Disable Javascript Alert AJAX Error Messages

Anyone know how to disable the javascript popups that come up
if an AJAX component of CF8 errors out? People paste weird stuff in
the built-in FCK (cftextarea) all the time and it errors out,
degrading into a regular text box, which is fine, but the
javascript error that comes up scares and confuses them.

  • "JavaScript Alert, Critical Errors found in set up.."

    Hello,
I'm having problems installing PSE 6 on my Mac (running 10.5.7) from the installation disk.  Each time I try to install I get the message....
Critical errors were found in setup
    - Incompatible payloads already installed
Please see the Setup log file for details.
I had downloaded a trial verison which expired last month and I deleted it.  Unfortantely I can't seem to find the Setup log to find the details, and am not sure what to do.
    Please help.
    Thanks in advance.

Having exactly the same problem and hope there is someone out there who can work me through this.
I recently purchased a 13" MacBook Pro and PSE 6 software. I have encountered a common problem of loading the software and can not get passed the "JavaScript Alert" message upon installation. Having tried many methods of clearing the HD of all CS programs that might have been present following my transfer of data from the home computer, I then attempted to do a full MacClean of all CS software.  Two problems have arisen from this.  One, the MacClean wouldn't even open when attempting to run the app. file.  Two, any other attempts to load the PSE6 Setup and following suggestions from the AdobeForum have proved futile.  Even the people in the Apple shop were unable to suggest anything beyond - "get in touch with Adobe."  And the software was purchased through that shop.
Frankly I am at my wits end with this software.  One thing of note however, I did use their trial period and was impressed with it, that is why I purchased it. I fear that the laptop has been corrupted as a result of this trial period and I am unable to cleanse my HD of them.  Even the recent upgrade of the operating system to Snow Leopard has had no effect.
Any suggestions? (before I bin the disc)

  • Javascript generated validation error message not rendering properly.

Hi guys. I am a web developer looking for some help with a Safari issue.
I have a web form with client side validation. The page is built in asp.net and uses a validation summary to display the error messages in an unordered list. The validation is not the standard asp.net version, but a version they came up with at the company I work at.
The validation produces some javascript in the page, which appears just before the closing </form> tag, which I understand can cause issues in Safari? However I cannot change the place it appears on the page because its part of a sort of CMS template.
The validation text appears fine in other browsers, but in Safari it produces a white space. However if you highlight over the space, the text is revealed, and then stays on the page. Also if you scroll the page so that the space disappears off the top of the page, and then scroll back up again, the text is visible. Also if you click the submit button again the text is revealed.
I have also found that if you use Safari in the Transparent Window mode, it all works fine.
If anybody out there has any ideas what could be causeing the problem, I would be extremely grateful.
Mac Mini Mac OS X (10.4.9) Safari 2.0.4

    Hi,
no, there doesn't exist a client side JavaScript API for this. The message element is only rendered if there is a component error detected in the lifecycle. This means there is nothing you can hook into (e.g. using document.getElementById())

  • Cannot register for account - Ajax error message 403

I am trying to register for an account so I cna give the printer a friendly email address, but I get the following error message:
Ajax submit failed: error = 403, Forbidden
Obviously this is not a friendly error message and I am not sure what's going on, other than that it results in me being unable to register. I tried two browsers as well (Firefox and Chrome).

It's possible that there's a setting in your web browser responsible for what you're seeing. I would recommend trying the following steps:
    1. Try to view the site in a different web browser to see if that's the issue. Normally, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Firefox, and Safari all display the website properly. Try one or two of those (other than the one you've been using) and it should do the trick.
    2. If that doesn't work, try resetting Internet Explorer's default settings by clicking "Tools" (on the top menu bar), "Internet Options" (usually at the bottom of that list), "Advanced" (far-right tab), and "Reset" (towards the bottom-right of that box). After resetting the defaults, try viewing the ePrint Settings area again.

  • "Macros in this project are disabled..." error message when creating PDF files

The following error occurs when creating a PDF file using a document that was created from a MS Word 2007 templates.
"Macros in this project are disabled..."
The security settings are set appropriately - it's not that. I have done everything I can think of including asking Microsoft; they say it's not them. It may not be, but I do not know how to get around it. It did not happen before upgrading my templates to the Office 2007 format.
Has this happened to anyone else? There is no coding within th etemplates regartding PDFs. We are using Adobe Professional X.  The error only occurs when we use Adobe Pro X.
One thing I just noticed, our templates get the following message when we go to save as a PDF using Adobe:
Acrobat PDFMAker needs to save the file before continuing. Do you want PDFMaker to save the file and continue?

