Disable First Row in property loader

Hi,
TestStand 2.0.1f1
I am trying to use the property loader with the option 'First Row of Data Specifies Step Property for Each Column' unchecked.
I have followed the example text as outline in the User manual Ch8 page69.
But it seems that the step name is always being checked. I have tried a number of varations but I can not get the property loader to ignore the Step Name.
I have attached an example with a limit file. Any clues anyone.

Ray,
Using the Property Loader and Import/Export Properties Tool, you have to specify the Step Name. There is no way to ignore the Step Name.
After reading over the help, I think the confusion may be over what the "First Row of Data Specifies Step Property for Each Column" option means. If you do not check that option (it is selected by default), then you can specify the order of the properties and data values that you will read in from the file. This may be of help because the Import/Export Properties tool does not allow you to modify the order of the properties that are exported.
For example, if you use the Import/Export Properties tool to export Step.Limits.Comp, Step.Limits.High, and Step.Limits.Low properties to a text file, they will always be written to the file in that exact order (Step.Limits.Comp, Step.Limits.High, and Step.Limits.Low).
Now if you use the Property Loader to read in that file that you just created, it will automatically map those properties to Step.Limits.Comp, Step.Limits.High, and Step.Limits.Low for a specific step name. If you need to switch the values received in the Property Loader step, you can deselect the checkbox for "First Row of Data Specifies Step Property for Each Column" and instead specify which properties should be associated with those columns from the file. For example, you could deselect the checkbox and then type in the text box:
Comp, Limits.Low, Limits.High
This would switch the Low and High data values, ignoring the column titles as written from the Import/Export Properties Tool. If you wanted to, you could even delete or modify the column titles in whatever manner you want to.
Keep in mind that you still need to have an entry in your properties file for each step name in the sequence that has dynamically loaded values. TestStand will not load properties and apply them to generic steps; the step name is the key for the Property Loader tool.
I hope this answers your question. If you need further clarification or if I missed a point, just let us know!

    Hi,
Create a Value Node in the below mentioed structure
    TableNode
    ---value1

Note: - make sure that the attribute TableRowReadOnly is in the same level as the other attributes in the node
Create an Action for the onLeadSelect event for the table and in that action, write the following code:
    int leadSelection = wdContext().node<nodename>().getLeadSelection();

  • How to disable first row selection in a table

    Hi,
I have three tables which have master child relationship. I need to enable a button for each table based on row selection of corresponding table. But first row is being selected automatically and the buttons are enabled.
what should i do in order to avoid first row selection in a table.I tried by removing selected Row Keys. But still i am getting the same problem.can anyone suggest on this.
    Thank You,
    Sukumar

I know a hack but I don't recommend it, anyway here it goes:
    Remove selected Row Keys
Change selectionListener from the default and create a custom action listener (You can call the default one inside of it) (Tip: use makeCurrent function in this PDF
This will make sure that there is no selected row highlighted for the first time, but it actually means that the first row is selected, it's just not shown.

    Hi,
actually findElementById does work, but you should use the ADF client side framework for this. Add a clientListener to the component that intercepts the keyboard usage and make it callin the next record on the table.
I'll take a note for a how-to to put on my blog as I don't have the code ready. However, its possible this way

    Hi,
    can you remove the attribute
selectedRowKeys="#{bindings.XXXX.collectionModel.selectedRow}"This would ensure that there are no selected rows persisted. you can also paste the jspx code also for better answer.

  • We can able to load master data through manually FIRST ROW IS EMPTY

    Hi,
we can able to load master data through manually without loading but in that screen where we we type the data FIRST ROW IS EMPTY.PLZ tell me why that is empty

Becasue SAP BW already creates a Blank Line, it cannot create a new one again for you.
So, when you loaded the Blank like with description, it uses the existing blank line and creates test for it.
Each row in the table will have a SID.
    e.g.,
    12345 text1
    23446 text2
    You cannot have
    12345 text1
    12345 text2
If you load the above, you will have "12345 text2" in the table.
Same way, you cannot have two SIDs for the same key, so your new text is used for the existing Blank Key value.
    SAP creates this:
    Key, Description
when you loaded the Master Data, you have:
    " ", "whatever you loaded".

