Disable document overwrite

Hello, when we edit a document using the web interface we have two possibilities for check-in: Overwrite and Create New version. Is it possible to disable the Overwrite option and if yes how, so that the users cannot overwrite the original document?

Hi Zhenbo, thanks for the reply. Yes, it is the cFolders 4, webdynpro. I tried the parameter you mentioned but it seems that doesn't have any effect, probably is an authorization problem. However we were able to solve the problem by setting the folder status to "Protected Version". We defined this new status in the Status Management. This is what I found in the help (I hope it will be helpfull in the future if somebody has a similar question):
You can protect objects and object versions for a particular status by setting the Protected or Protected Version indicator on the Create Status screen in a status profile.
If you set the Protected Version indicator, you can edit an object with this status. However, when you save any changes that you make, the system creates a new version of the object. The original version cannot be changed. If the object is a document, the system creates a new version when you save your changes or when you check in the document.

Disable Documents & Data sync

Hi,
yesterday i got my iPad Air 2 and disable Documents & Data under Settings -> iCloud.
I only sync my contacts, so i disable everything there (not "contacts", but everything else).
After disabling everything beside "contacts", "Documenst & Data" is still shown under Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calander -> Accounts (iCloud: "Contacts, Documents & Data").
When going back to Settings -> iCloud, the setting (ON/OFF) for Documents & Data is gone! It is no longer in the List!
I have to logout from iCloud and Login again, then every setting in iCloud is back to standard (nearly everything is ON).
And "Documents & Data" is back in the list (ON).
When i disable it again, the entry disappears again! I can not turn it back on, however Documenst & Data" is still shown under Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calander -> Accounts (iCloud: "Contacts, Documents & Data")!
This is on every iOS-Device i tested it!
iPhone 4S from a friend, iPad Air 2, and the iPad Mini from my dad.
Must be a bug?!?
Some questions:
1. Is there a way to really disable "Documents & Data" in iCloud?
2. And where can i see which Documents & Data is stored in my iCloud?
3. And is it possible to simply delete every Document & Data in the iCloud?
Can anybody help me with that questions?

I believe the documents & data setting was removed with iOS 8.1. You can delete documents and data by going to Settings>iCloud>Storage>Manage Storage, then tap each app listed under Documents & Data, tap Edit, then tap Delete All to delete it.

Disable konqueror overwrite confirmation

Hello,
Does anybody know of a way to disable overwrite confirmation in konqueror, when using drag and drop (as a file manager / ftp client). In particular, it would be great to be able to skip confirmation when the action (copy or paste) is selected explicitly via SHIFT or CTRL.

Disable Document Type in Purchasing

Anyway has sucessfully disable some document type in purchasing? E.g, we may not want to allow selection of planned/contract PO etc. Our requirement is actually to prevent creation of any PO type without a PR. Any suggestion is appreciated.

Great idea.I will put your suggestion in front of them but it seems as they are just been upgraded from 11i So user are not much familiar with BWC.
They would be prefer standard PO forms only.Can anything be done in PO forms it self to control it and fulfill their requirement.

How to disable Document Installed Fonts feature

We store incoming files on a Windows server, one employee opens and makes laser prints of them to be supplied with the job ticket. Then the folder is moved (not copied) into the actual job folder in the same volume on said server. The problem is, the enclosing folder containing the collected indesign job cannot be moved in it's entirety as the server sees files in use. You can move the files piecemeal from the enclosing folder, or copy the whole thing to the desktop, but the enclosing folder & the Document fonts folder cannot be moved until the original employee quits Indesign. This makes a mess of the storage folder as the operators just drag out what they need & is of course, extremely frustrating. The Document Installed fonts feature is nice, but also a problem for us as we do layouts in Illustrator, and the fonts are only available in Indesign without loading them manually, so we have to remember to outline the fonts in Indesign, which is not possible sometimes depending how the file is created etc. The easiest solution is to have the original employee quit Indesign every so often, but I would like to be able to disable The Document Installed fonts if desired.

Disabling document downloads while allowing for online editing.