Does it work the first time after you delete your Normal.dotm file? You may be running into the same issue that is detailed in this post Unable to open document. Please check to see if you have read permission for the above file.

  • JavaScript and Translators Error Messages in Contribute 3

I installed Contribute 3 on a Windows XP PC last week. It
worked fine for a few days and then started giving the following
    errors:
When user opens Contribute: "The following translators were
not loaded due to errors: EditTextOnly.htm has configuration
information that is invalid" The user can click OK, but the message
keeps popping up as they edit their page.
When user publishes a page: "While executing onLoad in
_afterSave.htm the following JavaScript error occurred in file
_afterSave Reference Error: afterSave is not defined"
I've uninstalled and reinstalled Contribute a few times, but
haven't had any luck. Contribute 3 is installed on several other
PCs and this is the first time we've had this kind of problem. What
    are your suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Kathy

Other users could open the same web pages in Contribute and
edit/publish them without any problem. Which tells me that the
errors were caused by this particular installation of Contribute 3
and not by some problematic javascript on the page. The only
"solution" I could come up with was to install Contribute 4. Once I
did that, the errors went away. It still puzzles me though,
especially since Contribute 3 worked fine for a few days before
    these errors showed up.

  • Firefox will disable my HP L7680( error message " turn power off then on again") when using either the printer icon or print in file pull down. .

This happens for em & other print request in my online brokerage account. It has no problem printing PDF files. When the message appears, four lights start blinking at the same time on the auto answer button, on off button, lower SD slot, and the light under the OK button with the directional tabs. At that point I have to power down the printer and change to ie8 to print these. My ie8 browser has no problems with any printing, but it does not function when trying to add notes in my Comcast address book

Mowaffaq, you may want to determine whether you are making those changes in the master printing preferences (versus the adjusting the session printing preferences from within your application).
Click "Start", click "Printers and Faxes" (or "Devices and Printers"), right-click your printer, and select "Printing Preferences". On the "Paper/Quality" tab, you should be able to specify A4 as your default paper for all future print jobs.
    Hope that helps.

  • Need to find the way to get the actual error message in the alert log.

    Hi,
I have configured OEM 11G and monitoring target versions are from 9i to 11g. Now my problem is i have defined the metrics for monitoring the alert log contents and OEM is sending alert if there is any error in the alert log but it is not showing the actual error message just it is showing as below.
    ============================
    Target Name=IDMPRD
    Target type=Database Instance
    Host=oidmprd01.ho.abc.com
    Occurred At=Dec 21, 2011 12:05:21 AM GMT+03:00
Message=1 distinct types of ORA- errors have been found in the alert log.
    Metric=Generic Alert Log Error Status
    Metric value=1
    Severity=Warning
    Acknowledged=No
    Notification Rule Name=RULE_4_PROD_DATABASES
    Notification Rule Owner=SYSMAN
    ============================
Is there any way to get the complete error details in the OEM alert itself.
    Regards
    DBA.

You need to look at the Alert Log error messages, not the "status" messages. See doc http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11857_01/em.111/e16285/oracle_database.htm#autoId2

  • I use noscript and when clicking on "print" on newspaper articles or links to social networks I get javascript:void(null) error and nothing happens. ???

If I am reading an article on, example, the Indy Star website, and there is a button to print, I see this javascript:void(null) error message in the lower corner and nothing happens. If I go to noscript and keep "temporarily allowing all pages" eventually it will print. The same goes with trying to put an article, again say off the Indy Star website, on my Facebook page, I get the same error and have to follow the same routine (temp allow all pages) before it finally works. Any suggestions?

Yes, if you block JavaScript by using the NoScript extension, JavaScript print buttons aren't going to work until you allow JavaScript for the particular domain that print button is for.
You should study the NoScript features and learn how to use that extension. <br />
    http://noscript.net/features
It is a very powerful extension which adds a good deal of security to Firefox, but there is a steep learning curve, and when you first start using it you need to set up the whitelist for web sites that you frequently visit.

  • JavaScript Alert functionality in PL/SQL

I'm in need of implementing the JavaScript "Alert" functionality (display message and wait for user to acknowledge) in the "before displaying the page" PL/SQL block of portal reports and forms. While I'm at it - How about the JavaScript "history.back" function as well?
Is this possible? Can you point me in the right direction.

