Disabling drill down on workbook level

Is there a way to disable drill up/down on a workbook level?
Currently the drill action uses the hierarchies defined in the admin edition, which apply to all workbooks.
In certain workbooks, particular the ones I use analytic functions like LAG, allowing drilldowns may result in incorrect results. How can I disable such drilling.
Thanks!

Ernest,
This is easy to correct. All you need to do is create a calculation of the variable that has the drill on it... then drop the field from the workbook and use the cal. in its place.

• Disable Drill Down For Groups only except SubReport

Hi All,

I have 10 subreports and also 5 Groups sections in one report (version CR 10 - VS.Net 2005)

I need to disable drill down on Groups except SubReport .

Thanks in advance for any solution

-Harini

Where are the subreports located? You mention you have 10 subreports and also 5 group sections. Are the subreports located in the page or report header/footer sections? Are there detail records in the groups? If not, then you don't need to supress drill-down, there is nothing to drill to. If there is, suppress the detail section. If a user drills on the groups, there will be no detailed information visible.
Typically, if you have multiple groups and want to supress drill-down but still display the first group, you can use the 'drilldowngrouplevel >1' statement in the section expert to conditionally suppress the group. Right click the group, select 'Section expert', and click the formula button (the button with the 'X-2' and a little pencil) next to 'Suppress (No Drill-Down) Then, enter drilldowngrouplevel >1. This should do the trick if you have your report structured this way. If not, please provide a little more detail.
Thanks and good luck.

• Discoverer plus drill down looses workbook formatting

Hi,
I am having a strange issue with my discoverer workbook. I have created a report with drill down for example
here is the hierarchy i am trying: [http://img709.imageshack.us/img709/6787/hierarchy.png]
now on the net sales level I have grouped the region column by selecting "Group Sort" on that column and same on the customer column and net sales column. but the problem happens when i go down to the next level. for example the customer level at this point the grouping of the region goes away and the report looks ugly. so basically it has lines like:
Net Sales east region cust1
Net Sales east region cust2
Net Sales west region cust1
Net Sales west region cust2
instead of:
Net Sales east region cust1
cust1
west region cust1
cust2
hope that makes sense of my problem. so the group sort just goes away when i drill down. please help

Hi,
I tried your suggestion but that didn't work. i still loose formatting when i drill up and then drill back down.
I thought maybe these images will help better explain please have a look. I had to break it to make the images look more clear.

• OBIEE 11g Report-When drilling down to lower level, totals are not matching

Hi All,
I am creating a report in Analytics 7.9.6.3 , OBIEE 11g - Let’s say Budget Cost/Actual Cost based on the Date Dimension
Have selected the Fiscal Year Dim, Fact Budget Cost, Fact Actual Cost
FY BCost ACost
2011 100 120
2012 150 140
Total 250 260
But here when I am drilling down from Year to Quarter and Period - The values are not matching with the totals....
FY FY Qrt BCost ACost
2011 2011 Q1 80 100
2011 Q2 100 90
2011 Q3 110 120
2011 Q4 90 130
Total 380 440
Fiscal Year, Fiscal Quarter Budget Cost and Actual Cost are not returning correct results – When selecting cost's by fiscal year, or filtering on a specific fiscal year, the amount returned does not equal the fiscal year total;
when I am drilling down to Quarter and Period Level the BCost & ACosts are bumping the Numbers as above and not matching with totals
Any suggestions?

Check out the query in both the times.Execute against database and try to sum the data for quarter/period and compare it with Year data.
Just try to differentiate is it a report total that is getting wrong or the data in the database table itself is getting wrong stored.
Mark as helpful if it helps.

• Cash Management Report FF7B - drill-down from planning levels to AP/AR OIs

Hi
I'm configuring cash management and have created all planning levels and groups needed.
All master data, ie GL accounts, vendors and customers, have the correct planning level or group.
I've created all the groupings etc that I need.
I'm running the reports FF7A and FF7B. I have two questions and problems.
1. When running the Liquidity Forecsat for customers and vendors I drill-down to the standard PL or SL planning levels for AP and AR postings respectively. Then I drill into the planning groups correctly (E1-E9 and R1-R8). But when I try to drill into the cash management detail records (or is it the AP/AR line items?) I get "Memo Records: List - List Contains No Data". This happens every time. Should I now see the AP or AP line items? Or should I see some cash management memo records? I have deleted all the cash management data several times and recreated but I still get this problem (using reports RFFDDL00 and RFFDKU00)
When I do the same for purchase orders, purchase requisitions or sales orders I see a Memo Records List which agrees with the previous planning level total and I can then drill into the actiual POs, PRs or SOs from this list without an issue.
2. When running the Cash Position and I do the drill-down to the GL Line Items, I get an enormous list which does not just show the total of items at the previous planning level. Why is this please? Example: a bank account with a balance of £2,000 (shown on the panning level) but with 000's of line items totalling say £5m. Again I have deleted the CM data and recreated but without any improvement to the problem.
Any help anyone can give me with these issues will be very much appreciated.
Thanks.
Wayne

Hi
I have the same trouble with Tcode FF7B. There´s a message "Memo Records: List - List Contains No Data"; bit in the TcodeFF7A, it runs OK. The message appears just witn Tcode FF7A.
Also, There´s all TR data in tables FDSB for GL accounts, FDSR and FDFIEP for customers/vendors.
Can you help me?? can you solved this issue?