With IRM I know that you can prevent documents from being downloaded as well as printed, but whenever I do so, it disables the ability to edit the document. Is it an integrated setting where I can only have both or neither? I am not concerned

That should be possible in 2013 with Office Web Apps. This is the guide for Office 365 but I think you can configure the same settings with on premise.

Disabling Document Discount Field

I want to disable the document the discount field on the sales order document.

I would request you to try the following options:
Option 1. Use Authorization:
Step1: Access Authorization window. To access the Authorizations window, choose Administration -> System Initialization -> Authorizations .
Step2: for users (who are not superusers), set Max Discount to 0.01 (as per your max decimal places configured in General Settings-> Display).
Max. Discount: Specify the maximum discount that the user is authorized to enter in customer master records or sales documents.
Please note, this option will not work for superusers and will restrict discount entry in all sales documents (not only sales order as you require).
Option 2. Use Stored Procedure:

Disable document check in/check out

Hello,
I've seen similar questions on this forum, but none were my problems. I don't my document libraries to allow users to check-out files. I've gone to the document library settings>versioning settings and set "No versioning" and "no"
for "require documents to be checked out before they can be edited.
However, some how, documents are still being checked out. I don't want this to happen. How do I prevent any file in any document library from being checked out?
Please, don't post me any links to another site, they aren't helpful after going through the other forum posts related to this problem.

Disable documents tab in the sales order

Hello,
   My client is having a requirement that if ship to party reference date in the purchase order data tab is entered, No user should be able to edit / delete documents attached in the documents tab of sales order.
   I've tried to implement field check BADI for this but documents tab is not coming under field check BADI.
   Is there any other way to do the same ...?

Hi,
I think that you will not get any particular BADI for implementing the logic that you have mentioned regarding the Document Tab. But there is a BADI which gets called whenever you will do a SAVE of any one order documents.
BADI : ORDER_SAVE. You can use the method CHECK_BEFORE_SAVE where you can implement your logic. You will get the GUID of the 1Order Object with which you need to get all the data. And then you can do a validation and if it does not satisfy the Save Criteria then you need to raise the exception - DO_NOT_SAVE.

Disable document message bar

I have a document that contains a number of buttons and check boxes that are used to execute various functions. When i save the pdf and open it in Acrobat Reader, a purple message bar appears that asks the user to: "Please fill out the following form... etc"
I can go to the Edit/Preferences/Forms window and select "Always hide form document message bar", but i don't want the end user to see this window in the first place.
Is it possible to use a javascrpit that forces this message bar to be hidden? Is there any other way to have this window hidden by default?

Disable Document Attachment

Hello all,
We are currently working EBP 3.5 in classic scenario with R/3 4.7.
We need to deactivating the option to attach documents in the Shopping cart.
In the higher versions we can deactivate the doc server in SICF transaction. But in the version we are, the doc server itself is not available in this transaction.
Which other way can i achieve this? Is modifying the HTML page in the Internet service the only option? If so is the internet service BBPPU99 the correct internet service applicable?
Please share your valuable thoughts/inputs.

Hi Ajith,
To deactivate the use of Attachments in SC, you can change the template SAPLBBP_PDH_TEXT 100.
This templates handles the "Document" tab, with texts and attachments.
But be carefull, this screen is generic, i.e. used for all SRM documents (SC, PO, GR, RFQ, CTR...).
You could use variable GV_OBJTYP = "BUS2121" to deactivate this for SC only in the HTML template.
To deactivate this via ABAP and not HTML, you could modify the FORM modify_screen of program SAPLBBP_PDH_TEXT to switch gv_mode to D (Display). This will update variable GV_MODE_TEXT used in HTML template, and deactivate the use of attachments.
Other option: use variable gv_with_attach in the same form to completely hide this attachment subscreen.

Disable drawing overwrite

I often draw things that have close details. But if I draw two things too close to each other, they either connect or the first one is overwritten! I really, REALLY do not want this to happen. I'm sure it's useful in some situations, but it just really slows me down.
How do I disable this?

It happens with the pencil tool and the brush tool. I want to disable it to both of them.