    Hi,
Where Portal says "before displaying the page" what it means is that it will run this code before it starts to htp.p() out the HTML of the page.
In WebDB this was actually what happened, in Portal there are some elements of HTML output BEFORE this block of code is run.
Anyway I don't think that you can have an alert that displays before the page is loaded. The page will still show behind the alert.
To get around this you would need a blank page to show your alert that forwards you on to the required page.
The history function can be called by the onclick event of a button or you can access Javascript through an anchor tag:-

  • Javascript Alert on download setup

I just purchased Adobe Elements 6.0 for my IMac and have previously used a trial version. I have successfully downloaded the program, but when I run the setup file I get this error  "Javascript Alert: Critical errors were found in setup. Incompatible payloads already installed. See setup log file for details." I am assuming this error is because I have had a previous trial version on my computer.... I have tried deleting/uninstalling the older programs, but I don't know if I have found all of the old files, or if this is even the problem...also, my serial number is not working...I think this is also related to the old trial version... can anyone help with this???

    Hi,
There is a known issue with installing retail version of PSE 6 on trial version. Removing files manually doesnt actually remove all the files, there are still some files which we do not directly relate but still need to be removed.
You can follow the below link to get rid of the issue:

Let me know if this helps.

  • Actionscript error message

Using Captivate 6. When trying to publish a file for proofing, with eLearning output disabled, I receive this error message: Swf compilation failed. Note: Please verify if any of the actionscript keywords is used as user variable name. Where should I look to try to solve this issue?

Some info copied and pasted from my e-book on Troubleshooting Captivate 6:
    Reserved keyword error
Solution 1: Try hiding slides and republishing
I struck this error once after adding a Certificate widget at the end of a Captivate 6 project.  Thinking that the issue was the widget, I hid the widget slide and republished the project successfully.  Then I unhid the widget slide and published again successfully.  So whatever caused the glitch during the first publish had resolved itself just by hiding the last slide added.  Perhaps you will be so lucky.  As stated in our section about troubleshooting tips, always try the easy solutions first.
Solution 2: Avoid using punctuation in fields
This error can result if you have inadvertently added punctuation marks in object Item Names, slide labels, project information fields, etc. Certain characters (such as [ ] / “ ‘ # : ; etc) are also used in programming languages and Captivate may mistake these characters for executable code.  If you experience this error, the solution requires searching through all data fields in your project file to remove any punctuation characters you find in the following field areas:
    Project information
    Slide labels
    LMS settings
    Quizzing labels
    Closed captioning text
    Slide notes text
Solution 3: Copy/paste objects to reset object identifiers
Another possible reason for this error can be that you’ve been copying and pasting content objects or slides from one project to another and this has somehow created a conflict because two objects ended up with the same unique identifier in the project file.  They start fighting over who gets the honor of keeping the name and Captivate falls over as a casualty of war.  Fortunately, this issue is now quite rare because Adobe has progressively built more safeguards into Captivate to prevent these conflicts.
Paradoxically, the solution is to do yet another copy / paste run, but this time paste into a new blank project of the same size with no other slides or objects.  The reason this method works is that when Captivate objects are copied and pasted they are always assigned new unique IDs, even when you copy and paste into another slide of the same project.  So if the issue is due to a conflict between items with the same identifier, copying all slides and objects into a new project file forces Captivate to reassign new IDs, which then ensures they are all unique again.
The downside of this particular method is that copying and pasting to another project will NOT retain any Advanced Actions or Variables that you had set up in the original project.  So you may need to set those up again.

  • How to disable the alert message that comes in older browsers while loading

    Hi!
I'm testing the ADF Rich faces app on Firefox 2.0.01.
It's working fine, but still I get the Error "" You are using unsupported Gecko Browser, the Supported Gecko browsers are 2.0.02 and higher".
I don't want that message to be displayed to the user, though he may be using older browsers..
I Suppose the application developer can handle it according to the demands of the of the situation...
Can you suggest a way to disable that alert message which is very annoying to the user , every time a page is loaded ?
    Thanking you in advance,

I just installed 4.0b7. When I open Firefox, a Javascript Application windows opens with the following message:
    "what happened:TypeError: Components.classes ['@mozilla.org/extensions/manager;1'] is undefined".
The browser does open after I click 'OK' on the error message.
    How can I fix this?
I have tried uninstaling and re-installing the browser.
    I am using Windows 7.

That indicates an add-on is not compatible with 4.0b7. Follow the procedure in the [[troubleshooting extensions and themes]] article to identify the culprit. If you have the Ask toolbar either disable or uninstall it, that one is known to give this error and is not compatible with 4.0b7.
