows 7, 64.
    Thoughts, comments or suggestions welcomed....
    Thanks

Your .pdf is fine, if you open the .pdf in illustrator, adn hten do edit >> assign profile, this radio biutton will bo on what the profile. Also in the bottom left of illustrator you can see what color profile your document is saved with, btuy turning that on.
Hold down option adn you will get other fun easter egg options
Bridge only seems to show profiles for certain bitmapped formats, except .psb format.

  • Color changes when exporting to PDF from Apple Pages or Word

When I export to PDF from Apple Pages or Microsoft Word, there is a noticable color shift.
The RGB color values that are 23, 76, 140 in Pages for a medium shade of blue like this but appear as 50, 61, 134 with a decidedly purple cast like this in the PDF.
Has anybody else run into this problem?  Any tips for troubleshooting?

Thanks for the reply.  It was created using Apple Pages. I tried exporting to PDF in two different ways, both with the same result.
    1. Within Apple Pages, one can click File > Export > PDF
    2. The other option is to click Print > PDF > Save as PDF
I also tried this second method with Microsoft Word, and again the color was altered.  Any suggestions that you can provide to resolve this issue will be very helpful.

I want to set the field of Color Conversion (as equivalent to manual setting under Output>Color>Color Conversion) to "No Color Conversion" in Applescript but couldn't figure it out.

       tell PDF export preferences

       end tell
       tell document 1
export format PDF type to filename without showing options