  • DataTable.Rows.Count property is occasionally wrong

I have a web service in C#.NET which calls a stored procedure using ADO.NET. The stored procedure is always returning 1 row, which is then loaded into a DataTable. The Rows.Count property of the DataTable is then examined.
When this web service is called repeatedly with numerous requests, it occasionally returns Rows.Count as 0 when it should be 1. I have debugged and examined it at runtime and found that there is indeed 1 row in the datatable, but that the Rows.Count property
    is 0.
    Is this a known bug?
    I'm using .Net Framework 2.0
Note: This is an issue that occurs very rarely. My testing shows that it takes about 90 minutes to recreate it when you have 2 concurrent processes sending requests repeatedly at a rate of about 10 requests per second.

Are you sure that there aren't multiple threads access the DataTable?
    Can you post a repro?

  • Error while importing a big array with thr property loader

    Hello,
the following problems occure: when I want to import a *.txt file with a array of more than arround 3300 members with the property loader, the following error meassage occures:
property loader step failed to import or export properties

x-1 property values were imported from y rows
Error code: -18, user defined error code.
how can I solve this problem?
I think sizes of arrays are limited somewhere in the source code of the property loader. is it possible to increase this size? And how?

  • How to apply Property Loader to all sequences in the Sequence File?

    HI,
I'm following the help instructions for the Property Loader and it states....
Use Current Sequence File—Selects the file where the step is located.
Sequence—Specifies the name of the sequence into which to import variables and properties. The specified sequence must exist in the specified sequence file. Select the <ALL SEQUENCES> tag from the drop-down list to instruct TestStand to import variables and properties for all of the sequences in the specified sequence file. You must specify a valid sequence name for the step to work properly.
In my specific sequence file I added the Callbacks:  SequenceFileLoad, SequenceFileUnload, PreUUT. In addition to that, my MainSequence is calling 2 subsequences.
I put the propertyLoader step (setting few values of the SequenceFileGlobals) in the setup section of the SequenceFileLoad, checked the 'Use Current Sequence File' and selected ALL SEQUENCES tag in the 'Sequence' option.  I verified that it does what I wanted.  Then, is it entered the PreUUT subsequnce, the values returned to the "original" values.
    Is that a bug?
If not, how do I use the PropertyLoader in a sequenceFile that include several subsequences as well as Callback sequences.
    Thanks
    Rafi

    Ooops, sorry about that...
    I forgot to mention....it is TS 3.5.
As per your questions-- yes they all in the same sequence file.
         mySeqFile.seq
               SequenceFileLoad
               SdequnceFileUnload
               PreUUT
               Seq1
               Seq2
AS I said....I put the property loader in the setup of the SequenceFileLoad,  I see that it works properly in that subsequence.  Then, after the SuequenceFileLoad is finished, I do Ctl+F5 for Test UUT's.  I put a breakpoint in the first step of the preUUT subsequence and check the context.  I notice that the variables in the FileGlobals to whom the property loader writes, have been changed back to the original values.
I'll try to create a simple program to duplicate it but it may take me time as this test station is very busy.
    Thanks

  • How to restrict the default selection of first row in ALV  in Webdynpro

    Hi Experts,
In webdynpro i used ALV to display the bulk amount of datas under a view container. While running it ll cme by default selection on first row. how to restrict that.....

    Hi Vimal,
Whenever we create nodes then by default the Initialization lead selection property of  node is always checked. That why in the alv by default the first row is selected.
To restrict this default selection just unchecked the Initialization lead selection property of your node.

  • Can I use property loader in a main sequence to load properties in subsequence?

Hi, I have been trying to use the property loader to load test limits and local variabels into subsequences from the main sequence.
I can export all the properties for my main sequence and all the subsequences contained within by selecing <all sequences> in the export function.
When I try to load the exported file back in using the property loader I get differant errors depending on the format I exported/imported it with.
For text or csv files iget error -17100
"The file format is incorrect near the section 'StationGlobals'.  Make sure that you are using start and end markers correctly."
For an xl format I get error -18
"Property loader step failed to import or export properties.
    310 property value(s) were found.
43 property value(s) were imported from 920 row(s) of data"
There is no where near 920 rows of data or 320 properties in the exported file.
If i use the property loader to load properties in just main it works fine, is there extra formating I need to do to the file before importing it or is it not possible to load properties into a subsequence from a property loader in main?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi,
I have tried several sequences and building the propertyloader file using the export tool,
Moving the End_Mainsequence to the bottem did not help.
I can load values into a single sequence with no problem it is only when I try to load properties into a sub sequence from the main sequence that I have issues.
Attached is a more simple example of what I am trying to acheive.
    Kind regards,