• Reporting by org hierarchy with drill down by each level of reports to...

Hello,
I'm trying to determine how to aggregate reporting by org hierarchy. Utlimately to report on opportunities at the highest level (CEO; all opportunities below CEO) then a second drill down report that shows summary by Level 2 (all those who report to the CEO), then again by Level 3 drill down which would be those who report to somone in Level 2. In all instances I want the report to show all records that ultimately roll up to that level (thus include direct reports alll of their direct and indirect reports )
Level 1
CEO $10,000,000 200 Optys
Level 2
Sales Leader 1 $ 3,000,000
Sales Leader 2 $ 2,000,000
Sales Leader 3 $ 1,500,000
Sales Leader 4 $ 3,500,000
Level 3

- rollup of all that report to Sales Leader 1 (and so on) aggregated by first level of direct reports ($3,000,000)
Sales Mgr 1.1 $ 1,000,000
Sales Mgr 1.2 $ 500,000
Sales Mgr 1.3 $ 750,000
Sales Mgr 1.4 $ 250,000

I'd appreicate any help you can send my way.
Thanks, Aaron

Hi Aaron,
I have come across this and found that using the "Reports To" hierarchy and "Territory Team" hierarchy are not sufficient. I implemented this as a solution for one of our clients and it works very well:
I have modified the user entity and renamed 4 standard fields:
• Business Unit renamed to "Primary Line of Business"
• Business Unit Level 1 renamed to "BU Group"
• Business Unit Level 2 renamed to "Business Unit"
• Business Unit Level 3renamed to "Team"
Not all fields go through into analytics so I had to use these fields which are available in the Opportunity-Product History subject area. The downside is that they have to be text boxes so restrict access to who can populate these. From this you can get 4 hierarchy levels and drill from one to the next. The record owner then becomes the lowest level in your report and it can look something like this:
Level 1
Primary Line of Business
Level 2
BU Group
BU Group
Level 3
Business Unit
Business Unit
Business Unit
Level 4
Team
Team
Team
Team
Level 5
Sales Person 1
Sales Person 2
Sales Person 3
Sales Person 4
Sales Person 5
Obviously it would appear side by side in the report..
Thanks

The following error occurs when I drill down to a "Actual Line items sub report" using the "top node" of an hierarchy based report .
But, the same drill down works fine when I drill down using the very sub level of the same hierarchy (without any further levels of hierarchies).

• Disable drill down option

Hi! Can somebody tell me why I have disable the drill down options in all my charts???
I´m using Xcelsius 2008, fix pack 1
Thanks!

Hi, Jessica Ordoz
You want to say that Your Drill Down Option is Disable for all Charts if i understand you right it not allows you to enable Drill Down.
In Fact when you Place a Chart you will find this option disable but it will automatically let you Enable it when you select Data Range for this Char.
Please Reply if not able to Do that.
Kind Regards,
Faisal

One way is to create a role and restrict access through it

I have created a report in Performance Point dashboard designer but when I change Column name (Measure Name) in MDX query this causes all the built-in ad hoc

Any suggestions ..

i knew somewhere i was messed up .
There is only viewlink between, Parent and child .NO FK ,these are not related database table (Entity Object.).

• Optimization of Drill Down time to Base level members

Hi All,
I have built a Balance Sheet Lead Sheet in which I need to show all the Entities in rows which have values for a particular Balance Sheet Account. What I am doing is providing the Entities structure at Consolidated level and then allowing users to Drill Down to base level entities but the problem is that while drilling down to last level of entity member it takes whole lot of time.I can understand that the Application will take time in returning the response on fly after suppressing the zero rows but is there any way of applying some optimization techniques to this either at FR level or HFM level.
Thanks in advance.

• Hierarchy drill down issue at the lowest level

Hi,
In OBIEE 11.1.1.5 I face an issue with drill down to lowest level of presentation hierarchy (expanded by "+" in report). It happens only for combination of 2 dimensions presentation hierarchies in analytics report (parent-child organizational structure + level based product categorization). Aggregated date comes from OLAP but lowest level product information comes from relational database and this details are not displayed.
First I drill to particular sales rep in organizational structure. Then for that sales rep I need to drill down product hierarchy and it works except lowest level of details. At the lowest level of product hierarchy, query sent to database (I have it from logs) return proper results (checked directly in db) but report behaves the way like there are no details at the lowest level and product details are not displayed.
Both (Organizational structure, Product) dimension presentation hierarchies works ok at all levels when used separately. Also product hierarchy works well at all levels (including OLAP->relational drill) when used togather with other level-based hierarchies in subject area.
I am wondering what I could have done wrong...
Advices are very welcome!

Hierarchy keys are set properly and "use for display" is checked.
Dimension presentation hierarchies does not work only when I use particular two hierarchies togather in one report table. When each of hierarchies is displayed separately it works ok.