  • [ASK] Get One Row of Property Value From Dimension in Script Logic

Hello, i need help about how to get one row of property value from dimension in script logic.
Let say there is CATEGORY dimension and the members are like this :
    ID                                                  YEAR   Status
    PLAN_2011                                   2011        A
    PLAN_2011_V1                            2011        I
    ACTUAL_2011                              2011        I
    FORECAST_2011                         2011        I
    FORECAST_2011_V1                  2011        A
    PLAN_2012                                  2012        A
    PLAN_2012_V1                           2012        I
    ACTUAL_2012                             2012        I
    FORECAST_2012                         2012        I
    FORECAST_2012_V1                  2012        A
If i scope CATEGORY like this :
    *XDIM_MEMBERSET CATEGORY = [CATEGORY].PROPERTIES("YEAR") = "2011"
Then i will get member scope like this :
    PLAN_2011                                   2011        A
    PLAN_2011_V1                            2011        I
    ACTUAL_2011                              2011        I
    FORECAST_2011                         2011        I
    FORECAST_2011_V1                  2011        A
    Question :
In script logic, how can i read the second record of scope and move it to variable ?
Ex. : I read second record, so i can get the data of second record (PLAN_2011_V1, 2011, A).
Is there any function to read all record that had been scope ? So i can read all those 5 records.
Is there any substring or offset function in script logic ? How to use it ?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
Firstly, when we scope the logic, it doesnt fetch the entire record from the member sheet. It just fetches the ID.
Secondly, we dont have the feasibility to read only the second ID and skip the others. However, one alternative is that you use the SELECT statement to store all the IDs in a variable, and then use a FOR loop. But this will loop through all the 5 IDs, as per your example. If you want to skip all the IDs except one, you should maintain some property, so that all the IDs are neglected which doesnt have a particular property value.
    Hope you got the idea.

  • Property Loader - How to set it up for all sequences?

    Hi,
I made an attempt to use the property loader for the first time. (TS3.5).
I set it up in the setup section of the SequenceFileLoad and specified few parameters of the FileGlobals.
What happened was a proper operation for the SequenceFileLoad sequence, but as soon as the procedure stepped into the MainSequence, the values return to the original values.  I repeated the process with and without import to Run-time sequence only' and it behaved the same.
Is there a way to set it up so ti will apply to all sequences within my sequence file and also to the external sequence files called from the main sequence.  In short to replace the parameters of the FileGlobals for the duration fo the test.
    Thanks
    Rafi

    Rafi,
The behavior you are seeing with the SequenceFileLoad engine callback is expected.  The SequenceFileLoad callback occurs before the Sequence File is actually loaded.  In your case, you are setting the FileGlobals then loading the SequenceFile.  When the Sequence File is loaded by the engine, the FileGlobals are also loaded in with the file.  So the FileGlobals are reset to their default values.  If you want to set the FileGlobals from the property loader, put the Property Loader step in the Setup group of the MainSequence.  In this case, you are setting the values of the FileGlobals after the Sequence File is already loaded.
FileGlobals only have a scope that covers a SequenceFile.  You will not
be able to load FileGlobals that are accessible to sequences in
external sequence files.  You have a few options for getting the data into the external sequences:
    (1)  Add parameter variables to the Parameters section of each external sequence.  When the sequence is then invoked, you can pass the data which will be used by the sequence.  This provides the proper data dependency between sequences and avoids confusion on when the data is being initialized.
    (2)  For each Sequence File or each Sequence, create a separate property file.  When each sequence is called, then use the Property Loader step to load in the data.
    (3)  Use StationGlobals instead of FileGlobals.  StationGlobals have a scope that covers all SequenceFiles on a test station.  However, this is not a recommended method, because the data is accessible to all sequences.  For large applications, it is easy to mistake points in the sequences where data is being initialized and used.  In these cases, you may expect the data to be a certain value that it isn't because another Sequence has already changed the data values.  That is why it is better to use smaller scoped data variables.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
    Thanks,
    Tyler T
